Hello 👋 how are you doing today
Parmesan cheese fried into little crisps are yummy too
D: my mom loves these but I absolutely can not stand them
Cheddar works really well for that as well 😋
Oh yeah? Like chips you get in a bag? That thin? 😊
I’ve wanted to try those and make them!
Parmesan is best when you eat it right out of the package
When i was in middle school i used to go home and put a few slices of provolone on a small plate and microwave it until it was golden and crispy and still melty and eat that lol
I used to do the same thing! It was so good 😂
I used to do the same thing, but with cheddar in a bowl. Lol good times
I used to do this too .. so freaking good
I love recipes from middle schoolers
I bought a copper pan from the store its nonstick get one put whatever cheeses you like provolone or mozzarella I've done it with cheddar too they melt crisp and you can pick it up so easily!
Imma just put it out there: try brushing your cheese pizza with just a lil honey. That combo absolutely slaps
I don't know if it's because I've turned into an old lady or what, but the phrase "it slaps" never fails to make me burst into laughter.
I don't mean that as an insult to you at all! Slang often comes from the strangest places. It just strikes me as so silly. 😂 I mean I love it, but still.
I actually make like a tablespoon of honey cheese sauce (just melt a tiny bit of processed cheese in water, add honey in it) and sparingly drizzle all over my pizza. I am a sucker for sweetness in savoury food, so this hack takes my salty, cheesy pizza to whole another level.
I have some chili 🌶 infused honey that’s amazing on pizza. I think I got it on amazon.
@@veryberry39 Believe me, you're not alone there. I don't know a single person between the ages of 10 and 25 that says that.
Sark Aztik slap isn’t even meant for food , music slaps , food smacks ,people got it wrong
Emmy seems like a person that can't help but smile 🤣😁 If anyone sees this, have a great day😄
❤️
I hope you have a wonderful day too you wonderful person you!😸
You too! :)
☺️☺️
Thanks!! You too 😊
This is similar to a Brazilian dish called "queijo coalho". It is not made with mozzarella, it's sort of a curdled cheese, very similar of what is found in classic poutine. We cook this at Brazilian barbecues.
Like for Emmy to see :)
Food is so much more fun to eat when you put it on a stick 😋
Oh Emmy I have goosebumps because you mentioned halloumi, I come from Cyprus. As soon as I saw grilled cheese I thought of halloumi. It is white because it is sheep's milk and not cow's milk as it would have been whitish. The halloumi cheese is recooked in a whey and then it is salted and mint is used to flavour it, so it's the original flavour. When I visited the UK in 2012 I discovered that halloumi comes in various flavours, with chilli and so on, I found it interesting and not offended for extending its flavours. Halloumi is served sometimes fried with honey, just as the French do their fried cheese served with marmalade, condensed milk sounds like a lovely fusion twist. So Koreans have halloumi? Please make grilled halloumi with your honey drizzled on it and present it. Wow. Thank you. Love from Cyprus. xxx
Ooh I love halloumi, but I didn't know about eating it with honey. That sounds like something I'll have to try this weekend!
Day 1 ----
Everyone experiments frying every type of cheese they can find
Day 3 ----
No one is able to poop
Lol
Cj W 😂🤣 I think I peed a little 😂🤣 it’s exactly what I was thinking
When I was doing keto, I made wraps out of cheese! Just cover the bottom of a skillet with cheese and cook until the bottom is golden. Then I put my wrap fixins on it and roll it up. Cheese in place of a tortilla or flat bread makes an excellent turkey wrap! lol
That sounds outrageously good
You YT icon is sooo cute I love the drawing
wait, keto eats tortillas? i thought carbs are no no and i thought tortilla are made of corn which means carbs, no?
vasilia s they’re using cheese instead of a tortilla
This...sounds amazing.
"Something about watching the process of making food is so satisfying, I always end up watching them late at night"
Me currently at 3am binge watching Emmy's videos lol
This reminds me of Greek Sagnaki, which is also haloumi cheese, I believe. You fry it really crispy, sometimes even coating it in alcohol and flaming it up. SO GOOD.
Never had Sagnaki. Thx for the info.
Chaloumi and saganaki are very similar! Chaloumi is a specific cheese while saganaki can be made from any hard greek cheese!
They are both delicious! Much saltier and flavorful than mozzarella cheese !
This really looks like “Queijo Coalho”, a brazilian street food which is made with “coalho” cheese and sugar cane molasses on top. You should try, it’s really good.
Never heard of it having sugar on top. Usually just do it during a barbecue.
