Mine is a 2013 VW Beetle. I was under the impression the wire in harness is just a trigger wire and not 12v. I guess I can test it. If not 12 volt I think you need to use a relay, yes?

So you have the 12v running inside the video cable? Video signal + 12v on the same cable?

Cause my 3rd pin (pink wire) is also connected to the canbus, so I have to cut it from canbus and knot it with the red wire?

does the brown wire that connects to the red wire of the RCA cable have a mark (reverse or back)? How i can find that wire?
Most do not come labeled, if your radio has the diagram in the manual look for the one that is labeled back/reverse or you can test the wire for power with a multimeter while the car is reverse. Depending on your model it should be the 3rd pin next to the red acc wire. Thanks for your comment and good luck

Hello that depends on which model you have. If your vehicle uses canbus then it should already go to the camera option when put in reverse. If not you may want to refer to our other video for universal camera installation. Thanks

1.I didn’t connect the black wire because it causes the image to look staticky when connected.
2.No there is no risk. It uses the canbus system when the car is on to read the reverse signal. This is how thousands of our customers connect it and it always works perfectly

We can’t guarantee it will work but most likely this will fix your issue
As long as you have a CANBUS decoder box connected to your android unit for E46
Hello i need help, i don't understand how i am supposed to connect the red cable with the brown one since the brown one is connected directly to the canbus system. Do i have to unplug it from the canbus system ?
You have to tap into that one by splicing the brown wire

Mine has 2 blue wires coming off the plug that plugs into the back of the unit. What are those for?
Also my the third wire on the power harness by the red wire is pink. I splice into that to connect the red wire then plug the yellow plug into the yellow female end that plugs into the head unit?

Hi thanks for the comment. If the screen is staying black something isn’t connected correctly. Are you sure you connected the camera video input into the dedicated camera plug on your harness? Without knowing which model you have it’s hard to know what is going on.

Hi Conor we see you ordered the aftermarket license plate camera. You need to cut the small white wire on the camera plug to activate ahd
Or you can enter the factory settings and under back car settings you can change the camera to cvbs and press save and it will work as well if you don’t have access to cutting the white wire at the moment, but ahd is better resolution
