Yes, welcome to Home Free, all acapella, no instruments at all. Masters of all musical genres. Organized in a college dorm in Minnesota in 2000; they won the 4th season of the Sing Off in 2013. Two are from Minnesota, one from Georgia, one from Texas and one from Alabama (Current members, Chris left the group in 2016 and was replaced by Chance). Their covers are upgrades, their medleys are brilliant, their collaborations with the original artists are inspirational, and their original songs are masterpieces. Within this 5 man vocal band you have 5 tenors, 5 beat boxers, and 2 bass-baritones. Adam Rupp, one of the original founders of the group, is their beat boxer extraordinaire. All of them can sing lead and they choose depending on whose voice best fits the song. They can do just about anything and they continue to grow and improve, yet they remain so humble. When they have featured guest artist, they support and allow their featured artists to shine. Several of them have their own channels and do some solo work. And just for fun Rob and Austin sing Opera. What else can I say? Their catalogue of work is quite large and continues to grow. You are in for an exciting journey and the Home Fries will be there for you all the way.
Austin does amazing job on this song 😊
Tim Foust bass has a 5 + octave range he can sing so low he has blown speakers at concerts and can sing sky high.
Tim also is a songwriter, check out one of his songs " CHAMPAGNE TASTE ON A BEER BUDGET "( both solo and with his band mates)
You guys should keep watching their video's - especially the one they do for Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire" - it includes the former base from Pentatonix - and their version of "Man of Constant Sorrow" - Home Free actually has two bass singers and one of them hits extremely low like the Pentatonix bass - maybe even lower
And with Don McLean "American Pie"
Tim actually has a lower range than Avi
If you want low check out Do you hear what I hear.
Home Free styled themselves as an all vocal country band when they won the sing-off in 2013. They do, however, sing about every genre there is…including opera
HomeFree is more country than Pentatonix.
For Christmas, try “Christmas in LA” or “What Christmas Means to Me” for an upbeat song.
“Do You Hear What I Hear” is older, but a very interesting version.
If she misses the "old style songs", show her Tim Foust's doo wop songs from his album "Pieces of Me Vol. 1". To compare Tim (bass for Home Free) to Avi Kaplan (bass for PTX) show "Ring of Fire" by Home Free featuring Avi.
Kevin from PTX is VERY talented, but I think the vocal percussion sounds from Adam are the best around. Tim is able to cover 5+ octaves and can sing super low to tenor. He can get very low and have worked with other basses to help them improve their lower register...is somewhat famous in the bass world. Austin has an amazing high tenor voice, Rob (guy with beard) is a tenor, Chance is baritone/bass and Adam is the vocal percussionist that also sings tenor.
I love that you love your wife so much you’d pick out a song like this because she loves PTX and it’s a love song. A real man reacts to love songs with his girl if he friggin wants
their cover of End of the Road by Boys II Men might be a fun one to react to
fun fact the bass from home free actually taught Avi from pentatonics how to develop his bass range more and reach the subharmonics
This struck me as a peculiarly pointless exercise. I don't know why Americans are obsessed with measuring things and making things bigger. Music is an art, not a competitive sport, but people talk as if Tim's 5 octaves was a badge of honour, as if he is somehow a better singer because he goes so low. Personally I am not very interested in the bass voice. Tim's upper register (as in Give Me a Sign) is lovely but I prefer Geoff and particularly Avi when it comes to the lower levels.
@@patriciamcl54 you wanted to talk about pointless exercises ... that waffling comment was one of them
So glad that yall enjoyed this, it aint simping, yall just keep enjoying each other! I read the comments and they already express what I thought, hehe.
You two are awesome together! I love how Ash melted when Austin started singing - and her smile never faltered throughout the entire song - she was enraptured. Anyone who says you're simping for Ash is just jealous of what y'all have.
Since Ash loves the bass - y'all should check out Brothers in Arms (Dire Straits cover) or Folsom Prison Blues (Johnny Cash cover).
Very nice reaction, and you are a very nice couple! You should react to HF's Stargazer Lilies to see who Austin was singing to in Man Loves A Woman.