I loved queijo Coelho when I lived in Brazil, though I always got it with the pepper and Oregono
Lady Duck It’s very common at the beaches, I miss this snack so much.
@@HihiEvy must be a southern thing. Never heard of it coming from the northeast
@meow yes!!! i lived in Ceará for pretty much my whole life and i remember the vendors on the beach, those were SO YUMMY
I noticed you immediately decreased the temperature when it seems like the cheese was melting. I think it may be better to take the other route and increase the temp.
Mind you, I’m usually a slow and low kind of gal when it comes to cooking, but it seems like to achieve a fried mozzarella brick you ought to set it to high heat so it crisps and cauterized the outer layer to prevent it from immediately melting, all while keeping the inner cheese from melting before you have an opportunity to flip it.
That's what I was thinking, almost burning it before the inside cooks all the way through. She said she didn't want it too hot & I was like "crank it !!"
Either higher heat or freeze your cheese before frying. Both works. Combine for best results.
Yum! This video made me feel like less of a weirdo 😂 sometimes I make a snack of grilled string cheese in a pan and I add a little bit of raspberry jam afterwards.
Did you just think of that on your own??
That sounds like a new grilled cheese for me
I love reading through the comments and seeing how many other cultures have a form of similarly cooked cheese! every time I go to puerto rico, have whats called queso Blanco (white cheese) or queso del pais. we often eat it raw with guava or cooked like this!
Lol she called a spatula a "flipper" cute overload😭😍
I always used to call them spatulas. But the actual term for them is "Pancake Turner" or "Turner" or "Flipper". The spatulas are actually the long flat butter knife looking things they use for frosting cakes. Usually the full term is "Offset Spatula".
"So much cheese." I love cheese. I could live on just cheese!
Camembert or Brie with Jam is also delicious. Contrast between Salty and Sweet is made in heaven. When i was little i did not like it but it is an aquired taste for me now
I make grilled brie and dried apple sandwich
try goat cheese with honey. Works perfectly ;)
Or cranberry sauce
You should try bread cheese. I learned about it a few years ago and it’s this dense squeaky cheese that grills so beautifully and is amazing
I found it much saltier than halloumi, unpleasantly so.
Omg, I HAVE to try/learn more about this!
I think queso fresco works the same way as well
Bread cheese is sooooo good. Seared off on a cracker with some jam 💥
Just looking at that amount of cheese makes me cramp.
Lactose intolerant?
Emmy: I find it relaxing to watch cooking videos.
Me, watching Emmy's videos because they're relaxing af: Go on...
I love you. We need more people this excited and happy about cheese
During my day offs, I usually watch your videos and it really helps my mind to relax and enjoy. Greetings from Philippines! I loved your filipino themed food videos. :)
I confess now that I'm trying to reduce my meat to become more flexatarian I can't get enough of Halloumi! You use lots of spices and bake it in oven with olive oil and make burgers out of it! It's amazing!
Mmmm I’d love these, I like the browned cheese on the edge of my nacho bowl when I microwave it, I actually brown it on purpose
"I always end up watching food videos late at night"
As I watch Emmy at 3:15am 😂
I know, I do the same thing.!!
"Grilled cheese" I thought these were going to be tiny sandwiches hahahah. Still fun tho
For the best combination: sweet corn cut off the cob, mixed with diced tomato, and diced red onion. Top with a dressing of cayenne, mayo and lime juice and then add grilled panela (which is a Mexican cheese very similar to halloumi). So delicious!
I saw 'uploaded 18 seconds ago' and I dove right on in.
There needs to be a warning on these videos stating: EMMY MAY BE ADDICTIVE!
I say "I'm going to watch one Emmy before I go to bed". Ten videos later I'm still watching and it's now 3:30! I love every second!
I may need to start a 12 step program!!
Hi Emmy, I love your positive energy and enthusiasm. Experimenting and tasting foods all over the world. You make the simplest and weirdist dishes sound so tasty and delish!
In Puerto Rico we have our local cheese “queso del país” which is fried and then drizzled with guava sauce. very similar looking to the halloumi... interesting similarities when you mentioned taste and texture... big hugs to you, stay safe ❤️❤️
that sounds lovely!!
I wonder if this is similar to panela, which is very easy to find in California and which I use if I can’t find halloumi.
I tried halloumi for the first time a few months ago and I genuinely crave it nearly every day. It's just the BEST.
YES! More and more of these PLEASE! We watch all these street foods and its mesmerizing! We see the thing...we want the thing...but have no clue on what most of the ingredients are. I have not seen anyone showing HOW like you are. Please oh please! :)
Emmy you are so wholesome and entertaining. I'm so glad I stumbled upon some of your videos!
