I used to like Tim when I first found them because I love bass and his bass is amazing, but Chance's voice is smooth and sexy and Austin's got those incredible high notes and can belt them clearly, and Rob has some soul in him his runs are incredible and of course, the beatboxer Adam is wow at what he can do also so now my favorite varies from one to the other, but all of them together? Perfection!
Oh Dang.... that is sooooo true!! have seen several of my fav female reactors and this song has been such a powerful impact on all of them...why are we surprised.....LOL
His girl Amberly was just out of camera view, so he was basically singing to her...thats where you get the emotion from. There isn't a bad song in the bunch.
Amberly is now Mrs. Austin Brown. By the way, Austin's performance that weekend ruined things for the rest of the male population. HF released this video, then he released a cover of "Unchained Melody" and an original ballad called "Take the Night Off" (complete with steamy video co-starring Amberly). How do flowers and chocolates compete with THAT?!
5 of the Purdy-est Men that ever graced the stage. Not 1 diva/inflated ego among them. Just pure brotherhood supporting one another every time. I can not choose 1 favorite. Depending on what I needed to hear on a given day that's who I'll gravitate to.
Ghostly ? No way - you look fabulous ! And your reaction was great - I got a kick out of watching you discover this most excellent rendition of this classic. This one is in competition for their best work , along with 'Brothers in Arms', 'In the Blood', 'End of the Road' and 'Helplessly Hoping'.
You NEED to check out "Playing with Fire" , it's an Austin original and make sure to watch it all the way to the end. Don't leave children unsupervised with fire...lol
Ohhhh goodness Red! spot on Percy S. would have def. approved of this passionate delivery of his best song!!! between your beautiful smiles and blushes this was such wonderful, authentic reaction of pure joy in musical artistry on display here.... Awesome RedHeadedGirl!!!!
Christmas: Home Free's 'Mary Did You Know' is beautiful and moving while their 'Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer' (in which they invade their producer Darren Rust's house) is hilarious. Pick a mood--can't go wrong with these guys! Thanks for another great reaction.
Red already reacted to "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer" here: ua-cam.com/video/nSppFCGU388/v-deo.html and she was laughing so hard that she actually was rolling on the floor! You'll LOVE this reaction. 🙂
I've always loved the late Percy Sledge's original & I think he'd have approved of HFs rendition. The writer of the song had had a bad break-up and wrote "I gave you everything I had". Austin's (now) wife was in the studio and he sings "I'll give you everything I've got". A subtle but significant change. A vocal coach reactor clocked the end at 2 octaves above the tenor staff.
I would like to add Voctave to your list of acapella singing groups to listen to... starting with Mary Did You Know - which they sing with the gentleman who wrote the song, Mark Lowry. Makes me cry it is so beautifully sung! As for a favorite Home Free song ... I just can't decide! Try Amazed. I think that the video is a really sweet accompaniment to the always incredible vocals!
Watching you when you do your watching these songs makes me want to watch more of you. Your a very beautiful woman and when you smile it make me wish I was younger. Thank you for all that you do about what your doing.
thats what specail abount this group, each one is so talented . They can choose the right voice for the right song or verse. they also dont have any ego problems.with is really rare in this day and age. Keep up with your reactions.
someone commented once that it was nice to see that there was no single 'lead' and Austin's reply was that none of them would want that responsibility. But I think 'no ego' except for the overall sound is what really drives it.
Austin's fiancé Amberly was sitting in the studio with him. He was basically singing to her. You know Percy Sledge is smiling in heaven saying, "Damn, this boy can SANG and he's doing my song Justice. Go ahead on young man".
As for favorite members, I believe most of us seasoned Home Fries who have followed them since their Sing Off days ten years ago have realized each one of them are so individually and uniquely talented in their own right that missing anyone of them would not make them as fantastically great as one of the finest vocal groups on the planet. So the answer is all of them are favorites, with the caveat that the current group make up with Chance seems to have greater versatility than the previous group with Chris, imho. Love your honest HF reactions.