I agree❤
Actually Austin wrote a trilogy for his now wife called Stargazer Trilogy:
Chapter 1 - Give Me A Sign
Chapter 2 - Stargazer Lilies
Chapter 3 - Mr.
Then follow that with
Playing With Fire ❤️🔥
Tim foust is the bass, he has solo stuff, "can't help falling in love" shows his range pretty good, has the most range I've ever heard, he gets pretty deep on "a man of constant sorrow" with homefree, a lot of songs lol
Homefree has a bunch of good covers. I really like their version of “man of constant sorrow “ as well. They even did “friends in low places”
Home Free is so good on songs like this, also country, folk, soft rock. Austin is sooo good as a lead, and their beat boxer is just spectacular. PTX is good but they really don’t seem to venture outside of a comfort zones
Next a capella to cover are the “theater kids”, Voice Play. That’s yet another rabbit hole to fall into. Their bass, Geoff (pronounced Jeff) Castelucci, is utterly brilliant
I agree Dave, I really wish they hadn't faded out his high run at the end!
And you know what, I LOVE the mushiness between you two 😊 It makes me smile; so sweet I have to take insulin because my glucose level spikes up. Haha jk on that last part - but seriously, I love this song, and this was a great reaction! 😍
In my opinion, this was not the best introduction to Home Free, but I hope you will introduce more covers later.
I had my own thoughts when she compared the bass to Pentatonics. You just wait and see.
Dave you are a very lucky man. It's.not simping when every compliment is deserved.
Austin did a fabulous job of this classic song. Loved Percy Sledge's version, but this was taken to another level. I think it is also better than Michael Bolton's version. And remember this was done during quarantine, so the guys weren't even together. The backing harmonies are great, along with Tim's bass. And Adam's vocal percussion is outstanding. Drummers have often commented on just how realistic his sound is. This is why these guys are my favorite a cappella group.
😍 Austin ❤️🔥🔥. Wonderful reaction. Cute couple.
Three songs you really need to check out by Home Free are, 1. Listen to the Music, 2. Man of Constant Sorrow, and Sea Shanty Medley. Oh there is more but these 3 will show the pure talent these guys have.
Butts medly, American pie, God bless the USA too!
Happy Holidays
Austin Brown (the lead singer) and his then girlfriend (now wife) were the only ones in the studio and she's behind the camera. All those seductive looks were aimed at her. Austin has musical theatre training and is a lyric tenor. Every one of the group has a fantastic voice, even Adam Rupp, the beatboxer. The lead for any given song depends on who's best for the song. You should absolutely go down this Home Free rabbit hole! You will not be disappointed. There are a few songs I recommend: Brothers in Arms (by Dire Straits), Helplessly Hoping (by Crosby, Stills, and Nash), the Sea Shanty Medley (has 36 million views!), and End of the Road (Boys to Men). Also, extracurricular songs (they all do them) are: Bring Him Home, by Austin (have tissues), and Nessun Dorma by Austin and Rob. Also My Maria on Austin's back deck with Tim Foust, who has a five octave range and sings tenor on that one. They never disappoint! Also Delta Dawn! If anything their covers are better than the originals.
Love your reactions! You guys are cute together. I've been married to the love of my life for 41 years now. May you surpass me!
Home Free is my favorite a cappella band and I will be there if you react to more. I really like their cover of Listen to the Music by Doobie Brothers, The Butt Medley of various songs about butts (gotta hear it to believe it!), and Helplessly hoping by Crosby, Stills and Nash with a 5 part harmony.
My favorite vocal band will turn you into an a cappella fan, and in my case, taught me to enjoy country music as well as many other genres that my classical training had avoided! Their diversity is incredible, the talents and skills phenomenal, and arrangements creative. Follow them and you'll get a swarm of HF fans following you! HF never lets me down.
Love these guys and Voiceplay! Austin actually had his fiancee sitting there while he was singing. They all killed this song! I think Percy Sledge would be proud....
Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole. It runs deep. Austin killed this! The harmonies and beat boxing are par excellence. Home Free in my opinion are one of the best acapella groups around. They do different genres. Keep reacting to them and watch your subscriptions go up. Percy Sledge would definitely be proud. Love your reactions!
