I agree with you. This castle should be under protection. It's over a thousand years old. It's just mind boggling to even think they could build this beautiful beautiful castle. That dinning room ceiling is absolutely gorgeous. So many beautiful rooms. Thank you for sharing this castle with us

It would be much more rewarding. If the person that conducts these tours had a real knowledge of the era and the history they are discussing. It would add so much depth and at the same time avoiding giving off too many clues as to the location.

It is protected under historical building preservation act if someone tries to tear it down, but the guy just said he doesn't think it has that protection, but someone has to apply for it's safety ; but to restore it, you must prove you have funds to keep it up to standard. It's like the elephant in the city, everyone sees it, but no one talks about it. In USA you can get historical preservation grant money.

Is this one of the homes you can buy for $1, but you must show you have funds to fix it up; but sometimes the government would give you some money to start the process!

The balls at the legs of an upholstered chair is part of what design commonly used in the Chippendale style from 1700s to 1800s with its ball bottomed tipped legs. That type of furniture belongs in a museum. So beautiful!

I felt that those bedrooms and the adjoining dining rooms were dedicated to certain family members over the years. As there seemed to be certain previous pictures of family who may have had those rooms in their lifetimes. And those TUNNELS! oh my gosh it's another world down there, and rather creepy too. Fabulous video. This one won my heart

Our past history is not what we’ve been taught, Leslie has shown so many videos of Castles and old Mansions that came from an ancient civilization that was called Tartaria, these people built their structures using sacred geometry that could be felt with love and good health vibrations. They were larger than us which is why the ceilings and door ways and arches are so high. They lived through a Golden Age followed by a cataclysmic event that shows damage all around the word that was left. We inherited them all and was told that we built them. If you enjoy history you will love finding our true one.

The last part of the video, was the original parts of the castle. I also noticed a lot of Art Nouveau details in the first dining room ( It was probably a breakfast room), and in a few of the bedrooms. Also Art Deco.
The long cord hanging in the last bedroom you checked out, would be connected to a bell system, it was designed to call on the servants when they needed their service.
The dayroom with what you thought was the four seasons in the ceiling showed not just the 4 seasons but also images from other countries. (Pyramids are usually connected to Egypt and South- Amerika, and more of them are being discovered all over the world.) Astonishing work of art!!

Leslie, this was amazing. My grandparents migrated to Canada in the early 20th century.
I'm amazed that they left everything behind. Is there a way to contact the current owners & see if they would give away or auction off the beautiful furniture. The dishes are beautiful, the lamps & the shades are intact. There were serving bowls that were painted, like only in Italy. Then, the rugs! They are beautiful. Please find the owners. The beds, chests, dressers, all the vanities!
I want to save the pictures & especially the painting of family members. Let's get an action going, I'll make a trip to Italy for that. I love my homeland. Come on, let's get the action going. In the beginning, there was a vase with painted flowers. They are wonderful. My mother bought. It only had 2 flowers & it was very expensive. Also, the glass bowls with the basket weave of the glass! So beautiful. Please get it going. I don't want these treasures rotting, it's bad enough the beautiful woodwork & painted ceilings are going to rot. Oh yes, the beautiful lights in each room.
I love your work, I just am memorized with your work. Keep it up, I'll donate to you. Merry Christmas. May you ask Jesus to come into your heart as your Lord & Savior. God bless you.

Gospel of Jesus Christ John 3:16 For God So loved the world that he gave his only Begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not Perish but have Everlasting Life. Jesus Christ Died for the sin of the World, If you believe in ur heart God risen Jesus from the dead and confess him with ur mouth to people you shall be saved. Jesus said I Am The only way to heaven there is no other way! Repent of urs sins (Repent means Change ur Mind turning away from sinful things and being truly sorry for it.) trust Jesus and give ur life to him He Loves you cares about you more than anyone ever will! we are saved By Grace Trough Faith!,this is sin: Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death but the gift of eternal life in our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 3:23 For all have sined and felt short of the Glory of God. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Romans 1:18‭-‬21‭, ‬23 KJV Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 6:9‭-‬10 REPENT OR YOU WILL PERISH REPENT AND BELIEVE THE GOSPEL GET RIGHT WITH GOD LORD JESUS CHRIST.

