@Annemarie O'Neal - I heard that also many years ago, that Linda was pregnant when she married Paul, but it was not his baby. Since then, I've never heard anything further about that. James & Stella definately look like full brother & sister, Mary not so much so.
I am now 72, and can tell anyone who wants to know that in 1963 when The Beatles burst in to the charts it was always 'glad confident morning'. The Beatles changed everything , they were the most influential cultural phenomena of the second half of the 20th century world wide. To end I hope Paul and Ringo live forever.
The real Paul McCartney died late 1966 and Ringo is the last living member in 2020 that played on all of their albums and toured with them. Regarding 82-83 year old lying "Sir Paul" (William), do you really want this a-hole to go on forever ? Bill have greatly damaged JPM's legacy.

@@the_real_littlepinkhousefly I think you are exactly right. @@TR12365 see i don't think so. It just says the vote was probably a mistake. That doesnt indicate a dislike of the result over a dislike of the original idea behind having a vote. A slight wince occurred over here when Stella said Paul had come up with 'All You Need is Love', and in his teens. That's some pretty basic Beatles history for a Beatles daughter to not know. I guess she grew up so close to it. Poor old Paul felt he had to redress the balance by saying John would get irritated when Paul's songs were attributed to him. There' still a little rivalry there then...
Daughters are there for you always..especially in your older age! They seem very close to their Dad..son James is all family too! Paul and Linda did a great job. It shows!❤
Mabe, I'm Amazed....after watching the newly released documentary, Get Back, Nov. 25, 2021 and then stumbling onto this and many other Beatles' interviews. Paul McCartney is a true , articulate gentleman. His family is so well grounded, and that must bring him great pleasure. At 70, and having purchased Remastered and Reissued releases : The White Album, Abbey Road, and now Let It Be ( box sets with books, etc.) , it reinforces and reinstills the greatness of The Beatles. Each of the Fab 4 had their own personalities, and the people of my generation watched Them Grow Up. I have just watched Eight Day A Week - The Touring Years movie. It serves to remind us of what BEATLEMANIA was a d how it affected them individually. It takes you to 1966, where after an awful concert tour in that year, culminating at a "crazy" concert in San Fransisco, made them all simultaneousy agree to not do concerts a y longer. They stayed a Studio Band, making some of the Best Music of the Ages.
I love Paul and I always did. I am wonderfully surprised that Linda and their children are so thoughtful and nice. I am so thankful for this interview.
Their parents were great role models and raised them well. Not an easy task in a celebrity rock & roll marriage. They are all very down to Earth, friendly, kind people!

