BMW E31 CSI REAR SPOILER - HOW TO STOP IT FALLING OFF

- I went out to clean the car one Sunday morning to find that I had lost my rear CSI Spoiler on my BMW E31 840ci Sport - they are held on by plastic hooks and eyes and five rusty clips - and they give up and you will lose the spoiler.

So glad you went back and found the original piece that fell off. Sure you can always buy a replacement from the dealers or breaker's yard, but much more warming to have your own back.
Very true! And a stroke of luck, I can still remember driving past it and couldn't believe what I saw!

Thanks for that Tim. If I ever get to that stage on my car, I will do something similar. When I got my car, the spoiler was a bit loose, but I never really checked it out. When I dismantled the car I found some bright spark had decided that a few blobs of sealant was the answer to all the problems! So, looking back, I was probably only a few trips away from losing mine.

Before Alvin, This screw trick is very good to be sure rear spoiler safe. Also it can causes accident if drop on the highway. Keep going. ///.

Is there anything to be done about the hood/bonnet kidney grilles falling off?

My E38 kidneys were forever loose, the only fix was to replace them with proper BMW ones!

Hi Timm. Just read a post from 2016 relating to the backrest lock you replied to. You mention pink relays k3 and k61 can you please advise where they are located as I've got the same problem. Appreciate any assistance you can provide me with thanks.
No problem, go to meeknet.co.uk/e31 I have both a fuse and relay finder on the left-hand buttons
@TimmsBMWRepairsandInformation Thanks, I already saw your image of the fuse box, and it has you suggested by swapping relays K3 and K 61. Everything is normal now. But I need to swap back to see if relay K 3 is faulty.