What a wonderful find. Well done. Its a real ancient gem. Ninety mins just flew so fast. I was mesmerized all the way through. The beautiful ceiling remined me of the home I lived in in the 1980's seven floor derelict building above a shop in West Flanders Belgium that I had whole access to and I tried exploring the above floors a few times. Maybe you can do a part two for all the rest of the vast amount of details. I particularly loved the mesmerizing hypnotic painting of a manor on the fireplace. The dusky bronze looking atmosphere in the painting is very beautiful. I would love to have that on my wall for the sunlight to reflect upon it. The tunnels were very cosy but scary. Thank you for your bravery.

governments are working on razor thin budgets, they don't have the money to maintain them, there are hundreds of castles around Europe, privately owned; some investors acquired them restored them and transformed them into hotels, the return on investment is not good, very little profit they are expensive to restore, many were restored and put on the market, they are hard to sell and whoever buys them make them a target for kidnapping and all sorts of crime; there's an oversupply of luxury real state and not enough buyers

There has to be a way to solve this. It is a matter of priorities. Are we to be rushing towards the future or will we choose to honour and understand our history. These abandoned buildings are screaming for our attention. They are saying very clearly, this is what comes of unhinged wealth. Not a gradual succession of inheritance and improvements in the standards of living for everyone, over the generations. Instead we see evidence of abrupt devastation left to Nature's untiring hand. Any answers we have as to why, can only be sketchy at best, but if we don't try to understand and resolve this now, for future generations, then I can only imagine our great great grandchildren starring awestruck at the glass/steel/marble/
temples of today, wasted away in front of them.
The public and private sectors, who together hold unimaginable wealth by any standard, must choose to do the right thing: come together for the common good. I don't see any other way.

Its weird one why did thet do such ornate ceiling theres be lots sore stiff necks looking up admiring, dont get it,is it bc churchs but tne cost of ceilings which really what thinking relevance,of day go day now is there. They are great incredible floor tilings done too some places seen, while travelling, how modern world isnt it seems as creative as times past. This is such a beautiful incredible neglected place sad side. By family disputing.Trouble is Italy has so so many wonderful old places close to this age needing help but the funds the skilled to whos really travelling keeping records sadly sure some places i visited, its fundings many just needing &tempature control machines,to steadying tempature&venting right now cant think called, types of humidifiers&finding volunteers harder. What has the recent floods2023 what damage doneNthItaly recent i wonder. There are many antiquities hidden gems as this its heartbreaking just seeing this place shame on govts.not stepping up. I was lucky to see many bc had right guide, sadly fewer guides, as younger generation leave move off to big cities education, but not returning. Thanks for this, wonderful but sad seeing the neglect. This is the most incredibly beautiful and completely intact Castle you've ever explored! Fabulous, Leslie ❤️. I would watch a 4 hour video had you offered it..Absolutely amazing. I don't know who could just leave everything behind like that - even the photographs, their family's very memories. Tch Tch. The furnishings are at grave risk of losing them forever as the roof decays further and further - and that would be such a tragedy. But the slowe decay is partly what makes your explorations so precious and meaningful.

