Yesterday, Oct 4th we lost Lizzie Bravo, the brazilian girl who was backing vocals on Beatles' song Across the Universe (the Past Masters version - 1988). RIP.
My dad was a Texas cattle rancher, and we were raised to eat beef every single day. I moved to California when I was 30, and recently was stuck on Interstate 10 behind a traffic accident. The vehicle in front of me was a cattle truck with cows I knew were on their way to slaughter. For more than 30 minutes, those cattle stared at me with terror in their eyes. I wanted so much to open the back of the trailer and release them, but I didn't have the courage (or the tools). From that moment, I've had a strong desire to stop eating meat. I have no idea how to cook that way, and I'm not very keen on veg, but I'm ordering this book in hopes that I can successfully make the switch. I used to work for Ellen DeGeneres, and her chef once made me a vegan dish that I loved, yet I know that there were vegetables in that dish I'd never think about touching in their raw state. I'm very hopeful that this cookbook will help me make the transition to a healthier, more humane lifestyle.
Hey Allison, good on you! it gets easier every day, so many options of plant based mince, nuggets, patties.. the only thing I regret about being vegan is that I didn’t do it sooner
But doesn't it bother you that plants react to fear and perhaps pain also . Something to consider . Animal protein is what increased early man's brain power to help us to become who we are today. It seems that humans were made to eat meat , or at least eat fish , eggs and cheese .
I once was on the 60 freeway here in Los Angeles and there was traffic due to a huge truck tipping over and the truck happened to be carrying pigs and those pigs were running around all over through the stopped traffic and it broke my heart to see them all running away. I interpreted it as they were literally running for their lives. I was already a vegetarian at that time but it really made me wish more people would see these animals as equals.
“ Her chef “ There are some people I just know I would never like to respect ,and Degeneres is on top of the list. No offence to you of course . I hope you successfully make the leap off meat . Bon chance ,
@@SydneyDrums I've started with the discovery of those pre-packaged salads. Those are working. We have the McCartney cookbooks now, too. The new one is wrapped as a Christmas present, but we did use Linda's cookbook for Shepard's Pie. That was actually wonderful. Inch by inch. Step by Step or, as Ted Lasso would say, bird by bird.
I loved this lighted interview. The chemistry between Paul and his daughters is wonderful. Loved the funny part about the kids excitedly asking mom and dad if they could try the bbq chicken on the beach and Paul saying, “by all means try it” and then jokingly saying, “traitor”. lol. I’m not vegan, but certainly getting closer. I’m a minister of the gospel and recently I had a dream where Jesus invited me up to heaven to hang out and play Beatles music with him. Since then my love for Beatles music has been rekindled, especially Paul’s melodic love songs. I’m now praying for Paul everyday because I’m blown away by this man who is 80 years old and still doing concerts. Amazing!
Such a great interview, I'm a 14 year old from Hyderabad, India 🇮🇳, the beatles music was passed on to me by my parents particularly my mother she was and still is a huge mccartney fan girl, Sir Paul mccartney is a literally the biggest and most famous rock star even today and I recently read about his wife Linda and she's a true inspiration, Mr mccartney all I wanna say your music has thought me more things than any other person ❤.
It's so easy to be a vegetarian/vegan nowadays. I stopped eating meat 40 odd years ago, when I was 9 yrs old and it was quite nightmarish finding good food (luckily my Mum was incredibly supportive, although we did go through the "experimental" period). I had Linda's first vegi cookbook (Christmas present from my Mum) which was amazing but it was full of recipes that used manufactured vegi burgers, rashers etc which weren't even available in the UK at the time. I hasten to add that situation improved quickly thanks to Linda's burgers, sausages etc! Linda is so missed, what an amazing woman she was.
Paul and Linda’s marriage was something to behold. So pure. They were totally dedicated to their family and their homestead. Her death affected me deeply. This is a great testament to her appreciation of the natural world and the power of nurturing a sense of family. Just wow.
This is so wonderful honoring Linda's legacy. She was a vegan pioneer, great musician and loving wife. Her and Paul's daughters seem like wonderful, caring and thoughtful people. Quite talented as well. Romesh, you seem like a nice person and are a great interviewer but PLEASE learn how to cook. It's not complex or intimidating and yet so liberating. You have fantastic mentors if you want. Thanks, all.
