Tim also worked closely with Geoff on his bass and showed him some techniques to grow his bass a little deeper also he has been working with Adam Chance on his bass so he can fill in the bass line when Tim is on lead vocals..mayday is a prime example of Adam Chance covering the bass line
@@janeames1513holy crap that’s so cool. I love them because they are so helpful and careless about taking the lead. They all want to see each other shine. What an amazing group. Thanks for sharing that!
Because of social distancing, they had to innovate and the different screens fit the bill perfectly. This is the best rendition I’ve heard of this song. Besides their natural talent, I’n sure they worked on it hard. We get to enjoy the result. 😊
4:26 The left-right riffle just before the key-change is just some sort of voodoo. Austin's growl into his counter-tenor at the very end is simply magnificent.
I ENJOYED PERCY SINGING THIS ICONIC SONG AT THE ZODIAC CLUB IN JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI IN 1975!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE GUYS ABSOLUTELY NAILED IT. PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are so right! Not sure why they faded out his mesmerizing voice! He did a fantastic job on this song. The harmonies and Adams beatboxing were amazing😮. Great reaction 🎉 I love Home Free😊
This is so perfect for Austin to sing. The feelings he had for his girlfriend really shows in this cover. It really screams of that "I love you" to her. He's amazing singer and a really amazing man! Austin has also written some of their songs. My favorite he has written are "Winter Song" and "Love Me Like That"
Thank you for your reaction. Austin did a fabulous job of this classic song. Loved Percy Sledge's version, but this was taken to another level. And remember this was done during quarantine, so the guys weren't even together. The backing harmonies are great, along with Tim's bass. And Adam's vocal percussion is outstanding. This is why these guys are my favorite a cappella group.
As a vocalist myself I enjoy these vocal coach reactions so much because they understand just how extraordinary and difficult the things some of these artists are doing actually are
Austin and Adam killed it. This was during Covid so Austin was the only one in the studio and the others from their individual homes. Loved the tv’s, just so clever. Austin can belt it for sure. He has his own channel and he’s been doing a lot of songs from his home. Recently he had Tim over (Austin Brown music) and they sang My Maria and Tim goes high this time. Really good. Great reaction Danielle.
Another social distancing video. This was pretty perfect. You need to react to songs on Austin Brown Music, his solo channel. He and Tim did a cover of “My Maria” and Austin recently sang “Tears In Heaven” and “Danny Boy” to name a few. Thanks for your reaction
Recommend you listen to Home Free and Peter Hollens singing, I still Haven’t found what I am Looking for “. It is a masterpiece of production with over 350 voices incorporated in the production.
Thank you Danielle, these guys are just so super talented. They may do country music most of the time but tthey are at the top of the acapella world in terms of talent. Austin was also singing to his lady, Amberly who was right off set, so he had some inspiration. This was filmed in January & released in February so the guys were still in quarantine. Sounded like they were all together though ! Please look at one Austin & Tim just did on Austin's channel (Austin Brown) called My Maria, you will be blown away !!!
During a pre-premiere chat on UA-cam, a fan asked Adam Rupp how long it took him to learn to beatbox. Adam's answer was, "I'm still learning." And from what I've read, he's constantly learning new sounds & new techniques so he just gets better. And regarding the end, several of the reactors have said, "NO, don't fade it there!!" So you weren't alone on that.
Austin has such a wonderful voice, just fantastic. And the background music is so clear, so perfect, the beatboxing by Adam so great, love this song. These guys are the best. Love your reaction!
For those of us born in the 80s, I loved this cover....because it was a Perfect, PERFECT tribute to Percy Sledge, the Original Artist.... I hope Mr. Sledge isn't forgotten or pushed aside....both version got the same reaction from me - "When a Man Loves a Woman" is absolutely a STANDARD for a true ballad...
Agreed. This old lady was born December 12, 1959-and I’m not embarrassed to state my age-because I’ve had an awesome life so far. I like this version better than the one by Michael Bolton!
Adam "Chance" "Cover me up" good song he takes lead in also "Country Roads" and "In the Blood" has great parts in also and of course "Mayday" when they think you're ready lol
Love your acapella reviews so much! Austin's riffs and runs really add the magic to this performance! We wanted to see them on tour in Dallas in December, but the tickets sold out immediately back in April. 🙁
I'm looking forward to your reaction.....I've seen them in concert many times and they never fail to make me want to fall to my knees.........their harmonies are unreal.
Incredible cover. Austins into is like the bow of a great ship crashing through a sea of butter gravy background harmony. love it! Percy Sledge should be proud.
Austin uses his whole body when he sings and it also shows his passion about what he is singing. The backing vocals are so good too. Whish they hadn't faded out at the end. Thanks for a great reaction Danielle
This was one of their quaranteen videos, the only one in the studio was Austin. The rest of the guys did their thing from their homes across the country. A reaction to their quaranteen videos would be so much fun, they had to come up with some new and really cool ideas to keep the music coming for their fans. I have to second the request from below for a reaction from you for Austin singing Les Miserables !!!! Wonderful version !!
Loving your reactions! I only discovered Home Free recently and I am completely hooked. They do a song with Peter Hollins and a crowd of Patreons that makes me teary eyed every time. "Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" from U2.