i don't know about ian kilmister, but i know 'the clash' were undecided, because they didn't know if they should stay or go. lemmy probably thought the remainer's eagerness to stay was overkill.
Lemmy wouldn't have supported Brexit. Motörhead were a working class rock band and Lemmy, despite the sex and drugs, was always a polite and considerate gentleman. He certainly supported the regeneration of Northern industry. having been born in Stoke but I would expect that he probably never bothered to vote, or if he did he'd be aligned with Labour. Also, despite collecting Nazi memorabilia, he liked it for the aesthetic. He was against nationalism and racism. Go read his biography or listen to his interviews.
i knew all of motorhead's band members way back in the early 80's, when they were signed to bronze records under doug smith, along with girlschool & tank. i believe lemmy would have been a labour brexiteer, rather than a tory one, especially with the way unemployment is rife in the north of england right now, even though he was from the midlands. all the best.
Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, but since I more or less only see Brexit supporters here, I would like to express a different view on all of this. People are saying Paul McCartney isn't entitled to talk about working class life in Britain, which very well may be true, but there's no denying that Brexit is a mess. And I do not find that surprising, from the start nobody really understood what Brexit was and I cannot understand how someone could vote for something they don't fully understand. Now you could say that Brexit is easy to understand:"It's simply cutting our ties to the EU." But it's not that simple, is it? People saying that Brexit is good for the working class is surprising to me, since there are working class people losing their jobs, because of Brexit. Britain also didn't have it too bad with the EU, despite what some may say, because last time I checked, the pound sterling is still being used in Britain and not the euro. Now I absolutely understand frustrations with the EU, but Britain absolutely wasn't being "dictated" or something like that, the EU and the UK supported each other and were somewhat "connected", now they may not have done everything perfectly, but not everything in a relationship is perfect, you get the benefits, but you also must take the responsibilities. Brexit complicates so many things. It, for example, complicates traveling in out and out of the UK and if Britain were to have a conflict with another country, it won't be a an issue for the European Union, but merely an issue for the small island that is Britain. I also think Paul McCartney made a good point by saying that a lot of people are talking about how it's going to be like the "old times", because I much like McCartney do not look at the past in awe. There's no progress in going back. I understand if people have their frustrations, but I'm not too sure about Britain being so independent, I don't even like calling it independent, that just sounds too glamorous to me, isolation sounds more appropriate to me. And is isolation truly the answer? Because I don't know about you, but I get by with a little help from my friends.
I really am fed-up with hearing the 'remoaner' argument, because it's an argument that could be applied to any political matter. I would rather live in a democracy than live in a non-democratic dictatorship; despite how marvellous some might think this to be.
Iazzaboyce I can't recall saying anything against democracy. Brexit was voted and I respect that, then so be it. But that doesn't make me personally a fan of it. I believe that if people would've known the mess that Brexit would make, they perhaps would've thought twice and not just that, I also believe more people should've voted. But it is what it is, it just frustrates me how as soon as someone says something that isn't pro-Brexit, they get a load of grief. Brexit is problematic, let people speak that truth.
Iazzaboyce I agree that it's the people in power that caused the mess, but I wouldn't say that it's because they don't respect the vote. It's difficult for Britain to cut ties with the EU, because they both somewhat rely on each other. That's why it's all so messy.
He is also a Genius. Just try and write 1 hit single- to write 100s is an unbelievable achievement,Macca,Madonna,Barry Gibb,Michael Jackson,Holland-Dozier-Holland are beyond comprehension

They go on about Linda's love of simplicity yet both Stella and Mary are very much the designer wearing affluent yummy mummies of London. Nannies and assistants etc they don't really follow their mum for that. You can tell Linda really loved that the simple life with not loads of material things. it wasn't just a trend for her.

Not everybody at his level of fame have achieved that. Somehow he kept his feet on the ground and stayed in touch with what was real and what was truly important. Cheers Paul.
Linda McCartney was one of the greatest photographers of the Rock 'N' Roll Era. While there were dozens of pioneering female photographers who worked before she was active, Linda did get a lot of outstanding pictures from many of the major bands and music artists of the 1960's, and also some from the 1970's and 1980's. Despite what some may believe, her photographs are not all just Beatles or McCartney-related images. Secondly, John Lennon mostly wrote "All You Need Is Love." It was especially written for The Beatles appearance as the official UK representatives for the 1967 "Our World" TV Special. "Our World" was the first worldwide satellite TV broadcast, and each major country on the planet, and some small countries as well, were each allowed one music act or speaker for the show. Paul had recently turned 25 when the show aired. Finally, I'm an American, so perhaps it's not my place to voice an opinion on Brexit. All I wish to point out is that Ringo Starr lives in Los Angeles most of the year, so while, as an English citizen, he of course has an opinion on Brexit, the actual outcome of the matter is not something he will feel every day, or even that often. Paul McCartney spends months in New York and Los Angeles each year, but primarily lives in England. His children and grandchildren, with the exception of his eldest daughter Heather, all live in England. His family will be affected much more by how it is all decided.
Wow, that was all very well put and respectful. Honestly, a good few comments are kinda snobbily correcting Stella about the All You Need Is Love comment but this clears it up nicely. And more recognition for Linda as a photographer! :) Thumbs up, man!
@@olskzeri4537 yeah, right. As if William was the only man to be brought in to act as Paul Replacement. There's no doubt that Paul was replaced, it is clear as day. And while Billy might be the main replacement, there were a couple of other guys running around pretending to be Paul right up a couple years ago. One of them was called Marty Rose. He was the one who looked the most like Paul. He had a small face, round head, highly swooped eyebrows and a small thin nose. And then there was William, whom as you know has green eyes, long thin nose, elongated face and dangling chin - and least but not last there was Pete Santora. Who looked a good bit like William but there were a few minor differences - such as his eyes which are blue, the shape of his face which is slightly shorter than than that of Williams and his nose which is quite robust, and looks slightly beaked from the side. MYTH: The dead remained unburied because of strikes In early 1979, as part of industrial action across public services, grave diggers at two cemeteries (one in Liverpool and one in London) took unofficial strike action. These actions lasted for a few weeks, during which bodies that would have been buried in those cemeteries were kept on ice. In all other cemeteries across the UK the dead were buried as usual.