Hats off to Chris, he poured his heart and soul into Home Free to make it great, then discovered who could take the group to the next level. Thanks Chris
You need to listen to Tim Foust singing Will you still love me tomorrow and then listen to Austin Brown singing My Maria featuring Tim Foust. You will enjoy them both.
Home Free was on world tour (Europe) at the time of "shut down" just barely making it back home! They definitely succeeded in keeping us entertained through "what some exercised" (I'm not part of that group btw!)... Everything they put out was spectacular!!! Till next... Be Safe
You didn’t say if it was a panty dropper 😂😂😂😂. Lmbo to me # HOMEFREE is the best out there and I’ve heard them all. You just can’t beat the harmony in this group. There voices just blend beautifully. I have a favorite 🤩. It’s whoever is singing 🎶 at the time. lol. 😂 😂😅😅. I’m also your neighbor or close anyway Louisiana girl here. I appreciate your reaction to this group. Thanks
It' impossible to have a favorite, but I find myself on Team Chance quite often because I think he's underappreciated by many. Some Girls Do, I Can't Outrun You, Cover Me Up, Helplessly Hoping, off the top of my head for songs that feature Adam Chance. You've already seen him shine in Brothers in Arms, I believe. Love your reactions. I have some other (non acappella) artists to recommend at some point. But for now I'm enjoying your HF journey.
Have you noticed that the backgrounds are just plain simple in all of their videos. All vocals are just amazing from each member. The amazing things is when you see them in person they sound this good. Oh and this was done with each member at their homes across the country.
Austin can definitely play to the camera. Luckily he brought Amberly right next to the camera and was singing right to her. (Now his wife). Tim worked for a long time to convince Austin to sing this and I am glad he did. To see the sigificant others of our guys, check out Spaceship, Between A Rock And A Heartache, Some Girls Do, and Die A Happy Man. White Christmas and Friends In Low Places will show glimpses of Adam Rupp's Ericha who is very camera shy.
Sunday Best has some family...and you see Adam's adorable daughter (Adam is an adorable dad). I think that Ericha was having their son when it was being filmed.
"Mary Did You Know" is one of my favorite Christmas songs from Home Free. Pentatonix also does a cover of it that's completely different, so you'll probably want to listen to both versions.
Although I like both the PTX and HF versions, my favorite is by Voctave -- mainly because the song's writer (Mark Lowry) is the guest soloist. Also, this version has 5 powerful female voices in the mix. It's VERY impressive: ua-cam.com/video/uaRpeMT1tjQ/v-deo.html
Loved seeing your face on this one, definitely one of my favorite songs Home Free does! If you ask me also this is one that Adam Rupp absolutely shows his drumming talents! So many different parts of a drum kit!Great reaction, looking forward to more discoveries because they approach every song with their stamp on it! A friend, low bass Kenneth
Thank you for your lovely reaction to this sublime Home Free version. It is difficult to have a favorite when there are so many good performances to choose from. But I would recommend American Pie, where each member of the group has their part.
Home Free, Pentatonix, and Voiceplay are the Trifecta of acapella groups. I would also say that Voctave and Straight No Chaser are up there as well. Pete Hollens is also high on my list as he is the master of laying her own voice to make it seem like it's a whole group or choir singing with him, even though it's only him a lot of the time. His version of Misty Mountains with Tim Faust from Home Free is absolutely STUNNING!
Yes, please react to the Home Free-Go Rest High on That Mountain from the Church Sessions. It’s on Country Rebels channel. A live recording, and so beautiful!!
Have watched several of your video's, can't recall another when you have that big of a smile, and not being able to sit still doesn't go unnoticed...lol
Loved your expressions as Austin came in on the opening and throughout the song. Those sultry looks he kept giving the camera really get to people. I knew you were going to love this when you said that it was going to be your next reaction. For their Christmas songs they have several to choose from, some traditional and others funny. My personal favorite is Do You Hear What I hear. On the more humorous side Full of Cheer is a Tim Faust original, but I would suggest you watch Champagne Tastes On A Beer Budget first. Full Of Cheer was written as a sequel to that original by Tim. Both are tongue in cheek and hilarious. What ever you do next will be just as amazing. You just can't go wrong with Home Free. I am anxious for you to check out some of their original music.
