  • Mozzarella cheese-on-a-stick and grilled to perfection? So what kind of magic allows the meltiest of cheeses to stay put on a stick? And while we're asking questions, what does grilled mozzarella cheese taste like with a squeeze of sweetened condensed milk? Let's get to the bottom of all this. 🤓

I actually make like a tablespoon of honey cheese sauce (just melt a tiny bit of processed cheese in water, add honey in it) and sparingly drizzle all over my pizza. I am a sucker for sweetness in savoury food, so this hack takes my salty, cheesy pizza to whole another level.

This is similar to a Brazilian dish called "queijo coalho". It is not made with mozzarella, it's sort of a curdled cheese, very similar of what is found in classic poutine. We cook this at Brazilian barbecues.

Oh Emmy I have goosebumps because you mentioned halloumi, I come from Cyprus. As soon as I saw grilled cheese I thought of halloumi. It is white because it is sheep's milk and not cow's milk as it would have been whitish. The halloumi cheese is recooked in a whey and then it is salted and mint is used to flavour it, so it's the original flavour. When I visited the UK in 2012 I discovered that halloumi comes in various flavours, with chilli and so on, I found it interesting and not offended for extending its flavours. Halloumi is served sometimes fried with honey, just as the French do their fried cheese served with marmalade, condensed milk sounds like a lovely fusion twist. So Koreans have halloumi? Please make grilled halloumi with your honey drizzled on it and present it. Wow. Thank you. Love from Cyprus. xxx

I noticed you immediately decreased the temperature when it seems like the cheese was melting. I think it may be better to take the other route and increase the temp.
Mind you, I’m usually a slow and low kind of gal when it comes to cooking, but it seems like to achieve a fried mozzarella brick you ought to set it to high heat so it crisps and cauterized the outer layer to prevent it from immediately melting, all while keeping the inner cheese from melting before you have an opportunity to flip it.

Maria Doan Trager freezing tends to destroy the texture of cheese and cause it to separate, but a light trip to the freezer might be ok. If you fully freeze and then defrost mid-moisture cheese (cheddar, mozzarella) it gets really oily and unpleasant.

    Emmy I can't lie...
Your channel was in my recommend. I am addicted 😂. I'm guessing because I also watch a lot of street food channels lol!
I promise you, me and my partner watch your videos before we go to bed almost every night 😆. I don't understand why but the food videos just feel right at night! 💕Ya and thanks for making these great videos. I work in a nursing home and your videos at the end of the day really put my nerves to ease!! Easy going and entertaining!

Here in Brazil we have a cheese that is very like the third one you made. It's called something like "curded cheese" it's "queijo coalho". It's made for grilling, famous in barbecue parties and sometimes eaten with cane molasses. I'd say that our cheese is the color of your string cheese, but it has the same non-melting and squeaking properties of the third cheese you made. I'M ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE with this Brazilian cheese, it's somewhat expensive but very worth it. Love the video!

You inspire me a bunch from me watching this and I first wanted to watch this cuz I thought the food on the stick in your right hand in thumbnail was a see through fish so that's what made me want to watch this but also cuz I want to watch your videos regardless of the thumbnail haha 😄😄😆 And one of my favorite parts is when you were talking and then you were like "okay I'm gonna stop" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I would enjoy hearing what you were gonna say but that's okay hahaha 😄😆 It's also cool and you surprised me when you got this from FoodieBoy and I didn't think you know him and I saw his other grilled cheese video 😃 And I was also surprised how you know Maangchi too but then I was like "right Maangchi's kinda famous, yeah she's famous of course she knows Maangchi haha". I enjoy this very much and you inspire me to make these. I can write more but imma keep it short haha and thank you very much for sharing this with us. I definitely learned some things watching this 😃

I love watching those street food videos too lol. My favorite one is for Indonesian "Martabak". It's this super buttery treat covered in chocolate, cheese, and sweetened condensed milk.