This caught my breath immediately. I’m just up for the day and on my first pot of tea. I am spellbound from just the thumbnail, and then to the entrance. I can’t wait!
Your new togs look very nice, Lesley, very nice indeed. You’ve got your perfect crew, and hello Maureno, how good to see you again. Hopefully your trials are behind you and will remain in a rapidly and now a most unexplored decaying past 😘 Ah, this place - Bellissimo, and the peacocks too are fantastic. I once knew a woman who kept different kinds, including white ones. They lived in her huge yard with lots of trees and many other animals she kept fed as they roamed freely on her grounds. Another thing that was Bellissimo ~~~~~
The tile floors, how I wish they had been highlighted. I do hope someone reclaimed the beautiful pieces of furniture and the flooring tiles, as well as historically documenting this beautiful place.
Those ‘babies’ on the bedroom furniture are cherubs.
*orchards and vineyards, not ‘wine fields.’
    Billiards room, markers (score keeper)
You skip over the gorgeous tile and terrazzo floors😢
Yes, owners keep up with every bottle of wine; what they purchase, how much of it and the cost.
That’s scalloping in the carved pieces. That ‘exposed’ wood as you called it is burled wood, a particular cut of some woods. Very beautiful. Exquisite.
Please: Grandfather clock. A wall clock is small and hangs on a wall.
Rocks and seashells are pretty (I wouldn’t say expensive) but you pass right over the beautiful and expensive pieces of porcelain right by those ‘expensive’ (not) seashells and rocks. Those are picked up off the ground and in the sand or water by the seashores. Exquisite hand built and carved pieces of furnishings. The weight of them must be something. It would be nice if you focused on things like that. Get some books on antique furnishings and books with photos of places in the areas you visit. That would be great. You don’t have to purchase books but you can visit them in bookstores and make inquiries as to particular pieces and their functionality in the centuries they were used.
That wallpaper at 54:00 seems out of step with the colors in the ceiling, but maybe the colors are not translating through the film to my screen.
The pipe stand contains pipe cleaners in the drawer.
That chaise longue in that same room is wonderful. I would repose and read, doze, dream, read. What a piece.
@1:04:16 Excuse my familiarity and maybe a bit of crassness but with the cherubs as one is pointing: “Pull my finger” immediately came to mind, lol!
That log was a nice piece of driftwood, common for use as decor. I get so tickled with your “wavers.” You’re so sweet! That place has seen many wartimes. The photo was during WWI not WWII, and the one officer had lost family because he wore a black armband to denote the personal loss. The term in the later era is ‘fascists’ and ‘fascism’ and Italy fought with the Germans in WWII until they were soundly beaten in the desert wars and on the Ostfront. They gave in and loved the Allied troops, especially after they assassinated Mussolini and his wife and then hung them upside down in the plaza. Many of the people, from peasants to aristocracy, gave aid to as many of the Jews as they could. They got a lot of them over the mountains and to the freedom of some lands as well as the sea and onto boats carrying them to freedom in their homeland of Israel (which the Romans gave the name of Palestine, which never has been a country with native people, a government or currency, to demean the Hebrews and the British tried to keep as Palestine for the Arabs that flooded into the country when they Jews were driven out. Coming full circle. God’s hand is on all things and Jerusalem is His timepiece). These rooms are so beautiful, master craftsmen in everything. The ceilings with their lights and shadows on the depictions, custom furnishings, wallpaper, terrazzo floors - wish they’d been highlighted! Can you revisit, or are renovations in full swing? What a place!
1:11:04 That’s a manger, and the pieces depicting Mary, Joseph, the baby Jesus, animals in the manger, and maybe the three wisemen as well.
1:14:00 Oh, that fountain! The clock would have been made for the house, not from a train company. Makes me think of and wonder how many sundials had been there over the centuries.
The rain made this wonderfully nostalgic, especially from the turret. I thought you were going to need Ariadne’s thread to get back up from the bowels of the castle, lol!
Thank you so, so much for this one. I’m surprised there weren’t shelves filled with books, but maybe that’s something the owners definitely moved out with - their friends. When I’ve moved the first thing I always packed and labeled were my books, my companions, my friends📚. Again, thank you so very much. This one was special! You and your crew are top drawer. Ciao, ti amo!

