Such a helpful tutorial for a beginner like me. So easy to follow. Question about AE in general, where can I get clean vector artwork so I can practice this method on other stuff? Like morph a piano, to a drum, to a guitar for example
Morphing more complex shapes can get really tricky, especially when dealing with the "first vertex" control, and determination of how many anchor points each object contains.
ua-cam.com/video/U8px_w7ZfQM/v-deo.html This video should help you understand a bit more of what I'm talking about. It would be a good intermediate step towards morphing the instruments.
It appears that morphing a square into a circle behaves differently in 2024. When I rotate the first vertex and align both vertices at the same angle, the vertex ends up at the 45-degree point from the nearest vertex. (Additionally, I didn't need the flipping part.) Do you have any advice? Thank you!
Do you know how to set the first vertex? If you select the path then all the vertices will be marked with tiny squares, then if you hold SHIFT key and left click on any of the points, the point will become transparent, then if you right click on the transparent point, go to mask and shape path and select set first vertex. Try setting first vertex to other points until the animation looks right
@@SmertimbaGraphics Thank you so much for your kind and detailed instruction!!! It means so much to someone who is pretty dyslexic in any kinds of apps like this. So many thanks again. Hope you have a wonderful summer.
Hi ! Thank you for this tutorial, it is simple and clear. The problem is solved now ! I tried again, and all of what I said is gone. But if u know why I couldn't converted my Rectangle into a Bezier Path, I'm open However, I can't convert my rectangle into Bezier Path. I didn't know why. I think, in After Effect 2024, the rectangle is automatically converted to Bezier Path but I'm not sure. The real problem is the transition between circle into rectangle looks like a horizontal mirror distortion. Do you know the solution ?
The transition is most likely caused by a first vertex point being in the wrong place. You can shift click on the vertex point then right click and select set first vertex. ( you should google it for a better understanding) As for converting a rectangle into bezier path, I am not sure why that would not work. It works fine in AE 2024 as I am aware
Select the path, then shift + left click on any path point, then right click, go into shape and mask path and select set first vertex. Hope that's what you were asking for
This tutorial is really easy to follow and not too long!!!
Thank you for the feedback ♥️
Im a student and during the lecture i didnt followed my lecturer through the end since he was too fast. thank you for making this tutorial
Happy to help✌️
is it for college?

Freepik is the most accessible source I know for vectors.

can you convert from shape into a single line path with ziz zag i cant convert it into bezier path
As long as you create a zig zag shape layer with fill in it, not a thin line, then yeah.
Thank you , it was easy to follow and I did it :)
Teşekkürler hacı kralsın
thanks man
Any time
Thank you sir!

Great job 👍👍👍
Thanks 👍
Great job
Excellent tutorial!
Could it be possible to carry out the transformation but with some material included?
Thanks, can't say I have tried but it should be possible
@@SmertimbaGraphics I tried and couldn't do it. If you have any advice, I would appreciate it!
How to edit the motion in the graph editor after applying easy ease? It's not a normal graph
Just checked and it is a regular graph, try using speed graph and pull the handles to your liking

HELP! I can't convert to bezier path (I'm working with custom shapes)
Then they might already be bezier paths, if it says just path then you can continue 😁
This works for any form? this one looks so simple
It will work for anything yeah
i did it the exact way you did but i can't click convert to bezier path. it's like unselectable, when it's like grayish yk. what can i do?
It could already be a bezier path 🤔
oh maybe, i didn't check. i'll try ahain then. thx!!
very good
Thank you!
Hello, the video is really cool, tell me, how to make it so that the transformation is not on the same side, but on different ones?
Select the path, then shift + left click on any path point, then right click, go into shape and mask path and select set first vertex.
Hope that's what you were asking for
@@SmertimbaGraphics You are the best, that's what I was talking about, thank you very much :)
No problems❤️😁
Is it gonna work with imported logo?
If you mask it and convert it into a shape layer it will
Why I can't transform it into a bezier path?
It might already be a bezier path then
It is very difficult zoom in and teach i am not able to see the path left side corner
You mean zoom in the video on UA-cam?

nice tutorial no more Blah blah blah direct to the point
It doesn't work very well the shape twists. From a square to a "sausage".