Going to their concert in French Lick tomorrow. If I absolutely had to pick a favorite Home Free song, then I would probably pick End of the Road. There is another 10 or 12 songs just as good. They just don't have any bad songs...
Now you really need to check out “Stargazer Trilogy” with 3 songs written by that handsome guy, Austin, the lead singer here. He wrote them for his lovely lady (now wife), Amberly, telling their story. The songs in order are: Give Me a Sign, Stargazer Lilies (her favorite flowers) & MR (you’ll understand the title when you hear it). Amberly appears in all 3 videos too. Then, follow those up with “Playing With Fire”!! Austin is a fantastic song writer, so do yourself a huge favor and check these out!
Loved your reaction! That smile throughout the song said it all! I do believe Percy would not be mad about Home Free’s cover at all! Austin really gave his all with this one! I don’t really have a favorite Home Free member. Each member brings their own unique gift to the group that makes this group so special, in my opinion. I don’t really have a real favorite Christmas song. I’ve said in the past certain songs I really like more than others. There are certain songs I hear bring back happy childhood memories. Glad you’re going to keep going with just Hime Free for a bit longer to get to know their voices and really get a feel for who they are. During the pandemic, they kept us entertained regularly through with innovative and very creative videos from their own homes. Their producer, Darren Rust (the official 6th member of the group) sent them all the equipment to record and remotely manage editing and so forth from his studio. They’re in 3 different states (Minnesota, California, and Tennessee). Would love to see you react to some of those. I agree that Voice Play and Pentatonix are worth checking out! Both of those groups also gained fans from being on the Sing Off. Voice Play was on the same season as Home Free.
They kept us going through lockdown, releasing a song every two weeks. They released a best of album called The Sounds of Lockdown - my favourite is Meet In The Middle, but their collaboration with Peter Hollens on "Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" or their Sea Shanty Medley come really close. As it is the season, you may want to look up "Do You Hear What I Hear" and "Mary, Did You Know?"
Their original, "Snow Globe," written by Tim and led by him and Chance, is a must for the Christmas season. The song and the guys are gorgeous and their solos make you want to just eat them up.
Austin did a fabulous job of this classic song. Loved Percy Sledge's version, but this was taken to another level. I think it is also better than Michael Bolton's version. And remember this was done during quarantine, so the guys weren't even together. The backing harmonies are great, along with Tim's bass. And Adam's vocal percussion is outstanding. Drummers have often commented on just how realistic his sound is. This is why these guys are my favorite a cappella group.
It’s fun to watch reactors for “the smile”. It’s pretty universal and usually comes fairly quickly. It’s hard not to recognize the immense talent within Home Free. They are among the elite in the acapella world! Keep it up! Merry Christmas!
If you want another Christmas song by them, I recommend "Angels we have heard on high". The harmonies and arrangement are out of this world. I could never pick a favorite out of them. It kind of goes by the song. Both Tim (their bass), and Austin, (the high tenor you just enjoyed), have solo work that you can listen to. They are all just really great singers and really good people. You will be hard pressed to find people that say anything bad about them, because what you see is what you get. They are so real and generous and funny that I have loved all of them since I started listening to them about 7-8 years ago.
Austin was singing this to his girlfriend, who was just off camera. They're now married. BTW, Home Free, Pentatonix, and Voice Play are the holy trinity of a capella.
Im a huge fan of Home Free, but If you're getting into vocal bands, I suggest that you listen to Voiceplay too... they're known as the Theatre Kids of acapella, and they are awesome! And they're also good friends with Home Free. .. As its the right kind of time (between Xmas and Halloween), I'd suggest their version of Oogie Boogie Song from The Nightmare Before Christmas. .. and brace yourself! 😊
Yes 100%. The banter and humor in the live shows adds another dimension to their personalities, and Tims humor and quick wit and way with words (Chris's farewell speech, anyone) adds a great deal to his attractiveness.