Oh yes! Discovering #homefree will give you more pleasure than you could have imagined. They're food for the soul, and seriously addictive. Amazing singers, each of them, and unbelievable harmonies. Their recent release of Stand by Me is great. And if you want a Christmas tune, check out their Do You Hear What I Hear, arranged by their beatboxer, Adam Rupp.
These guys are my favorite!! They are just enough country to suit me. Love them. Thanks for reacting. Please bring us more Home Free! ❤❤❤
Homefree is better in my opinion. They can sing anything. PTX are good but basically sound and arranged the same. Tim can go way, way, way lower .
You have to check out their cover of “Do You Hear What I Hear,” and “O Holy Night” as well as their original “Christmas In LA,” and “Mary Did You Know.” They are all excellent, you won’t be disappointed!
You need to hear Austin singing unchained Melody by himself!! Another mine blowing performance!
Keep watching more home free you will love all their videos
God, he uses his eyes in such a "flirty" way by looking right into the camera with his message....absolutely captivating.
Don’t compare them, just enjoy them all - they each bring something different to the table.
Ash's stank-face is so cute!
It’s a good one. This was during Covid so I thought the use of tvs was clever. Tim (the bass) has a very low voice, he’s just not going there on this song. He helped both basses Avi of PTX and Geoff of Voiceplay to go lower. Home Free was very active during Covid and put out lots of music and helped me keep sane. Try some Christmas music, Mary Did You Know, O Holy Night, Christmas in LA. Enjoy! 😍😃
Well done Dave. Made your girl smile with this song.
These guys are amazing! This is a fantastic rabbit hole. Try their "End of the Road" next.
Their cover of Mayday is incredible!
U got yourself a keeper Dave 💪🏻
Tim, the lower bass, hits the lowest C on the keyboard, in Skull and Bones. A song commissioned by Ubisoft for a new game, written by Chance, the other bass, baritone! It will positively knock your socks off! Just a fair warning, spontaneous pregnancies have been reported! Also, a panty drop or two are sunstantiated
More pleeeeeease🙏🏼
Thanks for your reaction. I think the fade out actually works, although at first hearing I felt a bit cheated by it. Austin has gone to the limit in intensity and musically, and there's nowhere left for him to go except soaring up. We feel he could go on all day (which he probably could) with those glorious clear notes, but the song has to end some time. So we leave our lovely tenor wandering up there completely dazed with how much in love he feels. Any form ending would feel like a downer.
The guy from Pentatonic (Avi Kaplan) actually sings with Home Free on their cover of "Ring Of Fire". He has a very low register but so does Tim Foust. Geoff Castellucci (spl?), of the group Voice Play, has a boomingly low register. The singers all know one another and collaborate fairly often. A Capela groups are a fairly small universe. This song was a showcase for Austin. Catch their version of "How Great Thou Art" with the Swiss Alps as backdrop. Parts of that sound like there is a pipe organ. Good reaction, thanks. I might simp for her too if I knew what that meant.
Percy Sledge is the original singer... MUST LISTEN TO HIS VERSION...BEAUTIFUL:)
Welcome to the Home Free rabbit-hole! Jump right in! If you want low, low, LOW notes, react to Tim Foust’s (bass extrodinare) cover of “Misty Mountain”! I promise you, you won’t be disappointed! Peter Hollens is also singing with him on it. They sound amazing together.
They have such great harmony.
You haven't heard Tim's low bass yet. He has gone so low that he blew the speakers at a show. Avi Kaplan is the bass from Pentatonix he has performed with Home Free in the song Ring Of Fire. Geoff Castellucci from another acepello group Voice Play has credited Tim with helping him with his bass voice. Brothers In Arms is a good one for Tim's bass. They do serious songs as well as funny ones. They sing different genres.
I saw Percy Sledge do this song live in a small club in Virginia Beach back in the day. The bandstand barely held Percy and the band, the people had to sit on the dance floor so he could be seen and he was close enough to throw a glass of beer on him. I wondered if he would sound anything like the recording. He killed it, along with "It Tears Me Up", "Out Of Left Field", "Cover Me", "Take Time To Know Her", "Warm And Tender Love"... - unforgettable performance.