What a nice family, a tribute to wonderful woman who never really got credit for being a seminal, creative talent who did so many things. I have met people in Tucson who chanced upon Linda when she spent the winter months there. They invariably comment on how gracious she was.
I LOVE this! I also LOVE how Paul and Linda clicked. Their lives together were all about love, in so many forms. Love for one another, for family, for animals, for the earth, for music. I adore animals! I am a professional cellist with 3 cats, 3 dogs, I had a beautiful Arabian mare for 21 years. I rescued animals and since I was a wee child, I used to cry when I realized what most food was. The planet would be much better off if all humans stopped eating meat. Animals have a right to live wonderful happy lives, just as much as we do. Humans are so cruel to the most amazing creatures on this earth. Thanks to Paul and his daughters for promoting healthy vegan life! ❤
I'm not a vegetarian and totally respect those that are but it's so nice and refreshing to see and hear Paul and his family talk about something other than music or show business. And I'm a huge Beatles fan but this clip gives you a glimpse of him and his family just talking about everyday living. Just like any other family! Thanks for posting this! Merry Christmas!
@Topazthecat Agreed. Yep she took some fantastic photos of her family, musicians, all sorts of scenes but most importantly a wife, mother and animal lover. 🐕🐶😻😺
I saw Paul and Linda with their Band Wings in Seattle in June of 1976, the first concert ever in the Kingdome; big fan of whatever he does pretty much.
When I became vegetarian in the ‘90’s I ordered something at Taco Bell without meat and the entire staff laughed at me. It was so strange. I didn’t get angry but I thought it was sad that there was such ignorance. Linda McCartney was brilliant. Her cookbook truly impacted the world. And this chat with her husband & girls is just so wonderful. Thank you.
What a lovely family. Linda is sorely missed. I actually turned veggie after reading her introduction to her first book, which explained why she was vegetarian and it made a lot of sense to me.
This was great to see Sir Paul McCartney and daughters talking about their “Mum” Linda McCartney with a new cookbook and the lifestyle of growing up in the McCartney household living in the country back in the early days eating vegetarian 🌱 good healthy eating is what it’s all about right especially these days where everything is fast food everywhere all you need is love thank you all McCartney family peace and love always ✌️as Ringo would say.
Genuine random thoughts here- healthy eating really? Linda McCartney died at 56. Deprived of certain nutrients. All that sugar! Stella - trust me - everyone was eating quiche Lorraine in the 70's.
Very moving, I grew up listening to Paul Mccartney's music and became vegetarian at 13. Now I'm 46. I was the only one in my family or in my town. There were no tofu or soya beans to be found... No health shops... This is a real revolution. Much gratitude for the Mccartney family for their light, positivity and example 💙💙💙
Hi Sir Paul and girls Will be buying this book as soon as possible. What a special gesture to your late wife and from your daughters also. There is plethora of food to eat if you're vegetarian. I am not into veganism. Thank you for reminding us of Linda's innotiveness so far ahead of her time before the world understood👏🎊👏
Kudos to Paul McCartney and his beautiful family. A successful talented brilliant man raised wonderful intelligent beautiful children. Enjoyed this interview thoroughly.
Always loved Linda and was so grateful when she first brought out her veggie food and cookbooks and still enjoy the veg burgers to this day! Lady of great compassion. Lovely that her family are discussing it and paying tribute to her🙏💚👏
This was so enjoyable. I've been a vegetarian for the past 32 years thanks to a free dish of vegetarian food from the Hare Krishnas at an Earth Day celebration in Chicago and the free book they handed me with the meal, "Diet for a Small Planet," which I read from cover to cover. Linda McCartney's book helped me along the way. I've become a lazy chef though and I think this new book may inspire me to cook again!
I just ordered the book. Beautiful story, and I feel the sincere passion in Linda which has translated to those amazing girls. Adored Paul for 50 years! Fabulous show!!!
I know Linda would be so proud! Mary's show is excellent. I know she's taken a number of her mom's great homemade vegetarian meals and really kicked them up a notch. I have Linda's cookbooks and I've practically worn them out. Her veggie breakfast sausages are awesome. Two big thumbs up for the show and thank you for giving the recipes in American units of measure for those of us that are hopeless at converting metric measurements. Bravo!
