Caught some good sized trout at Detroit a few weeks ago.
Favorite spot for me too 👌🏼
It's a tough place to beat! All nice fish, tons of access, great scenery.
Loving these videos!
Thanks Mason! Always appreciated 😁
Thanks for sharing the great opportunity’s for catching dinner! 👍🐟😬
Just a few of the many! This list will look very different a few years from now 🐟
Awesome video, Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
My favorite lake is Lake of the Woods. Great trout, Lake Trout, Kokanee, bass, catfish and yellow perch!
Thanks for sharing. Great opportunity for a variety of species. Sounds fun! 🎣
My favorite lake = the secret fishing lake 🤫
Right?! 😂 There's maybe just a few spots that aren't on this list for good reason. 🤫
Nice video man great tips I live here in salem as well will definitely be checking out all the spots you mentioned !!
Thanks! I'm glad this video was helpful for you. Hopefully we'll see you out there.
Just discovered you. Thanks, great list in Oregon.
Thanks so much! 🤙

Thank you so much! This is Toni Landau right?
Always love a new video haha. Ol St. Louis haha and Waverly ! Too funny. Swan lake is the secret
And olalla lake, shhhh lol that one is classified haha
Not necessarily your earth shattering spots but just ones we enjoy! Very different from a destination wish list or your more beautiful or scenic places.
Whoops! Sorry. 😆 Not olalla! I meant Molalla or Wallowa! 😬

Y’all are too funny! Great job 👏
You should check out the lakes at MT Hood. Frog lake and clear lake are stocked with the biggest trout I’ve ever seen.
We will definitely be out there this Spring and Summer! We've done trillium and a few other mountain lakes in the past but not those 2 you mentioned.
Whats up Danny. Not much of a lake fisherman but I will have to give some of these a try. Next time you go to Clear Lake you got to check out Sahalie Falls. Its super close to the lake.
I have been researching Central Oregon fishing, tons of lakes with monsters.
We'll remember that next time we go! Thanks for the info. We have a lot of places to explore!
Dude I know it's a hike but Miller Lake is full of big fish. I troll exclusively for big browns but usually right before Labor Day weekend the dump a ton of broodstock in. I have caught holdovers pushing 8 lbs and browns to 13
Wow, that sounds like a lot of fun and some great fishing! Thanks for sharing.
Very nice bro 👍
Appreciate it, Josh!
I’ll be in Portland for a few weeks, got me a little set up to catch whatever. Would like to get on some crappie but I’ll definitely be checking these spots out.
Awesome! Good luck to you! I've seen people do pretty well on Crappie out at St. Louis Ponds.
Detroit lake is my favorite because I grew up at Detroit. The dam is a great place to fish
That's awesome! My Grandparents used to have a house within a few blocks of the lake so tons of good memories there.
Northwest weekenders you forgot about north fork reservoir in Portland Oregon
Yes! There are lots of lakes that didn't make the cut in this video.
Wow, what a great review of your favorite lakes. Devils lake and Detroit lake are lakes I grew up fishing. You’ll have to do a 10 favorite river video. Great to see Jackson out with you. Thanks much for sharing your video.
Thanks for the kind words and for watching the video! 😁
great vid, just moved to OR and am slowly hitting all these places!
That's so awesome! Glad to hear. We'll probably have a new list every year or two. But those are just tried and true places that we catch a lot of fish..Good luck out there 😀
Caught a few nice rainbows at silverton today, great spot!
@@denisjames8024 Love to hear it!
detroit is restocking with 32k trophy trout over the summer also id recommend going to south lake near hebo. just went and we caught so many trout that we had to catch and release
Yes, Detroit definitely stays very well stocked with fish. 🐟
Thanks for the suggestion!
I didn’t know they put broods in Waverly lake (Albany). I hooked into one last spring using an ultralight with 4lbs. line. Thought I hooked into a giant Bass. I took a few minutes to get it in. Was using a pink Rooster Tail.
What a thrill that must have been. Great catch!
good video we happen to live in turner or
Thank you! You're very fortunate. I love that city.
Writes this down !
Just our favorites! There are lots of options out there 🐟
@@northwestweekenders yes there is!
this should be titled Central Oregon Fishing spots
Thanks for the suggestion!
No Cutthroat fishing ? Kokanee ? Dolly Vardens ?
This video was meant to show our favorite rainbow trout fishing spots so that people can get into some fish around here. It doesn't mean they are the literal best spots because that's very subjective, but they are some of our most fruitful trout fishing spots. We haven't done any cutthroat or Dolly varden fishing.
@@northwestweekenders awesome , I am up in Vancouver BC , I use to go down to Eugene a lot so this would have been helpful thanks ,
Great to see they release lots of Bruts ,
@@squamishfish 🤙
Come and fish ochoco reservoir with me a very nice place lots of big trout stay fishy Redmond OREGON
We'd love to!
@@northwestweekenders the trout bites been really good big fish between 16 to 24 inches
@@user-so3yg1oj1d Sounds like fun!
How do you get stocking info in Oregon?
Google "Oregon Trout Stocking schedule." ODFW has a proposed schedule. It is as accurate as they know ahead of time but not all of the stockings take place due to factors out of our control like water temperature.
@@northwestweekenders thank you 🙏🏻
None of the fish you are talking about are "nice" or "quality." Every single individual featured in this video is hideous. Do you fish for anything other than stocked (i.e. farmed) trout?
Thanks for your opinion. You sound like a very kind individual.
We have caught Surf Perch, Rock Bass, Ling Cod, Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, Catfish, Yellow Perch, Sturgeon, Shad, Red Rock and Dungeness Crab on our channel, so to answer your question...yes. 😁
We sure do enjoy trout fishing because it's relaxing and it's what we have time for in this busy season of our lives.
I want to complain that not a single one of your trout or the places you fish are wild trout, nor can they support a wild trout. These are just brood stalk that were dumped in an algae pond, but its a good thing because then every spinner fishing goof would be out in the wild nice places baiting wild trout to near extinction.
Fair enough. We have a lot of different fisheries to explore and lots to learn. I suppose this video was intended to put people on fish at stocked local lakes and ponds.
So you just want to complain? Hmmm
@@Nep311 some people are fun! 😁
Just last year, I caught a 22 inch trout out of Devils Lake in Lincoln city off of that same dock
That's awesome! Great fish!