She seems confident of this but she is wrong as she was was born afterwards on September 13, 1971 so it's clearly an impossibility. She is most likely remembering the making of 1973's Red Rose Speedway. Memory is such a strange thing. We can be so certain yet be so wrong nonetheless.

When he was inconsolably depressed at the time the Beatles broke up, she was there to strongly and unwaveringly encourage and support him, and convince him he can do this again. Wonder what he would have done without her.
Linda had it right. She was, is, a pure soul, and it's sad she left so early. In her honor, I want to give out a link to an article that advocates the use of plant-based fertilizers over animal fertilizers, and how it relates to veganism, generally. It's a lengthy article that is the most incredible one I've ever come across. It talks about how animal fertilizers from factory farms pollute the ground and water, ruining the soil for farming, hurts the ecology, and how bad pathogens from the fertilizer ends up in the crops. Even organic farms use it sometimes, and it's still called organic food. Organic grass is healthier for the soil, and the crops. And how it takes 4 times as much land to produce the same amount of animal fertilizer that growing hay would. And how even in small organic dairies, the animals live short lives, and then have unnatural ends. And the cruelty in the factory farm dairies. Vegan diets are healthier, also, because meats are bad news, plus the fats cause heart issues, etc. You can get healthy fats, especially unsaturated fats, and proteins, from non-meat and dairy. And sprouted grains for reduced lectins. That's just a basic overview. Google 'Is it time for a plant-based agriculture?', by the North America Vegetarian Society.

Does anyone know if Lemmy of Motorhead supported Brexit?
We'll never know as they killed him
Iron Maiden front man does.
i don't know about ian kilmister, but i know 'the clash' were undecided, because they didn't know if they should stay or go.
lemmy probably thought the remainer's eagerness to stay was overkill.
Repulse theMonkey well, then congratulations, everything is going the way you wanted it to! 👍
@@ChrisLeoThomas The only 'mess' has been caused by people in positions of power not respecting the vote.
Iazzaboyce I agree that it's the people in power that caused the mess, but I wouldn't say that it's because they don't respect the vote. It's difficult for Britain to cut ties with the EU, because they both somewhat rely on each other. That's why it's all so messy.

Linda grounded him. She was his rock, his foundation. She brought out the best in him.
You can tell that Paul McCartney loved Linda. I thank God she was there. She was a good lady.
y g You can tell he loved John too.

