I used to like Tim when I first found them because I love bass and his bass is amazing, but Chance's voice is smooth and sexy and Austin's got those incredible high notes and can belt them clearly, and Rob has some soul in him his runs are incredible and of course, the beatboxer Adam is wow at what he can do also so now my favorite varies from one to the other, but all of them together? Perfection!
If you want to see how good Tim is by his self, try " Will You still Love Me Tomorrow / Stay. He does everything his self and see his High notes.
The only thing more enjoyable than hearing their version of this song is watching female reactors' reactions to it! 😄

If you liked this one by Austin then try his original songs he has written for his girlfriend/ now wife. ( Stargazer Trilogy). It is 3 songs about meeting his wife and how it made him feel. I love part two myself but all 3 are good.
For the fun side of Home Free you should check out the "Butts Remix" and "Hillbilly Bone", these guys can pretty much do anything.
Going to their concert in French Lick tomorrow. If I absolutely had to pick a favorite Home Free song, then I would probably pick End of the Road. There is another 10 or 12 songs just as good. They just don't have any bad songs...
His girl Amberly was just out of camera view, so he was basically singing to her...thats where you get the emotion from. There isn't a bad song in the bunch.
Amberly is now Mrs. Austin Brown. By the way, Austin's performance that weekend ruined things for the rest of the male population. HF released this video, then he released a cover of "Unchained Melody" and an original ballad called "Take the Night Off" (complete with steamy video co-starring Amberly). How do flowers and chocolates compete with THAT?!

As for favorite members, I believe most of us seasoned Home Fries who have followed them since their Sing Off days ten years ago have realized each one of them are so individually and uniquely talented in their own right that missing anyone of them would not make them as fantastically great as one of the finest vocal groups on the planet. So the answer is all of them are favorites, with the caveat that the current group make up with Chance seems to have greater versatility than the previous group with Chris, imho. Love your honest HF reactions.
Hats off to Chris, he poured his heart and soul into Home Free to make it great, then discovered who could take the group to the next level.

Austin's fiancé Amberly was sitting in the studio with him. He was basically singing to her. You know Percy Sledge is smiling in heaven saying, "Damn, this boy can SANG and he's doing my song Justice. Go ahead on young man".
Have you noticed that the backgrounds are just plain simple in all of their videos. All vocals are just amazing from each member. The amazing things is when you see them in person they sound this good.
Oh and this was done with each member at their homes across the country.

Austin can definitely play to the camera. Luckily he brought Amberly right next to the camera and was singing right to her. (Now his wife). Tim worked for a long time to convince Austin to sing this and I am glad he did. To see the sigificant others of our guys, check out Spaceship, Between A Rock And A Heartache, Some Girls Do, and Die A Happy Man. White Christmas and Friends In Low Places will show glimpses of Adam Rupp's Ericha who is very camera shy.
Sunday Best has some family...and you see Adam's adorable daughter (Adam is an adorable dad). I think that Ericha was having their son when it was being filmed.

Now you really need to check out “Stargazer Trilogy” with 3 songs written by that handsome guy, Austin, the lead singer here. He wrote them for his lovely lady (now wife), Amberly, telling their story. The songs in order are: Give Me a Sign, Stargazer Lilies (her favorite flowers) & MR (you’ll understand the title when you hear it). Amberly appears in all 3 videos too. Then, follow those up with “Playing With Fire”!! Austin is a fantastic song writer, so do yourself a huge favor and check these out!

someone commented once that it was nice to see that there was no single 'lead' and Austin's reply was that none of them would want that responsibility. But I think 'no ego' except for the overall sound is what really drives it.

Home Free, Pentatonix, and Voiceplay are the Trifecta of acapella groups. I would also say that Voctave and Straight No Chaser are up there as well. Pete Hollens is also high on my list as he is the master of laying her own voice to make it seem like it's a whole group or choir singing with him, even though it's only him a lot of the time. His version of Misty Mountains with Tim Faust from Home Free is absolutely STUNNING!
Their original, "Snow Globe," written by Tim and led by him and Chance, is a must for the Christmas season. The song and the guys are gorgeous and their solos make you want to just eat them up.

I've always loved the late Percy Sledge's original & I think he'd have approved of HFs rendition. The writer of the song had had a bad break-up and wrote "I gave you everything I had". Austin's (now) wife was in the studio and he sings "I'll give you everything I've got". A subtle but significant change. A vocal coach reactor clocked the end at 2 octaves above the tenor staff.

Home Free was on world tour (Europe) at the time of "shut down" just barely making it back home! They definitely succeeded in keeping us entertained through "what some exercised" (I'm not part of that group btw!)... Everything they put out was spectacular!!! Till next... Be Safe
If you want another Christmas song by them, I recommend "Angels we have heard on high". The harmonies and arrangement are out of this world. I could never pick a favorite out of them. It kind of goes by the song. Both Tim (their bass), and Austin, (the high tenor you just enjoyed), have solo work that you can listen to. They are all just really great singers and really good people. You will be hard pressed to find people that say anything bad about them, because what you see is what you get. They are so real and generous and funny that I have loved all of them since I started listening to them about 7-8 years ago.
They are all amazing, but Tim's vocal range is unreal.

It' impossible to have a favorite, but I find myself on Team Chance quite often because I think he's underappreciated by many. Some Girls Do, I Can't Outrun You, Cover Me Up, Helplessly Hoping, off the top of my head for songs that feature Adam Chance. You've already seen him shine in Brothers in Arms, I believe. Love your reactions. I have some other (non acappella) artists to recommend at some point. But for now I'm enjoying your HF journey.

It’s fun to watch reactors for “the smile”. It’s pretty universal and usually comes fairly quickly. It’s hard not to recognize the immense talent within Home Free. They are among the elite in the acapella world! Keep it up! Merry Christmas!

