That would have been an awesome neighborhood to have grown up in. Modest well kept homes with big yards to play in. Glad you got to show us before it was no more.
Ethan, there’s a product called “Hot Hands” and “Hot feet” Please don’t chance 🥶 frostbite, or hypothermia, You’re a world wide treasure showing us around our people’s history, and architecture, and You are the ⭐️ Star of your show, and knowing that you have buddies around with you doing their vids close by is always good. No sign of animals, even the spiders ran south.unless a mouse is hiding in there, and no bear growls 😅 👍✅💖Stay safe always ❣️
Those refillable Zippo ones are the best IMO. They last all day, and you can fill them back up with regular naphtha. Stick them in your pockets, or get some gloves that have dedicated pouches for those things.
Hard to look at these homes empty and see so so many homeless! Saw a person that had his tent on fire it was sad. I would have been happy to live in a house as big. Very cool!
The first house is VERY nice. All the bathrooms; flooring; stairs; doors; bathtubs; even the kitchen I like (and I'm picky about kitchens). Whatever men built that home, did a FABULOUS job. Thanks for showing, I love to see the houses from the past, that are so beautiful even today. Timeless, really.
Sad to see entire neighborhoods slated for demolition. Those homes especially the last one, were adorable. Wish someone could have cut and removed the wall with all of the handprints and framed it for previous owners or whomever in that family wanted to keep it. It’s sad when old pictures are left behind also. If I were living with that eyesore of an apartment building looming over my home I doubt if I’d want to stay there and look at it everytime I walked outside. I guess there will only be “modern” new homes pretty soon and those desiring more space surrounding their home will need to spread further and further out into the country for peace. Homes that have stood the test of time should be able to remain standing. Thanks Ethan for braving the cold to share these homes. Go find a fireplace and a warm drink and enjoy that feeling of thawing out your frozen toes and just being warm. Take care of yourself, be well and warm, and stay safe!
Along with my last comment this neighborhood looks like a typical middle class family homeowners working class families. It sure looks like a nice neighborhood at one time, at least in my observation and I really like the first house because of the entranceway when you go into you got the tri level to go up and it was an open floor plan, I like that concept anyways you take care and be safe and stay warm.🫶🏻🤠
Ethan I live in Florida. I watch u all the time. I love the way u show these houses that have been abandoned…. I have a suggestion on how to keep warm in Canada. U see I moved from Michigan to Florida cause I was frozen there. A few years ago I went to the Daytona NASCAR race in February. It was very cold. I put a rain jacket that was lined inside over my hooded coat. It stops the cold and wind from getting thru to your body. My daughter in law was freezing the whole time. My bottom was a little cool but not bad. I didn’t complain the whole time. Try it. I love that you try not to cuss on your videos. I’m into different house styles so that’s why I watch. Thank u for what u do. And making me laugh. Have a great 2024.
Exactly true about the raincoat layer. Twenty years ago, Walmart sold these slick polyuratene? women's coats/jackets. Outside was thick wipe clean (blocked the wind and cold) and inside was a soft fabric lining that locked in the warmth. I wore that a lot on cold days, it was GREAT !
Thank u Ethan. You brave the cold for us. Thank u for another great adventure! That must have been a great place to have grown up. Loved the wall with hand prints. Thanks for reading them.. ❤
Just watched your video and i loved watching them. It helps me get through me get my mind off of what i going through right now. You are doing a great job Ethan.
Ethan I might be getting ahead of myself, but why is this whole neighborhood getting demoed? I don’t understand that if you can please Inc. in the video whenever thank you so much for sharing and take care and be safe. Stay warm.🫶🏻🤠
Hello! Love your videos, but it's always so sad to know these amazing homes are getting dozed. I'm in Nebraska, and we've been in a cold spell. Temps last week were -20 and windchill s even lower.
When he turns around and scans those apartments at 2:47, reminds me of communist Russian state housing. "You will own nothing and be happy"... It's coming...
It was an awesome explore Ethan, including the track through the snow❄️, it was beautiful! These homes were definitely well built and stood the test of time. I love the unique, original front doors of that era, and other period architectural details in the entry ways. The original checkered floor in the one house, was amazing!🤩 I loved the brick on the homes, the white brick one looked really nice, even though that one wasn't accessible, it was a nice glimpse of it. It was a great neighborhood, no doubt full of so much history seen and lived by all the families that resided there. The envelopes with different addresses and dates ranging close together, was very intriguing! It's almost like they could have come from mail sacks that were undelivered for some reason 🤔 Thanks for braving the cold!✌️
24:57 Thank you for not cutting it, I did enjoy watching the whole experience, I did that once & taped a bunch of interesting things along the way. Great video it took me 3 days to watch the whole thing, we got slammed with snow in Jersey & kept loosing internet, but I finally got to see your video!