It's heartbreaking and blissfully enchanting. I can tell you are a true romantic. Thank you so much for taking us in there. It's just as if I were walking through a gorgeous museum. I am tremendously fascinated by abandoned places. It was well worth watching your video. I would have snatched a few mementos to take with me, however as you yourself said - never take anything with you!! I'm from Valletta, in Malta where all of our buildings are Baroque, from this same period and look exactly like this. There are quite a few palazzos that are livable thanks to people who restore them however it takes lots of maintenance. Most baroque palazzos were residences to noble families that had their own chapel. We lived in a Baroque building first and our building had a communal courtyard with a 16th century well and high walls, thick walls and the tiles are old. Then we lived in a Victorian apartment, and now a 1950s mid century apartment. Restoration is key when it comes to these buildings and quite honestly it does look like there has been an attempt at restoration so hopefully, it won't remain abandoned for too much longer before it finds its next owner. Who knows they might turn it into a boutique hotel. Incidentally, my grandmother had the same tapestry that was on that chocolate box on one of the walls of her Piano Sopra upstairs. I believe it was heavily reproduced at the turn of the century. My gran's family home is now a jewellery store selling Cartier and Rolex. Her marital home has been restored and is now a boutique hotel. These buildings have far-reaching potential, but the the only people that will afford to buy them and restore them are large businesses.

Hello 👋🏻 😊 from Kelowna , British Columbia Canada 🇨🇦. This is a bit of a novel… so you don’t have to read it if you don’t want to, but I hope you will… 😊 I fully loved your comment, I agree with everything thing you said. This castle is simply amazing, it is without question by far one of the most impressive buildings I’ve ever seen anywhere. The architecture, paintings, furniture and woodwork are unbelievable! 😮 so cool to see what amazing quality craftsman were capable of building … They just don’t make things like that now unfortunately… just cheap pressboard and crappy furniture that lasts about 5 years before it falls apart! In the future as a hobby when I get a bit older I would love to take extremely good pictures and recreate some of these incredible pieces of old furniture and cabinets from really high quality expensive real wood ! Possibly Mahogany, burl oak, black walnut etc. I’m not sure what they used back then or if you can even get it in modern times, so I will have to do some research 🧐! and then maybe even just make it out of a different type of wood but certainly Not cheap press / chipboard! I have all kinds of skills, tools and I am extremely patient and picky about my workmanship! But I’ve never seen that as a bad thing … in this day and age I might be one of the very few people left on the planet that could make similar things. 😄 The tour Leslie gave of this 1000 year old Italian castle was amazing and could have been many hours longer and I still would have watched every second of it ! 😊 it was absolutely fascinating in the best way possible! I love how he is so respectful and careful with the families belongings and even just with the items and building itself when he goes into these places. I would love to go with him ! 😊 In other videos I’ve seen that he has done in the past, He will even put things back on a table or fireplace mantle where it belongs if it’s on the floor where may get damaged etc. 😊 For the most part places like this do not exist where I live. ( the only one I can think of that’s even remotely close is in Victoria B.C., out on the pacific coast there is one called Craigdaroch Castle and it’s really cool to see as well ( built in 1908 if I can remember right, as it’s been almost 30 years since I was there. Owned by coal baron Robert Dunsmir the richest man in B.C. at that time ) it is not as large as this castle and nowhere near as old but it is also quite impressive in it’s own right. ( 25 rooms I think 🤔but I can’t be sure of that I was only about 22 years old when I saw it so it’s been a long time now but it certainly made a huge impression on me. In all these years I’ve never forgotten about it! It’s the most incredible building I’ve ever personally been inside. I should go out there on a little vacation just to see it again! 😊) Generally when someone here says “ that place is really old” they mean it was built in 1960. 😄Thank You for mentioning the places and buildings you, your family and your Grandmother 👵 have lived in the past, they sound awesome! She must have had ( is still having hopefully ?) an interesting and incredible life! 😊 Thanks for sharing that part of your life story. I hope you have a really great 🍾🥂 🎉 New Year’s 🥳 , Andy