Tim the bass singer says 'hold my beer' with the low note challenge thrown out there....must react to more.
Subscribed for #HomeFree reactions, I truly enjoyed y'all's reaction today❣🤗
Ashley's face is going to need a day off to recover from all that smiling.
Speaking of Avi, he's in a music video with Home Free, "Ring of Fire". If you watch it, you will see how low Tim (Home Free's bass) can go. He can actually sing lower than Avi. I read an interview where Scott from PTX said that Tim helped train Avi with his lower notes. I've heard he also helped Geoff, the bass from Voiceplay. Tim has a 5 octave range and considered an OG of a cappella bassists.
Tim Foust, the bass from Home Free has a 5 octave voice range from B-0 to A-5 plus he helped Avi and Geoff reach their deep bass. Christmas is coming and you could bless a new subscriber by reacting to Home Free "Do You Hear What I Hear."
New subscriber for Home Free.
I love the way she smiles through the whole video . Her smile makes me smile
Keep up the fun romance. Home Free is an amazing group of individual talents that seem to really like being together and performing. They respect one another and it seems that when they are not making you laugh, cry, or think, they work at getting the women worked up emotionally with winks, nods and come on signs. All of the boys are married, and apparently happily so. Don't worry about simping with HF she loves it. Tim Foust, the bass, regularly performs in the 0 registry, their other bass singer, Adam "Chance" usually performs in the baritone range, unless Tim is singing as a tenor, his lowest note is only slightly higher than Tim's as of the last indication, Tim has been performing more in the higher registers. Adam Rupp, the beat boxer, has an amazing range though I have not seen anyone tracking his actual voice on the scales. Rob, the beard, is an operatic baritone and tenor, and has mastered most of the techniques in modern music, his voice is perfection. And then there is Austin, the lead in this little ditty, Tim talked him into doing this song, but he is just a perfect fit into the group and his smile is as infectious IRL as it is captured on the film, and from testimonials, has the same affect on the women everywhere he goes. The comments on songs where Tim and Austin are featured together tend to approach a lewd interpretation. Like any of the Home Fries watching, this could go on for hours, so I apologize for over indulging with my personal observations and encouragements to continue watching Home Free, even if it is not as a reaction.
I totally agree with Dave on the fade-out. I would have loved to hear Austin's high riffing at the end at full volume.
And I had to smile when Austin started singing and Ash froze. 🙂 Definitely check out more Home Free!
Tim's solo material would be worth a look, too.
And for something completely different, I'll bring up Ayreon again because I think you two would really like that project.
A good starting point would be:
Ayreon - The Day That The World Breaks Down - The Source (2017)
ua-cam.com/video/oFuMKdrzPqU/v-deo.htmlsi=EnMxYMWQIPL8IZHF
It is the video basically everyone starts with. But the text-pop ups with background information from the composer/producer make it a really good first video if you don't know then yet.
Y'all are so cute!
Actually Tim Foust sings deeper bass that Avi Kaplan of Pentatonix.
Check out "Tim Foust blows speaker system"
Original was Percy Sledge. We interviewed Percy in 75 at my radio station where I was an old school DJ. He was somewhat hammered when he got there BTW there was no such thing as simping back then !!!!!!!!!!
Avi sings with Home Free on Ring of Fire.
Home Free's cover of Folsom Prison Blues is a much lower song than this and really shows off the baritone and bass.
Check out Austin Brown singing Bring Him Home from Les Miserable! Phenomenal! Plus Tim Foust has some great solo work as well! If you like Tim's Basso Profundo voice you'll love Geoff Castellucci! More Home Free please! Thank you!
Keep listening to these fellows AND PTX. Both groups are beyond awesome and keep us listeners in awe....
The way she looked at you bro… lucky man
By far my favorite song by Home Free. Great job guys.
Ya'll should listen to them sing Listen to the music a cover of the Doobie Brothers . Although most of their songs are country based, they've covered everything from Patsy Cline to Dire Straits. They're amazing
These guys are so fun to listen to. I love them.