I respect Percy Sledge's version as the original/classic; but Michael Bolton's is the version I've had on my playlist for decades.
However--Home Free's version? Austin's high notes are every bit as amazing as the others. And ALL completely acapella?!? With their harmonies and Adam's vocal percussion too?!? No solo act is ever going to best their version as far as I'm concerned. Theirs is now what plays on my regular playlist. In my opinion, Home Free OWNS this song for me now❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
Home Free has been such a great gift to all of us--especially their extra efforts in providing us with excellent music/videos throughout quarantine and the difficult days of isolation we all dealt with during the pandemic. Their creativity in producing the "quarantine" videos--and their commitment to continuing to provide new entertainment throughout (even though they weren't even in the same state!)--has brought along many HF converts. I'll underscore your observation about the "quarantine videos!" The world had come to an abrupt halt, and we were scared and depressed. HF had to bail on a European tour and race home ahead of the lockdown orders. After they regrouped, we were all blessed with a series of electronically "stitched" home-recorded videos that were musically brilliant and hopeful. HF's sense of humor helped pull all of us through that terrible period.

"Mary Did You Know" is one of my favorite Christmas songs from Home Free. Pentatonix also does a cover of it that's completely different, so you'll probably want to listen to both versions.
Although I like both the PTX and HF versions, my favorite is by Voctave -- mainly because the song's writer (Mark Lowry) is the guest soloist. Also, this version has 5 powerful female voices in the mix. It's VERY impressive: ua-cam.com/video/uaRpeMT1tjQ/v-deo.html

Austin did a fabulous job of this classic song. Loved Percy Sledge's version, but this was taken to another level. I think it is also better than Michael Bolton's version. And remember this was done during quarantine, so the guys weren't even together. The backing harmonies are great, along with Tim's bass. And Adam's vocal percussion is outstanding. Drummers have often commented on just how realistic his sound is. This is why these guys are my favorite a cappella group.

Everything about you works in perfect harmony. Even the music of your laughter is a symphony. HF are famous for their gospel music like How Great Thou Art and Amazing Grace, if you like that music, or even you’re not religious, you’ll appreciate the musicality. They also cover a Vince Gill song Go Rest High on That Mountain, which is also in the religious vein. These songs are very emotional, and are really moving. Speaking of moving, looks like you were really enjoying Austin. ❤

Loved your reaction! That smile throughout the song said it all! I do believe Percy would not be mad about Home Free’s cover at all! Austin really gave his all with this one! I don’t really have a favorite Home Free member. Each member brings their own unique gift to the group that makes this group so special, in my opinion. I don’t really have a real favorite Christmas song. I’ve said in the past certain songs I really like more than others. There are certain songs I hear bring back happy childhood memories. Glad you’re going to keep going with just Hime Free for a bit longer to get to know their voices and really get a feel for who they are. During the pandemic, they kept us entertained regularly through with innovative and very creative videos from their own homes. Their producer, Darren Rust (the official 6th member of the group) sent them all the equipment to record and remotely manage editing and so forth from his studio. They’re in 3 different states (Minnesota, California, and Tennessee). Would love to see you react to some of those. I agree that Voice Play and Pentatonix are worth checking out! Both of those groups also gained fans from being on the Sing Off. Voice Play was on the same season as Home Free.

Yes 100%. The banter and humor in the live shows adds another dimension to their personalities, and Tims humor and quick wit and way with words (Chris's farewell speech, anyone) adds a great deal to his attractiveness.

Loved your expressions as Austin came in on the opening and throughout the song. Those sultry looks he kept giving the camera really get to people. I knew you were going to love this when you said that it was going to be your next reaction. For their Christmas songs they have several to choose from, some traditional and others funny. My personal favorite is Do You Hear What I hear. On the more humorous side Full of Cheer is a Tim Faust original, but I would suggest you watch Champagne Tastes On A Beer Budget first. Full Of Cheer was written as a sequel to that original by Tim. Both are tongue in cheek and hilarious. What ever you do next will be just as amazing. You just can't go wrong with Home Free. I am anxious for you to check out some of their original music.

Also, I don't necessarily have a favorite, but TIM IS THE LORD THY FOUST AND THOU SHALT HAVE NO OTHER TIMS BEFORE HIM.
Tim's OK, though I prefer his upper range (he doesn't have the sweet bass of eg Avi) but Austin has one of the best tenor voices in the world today in any genre, as well as a very appealing personality.

You need to react to Crazy, originally by Patsy Cline. I never thought I would hear a cover as good as the original. Even though Patsy’s voice was so unique, Austin did an amazing job with the song and the harmonies from the group were so good. I went down the rabbit hole with this group several months ago and can’t seem to find my way out.

We always wait for that moment when Austin comes in to watch reactors' faces. The guys lull you into believing it is going to be soft and BOOM. This stands with Percy's original and is vastly superior to Bolton's attempt. Austin doesn't often get a chance to belt it out in the group so this is double fun.
Each member is vital to the over all sound. And it continues to boggle my mind that it didn't get corrupted when Chris left and Chance came in. Also for more acapella, an older band/group that were introducted way way before PTX and the other newer groups is STRAIT NO CHASER. They are a group of 9 guys (currently) 10 previously. They have a few official music videos, but mostly you will find a variety of live stage performances filmed by audience members with their cell phones, which are not always the best, unfortunately. I hope you will think about it, if you are interested to branch out to other acapella talent drop me a yes or no. I will locate the best ones, with the best sound or videos I could find. One that comes around the holidays is their performance of the "12 days of Christmas" on stage live that is hysterically funny. I will have to hunt for the best one for a link and pass it on to you, if you are interested. Thanks for reaction to Home Free.