In early 1979, as part of industrial action across public services, grave diggers at two cemeteries (one in Liverpool and one in London) took unofficial strike action. I don't know why, but Stella always looks so stuck up and unapproachable despite her mother being so laid back.
Almost all of the best Beatles songs were composed by Paul McCartney.
Alone, good but less, as if something was missing.
That something was the group or George Martin?
When folks break away from a group they are never as good. I was thinking of Randy Meisner, who didn't match the success of the Eagles, and there are loads of other examples.
One of the greatest quotes of all time is 'all you need is love' then they flipped it around to say 'love is all you need just brilliant.
Well, Lennon wrote that song pretty much by himself
BBC - "Sir Paul McCartney has said the Brexit referendum was "probably a mistake". McCartney - @ 8:35 It's been thrust upon us through the referendum .... that was probably a mistake, I think, the first referendum". There is one 'first referendum' dating back 1975, when the UK said yes to remain in the European Communities (EC).
PAUL YOUR VIEW DOES NO MATTER 17-4 MILLION HAVE DECIDED.
And declining every minute, every day...😔
Come back in two years time little Englander. With no more Great Britain, GM food on shop shelves , No NHS. Little England with bits of Wales just another state of USA.
The older he gets the more he looks like my nan
@David Charles Francis Topham de Vere Beauclerk Easy!
Being able to trade freely across the EU helps UK businesses grow and create jobs, giving you and your family more opportunities and more financial security. For example- over 3 million UK jobs are linked to our trade with the EU: one in every ten jobs in this country .Being in the EU will create 790,000 more UK jobs by 2030 creating more opportunities for you and your family.
In the EU you can find work, holiday and retire without visas, and study abroad on the Erasmus programme, offering you and your family even more ways to get on in life.
If we leave the EU experts predict that the economic hit would mean up to 950,000 UK jobs could be lost (Source: Confederation of British Industry), meaning less security for you and your family.
The Trades Union Congress says the average wage would fall by £38 a week if we left Europe
@David Charles Francis Topham de Vere Beauclerk Yes, bureaucracy. However by leaving the EU -we risk getting into USA USA USA trap!
And I think this is the way interviews should look like. Beautiful!
He was and still is great.
When I see photos of Paul and Linda they were so affectionate with each other - always - and it was natural not staged -- you can see how close he was to her, she was nurturing and had a strong maternal side and for Paul who lost his mother when he was 14 that must have meant a lot to him - having a comforting wife - Linda had many admirable qualities, may she RIP, taken way before her time, God Bless the McCartney family!
"Sir Paul" (William) did not loose Mary when he was 14 years old. That loss belonged to the real James Paul McCartney.
@@olskzeri2723 yeah and the earth is flat too
Two amazing things. First, he made Mary's baby bed from potato boxes?! Very cool! What humility.
Second, Mary hardly goes a say without seeing or hearing something about her dad. Never thought of it from that perspective. Must be so strange for a kid to see their parent displayed like that constantly.
Really I'm going to test that theory and see if I can go a day without seeing anything about The Beatles.
i will go out on a limb and say Paul McCartney is the most well known, most recognized, most beloved man in the world.
The day that man dies, something profound will have been lost. The Fab Four were EVERYTHING.
Unbelievable. A fairly good interview with Paul and family. How does the BBC or Newsnight decide to go with a click bait Brexit title. Continually disappointed with the negative. In watching I took the brexit comments from Paul that we would make it through like we always do even though his opinion was it may have been a mistake. But that was not bar far the most interesting part of the interview.
I thought it WAS by far the most interesting part of the interview. These daughters--how dull!
I thought it was the most interesting bit.
@@lawsonj39 Oh Yes. Time to ask Paul questions showing he a conscious man. It seems lots of his fans just prefer him saying nothing really deep. Too bad. He is Paul, Beatle Paul. Remember his interview in the sixties. He would stand up and scream Ban the Bomb! He was the one who told naturally they had tried LSD... He is got brains! But most reporters only ask him the same shallow questions. I am sure he liked to have his chance to say something different.
As a matter of fact, it WAS a big mistake and the British are already paying for it...
Paul just seems so anxious when he has to share the spotlight, even with his daughters. Of course maybe any parent is a bit nervous that their kids will say something to embarrass them.
Absolutely agree...never know what will come out of their mouths..even if they're older! Lol
That's just stupid. He don't seem nervous at all.

At one time she had a vegetarian frozen food line. I bought the pasta with with faux meat sauce. I was so surprised at how delicious it tasted & couldn't believe it wasn't actual meat. She really knew what she was doing when it came to food! Unfortunately for some reason her frozen food line was discontinued. Pity.
10:20 Actually JOHN came up with All You Need Is Love. Whoever sang the lead, was the one who wrote the song in The Beatles. Except Do You Want to Know a Secret, which John wrote for George and all the RIngo songs were obviously written by John and Paul (Except Octopuses Garden which was written by Ringo) They were all wonderfully talented.
John wrote Day Tripper, but Paul sang the lead...
So many famous people are so private with their life, witch is great. But seeing great pictures of a man who’s family inspired him to write beautiful music that changed to world is so cool. You can see where a lot of his music comes from.Thank you Mccartney family.(AZ)
It is easy to give out the impression that you are "oPeN" when your whole life since late 1966 have been based off on that of a dead man.
Nobody knows William behind his Paul-charade.
A very pleasant watch! Gotta love the McCartney's.
Why?
Linda McCartney was a natural brilliant mum I as a child could feel the love she exuded plus she looked like my mum I loved her. I know a lady who was very close to Mrs Linda McCartney she worked with her and paul and she is also my mums age she is also a saint like Mrs McCartney and my mum god bless all of them.
His daughter sitting on his left looks just like him. You can see him in her eyes!
Credit to McCartney for not taking more credit than is due to him, especially now that John and George are no longer around to correct him about who wrote what. Lennon can add nothing to the public record after 1980. The same applies to George after 2001.
William have taken much credit considering he didn't join Beatles until late 1966.
It was probably documented at the time who wrote what, so he can't go back on what was said previously. Paul writing Yesterday was known in the 60s, along with other songs.
Mary McCartney is so pretty. She reminds me of Linda.
And Paul!
@@thebaobabs206 No, I meant Mary has Linda's eyes. Those kind, sweet eyes that attracted Paul to Linda.
I agree. Of the McCartney children, other than Heather, Mary reminds me the most of Linda.

