    bought a Pentair Clean and Clear Plus Cartridge Filter and decided to install it myself after watching your installation instructions. The install was relatively easy thanks to the tips you provided in your video. I saved a fair amount of money and, not being a "pool expert," enjoyed the accomplishment. Great video!

    This video was great! Thank you so much! My husband and I were able to install this with relatively high confidence after watching your video!

    Curious why 45 degree sweeps aren't used instead of 90's? The 45's reduce water flow resistance adding life to the pump. Other than that question.....excellent.

      Most common reason is pool equipment layout/spacing.

    Trying to install one now. I think I made a mistake by waiting to the end to screw the couplers on. I can't get the O-rings to seal.

    Thank you for this detailed video. I have a question, Im about to replace my current really old DE filter with a Pentair Clean & Clear 520. My current DE filter has a backwash valve installed which is connected to the sewer line (I live in North Texas). You mention in your video that Cartridge Filters should not be installed with a Push-Pull Backwash valve of the cartridge will explode. I understand that cartridge filters do not require backwash, but is it really a bad idea to use a push pull backwash valve? I already have a replacement one and would not like to return it or exchange it for a multi port one unless its absolutely necessary. Thanks in advance!

      If you want to blow the filter up your more than welcome to but we will not recommend doing so. Any reputable pool company in your area will tell you the same thing. Hope this helps!

    He turns off the power, then releases the air valve and says it's to let air back in. Can someone explain? I thought that's to release air, not add.

    • @ePoolSupply
      @ePoolSupply  5 місяців тому

      Its does technically yes but it pushes air into the system to force the water out making the job easier as less messy. Hopefully this makes sense.

    Also, I noticed a few people installing these particular DE filters without the Backwash valve. I love that because its simple, but maybe another thing you should point out to your viewers?

    • @ePoolSupply
      @ePoolSupply  2 роки тому

      Hello, normally we would include that in the video however, this particular install video is for a cartridge style filter which does not require a backwash valve. Hope this helps!

    Great video! Question: Did your pool plumbing diameter match the diameter of the filter? Mine is 2" pool plumbing and a 2 1/2" filter inlet/ outlet, so I need reducing bushings. Do you glue the reducer or just insert it without glue? Thanks.

    • @ePoolSupply
      @ePoolSupply  Рік тому

      Unless the reducer is threaded onto a union yes it would need to be glued. Hope this helps!

    Hi. Great video brother. Did you cap the backwash pipe since there is no need for it? Thanks

    • @ePoolSupply
      @ePoolSupply  2 роки тому +1

      Hi there, in this particular case, there was no backwash line underground by any means. The customer just let the waste water fly down their side yard. Normally, yes, I would cap the backwash line that comes up from the ground.

    wow incredible ! thanks so much. Really makes me want to do this project on my own. My 520 filter is coming next week. Is there a way to place some valve so that I bypass the filter - lets say cleanup with lots of waste and I don't want dirt to go into the filter?

    • @ePoolSupply
      @ePoolSupply  2 роки тому

      That's will be some complicated plumbing. However, you can thread in a 1.5’’ line in the bottom of the filter and attach a Pentair 2 way valve to it. May save time, money, and energy.

      Do not have them in stock but they are on the way and should be here at our warehouse in the next week or two. Hope this helps!

    Anyone know if there’s 2 -O Rings in the Black Unions that are on this filter? Mine leak! I used pipe tape, and are these just hand tight?

    • @ePoolSupply
      @ePoolSupply  2 роки тому

      Yes, there are O-rings normally with any unions used with water. And yes we only recommend hand tightening those. Hope this helps!

      Depending on the type of glue you buy. Most are 30 min sets. Some I’ve seen take an hour.
