First of all, I watch a lot of reaction videos. But, now I’m watching yours. This is my new joint. You two are the most beautiful couple I have seen in a very long time. I mean it.
Steven Wilson is my favorite artist. This album and this song are among the most powerful and evocative he has ever written. I strongly recommend you see his performances live because if you think that was a powerful emotional experience, try sitting in a audience silently experiencing that song with extraordinary immersive visuals all around you. The entire crowd weeps and it’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever experienced.
This song hit me like it did you both when I saw the live performance just 3 months after my own wife’s death (we were together 24 years). I’m a white man and she was an African American woman. There’s so much about watching this reaction that touched me. I’m actually losing it a bit right now as i type this.
I encourage you to explore Steven Wilson’s catalog further as it just gets better and better. If you liked that song and video, I recommend Drive Home or The Raven That Refused to Sing from the album of the same name. Either of those will tear your heart out. Another emotional rollercoaster is I Drive the Hearse by Porcupine Tree, also written by Steven Wilson.
Please keep doing this: exploring progressive rock music and sharing your love for music and for each other in this channel.
    ❤️🤘🏼

That moved me so much! I weeped irrepressibly for about half an hour.
I could relate to this song a lot. I've been to places like those (even not for the same reasons) holding on the day routine to keep on moving to avoid crumbling. And sometimes I would scream where no-one would hear me cry to kind of release some of the pain, even if the physical pain cannot be silenced.
That was a beautiful song. Thank you for sharing those golden nuggets.

Ok.. firstly, Thank you for sharing this.
    The ultimate reaction.
The first time I saw this, Steven Wilson played it on a huge cinema like screen on stage with him and his band performing it.
Secondly, your emotion is true and pure, I wanted to hug you both.
Thirdly... if you got this far,
Try Steven Wilson's The Raven That Refused to Sing
Steven Wilson's Refuge unofficial video and the songs Internal Lanscapes, Ariel and One Last Goodbye by Anathema.
    They are equally emotional.

SW is the king of melancholy and he has many, many songs that will bring out your emotions. His solo stuff has a tendency to be darker but there's plenty of PT songs that are very depressing. Weird that it can make you feel so good. It's hard to say where to start if you're interested in exploring more of his catalog, my favorite of his solo work is Grace for Drowning. On any album, it's not only the lyrics and subject matter, Steven also surrounds himself with some of the best musicians of our time, they know how to match the moods of the songs.

There are three pieces of music that move me to tears every time - Dream Theater, The Spirit Carries On, Routine by Steven Wilson and also Pariah, again by Steven Wilson.
I have seen Steven Wilson perform Routine three times with Ninet Tayeb singing, the last time was at the Royal Albert Hall. I have no problem admitting I just sobbed like a baby all the way through it. If this doesn't at least make you choke up you're just not listening properly.

    Fun fact:
The album that this track comes from is a concept record. It is loosely inspired by the true story of the strange and tragic death of Joyce Carol Vincent.
Joyce was a British woman in her mid-30s who sadly died in her apartment back in 2003. What makes her death notable is that her remains were not discovered until _2006._
Three whole years passed without anyone noticing that Joyce wasn't around anymore. None of her friends, family, or coworkers ever took the time out to check and see if she was alright.
Steven Wilson has long been one of my favorite musical artists. I've been a big fan since 2001.
I have a recommendation for you: it's one of Steven's most well known and emotionally moving songs. It's called _The Raven That Refused to Sing._

This is a beautifully painted story that anyone can relate to, anyone willing to go there anyway, which isn't always easy. Also gotta give it up for Ninet and how well her voice fits Steven's music. Thanks for the courage to upload this! This song is super emotional and a great story. Your reaction was wonderful and pure. If you haven't reacted to Steven Wilson's The Raven That refused to sing, do it. Both Routine and Raven broke me down but more so Raven for some reason. Take care!

Saw this and thought omg these poor people are about to be crushed. I would love to see you react to Drive Home by Steven Wilson. Also one of my favorite tracks by him which has taken on a whole new feeling for me after losing my brother in a way similar to the video and the song. If I could see people who appreciate the emotions in music like you guys react to it I would love it.

So far, saddest video on youtube for me was "mad world kiwi bird" where bird did painfully long and hard task, moving and binding trees horizontally on the high hill, and at the end jump from the top over them into death, just to feel how is it to fly above forest as other birds... And then I found Routine

Hi guys, this is a beautiful reaction to a song that touches me every time I listen to it and crumbles my soul when I watch it. I had the incredible pleasure of attending a screening of all Steven's music videos in this May alongside Mr Wilson and animator Jess Cope and it was an emotional experience. This song along with "Drive Home" and "The Raven That Refused to Sing" are masterful, intense pieces of music and animation.
Thank you for this. This visceral, emotional reaction is why I am such a fan of Steven Wilson.

I was so down and teary after originally watching this video. I enjoy Steven Wilson's music and this one is always hard to watch and now listen to. I can totally understand anyone crying in response to it. It is a terribly tragic story and I think I would be more worried if it didn't elicit some form of empathetic reaction. I almost cried seeing you guys cry. Glad this popped up in my feed! Thank you for sharing your genuine reaction!! :)

    Just thank you!

That reaction is the most brave show of emotion I have ever seen. Keep up the good work on your videos. Steven Wilson has a unique ability to bring melancholy and sadness into a song, but still make it beautiful. This is music that makes you think, and you cannot give a song any higher praise than that.

Great reaction from you both.... Im a 62 year old bloke, and everytime I watch this video/song, I cry like a child!! However I can listen to the song in the car, and it doesn't have the same impact. Steve Wilson has combined perfect music, lyrics, and motion, in a truly epic masterpiece. Im fairly new to your channel, and intend to watch whatever you choose to react to. Keep up the great work guys, and thank you.

I've come back to this reaction so many times since it was released. I love it so much, for so many reasons. But honestly, my favorite part is when Wolf gently removes Sistah's ear buds after the song is done. "It's ok baby. It's ok." That simple action and those simple words convey such pure love and acceptance. It's quite possibly one of the most tender and romantic gestures I've ever witnessed. It's just so, so beautiful.

No need to explain your reaction. If you have feelings, this will make you cry for sure. I cry every time I listen to this song. It’s a song one can go back to if one need it. For me it takes me back to when I lost a newborn child after 19 days, one of my twins. Those days were the worst roller coaster of my life. The words don’t ever let go, try to let go really hits me every time. Thank you for your reaction
