So happy that you're finally noticing the genius that is Steven Wilson. Another wonderful newer song is "Song of I" if you can find the live version. It's absolutely beautiful.
As someone who watched his brother/best friend kneel in front of his 6-month old son's coffin, I can say this video cuts straight to the core of your being if you've lost someone so precious.
Classic track from a classic album. Hand Cannot Erase is one of my all-time favorite albums. Not one bad song on the whole album. Thank you for sharing this treasure piece video.
Never watched this and not cried like a child. Having had a brother who lost a 6-month-old son I can fathom the despondency and feeling like there is simply nowhere to escape to to avoid the anguish. It's worse than death the emptiness and sadness. Steve Wilson is one of the best song writers of all time.
Excellent reaction video! This and Drive Home are some of the most powerful music/video experiences out there. Steven has always been a true champion of creating album's/songs that take the listener on a musical journey. He's fantastic at creating his own worlds with carefully considered curated tracks for his records that have an almost cinematic quality to them. You've got so much incredible material to look forward to! 😊
The silence from you two at the end says it all. So moving. Beautiful song. Wonderful video. Must also mention the fantastic Ninet Tayeb who sings the female parts. There's a video where she does all the parts of this song live at rehearsal in an an empty Royal Albert Hall. Worth watching. The video for Drive Home is also great!
That live video, with the RAH entirely empty, is AMAZING! That atmosphere is as good as it can be... That venue is huge, the seats go up and up.. Sadly in that show, Ninet didn'y appear in Ancestral.
I invited a friend a couple of years ago to have a coffee and I shared this video while we talked about favorite music of both, I listen to it and I must say that it made her but I couldn't help but notice that at the moment of the scream she shed several tears, several minutes of silence later and wiped her eyes she apologized and returned minutes later explaining that it reminded her of a family tragedy, I didn't know, I just showed him an example of one of my favorite musicians.
an Israeli singer songwriter. I have seen this video, maybe two dozen times, and I started to choke up as I watched your reaction. The first time I saw it, I did not figure it out until the very end. Suzie, as usual, was right on it.
One thing I love about you guys, is you take the time to look at the artistes behind the music, you don't just cut off early. When someone gives their soul to you in an artform,, the least we can do is stay to see them acknowledged. RESPECT!
I haven’t heard this for a while. I thought to myself “I’ll see if it still has the same emotional impact” It brought back the tears, without fail. I always give my daughter a hug every chance I get.
Your reaction says it all. Sometimes there are no words, are there? I think the paper article said that her husband and their two sons had been killed in the shooting, not just her two sons. Please check out DRIVE HOME and THE RAVEN THAT REFUSED TO SING. They are his two other stunning animated videos.
First, I just want to give the two of you a big hug. Seriously! Steven Wilson is an under-appreciated genius (no matter how much you love him) - whether it's re-mastering other people's work or creating some of the most emotional music ever. Suzy was on this right away, the emotion on her face was striking, I was tearing up. My first exposure to this song was in concert back in 2015. He played the video behind the band. Between this and his masterpiece "The Raven That Refused To Sing", I was sitting in a puddle. Your silence was the perfect reaction - there is just nothing else one can do. I just love you both, you're such real people and you let us see and share that with you. Thanks, you two!!!
Steven Wilson is a genius, it takes a special talent to be able to rip a listener's heart out! Steven said he got the inspiration for this after listening to Kate Bush's song "Mrs. Bartolozzi" from her 2005 album Aerial (Steven is a huge fan of Kate), about a woman who deals with the grief of losing her husband by throwing herself into the household chores
You’ll love DRIVE HOME but also do ANAETHETIZE in the live Tilburg concert version - breathtaking. And you MUST do the RAVEN WHO REFUSED TO SING animation.
You simply MUST do Drive Home now. Another heartbreakingly beautiful, magical song- and the video was done by Jess Cope as well. It's one of the best things I have ever seen or heard
I was wondering which one of you would break first. Pure genius is this, should come with a warning though.. Drive Home and The Raven That Refused To Sing next because it's kind of a trilogy. Then after all the gulping and floods of tears please say which one is the most emotional and why please.. :) This is my favourite reaction from you guys, it clearly touched you .. I guess the way it would touch any human with a good amount of empathy and love within them, awesome reaction..
Steven is f.....g genius and Porcupine Tree was a great band. Even the guys he plays with in his solo career are all individually fenomenal musicians. Btw i would suggest to react to SONG OF UNBORN. I mean very few names that song, but to me it is another Masterpiece (as well as the track's video). I think you'll enjoy it. 😁 P. S. : i really like your genuine reactions. 👏
GUYSSS, you shouldn't have done background check on this song. The beauty of this song lies on the video that will eventually reveal the story. Great reaction btw
Don't forget her husband died in the shooting too. She was trying to cope alone. I think the letters were addressed to him. Just typical business post etc.
Dude, you are the worst at pausing, you killed the Guthrie Govan solo and just in the middle of the scream which is the best climax that always gives me chills and breaks me down. You seriously paused it there? XD You are revoked from your privilages to use the space bar.
An artist attempting to convey the hurt and devastation of losing loved ones, is not worshiping death. Sorrow is real and you don't worship that kind of pain. You missed the whole point, didn't you?
1:21 You all ready?
- NO... I'm not ready... You're both not ready... You, reading this, are not ready... Such a punch in the middle of the soul...
this whole album Hand. Cannot. Erase. is a masterwork. there are basically no weak tracks on it.
it's a magnum opus alright. it's too emotional for me to listen to though. hits a few too many nerves if you know what i mean. dangerous territory.
The smiles on both of your faces at the beginning, how cute. Steven Wilson will set that right.
So happy that you're finally noticing the genius that is Steven Wilson. Another wonderful newer song is "Song of I" if you can find the live version. It's absolutely beautiful.
Drive Home?! Do it!
It's the best of the best of Steven Wilson.
@@tripham1884 I prefer Routine but Drive Home is almost perfect
As someone who watched his brother/best friend kneel in front of his 6-month old son's coffin, I can say this video cuts straight to the core of your being if you've lost someone so precious.
Im crying seeing you video. What a beautiful piece from SW.