New goal: Two slices of thin cut halloumi, grilled on one side each, slice of American cheese between, then grilled on the outside. Just cheese grilled cheese sandwich.
Oooooohhhhhhh does that sound amazing!!!!
The way Emmy speaks it is relaxing. 🤷🏼♀️
Emmy your vids are so delightful ❤️
I'M SO HAPPY YOU DID THIS ONE!!!!! I LOVE WATCHING CHEESE ON A STICK STREET FOOD VIDEOS
Emmy : that's a lot of cheese
Me : laugh in French XD
Emmy is the most adorable person on this planet.
it's fascinating to watch those food prep shows because it's so fast and slick and stuff I've never seen before. Love new stuff.
I love the grin on your face when you said cut the cheese 🤣🤣🤣
Try this:
Get the griddle very hot, and sear the mozzarella cheese quickly. That way, the inside shouldn't melt -- like the inside of a steak doesn't cook when it's seared.
🙂
I wonder how it would work if you cut, skewered then froze the mozzarellas before grilling?? 🤔
Maria Doan Trager freezing tends to destroy the texture of cheese and cause it to separate, but a light trip to the freezer might be ok. If you fully freeze and then defrost mid-moisture cheese (cheddar, mozzarella) it gets really oily and unpleasant.
This sounds soooo gooood!! Have a good Emmy ❤️
Love watching you taste test things emmy ... I dont gain any weight and get to hear and see all kinds of things thanks to you & all your wonderful experiments
love that tshirt...what do you do when people are just jerks? im as nice as possible at all times but sometimes life really tests you! thanks for all the positivity you bring,
Dont give it attention and dont keep them in your life!!
Just ignore them. There not worth any attention or kindness
...you’re laying it on pretty thick, aren’t you? “Nice as possible at all times”? Really?
If you’re really that nice, we’ll know. Nobody needs your elevator pitch.
@@ElizaHamilton1780 Prime example right here. Peace to all the nice people out there. Y'all run the world!
@Xeph Xen it's surprisingly easy when you're conflict avoidant and you're willing to sacrifice your own mental health to continue avoiding conflict 🙃
I'm not first, I'm not last, but when Emmy posts, I click fast!
@Ba Gawk will you still love me when I've got nothing but my aching soul?
clicked as soon as I saw the notification! love your videos Emmy!
This sounds so good! I’ve already sent this video to my boyfriend and my mother! We are definitely going to make this. Love you Emmy!
*I’m eating ice cream and watching!*
😋 🍨
Emeril Lagasse had a show that had me melting cheese in the microwave, andy favorite on the cast iron skillet.
I totally know what you mean by finding food videos satisfying. I find your videos super satisfying, especially because your voice is so soothing
I love seeing Emmy excited ❤️
9:27 its delicious with some pepper added on while its cooking
When Emmy posts, I got to just skip all my responsibilities.
ALL RIGHT! 2 million, way to go Emmy!
Binge watching and cooking lots of recipes from this channel. This winter holiday season I'm doing large batch cooking for the nursing staff I serve and I'm trying lots of different recipes to see which I think they'll like best. So many good choices!
I feel like the other cheeses would work if it was frozen first, and dipped in egg and cornstarch.
I was hoping emmy would've tried a version where she at least froze them
Yeah, I think it would work but you might need to double layer it.
A fish n chips batter would be really good too I bet.
Halluomi or the "squeaky cheese" as my best friend calls it 😂😂🤔
After a long stressful day, your videos make me smile. Thanks so much.
My phone says I already watched this what I don't remember it. I must have fell asleep with your videos playing again Emmy LOL
Where are the brazilians saying "this is queijo coalho!!!!!" haha
Né? Quando ela falou que o queijo até fazia aquele barulho ao ser mordido eu fiquei "menino, quem copiou quem aqui?" Hahahaha
I had that on the beach in Rio when I was there as a kid. Still remember how tasty it was!
Exactly what I thought, when ahe mentioned the texture and the curds I was like "wait a minute this ia queijo coalho"
Patrycia Becker Costa I said Queso Panela, but I suspect they are similar.
No idea who copied who, but there's nothing better than northeast coalho
Maangchi does a version with sticky rice cakes, and it's amazing!
Emmy I can't lie...
Your channel was in my recommend. I am addicted 😂. I'm guessing because I also watch a lot of street food channels lol!
