  • Beautiful Historic old house that was actually built in 1750. 20 some years before the Declaration of Independence was created! Don’t want to give too much history away too protect the location but was originally built for a well to do family in the upper middle class. Unfortunately the house has sat empty since the the 60’s-70’s so it’s been decades of neglect and ruin. Still had so many incredible antiques and beautiful woodwork inside. The rosette over the doors were especially unique along with the design along the staircase. Thanks for watching

Thank you for doing this house! I’m dying over the beds and other antiques that should be saved. Definitely extremely old. The thickness of the walls, the corner fireplaces… I love this one! I’m glad you braved the upstairs too. Stunning place!

This house is very early and very primitive. Original architectural elements, original wall and trim colours. It’s too bad there’s so much rubble and collapsed floors because it detracts from the ambiance of the rooms. I really don’t think that the state of this house exemplifies people living there in the 40’s though. I don’t see one item that looks like it’s from the 40’s. It looks like it’s been not lived in since the late 18 hundreds if not earlier.

As rough shape as this house is in, I still think it would be a dream to save. (this would probably take someone’s life long devotion). I loved the quirkyness of the room layout, the wide plank floors and work work, not to mention all the cool furniture left behind. It just has so much character. At 4:18 the sofa you showed I believe is called a recamier. Of all your videos this is in the top 10 favorite houses. Many thanks again, Kappy for a great video!!

A really, really neat house. This might be the oldest/most unmolested combination of a house you've ever shown us. It looks like it never had electricity, bathrooms or running water. An experienced couple might be able to save it, but they would need to get the house and a few acres for very little money, and probably have an architect in the family. Thanks for showing it to us.

What a wonderful find Kappy. Just heartbreaking to see it falling to ruin. The rock work was done by a master, I loved the arch doorway in the basement. To see the gorgeous antique furniture rotting away is devastating. It is just so hard to believe that whomever owns these pieces of history just lets them rot. The furniture alone cleaned up would bring a small fortune to them.

Oh, Kappy, you've outdone yourself this time! From that old kitchen with the wood burning stove, we can tell this house is something special!
That cabinet grand piano must have been the pride of the valley. I can imagine folks crowding around it for a Saturday Evening Singing. That room with its huge fireplace must have fairly rung with their voices! This was a happy house!
What a lovely banister! The graceful sweep of it's handrail belies a master Craftsman at work!
A pump organ! How delightful! That is a very early Singer, too! This house is simply filled with superlatives, with lovely antiques in every corner! I would have paid to be there with you, Kappy, seeing them for myself!
Dear Lord, son, PLEASE walk carefully in houses this old! I'd hate to see you fall through a floor!
That is a rope bed! Now that IS old!
A letter from 1941. We were watching what was going on in Europe, safe in America. We were so very different then.
Well, that explains the strange noises we heard! Mrs. Vulture has claimed this attic as her own nursery. Watch out, now, Kappy! Remember what baby vultures do when they're disturbed! Yuck!
Ah, the basement...it has such beautiful stonework. Great house, overall. I'm glad it has survived the decades, if not centuries.
This one's going on the greatest houses list, no doubt about it! Good find, Kappy. Great explore, vulture notwithstanding. I was proud of you, son, facing that bird down.
Thanks for another beautiful house, interesting antiques and a wildlife tour, all at once. Good on you!

He heard it announced in school, and he and his family listened to news on the radio !He remembered it like it was yesterday!

Yay! What an awesome fieldstone house. I loved all those staircase! And those bed truly are very old. They are the kind that you have to tighten every so often. I wish so much that these kinds of places could've been restored. The history of the way things were built back then. What a great find Kappy. Thanks for the background history too 😉

Wow, a time capsule! No bathroom! And all those antiques, some even look to be from when it was built. This is one of my all time favs of your explores! The house feels good to me. Too bad it is in such bad shape in so many areas. If it could just be rehabbed/ rebuilt, and keep some of the antiques in there ( the ones not all broken up or rusty)

That is such a cool old house, I can't believe all of the stuff that looks original to the house. 1750!! That IS just crazy that it's still standing! This house just has so much to look at. I can't believe all of the furniture left in it. The fireplaces are huge!! The wood work on the stairs by the old organ is beautiful!!! Those two beds frames look super old!! So much going on in that place with all that was left behind!! I wonder what kind of bird that was that startled you....... oh, a vulture you said. Wow, even more old beds in the attic! Love the old rocking chair at 16:55!! Thank you for showing the outside of the house as well!! Thanks for sharing this is so cool!! Peace, Kim ~

Love this! No vandals and no sign of modern life, hardly any thing seems to be after the 1940s, what a time capsule- and no indoor plumbing. The only electric appliance was that old stove - if it was even electric :) this house seems older in parts than early 1800s. Seems like first part of house was late 1700s with the wide/thick doorways - one of my favorites! Thanks for showing us!

This gorgeous property literally breaks my heart 💔 To abandoned & let all of the treasures, that this wonderful old home holds, be destroyed by nature, is a travesty!!! The absolutely beautiful grand piano & organ, doors, door casings, windows, window casings, banisters, fireplaces, antique wooden furniture, to the antique dishes, bottles & jars are absolutely breathtaking!!! It makes me sooo very sad to see that the owners of this property, do not care enough about this property that they have abandoned it😞😢😰
Thank you for sharing this wonderful adventure with us Kappy, I truly loved it 👍🙏💕

What an amazing place! Not too many homes like this still standing. Love that stone(?) exterior. And those big towering chimneys. I thought the interior walls were cement at 1st. I guess they're plaster. Solid home, sturdy materials. The basement was really unique and cool too. Such a great piece of history, this home! Literally a "rock" of a house! Kind of creepy, but all the better! You find the best places! Thanks a ton 👍

That piano has some great legs. I think that you're 150 pounds isn't going to cause the floors to suddenly cave in. But I get the hesitation. I was walking towards an abandoned house when I was 16 and all of a sudden heard a rattler. I stepped backwards and yelled for my brother and dad to bring the gun. It was a cool old house and had such neat old appliances and fixtures.

Very interesting very early house. Unmolested with what is likely some of the original furniture still in it. The "rope" beds are likely from the early/mid 1800's, the Empire bureaus from mid to late 1800's, the oak is about turn of the century, and is the newest that I saw. Likely all of it was new when moved into the house, as was likely the piano which I think is early 1800's. Very unusual that the house was never upgraded - even the paint is very very old. Glad you protect the location as it hasn't been ruined with graffiti or looted.

My grandmother had some of the cast iron skillets like those hanging in that pantry when you first walked in. I sure love those old doors. That wind scared me too. Lordy. I sure do want that wooden shelf /mirror with all those bottles. Odd stair railings to go with the stairs there. They almost look too thin to be functional. Beautiful tho. I'd love a closer look at that old sewing machine in that room. Beautiful upstairs fireplace. That bed to the right is so old, you can see the ropes that helped support the mattress there on the frame. I'd love to have that old wooden box that says SURGE on the side. What a find, and different too. Really cool. Ewwww. A vulture. It startled me there. That attic is huge. And full of awesome stuff. Bet it was gorgeous in the day. The stone in the basement is really impressive. I liked this old girl, and the rustling grass outside.