Wow! Can’t Austin soon!! He’s mastered looking into the camera as these things… Makes you feel like he’s singing to you!! You need to go back to the episodes of The Sing Off” competition they won in 2013, they saying oh pretty woman is one of their songs… Awesome comes forward on the stage and sings directly to Jules who is one of the judges! He’s definitely got that week and that smile to go along with the great harmony!I’m glad you reacted to this one! Austin also sings unchain melody by himself… It’s fantastic too!Are you up to giving them nine or 10 thumbs up? Lol Your reaction is written all over your face… In a wonderful way! 💕
It’s a good one. Austin and Adam killed it. This was during Covid so I thought the use of tvs was clever. The boys kept us sane with lots of music during Covid (that’s when I discovered them). Good one Red! 🥰😄
If you want another Home Free Christmas song react to Mary Did You Know. Picking a favorite is very hard, they are all amazing! And as a group they are even more than the sum of the parts, which is saying a lot. I prefer to enjoy the totality of their works rather than focus on identifying a favorite.
Loved your reaction to this! Home Free has so many good songs! You should also listen to Austin Brown singing Bring Him Home from Les Misérables (have tissues), and Rob and Austin singing Nessun Dorma. Then there is Tim and Austin singing My Maria on Austin's back deck, and Tim singing Why Do Fools Fall In Love (with cute puppies!) and singing all the parts from bass to high tenor. The man has a 5 octave range! They are all individually terrific voices and together they are incredible!
I understand completely. I have never really enjoyed a cappella before finding Home Free. This group/band seems to be able to do it all... +10 for Home Free.... It's an added bonus that Austin Brown's home town is only about 35 miles from me 😁
As an old duffer I've been listening to this song since Percy put it out back in 1966 and trust me it was a big deal back then. Since I've had a playlist on computer Percy's version has been on my "A" list of all time great songs. Now I have to put Home Free's right up there too, they have nothing to be ashamed of and I'm sure Percy would approve. A bit different of an experience with the A Capella background, better? Just different I love them both. I've watched most commenters look at this and Austin pretty much Mesmerized most of the ladies and a fair share of the guys were just blown away too. Even those who were familiar with Percy's original version were not prepared for this. That nice harmony intro and then Austin just Belts out that first line it's overwhelming to be socked it the ears like that and then it just goes on and on. These guys are the real deal. A product of COVID as you say. It forced them into this format and it worked so well.
From one neighbor to another - Great reaction! I am glad you found Home Free - incredible group! When you are ready for another rabbit hole - look into Voice Play - newly out is Jinglebell Rock.. but beware - there are lots of things out there for them as well! for a Christmas song from HF? Mary Did You Know. Enjoy!
You just won't find a bad Home Free song/video!! I respect Percy Sledge's version as the original/classic; but Michael Bolton's is the version I've had on my playlist for decades. However--Home Free's version? Austin's high notes are every bit as amazing as the others. And ALL completely acapella?!? With their harmonies and Adam's vocal percussion too?!? No solo act is ever going to best their version as far as I'm concerned. Theirs is now what plays on my regular playlist. In my opinion, Home Free OWNS this song for me now❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️ Home Free has been such a great gift to all of us--especially their extra efforts in providing us with excellent music/videos throughout quarantine and the difficult days of isolation we all dealt with during the pandemic. Their creativity in producing the "quarantine" videos--and their commitment to continuing to provide new entertainment throughout (even though they weren't even in the same state!)--has brought along many HF converts. Got to ❤️❤️❤️ Home Free!! #HomeFree
I'll underscore your observation about the "quarantine videos!" The world had come to an abrupt halt, and we were scared and depressed. HF had to bail on a European tour and race home ahead of the lockdown orders. After they regrouped, we were all blessed with a series of electronically "stitched" home-recorded videos that were musically brilliant and hopeful. HF's sense of humor helped pull all of us through that terrible period.
Perfection!
