What is the best way to apply mesh to terra cotta pots? Do you use a weldbond on your tile, then use thinset to apply to your pots. I’m very interested in using the Mesch for more detailed designs on pots since I’ve seen your first video.
Hi Tom! You got it! Use Weldbond to secure your tesserae to the mesh, and then transfer the mesh to your pot using thinset as the adhesive. Here's the video on using mesh in mosaic art: ua-cam.com/video/g4-NhjcHypg/v-deo.html. Keep creating and I'm thankful you're here!🔥
Hi, Julie. My mam and myself love to pretty up pots for the garden. Is it ok to share your video. The greens are lovely, any flower will be lovely in it. Take Care.
I have seen it recommended that terracotta pots be soaked in water first so that the terracotta doesn't suck the moisture out of the thinset, weakening it. I mist it while I go, because I live in a dry climate and, if the thinset dries too quickly, the tiles pop off. Have you heard this?
Hi JC! Check out the description below the video for a complete materials list including the artist's turn table/wheel. Keep creating and I'm glad you're here!
Can you talk a little about what shape do cut? Like for example for the flowers pot you just cut random pieces of the same size, different shapes? How you decide what would look good for that piece you are creating?
Hi Sandra, the size of the flower pot dictates what size you need to cut your tessera. You don't want your tessera to be so big that they stick out from the curved surface of the flower pot. And yes you're correct, I cut random pieces about the same size in various shades of green. Thanks for watching and I'm glad you're here!
Hello Julie, I am a new subscriber to your channel - I have become hooked on Mosaics, after watching you I bit the bullet and have made 2 small pots, just need to grout them tomorrow. I have 2 of those little white plastic patio tables about 2' x2' square tops. Can I mosaic them and if so, what adhesive and grout would I use? Looking forward to getting started. Thank you, Elizabeth
Hi Elizabeth! Awwww, welcome to my channel!😊 I'm so happy to hear you're hooked on mosaic making. Woo hoo! It's fun, right?!? As for yoru plastic tables.....plastic can (sometimes) be an acceptable substrate for mosaic. It's not ideal to be honest. You need to make sure there's no 'give' in the plastic. You'll need to determine if it's rigid or not. If there's any give whatsoever, it's a firm no. As for the adhesive, fortified thinset-mortar is what I always use for outdoor mosaic projects, and you can also use that for the grout, or use a fortified grout. Do whatever you can to protect your outdoor mosaics, and that includes sealing your grout. This video can help you with that: ua-cam.com/video/5JqZU5ucM_k/v-deo.html. Keep creating and I'm so glad you're here!🔥

Hi Rose, yes, please share! Thank you! Mosaic flower pots are a fun project and totally customizable. Whatever colors and designs you like!
Do you use any safety equipment when cutting the tiles.

May I ask where you purchased your turn table? I really like the usefulness and solidity of it and would come in handy for many things like clay.

What adhesive can be used for mirror on terracotta pots.
Look for a silicone that specifically states it's good for mirror and moisture.⚡
Where do you get the glass gems and what size are they?
Hi Yvonne! Here are some glass gems for size: amzn.to/3XLDY67. Keep creating and I'm so glad you're here!🔥