Done ever let go(of their memories)
try to let go(of the memory that snatched them from you)
Masterpiece!!
This is one of the most heartbreakingly beautiful songs I've ever heard. SW is a genius.
The Animation is Jess Cope. She is outstanding... I'm sure you've heard her name by now.
I am awash with tears...as always when viewing this video....thank you for sharing your experience with us.
With the buzz of the bees in the jasmine sway. Such poetry
If you watch this without tears you are not human
"The bananas have brown on them guys" I love you two.
Oh man. Drive home is just as beautifully crafted as Routine.
Love this reaction. So emotional, si perfect and Steve Wilson is increíble.. Nice greetings from Ecuador
This song has this effect on everyone, leaves you speechless

"The Raven That Refused to Sing" is the one you want.
Fantastic genuine and insightful reaction. Loved it, thank you. One of. My favourite songs. Drive home is incredible too! Take care.

The newspaper article stated the father was killed in the shooting, too. This song and video has no equal. There's nothing like it.
I haven’t heard this for a while. I thought to myself “I’ll see if it still has the same emotional impact” It brought back the tears, without fail. I always give my daughter a hug every chance I get.

If this video, the music and the lyrics don't make you cry then you aren't human!
The live version rehearsel in the Royal Albert Hall is also fantastic. You must see this!
Thank you for reacting to this emotional masterpiece.Greetz from Belgium.