I come from a family that's very fond of eating meat and fish. Over a year ago, I announced that I won't eat them again. My family apparently didn't take me seriously at that time but they were surprised to see me stick to my word. I've been asked multiple times by people about why I quit eating fish and meat. My response has always been, "For the love of them." Well, they find it kiddish and silly since me, alone, not feasting on nonveg food isn't going to help the environment much, but who cares about what they think, right? I love nature and it includes everything and everybody in it! You know who taught me the significance and beauty of peace, love and oneness? Those four beautiful people! Yes, The Beatles(my family, they are...). You, my four friends, have changed my life so much and for only the best that I can never sufficiently thank you for it. I've decided to walk on the path of your beautiful messages for the rest of my life. George, Paul, Ringo and John, I love you! *PEACE AND LOVE!* ✌❤
I’m a proud 10 year vegan. Started at 52 years old. Feeling better than ever before. And doing my part for animal advocacy and the Earth. I’m very happy that it’s catching and growing exponentially. You got in my head decades ago at your concert with Linda at Chicago’s Soldier Field when you showed slaughter movies during the show.
I always loved Linda. She was so authentic, so unpretentious. I have friends who met her way back in the 70's and 80's and always said how lovely and kind she was. I was brought up vegetarian also because my mother loved animals and couldn't bear for them to be slaughtered. I rebelled too and ate some meat when I was young. But that didn't last long. Linda and Paul really helped those of us who were already veggo. A great legacy lives on.
Paul and His Girls have done a Brilliant Job with this Revision. He is still very down to earth, and you can see the Love they all have for beloved Linda. She truly was Avant Gard. There is a lot of cohesiveness and comradery here. Paul, you've done a fine job on many accounts, and on many levels. This is as Good as it gets! Beloved! ❤
This family is the best influence for what kids now (me) should strive for. Thank you Linda, Paul, Mary, and Stella for being such a down to earth and humble family.
Aloha, I so appreciate your sharing Linda’s love of animals, raising a family with you Sir Paul with a passion for good health for all living things! Her legacy lives so lovingly in your family and it lives in us; that we’re lucky enough to grow along with you. I am so thankful and I can’t wait to get this wonderful book and encourage others. Mahalo nunui🌺 Such a warm conversation 😋🥰💖♥️
What a great conversation! I think I remember seeing Linda and Paul in their kitchen talking about her first book. Linda was definitely ahead of her time. And probably too nice to look down on us and say "I told you so".
I remember feeling so happy to provide Linda with a Rose in celebration for Her Book Opening in Chicago. Miss her veggie beauty education. Thanks to the 4 of you for this great casual and fun talk!
Stella's point well taken: "Something is better than nothing." Last night I ate entirely vegetarian. It was delicious. The goal? Add to that. When people build on an idea, it grows steam. This conversation is wonderful, and lovely to see the fam, Paul, Mary, and Stella. Love it. And THANK YOU.
What a great family. I always have Linda’s sausage in my freezer she was so ahead of her time. Her girls are beautifulxxxxxx. Paul as always is adorablexxxxxx
There. was an interview with his brother. The interview was not long after the breakup of the Beatles. Paul's brother was asked about all of the emotional ramifications that went with it. He said only so protectively, "Our. Boy" so supportive, so sweet. I am so glad he has the love and support of his children. Linda must have been a wonderful wife and mother.
I feel so identified with what they're saying...I've been vegetarian all my life & vegan for the last few years...and Linda McCartney was a pioneer among the famous people at the time & that was so cool!
I'm really proud that Paul is our Patron here at the Vegetarian Society in the UK - the oldest vegetarian society in the world - we've been campaigning since 1847
Enjoyed this lovely interview. Vegetarian for 12 years vegan for three. Will look for this book. Look at Paul's concerts three hours straight, so much energy.