Tonight we have a wind chill advisory until tomorrow .Ethan it looks like amazing episode ,cannot wait to dive in to it . Next week here in Wisconsin it will be sbove 0 which would be nice. Stay warm an safe Ethan ,your too cute to turn into a Frozen popsicle
I like when you put this in one video because we get to see everything and one clip smart theses houses is really abandoned theses houses are back in time
Enjoyed your video, Ethan. Thanks for braving the cold and the snow to bring that to us. Wonder if they’re going to put those multi story buildings in place of these houses
in 44;33 looks like it was not that long ago they moved out, being by the hand print say 22, so sad the place is so torn up in such a short time, those house could be fixed and rented out for low income instead of taring them down it horrible so many living on the streets and people would rather tare down then fix hand help other people
Ethan I find it really interesting when you go through these homes and there’s letters and things left behind like that because these are individuals lives that were very well lived in in these homes, and sometimes people that lived in these homes don’t have children or family to rely on and even though they might put things in the garage to repurpose them, sometimes they don’t have the time in life to do what they wanted to do with whatever item that they wanted to re-purpose and that’s more than likely the reason why you find things in the garage of these homes. Just an FYI.
The first home and the last home of this video I liked are my favorites. Thank you for sharing and I did love the goodbye to the home with the hand prints. I think that was awesome. Keep up the good work and be safe stay warm.🫶🏻🤠
Hey Ethan..thank you for being brave to film in that weather -20😮🥶.. looks so pretty ....I thought its cold here in England 🇬🇧 -4....i loved this video ,its you that makes it interesting, your knowledge and making it fun 😉...Nice find ,shame its all being demolished...some of the features were cool .,specially that glass wall 😀...looking forward to the next video ...stay safe ,warm, well ,and happy ..lotsaluv❤💋
these houses look so warm and cozy feeling... I'll bet they gonna replace w cold sterile modern houses that fall apart after months... like DR Horton houses that are clinical looking paper houses
Hello Ethan,I really enjoyed this awesome Videos of each of theses houses. I wonder how the Developer was able to buy up all these properties at once. That would been a awesome neighborhood to grow up in seems like alot of children would have lived there to play with. All the houses seemed well taken care of.
Ethan, what a fkking shame for this neighborhood, some awesome house from mid 50s to 60s, as u know are built very well. What lots these houses had back then, im guessing prices for largest to smallest houses u visited on this vlog range from $15000 to $35000 brand new when they were built. I grew in Gloucester Ontario which Ottawa took over, so i remember similar houses that were worth in late 60s to 70s. The biggest house u couldn't get into at today's price new with that lot i bet be worth $2000000, easy for Toronto if not more.
My Uncle had a brand new house built here in middle west Illinois, back in either late 40's or early 50's, and he only paid TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS total. It's still there, my Aunt remains living there. It's still like brand new and full of beauty! It's large too.
This is chilling, and I don’t mean the weather. Why are there footprints in the snow? Who is the person standing behind the curtain? Why do I hear voices telling you to go down to the basement?
why is there footprints in the snow? idk did you consider i had to walk around the house to get to it and inside it? i was with someone else you definitely just hear them. there’s nothing “chilling” about this.
Hey, Ethan! As always, I enjoyed this Adventure! I also enjoyed the walk in between houses! So glad that u didn't cut that part out! So, THANK U! Stay safe! ✌️ ❤
Let me add that I was just hysterically laughing my booty off at u and ur near stroke experience!!!!!! Lol! Too funny! It's all good tho! I get jumpy like that quite often! PEACE ✌️ LOVE ❤️
That's why I hate that modern houses all look the same. When you're walking or driving around in neighbourhoods that are new housing developments, it's like being stuck in some kind of surreal fever dream.
hi my question would be what is the fencing around the area with the red mesh and the caution tape on the signs that were on the fence. what did they say? Thanks for the tour.
