- If you love tteokbokki, you’re going to LOVE this recipe! So simple and so delicious - it’s easy to see why they’re one of the most popular Korean street snacks out there. They’re spicy, sticky, sweet, salty, crispy, chewy and oh so addictive. What’s not to love?
Ingredients (makes 7):
☐ 35 rice cakes
☐ Neutral-flavoured oil (vegetable, canola, grapeseed, etc)
☐ 3 tbsp gochujang (Korean red chilli paste)
☐ 1 tbsp soy sauce
☐ 1 tbsp sesame oil
☐ 1 tbsp honey
Garnish (optional):
☐ Sesame seeds
☐ Spring onion (chopped)
☐ Cheese (grated)

Sauce recipe:
Gochujang 3 tablespoons
Soy sauce 1 table spoon
Sesame oil 1 tablespoon
Honey 1 tablespoon

You can use any sweetener of choice :)

Yes of course! They usually come frozen :)
What if we don't have honey ?
Try replacing with 1/2 tbsp sugar (or to taste)