I've watched a lot of reactions to this and you are the first to mention Adam Rupp's "zipper" sound effect in the step-up key transition. What a wonderful way to announce the key change with both humor and effectiveness. A touch of genius that adds a lot to the arrangement. Austin really knocks this one out of the park. My one criticism has to do with the recording. It sounds to my ears like there is too much compression on the background vocals. But maybe the recording engineer was going for a pop record kind of sound and the compression was part of the effect.
Great song and great reaction! I love Home Free, with Austin being my fav of the group. May i suggest Unchained Melody (there are 2 videos...one with HF and one just with Austin, which can be found on his channel) and Two Country Singers Try to Sing Opera featuring Austin and Rob.
Love your reactions. You gotta check out Austin's cover of "tears in heaven" that he just released last week. Talk about capturing the mood and essence of a song its incredible and I think you'll love it. It's amazing
This was recorded during lockdown, so all the guys were at home, except for Austin in the studio. Amberly was in studio with Austin, so he was singing this to her. I think it shows.
I saw Percy Sledge when I was around 17 or 18 in a bar in Augusta, Ga. He sang this and I’ve never thought anyone would ever cover this and make it as good. I’m at a crossroads to believing Austin does it better. He’s singing to his girlfriend in the room, I believe. I think all of them have great pronunciation when they are singing. You don’t hear that often.
Thank you Danielle! i truly loved your reaction to this classic by Austin and Home Free! as usual,.......i learn things about singing every time i watch your reaction vids! Keep it up! Take care and God Bless!
Austin is maybe the glue to this group. I say that with a lot of trepidation....damn these guys are so good. They can create music that others try...and while really good just doesn't match up. Yes, Tim can go super deep (I love it....I can't go that low but it's fun to get close)....but Austin has so much vocal talent. That's saying something with this group.
When Austin is side glancing into the camera and looks like he is hitting on you, he is actually looking at his wife who was on set when they filmed it. Just makes me like him more.
Really nice reaction! This could’ve been produced before they were out of quarantine! beautiful performance!! Listen to Austin’s latest collaboration with Tim Foust, Chris Chatham, Chris Marion(Tim’s brother-in-law) & Sebastian on Austin’s channel! They’re singing my Maria by Brooks and Dunn!! Another great video!!
#subscriptionsquad Welcome to the Home Fries squad!!! Lol. Yes, you are now an official "Home Fry"... thats what we fans of Home Free call ourselves. Love your reactions so far. I just subscribed to your channel and enjoy your videos very much. In my opinion, Home Free takes the cake when it comes to acapella music. I have a request for you. If you enjoy Tim's bass, check out their cover of Folsom Prison Blues. Tim gets subharmonic in it and its amazing!!! Keep up the great videos!!!
I recently saw a reaction to this in another channel and they were saying he was "taking them to church", which I think is a nice comparison with gospel choirs in black churches but it doesn't do him justice. He doesn't take you to church, it takes you all the way to the gates of heaven itself but his voice is so powerful that even Satan can hear him down in hell and even the Devil himself can't help but being moved by the amazing voice of that mere mortal. What a voice, whar power, what immense talent!!
Loved watching your face as the song played. Your reaction is closest to mine as I heard this masterpiece. And, what a beautiful young lady you are. Love your reviews and reactions. Your mama must be proud.
I also recommend Austin and Tim's cover of 'Maria" This one will blow your mind... Austin sings the LOW harmonies... and Time grabs and sings the Highs. It is truly amazing and beautiful. Please react. Thumbs up!.
If you enjoyed the videography of this song, you should check out their collaboration with Peter Hollins - a cover of U2's 'I still haven't found what I'm looking for'. If you want to see Rob shine, check out their cover of Boys 2 Men's 'End of the Road'. Love your reactions to Home Free, thank you and enjoy!
The song you want is their Mayday Cover if you want to hear Austin's upper ranges as well as a certain someone else's higher range as well...def worth hearing.
New Sub! Loving your Home Free (and Voctave) reactions, please keep them coming they both have very deep libraries and as you've discovered, you're never left disappointed or wanting. #subscriptionsquad
What makes this song difficult IMHO is the slow speed and the temptation it offers to overindulge the rubato. But there's Adam keeping the whole thing moving - the unsung hero of this piece.
Austin was singing to his girlfriend. She was onstage, but off camera, and he kept stealing glances at her while he was singing.
Yep - he changed the lyrics a little...
Hard to believe but Tim spent the last 3/4 years convincing and pushing Austin to do this cover , thank god Tim is patience LOL
Tim also worked closely with Geoff on his bass and showed him some techniques to grow his bass a little deeper also he has been working with Adam Chance on his bass so he can fill in the bass line when Tim is on lead vocals..mayday is a prime example of Adam Chance covering the bass line

Unchained Melody by Austin himself is another fantastic cover.
Yesssss!
The backyard live performance on 9/25 is better then the original
He really did a cover of that? It takes very little to ruin it and very very much to even go on par.
You'd DEFINITELY love this one, I totally agree!!!
@@SargonnasIncarnate he did it.

Every man that Ever Loved a Woman, this says it all, better to have loved and lost than never loved at all
Austin was made for this song and he killed it we all want the end to be full volume but we take what we get and love it
You really need to do a reaction to "One Man Band" and "Mayday"! I love both of those songs. And if you want a funny one, try out "Butts Remix".
I second the motion for Mayday!

This is the closest cover to the original that I've ever heard...could be better than the original....Austin is amazing.
I feel like it leaned more towards Michael Bolton's version rather than the original but it was amazing nonetheless
I think the recording equipment was junk in those days compared to what we have today!
@@hancock1475 ,, Hahhaaha. Well, in "Those Days" it was top of the line.
@@bflandragon90 ,, Ya, Bolton had a beat boxer that was ,,,,,, Oh, Never mind.
Ya, Dale. That is what I was thinking also, and I was there.
