    Dove - why don't you post the photographers website in the description or her last name so we can find her work. I want to see her photographs and I'm absolutely certain that I'm not the only one.

    I grew up in Fort Collins, Co and got catcalled daily. I get catcalled less in San Antonio, TX (where I live now) then I did there.

    I love this idea she had, it's perfect for getting that little bit of satisfaction and empowerment for yourself. I'm from Colorado Springs. Usually don't get cat called, it only happened once (but I think it's because I look 15 or younger). I do get leered at though.

    Listen, as long as they aren't following you and/or touching you, it's not harassment, it's just sound.

      Its uncomfortable, thats the point. Its unwanted and its so horrible that men think they can just yell at a girl and it would be fine. Its rude and disrespectful and thats why noone likes catcalling. Its objectifying women

    • @cynthiaking5790
      @cynthiaking5790 8 років тому +3

      You know what's also uncomfortable? Wet socks, your period, etc. etc. A lot of things are uncomfortable, that's just life; someone calling out at you is not going to kill you. It's uncomfortable, yes! But it isn't the end of the world. Is it rude? Yes. Is it disrespectful? Yes. But you simply cannot control what people say. You just can't. You just need to hold your head up high and keep walking.

    OMG I have the same issue but in my top area.....Its ridiculous....I love my chest but not because its big....I have two beautiful children that are healthy and strong....And its because of these chest pieces....Lolz....They are for nurturing and being a Cancerian I am all about nurturing and family....So I love that I was given a natural way to help my little ones be strong and thrive....Theres so many women that cant give their children what I gave mine so Im Thankful I had these added parts and I dont see them as anything to be lusted after but they should be appreciated for what they are....Nurturing parts of the Womans body.....Of course males dont see it that way....SMH.

  • @aliasv6964
    @aliasv6964 8 років тому

    Gonna get reamed for this I am sure, but while I think many of these dove commercials are great and inspiring I severely doubt she gets cat called that much.

      Well for the commercial I found the other commercials in this series to be rather inspiring.
      And no my comment just shows that I can't seem to shut up when I really should just shut up.

    I don't like how this ad focuses on the "power" that this woman can use. Let me explain, she specifically mentions how she starts getting cat called as soon as she moved to the city, well let me tell you that cat calling happens everywhere. As a matter of fact, this girl is lucky to be cat called by people she is not going to see again, compared to younger girls that get cat called by their neighbors everyday on their way to school. Yes, this happens, and it's just gross. I understand why Dove portrays a grown woman with power that turns the tables, because showing how a younger girl or even a kid get cat called is something nobody wants to see. I just wonder, how do these girls can "reverse the power dynamic" when they've been seen as meat, objects, and unworthy of respect from a young age. Pretty much only this woman who just moved to the city can because it didn't happen where she used to live and only grown ups live in the city right? I find this ad very unrealistic. I also feel that in a way the photographer has to use her passion to fix her situation herself or let the cat callers just be. But what annoys me the most is when she says "they would just see me as a photographer and not give me those comments anymore" so????? I want to think I'm wrong when I think that this means "your body is not respected, only your job."

  • @cynthiaking5790

    Yes! Catcalling! How DARE people call you pretty! How DARE people make ANY comment about your body!!! I was walking to class one day and someone said told me I was beautiful and to have a nice day! They RAPED ME!!!!
    But in all seriousness, don't you think it's kind of insignificant to complain about people talking about your body? It's a completely different story if they act on these comments and try and touch you; but if they do you just beat them up. It's ridiculous to put this on the same level as rape. Want to complain about a rape culture? Go to the Middle East and stop preaching about how hard your life is in a First World country.

      Why would you harass a woman about her feelings. We would not do that to you. That's not cool at all.

    • @cynthiaking5790
      @cynthiaking5790 8 років тому

      Yea, but it's not my job to monitor other's feelings. I don't know how other people feel. Some people get offended if you tell them that you noticed that they lost weight and look good; other people take that as a compliment. It's not my job to make sure I don't hurt your feelings; however, there are exceptions, there is no reason to be a complete ass, but dicks will be dicks! And there always will be people like that and I can't control them.
