      Nobody ever thinks about the power vs weight ratio of these bikes. Bigger bores generate more torque across the curve but it's severely diminished by the added bulk. I prefer 2t 125s. Pound for pound they are generally more nimble and just as quick. You just have to rev match them higher and shift more.

    125s are almost an art form now days, especially with so many that mostly ride four strokes. Back when ktm came out w the hydraulic clutch I thought it was mainly because of the clutch work it takes to keep a 125 on the pipe. If you can use the clutch and pick your gears right there right there w the speed of any other bike but keeping one pinned through corners a gear lower than you need to be in making noise is not keeping it on the pipe and is slowing you down. This is more for mx riding but take every turn a gear higher than before. Keep it pinned and feather the clutch. You won't have to do this but jus a moment and when you can let out all the way on the clutch w it in good power hit the clutch and grab another gear,and don't let off the throttle when shifting. 125s shine when you keep them pinned. You won't hurt it . You will have so much more speed and be a gear almost two gears ahead of the ones I see now that just keeping it screaming in a gear or so lower is doing anything. In a hare scramble or woods riding I wouldn't hammer it like this the whole time because you don't have that many corners like a mx track that will hold you dropping in hard for the berm or rut to catch you and you will wear yourself down quick,especially w gloves grips and seat wet w mud usually and you and the bike now heavier.

    • @alantaylor6691
      @alantaylor6691 3 роки тому

    I have a 2021 250x, it's the first bike I ever owned. and all I do is trial ride, tight and twisties and a lot of track bed, I threw a bigger sprocket on the front and I can blow just about anything I want right away on a stretch, and it still has tons and tons of power for low and slower riding. I put a headlight on it and stuff, I can't recommend this bike enough. And when it comes to rebuilding, I ride a lot in the summer I rebuild it every 2 seasons, here in northern Maine the season is shorter than other states but I'd say I put on 3000 miles a summer. I have stock jetting and basically the whole bike is stock. I also ride it pretty hard, I'm on like my 7th rear tire? And I've done chain and sprockets. That's my 2 cents.

    One thing is certain, either will be cheaper and easier to fix then anything orange....ESPECIALLY if its got TPi in its nomenclature. Not a KTM hater, matter of fact I love my 350 but somethings just don't mix with mud and water when you're 20 miles deep in the woods from the nearest road.