Steven Wilson bringing on the feels again... so good👏
Thx so much guys 😎 great reaction to a very emotional song. Brilliant video. Steven Wilson is a genius.
anytime i listen to this song it reminds me that i'm not dead inside since it gets my every time.
It seems that the song was covering the stages of grief from denial at the start to acceptance at the end.
Absolutely, 100% the most appropriate reaction to this work of art.
Thank you so much for this one. A friend showed it to me not long ago and it broke my heart. The animation is sublime as well. Anyway, take care!
Steven Wilson - Perfect Life live
You’ll love DRIVE HOME but also do ANAETHETIZE in the live Tilburg concert version - breathtaking. And you MUST do the RAVEN WHO REFUSED TO SING animation.
Tony Blaine's son (as in the former English Prime Minister) sang the part around 5:50.
Thank you for watching the credits! Took a lot of people to the make film.
"Don't ever let go. But try to let go."
You guys held it together. A few tidbits- the female, with the amazing gritty voice, is Nanet Tayeb
Las genialidades de Steven y ahora re feliz con la vuelta de Porcupine Tree...fans de su canal 🎶🎵🇦🇷
Drive Home is the one you need to react to next.. Powerful, emotional song as well.
Brilliant reaction again guys, look forward to the next Wilson / Ptree reaction 😃
Great reaction and a new subscriber 👍🙏
SW is great at Sad Songs. Drive Home is similar and Happy Returns even sadder, gets me every time
You simply MUST do Drive Home now. Another heartbreakingly beautiful, magical song- and the video was done by Jess Cope as well. It's one of the best things I have ever seen or heard
never heard of this song but the clip is just amazing!
Thank for react steve
I cried.
I did not know want to recommend this to you. I have so much I could say about this. Saddest song ever🥲
Not only her kids were killed in the school scooting but also her husband as he was a teacher.
Don't ever let go, try to let go.

Bet you weren't ready for that.
Excelente, muy triste.
Reaccionen a "Home Invasion" live Royal Albert Hall.
An amazing 5/8 part

Steven is a great record producer as well for Opeth.
Gut wrenching. I can’t say I enjoyed it because that would be insensitive. But I agree an absolutely beautiful video. Thanks for reviewing it.
1. Don't ever let go
2. Try to let go
GUYSSS, you shouldn't have done background check on this song. The beauty of this song lies on the video that will eventually reveal the story.
Great reaction btw
Great reaction ! Please do drive home or watchmaker plsss
Jess Cope made the animation.
Drain STH - I Don't Mind
In the video she lost her children as well as her husband as he worked a the school.
Father and two sons killed in school shooting.
Drive Home
Anesthetize - porcupine tree
Plz do it 😍
I would love to see your reaction to meatloaf Paradise By The Dashboard Lights:)
Stop cutting onions 😔
At times, I actually can't listen/watch this. Too much. Cheers
Sebnem ferah - Ben sarkimi soylerken reaction please!!
Suzie may want a routine, but I know this is one routine nobody wants to face.
10:40 THIS IST THE WORST STOP I HAVE EVER SEEN
Guys!!! Where is BABA YAGA - SLAUGHTER TO PREVAIL???!!! I NEED THIS!! XD
In my opinion the best song ever made. And why do normal pepoles need machineguns and so on. School shootings is such a sad thing!
Pretty sure her husband died trying to save the kids during a school shooting if I remember correctly.
pls react to strapping young lad Detox or Shitstorm
Don't forget her husband died in the shooting too. She was trying to cope alone. I think the letters were addressed to him. Just typical business post etc.
Actually, in the book, she kill her self. So sad.
Dude, you are the worst at pausing, you killed the Guthrie Govan solo and just in the middle of the scream which is the best climax that always gives me chills and breaks me down. You seriously paused it there? XD You are revoked from your privilages to use the space bar.
should've left the guy reactor out of this video, how can be pause on the scream? jeez...
Worst pause timing ever. one in the middle of the solo the other in the middle of the climax scream. As for the rest, good reaction.
Disappointed that you only talked about the video and not really the music...although they do go great together...
The female singer is Ninet Tayeb.
Enough with the death and sorrow worshipping.
An artist attempting to convey the hurt and devastation of losing loved ones, is not worshiping death. Sorrow is real and you don't worship that kind of pain. You missed the whole point, didn't you?
@@HammerHed13 oh no I didn't. I'm just tired of the theme. Since I am experiencing my own real sorrow I don't need some imaginary story about it.