Hello Ethan I’m sure they were beautiful back in the day. The one that got me was the home with the hand prints on the wall I’m sure it was an older folks that lived there. Take care and stay warm. Have a great day 😊
That is so interesting. To find an abandoned time capsule house, frozen in time. I’d certainly buy it and rent it out. This must have been somebody who has just recently lost their home. It's 28 degrees here in West Texas, but the windchill drops it down to 13.......a heat wave compared to where you are.😮 Hope you don't find a pool the hard way......traipsing allover outside.......careful, please!
Another way to find dates of houses is to look under the toilet tank cover. The date of manufacture is stamped there and will usually be the same year the house was built...unless of course it is a very old house and the original toilet has been replaced.
Awesome Ethan. I liked the 1st house the best. One house where that fireplace was off centre. Don't like that. Bummer you guys couldn't get in the 2 houses. Only 1 pool. Looked pretty big. You and Noah should go find the nearest Timmies and a get a nice, hot coffee. You have earned it.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Love your videos- thanks for continued posts.....BUT WHY ARE ALL THESE HOMES ABANDONED?
What’s the story on why the town is abandoned? It looks like they left fairly recently from the 'handprint' house
Ethan thank you first of all for working in this very cold. This is nice love the eighties! Please take care!
Loved all those houses. Thank you for braving the weather Ethan. It's cold here in Vermont too. God Bless.
Nice looking neighborhood, not all cookie cutter houses like so many new developments.
Thank u Ethan. You brave the cold for us. Thank u for another great adventure! That must have been a great place to have grown up. Loved the wall with hand prints. Thanks for reading them.. ❤
The first house was nice. I’d love to see the locked one.😊

You need hand warmers and feet warmers, you don’t need to get sick. Love your videos ❤️
Thanks for all your work to bring us these

Hello Ethan 👋I like when you upload a great video ❤️Thank you for sharing it with us 👍😊✌️😎💪
Thanks once again Ethan, love the crunching of the snow 😅😊
It is always a great day when I see you and/or Noah has posted a video. The vintage houses are my favorite to see. 👍👍❤

Thanks again Ethan - going the extra mile to show these homes being its so cold.
Like hearing the crunch, crunchy walking in the tundra😂
I like when you put this in one video because we get to see everything and one clip smart theses houses is really abandoned theses houses are back in time
pouring rain and chilly ocean air in SF Bay area. Stay safe and warm all.💕💕
Hello Ethan! Awesome video!! Stay warm😬❄️
Really like the floor plan of the first house...fun!
Enjoyed your video, Ethan. Thanks for braving the cold and the snow to bring that to us. Wonder if they’re going to put those multi story buildings in place of these houses

They first house was really nice. A little mold but fixable. They can give me that one😅
Awesome, nostalgia 60s❤❤❤❤❤
Ethan I find it really interesting when you go through these homes and there’s letters and things left behind like that because these are individuals lives that were very well lived in in these homes, and sometimes people that lived in these homes don’t have children or family to rely on and even though they might put things in the garage to repurpose them, sometimes they don’t have the time in life to do what they wanted to do with whatever item that they wanted to re-purpose and that’s more than likely the reason why you find things in the garage of these homes. That would been a awesome neighborhood to grow up in seems like alot of children would have lived there to play with. All the houses seemed well taken care of.
It’s. ashame that theses people worked all their lives and these houses are left for nothing
Yes but those houses served a great purpose to its occupants.
Great location too Ethan and I love it 👍❤️😎
Nice Garage❤
Its kinda nuts to see whole abandoned neighbourhoods given how bad the housing market is right now...
Nice, thanks Ethan. Go warm up!
Really enjoyed this
Third house was too claustrophobic for me
I wonder if what happened there is similar to the Love Canal in Niagara County NY? Water was contaminated and they condemned an entire neighborhood.
A developer bought these houses for a new medium density housing development.
Ethan, what a fkking shame for this neighborhood, some awesome house from mid 50s to 60s, as u know are built very well. Love how each of the houses have a different floor plan. You never know what you will see when you open the front door. A great surprise!
That's why I hate that modern houses all look the same. When you're walking or driving around in neighbourhoods that are new housing developments, it's like being stuck in some kind of surreal fever dream.

Love the House❤
Hello Ethan I’m sure they were beautiful back in the day. The one that got me was the home with the hand prints on the wall I’m sure it was an older folks that lived there. Take care and stay warm. Have a great day 😊
I actually like the faster pace. Try to stay warm, be safe out there
You should have checked out what was behind the police tape that was the most interesting part of the video!
