RECIPE: Korean Grilled Cheese Rice Cake Skewers | cheese-tteok-kkochi 치즈떡꼬치
INGREDIENTS
Korean rice cakes
Cheese (grilling cheese such as halloumi)
Sweetened condensed milk (optional)
Wooden skewers
DIRECTIONS
1. First step is to soften the frozen rice cakes. Soak in water for a few minutes then place in boiling water. Boil until slightly softened, about a minute. Drain and place in cold water to cool down. If you have fresh rice cakes, you can skip this step.
2. Slice cheese into similar size pieces as the rice cakes.
3. Put rice cakes on skewers, alternate with cheese and rice cake. Make sure the top and bottom end of the skewer are rice cakes as cheese may slide off on the ends.
4. Add a little cooking oil into pan. Grill both sides of skewers for a few minutes on medium low heat. Wait until rice cakes are crispy, and cheese has melted a little.
5. Drizzle with condensed milk and enjoy!

Hi, what cheese are you using? is it Cheddar or Mozarella? and how long do you grill them so they won't totally melted like that
I used halloumi ( a grilling cheese) and I grilled them few minutes on each side. Good luck!
