Absolutely beautiful! My dad and I are huge Tool fans! Unfortunately he passed a few weeks ago. He would have loved this guy. I did play this and other Tool and APC songs while in a coma in neuro ICU. Wish we could have discussed how bad ass this dude is. Thank you so much Ernesto for making my fav songs even more fascinating!
I sang along to this entire cover, such a beautiful song and such an incredible guitar tone! Your playing is frankly insane, Ernesto, and I cannot wait for you to tackle one of their quieter, more meditative songs, like 'Intension' or 'Reflection'. Greetings from England!
Once again he found himself near the sound, the melody, the ringing....that had dimmed, slowly came alive, came fresh, came real...and that was the tool.
I mistakenly thought this was 2 guitars when listening on Spotify. Holy shit I cannot believe that sound came from that wood and strings. And the man Ernesto who breathed life into that guitar. This
Love the sound of a Martin. My grandfather was a professional musician pre WW2. He played a Martin, and said they were the truest fretting guitar made. Fortunately, my brother inherented all the musical talent, and BOY he's good 😊
nicely done. I didn't think this song could sound anymore beautiful. Blasphemy, i know, but you nailed it, sir! I can see you're actually feeling the song. You f***ing nailed every crescendo masterfully.
You’ll probably never see this comment but I’ve been watching you for years and I wish you could teach me I love how you incorporate everything about it
How does anyone come to this video, or any of his videos for that matter, and consciously hit the dislike button. Like all his other covers, this is incredible for lack of a better term.
Goodness gracious, this rendition is almost preposterously beautiful - I think I counted 8 different variations in attack and/or picking technique. Talk about dynamics! And I’d never noticed the odd timing of the beginning passage until hearing this version, where all the subtleties suddenly came into focus for me. And it’s so smooth the way you wove the vocal part into your guitar playing. And those harmonics are the perfect touch of finesse. Plus, it’s clear that it’s so heartfelt! BRAVO.
Truly beautiful. Captures the emotion of the song and even enhances it in some ways. Instead of cutting and dividing you’ve brought it together; and us as fans!
It was at the age of 34 that I finally began my guitar journey after I had my spiritual awakening. I went through an ego dissolution in which I didnt know who I was anymore, so much so that I was afraid that the person I was becoming was so foreign to me that I thought they were going to kill me, which at the time I thought explained why I had turned so suicidal that year. While I was in the hospital, I could tell that things were different and would never be the same again. And indeed a lot of things did change about me, where before my hobbies were video games and streaming, had now turned to music and art. I had lived such a sheltered life up to that point that I couldnt even tell you one Tool song. I was so musically inept in all areas, except for video game music, of course. But I began to learn just how much music could touch me, so much it could drive me to tears. Thats when I knew I had to learn guitar. That was 4 and a half years ago. And while I'm still a baby in comparison to other people, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that Im happy whenever i pick up my guitar, even though I still feel like I'm shitty, I'm still having fun. Its seeing videos like this that makes me really want to drop my phone and pick up my guitar. Thank you for the inspiration, Ernesto.
One of my all time favourites, this song led me to buy the 10 000 days album when I was about 13 years old when I could finally get a job because mum wouldn’t buy me “this sort of music” Thankyou for this You really are one of a kind
I've never heard of the band Tool, I actually thought you were going to talk about some guitar tool or something but hell! I'm gonna dive into the entire discography now
I hope Maynard, justin, Danny and Adam are aware you Ernesto. And God please bring you on tour with them. You are a living legend how you have put their music together on 1 guitar is nothing but a master class.
Just lost my mom and best friend last month and watching you feel this song and get goosebumps has me crying 😭. I am my towns version of you, transposing every instrument and vocal into lonely acoustic soundscapes. I can't find like minded musicians where I live. Anyways I'm new here, but amazing work. Still tearing up!

did Maynard see that? does he know he don't need 3 musical instruments + his voice to make tool-like sound? This is so graceful, man!