Linda was an amazing woman...natural, creative, unaffected and beautiful in a way that has so much to teach the young people of today. Her cookbooks are wonderful, and long have provided that extra push that is sometimes needed for one to embrace a meat-free lifestyle. This new volume will be much welcomed ❤️
As a kid, I was always interested in working in animal welfare in some way. But I have to admit that the very early public moves by Linda and Paul to animal rights and veggie diets really started to open my eyes to the contradiction of loving animals, while eating some of them. It took more than half my life to jump in fully to not eating meat or the animal products of factory farms. Lots of little steps cutting out this and that, eliminating things as I could come to grips and find alternatives. All the while, I would think of Linda and Paul, who led the way for many of us. All I can say now, is thank you both for just being brave enough to live life on your own terms, and opening the eyes of so many to the fact that we can choose to be better than our baser food instincts. Thank you, and lots of love to the whole family.
Stella makes a terrific point about the working conditions for abattoir workers and that includes in wealthy nations. Insecure, low paid, labour hire and also heavily exposed to coronavirus.
Check out 'Greenhouses in Almeria Spain', the pollution that pours constantly into the ocean from them are an environmental disaster and the African workers are basically slaves paid to harvest the vegetables and fruit for less than minimum wage.
I'm thinking of buying the book. These types of cookbooks are not always easy for non-cooks to follow but she was a down to earth, practical kind of person & from the sound of it a self-taught vegetarian cook, so maybe I'll be re-inspired.
It would be very interesting to hear the adult children’s story of their childhood years being raised in the McCartney household and all their experiences and how they created a life of their own.
I live quite close to Fairlight. It's a beautiful area. Linda came across as a lovely human being. It seems she cared for all life. I must admit I hate cooking and my first instinct is meat and two veg. I will try to have a veggie day though after watching this as an ode to Linda. RIP Linda McCartney ❤
I went veggie in 1973 thanks to Linda and Paul.. And also knew George Harrison was veggie. Since 2010 have been vegan with my wife Dana... Bravo all!!!

I'm now vegan, but I was a teenager in 1976 when I went vegetarian. Thank you, Linda for being a great influence.
Where do you get your protein from? How do you limit your carbohydrates?
Vegan is a religious cult, dont you mean Vegetarian
Go carnivore. 😊
@@A_M_P_ COMPLEX carbs are healthy. Plants have protein. It's that simple.
Linda was never Vegan. Nor is Paul.
@@metalguru5226 you are right with Linda, but Paul is vegan now.
@@koppiman Last time I heard him address this in 2019, he said he still eats dairy. I hope he's changed since.
Lots of love to his wonderful family. Linda would be glad to see her family keep going 💚
Linda was one of a kind. She was a great mother, wife, musician & animal lover. She is greatly missed. 😻🐶🐕❣🌻
@Topazthecat Agreed. Yep she took some fantastic photos of her family, musicians, all sorts of scenes but most importantly a wife, mother and animal lover. 🐕🐶😻😺
We’ve ALWAYS LOVED LINDA. Even from the beginning as a just a Mom/photographer. She was SPECIAL …
Linda McCartney's original cookbooks taught me how to cook veggie. She was my hero! She taught me so much.
So healthy she died young. All that nasty processed 'food'.
Love them all. Linda's legacy is wonderful to behold.
I saw Paul and Linda with their Band Wings in Seattle in June of 1976, the first concert ever in the Kingdome; big fan of whatever he does pretty much.
I love when sister's talk in unison, and you get it all like one is speaking.
Same in our house, Lovely family, God bless.
Thank you.
They were laughing because their food doesn't have real meat in it in the first place.
Im not veggie so i must ask: Where do you get your protein? How do you limit your carbs?
Tbh its not that sad tbh. You got to taco bell for a taco with meat in it
What a lovely family.
😘 💗 de France 🇨🇵
Well said Steve...
Have always admired Linda. This is a lovely way of keeping her wonderful legacy alive. ⭐️
So healthy she died early. Awful processed junk food.
Hi Sir Paul and girls
Will be buying this book as soon as possible.
@PaulMcCartneymusicinc thank you
@PaulMcCartneymusicinc I will be attending my first in June. I look forward to it! I have been a fan since I was a small child.
A beautiful family. What a joy to watch you all talk about your family life, I feel very privileged.
Paul's face at 29:05 is so funny to me. That's the most genuine i've ever seen him after a compliment i can tell he's really proud of his sandwhiches.
I love this so much! Linda is simply a lovely soul!! Such a beautiful way to honor her memory and principles!