Home Free is simply the best out there
Time to try Home Free for 200+ more.
oh balls, Welcome to a happy rabbit hole of talent and guys who have fun doing it.
Just off camera his fiancé Amberly was sitting in the studio with him. He was singing this song to her, that's those looks at the camera she was just beside the camera. Come on girls, tell the truth, could you not melt if he was singing to you? Give their cover of "How great thou Art". We even get to hear Adam Rupp the beat boxer singing in his beautiful Alto voice. It's great.
Bro, there’s nothing simp about showing your lady you love her
Greetings from a danish fry / new sub , i hope you´re ready for the fries [ fan name ] when reactors say they like our guys we´ll come running the fries are known as a very loyal and friendly fanbase there are many fans who love both PTX and Home Free [ they are called PentaFries ] HF sings a lot of lovesongs so we love the mushiness 🥰🥰 much love and respect from Denmark
After .listening to that song someone is going to have a happy ending❤
You two need to listen to more Home Free. I’m wondering if Dave got lucky after her hearing this. 😂
If Ash likes that kind of stuff check out Homefrees cover of Thinking Out Loud/Lets Get It On. Its an oldie but a goodie! Its when Chris Rupp was still in the group a great cover! I actually prefer Adam Chance, Chris Rupps Replacement cause he can carry the bass line when time goes high.
After running by test audience the legal team said they had to fade out his ending notes.
YES…More …HOME FREE 💗❣️‼️💗❣️
And…….
MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄🌲❄️🌲🎄‼️
You didn’t need to say anything your reaction was obvious and one of my favorites!
Austin Brown (the lead in this video) should be a superstar. And please show your darling wife Home Free's cover of 'Ring of Fire', which has as a guest artist the Bass from Pentatonix - Avi Kaplan.
Simp all you like young man.. I'm 68 and simp a lot. They don't like it? I have directions to a perfect spot for 'em. Great job!
"Simp" all you want, you two! Many female reactors have commented about Austin flirting with the camera. The fact is, his then-fiancee was in the studio with him, and he was singing to her. If you enjoy deep, bass voices, you should definitely check out Voiceplay. Their bass singer, Geoff Castellucci, has an inhuman range. I say that, assuming you haven't already. If/when you do, you should check out their cover of "Oogie Boogie's Song" from "The Nightmare Before Christmas". Geoff also has a solo channel, and has a cover of "Mele Kalikimaka" (sp?) featuring The American Sirens.
She wasn't his fiancee at that time. They got engaged and married this year.
Tim breaks speaker systems when he goes low
Beautiful Timeless Song.
Home fry here. You all are too cute. I'll be here for anything HF. If you want to hear some Tim Foust base check out Brothers in Arms
You really need to check out Home Free's "Ring of fire" featuring Avi Kaplan (Pentatonix base)... Having both Tim and Avi in one video shows how different their voices are. I personally believe Tim can go lower but, Avi is more crisp as far as base notes are concerned. And as far as your relationship goes, you could have said "2 1/2 years in and the bathroom door stays open" 🤣
Austin owns this song now. He kills this song. CK out End of the Road💞💞
Listen to their "Ring Of Fire". Their joined by Pentatonix base singer. Both bass singers kill it on that song.
Together your DASH
you mentioned the bass for Pentatonix - Check out Home Free doing Ring of Fire, featuring teir bas, AND the Pentatonix bass
This is a deep rabbit hole!!!
Check out brothers in arms to hear more of the bass. Home Free is unmatched. So good.
Simp away. Eff em. Here for the Home Free.
They have hundreds of songs, all good. Check their catalog, I'm sure they have some you'll recognize.
Home Free's beatboxing and PTX's beatboxing are both great but different at the same time. Adam utilises the P snare most of the time, whereas Kevin utilises the K snare more.
I hate the fading out 😡
You are such a sweet couple!
The bass, Tim FOust is who all bass singers desire to be.
Strange, then, that Avi has so many more followers than Tim.
@@patriciamcl54 its an actual quote by Avi.
Masterpiece from the boys
Great! Please check out Home Free, featuring Don Mclean doing the classic, "American Pie." Don Mclean recorded it more than 50 years ago!