There is a vedio of Tim blowing out a speaker
I believe Tim called this song a baby-maker. 😂
The only thing more enjoyable than hearing their version of this song is watching female reactors' reactions to it! 😄
Lol

I can't believe he made that key change . Excellent !

Don't forget Save the World.
Your smile says it all !
Love it !
👍👍👍💕🇸🇪😎
Love These Guys ❤
I am looking forward to exploring these songs and new artists
They kept us going through lockdown, releasing a song every two weeks. They released a best of album called The Sounds of Lockdown - my favourite is Meet In The Middle, but their collaboration with Peter Hollens on "Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" or their Sea Shanty Medley come really close. As it is the season, you may want to look up "Do You Hear What I Hear" and "Mary, Did You Know?"
You should definitely react to their cover of Unchained Melody!!
Their original, "Snow Globe," written by Tim and led by him and Chance, is a must for the Christmas season. The song and the guys are gorgeous and their solos make you want to just eat them up.
What Christmas means to me! NOW....!!!! Pretty woman
If you want to see how good Tim is by his self, try " Will You still Love Me Tomorrow / Stay. He does everything his self and see his High notes.
Im a truck driver and I have a channel dedicated to Home Free they sound amazing in the cab sometimes i forget they are voice only
Same! I forget
Love your reactions of Home Free keep-’em coming 😊
It’s fun to watch reactors for “the smile”. It’s pretty universal and usually comes fairly quickly. It’s hard not to recognize the immense talent within Home Free. They are among the elite in the acapella world! Keep it up! Merry Christmas!
Couldn't agree more!
For a holiday song try What Child is this and again you won't be disappointed...love your eyes and smile 👀😀😘
Thank you.💕
If you want another Christmas song by them, I recommend "Angels we have heard on high".
You just look so precious when you light up!
Austin was singing this to his girlfriend, who was just off camera. They're now married.
BTW, Home Free, Pentatonix, and Voice Play are the holy trinity of a capella.
Great reaction RHN! You can't go wrong with any song in their catalog. Welcome as a new Home Fry!
I love each of these guys, but Tim....the snark is undeniably attractive. 😂 Yes, they are a band - vocal band. Thanks Red - fun reaction as always. 🍟
Yes 100%. The banter and humor in the live shows adds another dimension to their personalities, and Tims humor and quick wit and way with words (Chris's farewell speech, anyone) adds a great deal to his attractiveness.
@@princessButtercupp 💯
That look and song is what romance novels are written about.
Lol
Your reaction is written all over your face… In a wonderful way! 💕
It’s a good one. Austin and Adam killed it. This was during Covid so I thought the use of tvs was clever. The boys kept us sane with lots of music during Covid (that’s when I discovered them). Good one Red! 🥰😄
Thank you!
Good Day Sunshine...
💕😊
If you want to hear how much range each guy has, check out their cover of Cam's "Mayday"................you're welcome 😉
I will! I need more
Great performance
I'll be 75 in February so I remember it well
Love this!
I understand completely. I have never really enjoyed a cappella before finding Home Free. This group/band seems to be able to do it all... +10 for Home Free.... It's an added bonus that Austin Brown's home town is only about 35 miles from me 😁
I've danced miles to this song. Jukebox, C-9 at the rodeo complex in the town where I went to high school.
For the fun side of Home Free you should check out the "Butts Remix" and "Hillbilly Bone", these guys can pretty much do anything.
Percy would be proud, I think. Peace, Love!!
Percy set the bar! These guys definitely showed up and met the qualifications!
oh you definitely will love voiceplay. home free did a song called snow globe. i think you will enjoy that one
!Wow!
Try: Cover me up, Can't stop this feeling, The Driver, Traveling Soldier, Catch me if you can - you won't be disappointed !!!
I can’t even imagine being disappointed!
Enjoy!
Very soon!
In my opinion, Home Free OWNS this song for me now❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
Home Free has been such a great gift to all of us--especially their extra efforts in providing us with excellent music/videos throughout quarantine and the difficult days of isolation we all dealt with during the pandemic.