Hello my biggest fan ❤️❤️
Linda’s left a wonderful legacy 🧚🏼♀️
You are a wonderful songwriter, musician, and positive influence for our world! Love you, Sir Paul and thank you!
Beautiful Family 🧡 Linda's spirit, of course, is there too
My favorite line was Linda (according to Paul) saying "but his mom loves it" about a frog!
What a lovely human being.
Great discussion about an important topic, seeing 'the kids' is a real blast, thank you for living so long Paul 👍
Great interview. Linda was a wonderful person and became such a stalwart member of Wings. She and Paul raised such beautiful daughters.
Can't wait. Always loved Linda she was good for you Paul.
What a lovely day with the Mccartneys, watching them live and receiving my copy of Paul's Green Submarine book!! Live to you all!!
Love the McCartney family & love your caring ways & of course love Paul's music. Veggie rules 🥰❤
❤I’m going to get the cookbook!
I just ordered the hardcover version! I have the previous version, and I loved her frozen meals. Seeing the daughters with their dad warms my heart!
What a great family. I always have Linda’s sausage in my freezer she was so ahead of her time. Her girls are beautifulxxxxxx. Paul as always is adorablexxxxxx
So much was made about the big love story between John and Yoko, but I think Linda and Paul were truly in love
There. was an interview with his brother.
What a blessing
I feel so identified with what they're saying...I've been vegetarian all my life & vegan for the last few years...and Linda McCartney was a pioneer among the famous people at the time & that was so cool!
@PaulMcCartneyMusic my pleasure! 💜 from Chile!
I love that they have updated her cookbook to the current times! So Smart!!
If only the world were filled with people like Linda she was forward thinking yet did things in her own gentle way❤
Linda was an amazing woman...natural, creative, unaffected and beautiful in a way that has so much to teach the young people of today. Her cookbooks are wonderful, and long have provided that extra push that is sometimes needed for one to embrace a meat-free lifestyle. This new volume will be much welcomed ❤️
Hi McCartney. I'm from the city of Santos. 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Peace and love for you ✌
That was awesome. What a great chat - all four really added to the conversation. Now, I’m going to buy that book!
I met Linda in 1975! I was a teenager. She was so lovely to me.
A lovely chat with the mcartneys .a wholesome and down to earth family.it was a privilege to see sir Paul perform at Abu Dhabi in 2011.
Very cool to think she was ahead of her time. Loved in life and death great that she is also getting the appreciation she so rightfully deserves.
I'm thinking the same, she seemed like simple is better
It would be very interesting to hear the adult children’s story of their childhood years being raised in the McCartney household and all their experiences and how they created a life of their own.
I felt I was i the room with these guys. A wonderful conversation to witness. What a lovely way to honour Linda.
I paused the video, and ordered the book. Been vegan for 10 years, excited to get this book. ❤️💕❤️
What a privilege to spend an hour with this inspirational family.
Instead of the zombies on all the tv shows nowadays
Every animal I have met whether domestic or wild have unique and and very individual personalities. So many wild birds visit the garden here and they truly have beautiful natures Animals are too beautiful to eat and truly not necessary for health and well being. Thank you for this interesting video. ❤ and I cant say it enough thank you for the music, Paul, Linda, Wings, Beatles. This video just adds to the magic.
Dear Paul, today is Meat Free Monday ! Well, I'm happy to haveThe Meat Free Monday always with me in the kitchen and I'm very excited to listen to your "In Conversation" next wednesday evening ! I hope that if I can't listen at it on wednesday evening... I can as well listen at it the next evening ! Love You Dear Paul, Love Your Great Family ! Thanks to be always involved !
Hello
Hello my biggest fan ❤️❤️
McCartneys are a great role model.I am a vegetarian because i followed their exemple.I never regret that decision.Compassion for animals and respect for them is very important.
Awesome! Love the McCartney's and miss Linda. I'm so glad her legacy is being carried on.
Hi
You are a wonderful singer, songwriter, musician, and positive influence for citizens of our world! Love you, Sir Paul and thank you!
Jim and Mary would be so proud of the family you and Linda made.
Fabulous, wonderful conversation, and that's going on my Christmas lists immediately. Love you all.