I promise you, me and my partner watch your videos before we go to bed almost every night 😆. I don't understand why but the food videos just feel right at night! 💕Ya and thanks for making these great videos. I work in a nursing home and your videos at the end of the day really put my nerves to ease!! Easy going and entertaining!
Here in Brazil we have a cheese that is very like the third one you made. It's called something like "curded cheese" it's "queijo coalho". It's made for grilling, famous in barbecue parties and sometimes eaten with cane molasses. I'd say that our cheese is the color of your string cheese, but it has the same non-melting and squeaking properties of the third cheese you made. I'M ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE with this Brazilian cheese, it's somewhat expensive but very worth it. Love the video!
lactose intolerant people watching this: 👁👄👁
Blue Lemonade YES! my stomach is telling me this is a bad idea right now.☹️
This ain’t gon stop me
dumpster you’re a brave one! Me, i’m just blockheaded😂
Lmao you are lactose intolerant?
Just be tolerant is 2020 (?
Emmy is also lactose intolerant
I frequently pan grill cotija cheese. Low and slow heat seems to work.
It's impossible to not smile watching Emmy's videos
Three awesome things about this video, cheese, your shirt and you are so very awesome. I adore pretty much all of your videos.
That reminds me that my great grandmother used to make for my mother when she was a child in the 40s then had cheese and sugar combine those two and make like candy I guess you can say for my mom as a treat make sometimes as I remember when I was younger
When I go to Mexico I love love love to eat panela cheese that’s been grilled 🤤 this reminds me of that
I live in mexico and eat panela a lot, but I have never hear of it being grilled, how do you make that?
You always make me smile Emmy ♥️
😊
emmymadeinjapan wanna make babies
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one in the "left staving at midnight because of Korean street food videos" team. So excited to see you try other recipes! :)
The cheezy with sweet thing is not unheard of. On the east cost of canada it is common to serve pizza with Donair sweet sause.
Jessy - Sweetened Condensed milk, vinegar, and a tad bit of garlic powder 🤤
Hey Emmy!! I would LOVE to see you try some Indian recipes, there are tons and tons to choose from, from so many regions and of course, tons of hacks, substitutes, and passed down tips. Please do give them a shot! Thank you :)
woow.. it's looking so yummy.. I love it..😍😋😋
i gonna try this now.
Same!
Me: Always watching your videos at night and getting hungry 🤣🤣
I grill string cheese alll the time for keto snacks didn’t realize it was a thing in Korea
me: **reads title**
also me: **gently moans**
You make the simplest recipes a joy!
I love your shirt! Also, I like to use queso fresco sliced thickly and browned in a fry pan. It's so good that way!
Well I've heard everything is better on a stick..
*And this proves it!*
Everything grilled seems to be yummy too!
Thank you, Emmy. Please keep doing the savory vs sweet projects.
I'm always watching cooking videos late at night too! 😍
I like your video's a lot. Thank you for being able to easily follow you when you are instructing.
6:53 fRRRRst , lol it made me chuckle, but i love the video 🤍
I can't wait to try this!
🙋🏼♀️Hi Emmy, I LOVE CHEESE! Every time I watch your shows where your eating something good I makes me so hungry.
Lol youre such a goof, i love it as an idea to do with family
Halloumi is GORGEOUS!! And so good grilled or fried...
Wow i haven't even watched yet but emmy is really working the sponsors!! She banking! 2 million! You go girl!
Love watching people make food?! Well, yupppp that's why I'm here. And definitely always hungry at the end lol
You inspire me a bunch from me watching this and I first wanted to watch this cuz I thought the food on the stick in your right hand in thumbnail was a see through fish so that's what made me want to watch this but also cuz I want to watch your videos regardless of the thumbnail haha 😄😄😆 And one of my favorite parts is when you were talking and then you were like "okay I'm gonna stop" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I would enjoy hearing what you were gonna say but that's okay hahaha 😄😆 It's also cool and you surprised me when you got this from FoodieBoy and I didn't think you know him and I saw his other grilled cheese video 😃 And I was also surprised how you know Maangchi too but then I was like "right Maangchi's kinda famous, yeah she's famous of course she knows Maangchi haha". I enjoy this very much and you inspire me to make these. I can write more but imma keep it short haha and thank you very much for sharing this with us. I definitely learned some things watching this 😃
Emmy are you looking into my dreams again? Lol cheese🧀 is life.
That is amazing !!
During a video about cheese, I got an ad for cheese. It’s nearly ten pm and I want cheese.
I love watching those street food videos too lol. My favorite one is for Indonesian "Martabak". It's this super buttery treat covered in chocolate, cheese, and sweetened condensed milk.