So out of a 12 minute video on which about 90 seconds of footage was manoeuvred towards Brexit, the BBC come up with a title of "Paul McCartney says Brexit vote was probably a mistake" !!! No Bias there then 🙄

I love Linda McCartney. She was super duper cool. So down to earth and not at all materialistic. I think she helped him so much. I feel calmer when I hear her in interviews. She made it seem like all is well and everything will work out. Miss her. She was a rare gem and wanted to be in with the rest of us. She said it was more fun. She really knew that we are all the same. Paul was lucky.
Google the "Linda tapes"
Sir Paul, beautiful family, thank you.
Paul does not live next to a street full of Eastern European gangs. I have been a victim of theft and crash for cash by these gangs and our police are spent most of the time chasing immigrants. I remember Paul from before they were famous, can't leave your door open now.
Apropos Brexit: "Give Ireland back to the Irish. Don't make them have to [receive it back again]".
People really trash anyone with a different view huh? Paul has always been left wing and that’s pretty evident from his music and history of activism/philanthropy if you’re mad now you haven’t been paying attention
Why is not being in the EU not left-wing? Millions of left-wing people voted for Brexit. The Labour manifesto of the 1983 general election promised immediate Brexit.
One of the first female photographers? Have you never googled Female Photographers? Are you rewriting history?

This is what I mean. If you don't know why the title of this video is:
*Paul McCartney: Brexit vote was 'probably mistake' - BBC Newsnight*
--- instead of:
*Paul McCartney: 'Brexit vote was probably mistake' - BBC Newsnight*
Then you need to wise up to the BBC's propaganda tactics!
.
And the meaning is different because? Do you understand the meaning of a quote punctuation?
@@j.criquette3334 If you want me to 'spell it out' for you:
Paul didn't intend or say 'Brexit vote was probably mistake'.
However, the BBC write it like that hoping the reader would infer that Paul thinks, the *VOTE TO LEAVE* was a mistake.
Subtle but, huge difference!
.
@@StuMas It's one thing to be simply ignorant about something. It's another thing to be stubborn about it. But if you want me to spell it out for you.
This is where he says "probably a mistake"
ua-cam.com/video/oAgtFP4ZfcY/v-deo.html
"It's been thrust upon us by the referendum. There was probably a mistake."
Since it could be unclear what he is referring to as "There" the BBC decided (not inconceivably with McCartney's approval) to add the words "Brexit vote" before the actual quote of "probably a mistake". I suppose you can argue, if you wish, that they were putting words in his mouth, but that would be silly because that's why they only quoted "probably a mistake". I suppose you can argue that they were changing his meaning, but that would also be silly because he is talking about Brexit. Of course since that word wasn't exactly used by him or the questioner, I suppose you can argue that he's talking something else, but he refers to the "referendum" and how many have there been since the Brexit referendum?
Quod erat demonstrandum
Of course if you wish to argue to the BBC that the headline should have been about Linda McCartney rather than Brexit, by all means, go have at it, and have a nice day.
@@j.criquette3334 I agree. But I really wasn't suggesting he meant the first referendum (if there was one) in the early 70's to get us in the EU.
*My gripe is with the BBC's anti-brexit policy*

I thought it was a very nice interview, I enjoy listening to him speaking and the civility and down to earth conversation, who cares if they can remember what happened when, it really doesn't matter. I do wish people would stop weighing up a conversation on the rights and wrongs. If you heard what Paul said he can't remember many things because his life was so full.