That is so interesting. To find an abandoned time capsule house, frozen in time. I’d certainly buy it and rent it out. This must have been somebody who has just recently lost their home. When it isn’t a video about washing machines, it’s ones about abandoned houses. This looks rather recent as to when they left. Your friend, Jeff.
Awesome 80s home, would live there in a heartbeat. Some serious upgrades in that house.
Yeah it sounds windy that definitely makes a difference
It's 28 degrees here in West Texas, but the windchill drops it down to 13.......a heat wave compared to where you are.😮
Hope you don't find a pool the hard way......traipsing allover outside.......careful, please!
Another way to find dates of houses is to look under the toilet tank cover. The date of manufacture is stamped there and will usually be the same year the house was built...unless of course it is a very old house and the original toilet has been replaced.
Sad that small communities are gone all the history will be gone 😢
I loved this video. It was like I went back in time to my childhood.
The home looks pristine, like it could be fixed up
-20?! Little bit nippy then 😄 You need to get yourself a trapper hat!🥶
You know it's super cold by the sound of the crunchy snow
These must have been left recently. No water damage, no animal damage, little vandalism, not overgrown
Thanks.
You have earned it.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I loved the last home with the handprints and mirrors so sad its going to be destroyed.
This is what my town looks like, only it is more random....house-by-house instead of clusters. The result is constant construction; concrete trucks, generator drone, trashed roads etc. etc. Perfectly serviceable brick homes of 3000 SF or so go right into the landfill, replaced by 7K SF pressboard firetraps, with all the style of a leprous toad. Never a moments peace...that's progress in the 21st century.
Some advice-pull the toilet tank lids off and check the manufacture date on the inside of the tank.If the style of the toilet matches the era of the home it is most likely the original.Plus Zillow should have the age of the home.
Interesting, all that mail with unrelated addresses, could that be a mailman who didn't finish his route, and threw the mail in the attic? Then the ceiling collapsed? Just a thought. Thanks for another great video. Stay warm!
Were these homes bought for a Company or was this a chemical spill area? Why are they abandoned? 1966 locked home looked nice and well built.
Looks like in the house with the Canadian Air ticket, the envelopes, letters and photos may have been put up in the attic and when the insulation was brought down, thise letters and all might have fell down with it.
A developer bought this neighborhood with the intention to build a high rise. Sadly, they pretty much forced everyone out by making offers, one by one to each homeowner, and the market was down so eventually all 9 homeowners sold their homes. Greed.
Those are nice houses.
Looks like they were being remodeled. Strange🤷🏻♀️
Why are they all abandoned
I don’t know what city you live in but here in Denver those would be full of homeless people. Especially being so cold, I’m surprised there’s no one in any of them? No homeless where you are? 😳
you film it , we love it
Thanks for the video Ethan looking forward to the next one god bless 🙏 from Ireland
should open the refrigrators to see if any thing in them
The fireplace is for looks you need a wood stove!
Love these homes, I would still love to own one. My house now was built in the early 50’s, I really like it but it hates this Texas weather. I have to remodel/rebuild room by room.
Thanks so much for sharing
Wow, that first kitchen looks exactly like the “Poltergeist” movie houses kitchen, layout-wise. Doubt the rest of the house does, though.
That was a ticket holder, you used to have to wait in line for your tickets or there used to be travel agencies where they would plan your entire trip, your airline tickets were in there and you would present it at the gate at the time of boarding
That airline "brochure" was a ticket holder.
So sad to see the one wall full of hand prints. That should have been removed and saved. Nice little neighborhood. You need to get yourself a Lume Cube light so you're not walking into dark creepy spaces.
.. what a great bunch of houses ..hope you kept all that 60's Ephemera .. 🙂☮️🪲✉️📄🗒️
This legit reminds me of the Doom custom map called "House." Very creepy map, you should check out a video exploring it. "Doom House map review" or something.
That small house with the red and white checkered floor is concerning. That looks like the old 9 inch asbestos tile, that was used a lot in 50's era home building. It's not a huge hazard unless it's broken (like that was) then it becomes friable. You should be extremely careful in houses of that era.
I love your videos you found the air Canada when you read the year I was like oh my gosh I was born in 63
If you are unfamiliar with the Celsius scale, 20 below Celsius is about 4 below Fahrenheit.
Those house were remodeled after the 1960s
I wish I was near places like this so I could "reclaim" materials for some of my personal projects
