Thank you so much Jennifer! I appreciate your reaction! I love your explanations and you have an Amazing voice!
I Love Austin's voice, it's so beautiful and I love the connection he has with the music and the listener. He feels the lyrics within himself so genuinely and pour's out his soul, then lay's it directly in front of us delivering it straight into our heart! He fills me with
emotion every single time he preforms. I'm not sure if you know but Austin was born and raised in South Georgia and the little bit of twang is because of his natural southern accent. When he was in classical theater he worked really hard on losing his accent. However when he joined Home Free the management told him it would be fine to use his accent since they were predominantly a country group. So he fell back into it. Listen to his regular talking voice! He is very country and dial's it down pretty well when he need's to but because he talks with it all the time it probably requires much more work to lose and control it. I'm also from South Georgia and was born and raised just a few minutes from Austin's hometown (I still live in S.Ga ) so yeah, the twang is VERY heavy here. I love hearing him talk!
Do you know what would be wonderful? An Austin and Jennifer collaboration!
Austin has just dropped another release on Thursday I think it was. May I please request your reaction to it? It's entitled -
" I'M NOT SUPPOSED TO LOVE YOU ANYMORE "
Also please react to our favorite
Basso Profundo Tim Foust! You just might be surprised with those two! I can't hardly wait to see your face when you hear them!
    " WILL YOU STILL LOVE ME TOMORROW/STAY " &
" COME GO WITH ME "
    Have a great weekend!❤️🍟

In fact the deciding factor in asking Austin to join them, according to Rob Lunquist, was his enthusiasm. They'd had a few crew changes and needed someone who really wanted to do it. In fact he turned out to be far more! When he joined HF, he'd had enough of cruise ships and was about to hit New York to get into theatre.
I'm sure you agree that it would be a sad day if Austin left HF, but this and other pieces should be a calling card to a bigger future.

Love Home Free and Austin is such so darn talented how he can sing full-on country twang (which he has of course) and then the training it took for him to sing without it. His "wailing" in their songs, just all of it's wonderful. For another take on his great emotional singing watch Tears in Heaven. Wow! Take care.

Beautiful rendition of a beautiful song. Right up there with Tim Akkerman's and Devon Townsend's versions. Austin has a more polished, smoother voice than Tim, but it's the emotion Tim puts into his performance which seals the deal for me. Akkeman's version is in Dutch (I think), from Beste Zangers, but it is still as powerful as any I've yet heard.

Jennifer, I found your analysis enlightening and spot on. It is clear that Austin has taken the time to craft nearly every note into a performance unto itself. Each attack, sustain, and release have clearly been carefully considered and masterfully executed. For me, this results in a profoundly moving experience. Like many people, I like to sing along with Austin when I am listening alone in the privacy of my home. I do this despite having neither the vocal cords or the training to faithfully mimic him. The thing that causes me to stumble more than anything else, however, is the overwhelming emotions this song and performance inspire. It quite simply guts me. I have listened to several other performances of this song by other performers. I found them well done and enjoyable. None of them, however, strike me to the core like Austin's performance. Austin makes it clear, this is a man baring his soul to God in a desperate plea to save the life of another. It is amazing to me that Austin sings the same words and sings, more or less, the same notes as others, yet his performance is so very different. Austin comments after the performance that they had been working on this song a long time. IMO, it was time very well spent.

Thank you! Loved your analysis. Austin emotes so much emotion through his voice that I couldn't listen to this in its entirety to begin with. It just moved me so much into my own emotions, Austin and Home Free has that quality, that it was unbearable.
One reactor said he felt as if he actually was in the middle of the story, for the very reason.
Austin does extensive breath work, outside of his normal voice practice, every morning, and he also meditates at least once, but often twice, a day. He works on the connection with his breath, voice as well as heart and soul with dedication daily. It shows, it's felt, and it's very much appreciated.
Oh, and I saw someone mentioning interviewing Austin. If that's something you want to look into just reach out to him through his website and they'll fill you in on the possibility. He loves talking and he's super easy and fun to talk to.

He's a late bloomer to musical theater but worked assiduously for a year to learn both piano & singing after accepting Lin-Manuel's invitation to play Jonathan Larson. I think he's a good, not a great, singer but as a performer he's accomplished & works hard at it.

I've listened to several singers singing this song and I love Austin's version the best. I think it has something to do with pace, pauses, etc. He seems to be taking his time and his reverence for the song shines through, not just hurrying through it waiting for the standing ovation. Also the casual setting with just the pianist and Austin dressed up a bit gives the performance a recital sort of feel. And his gestures give the song a prayerful tone. I feel he means what he's singing, every beautiful word.

Hi Jen, I am one of your subs and one of your big fans. I think it is time you do "May Day " and also "Unforgettable Day" at Gakku by Dimash. May Day is a really good song and was written by a female artist who calls herself "CAM". She is an American artist, but I think she is mostly a writer, I may be wrong . I personally had never heard of her ? I have seen suggestions by some of the Home Free fans to do something like avoid listening to May Day until you hear their other songs ? I would like to try to not sound harsh, but personally I find that suggestion trite and very juvenile. There is truly no reason or rationale to suggest this unless you have a grade school mentally. I think the baritone in Home Fee sings the bass line and that is suppose to be some big deal or something. It is just dumb ? I have seen that suggestion on other reaction video channels and feel it is just really foolish and childish . I still have popcorn in my cabinet waiting for the Dimash ," Unforgettable Day" . When that comes up , (I am serious), I am going to pop the popcorn and watch. That is one I am trying to figure out how you will comment. It will be interesting for both of us. lol Thanks Jen we love you. With love from Florida. May Day ua-cam.com/video/znoV5gND9g0/v-deo.html

I believe Home Free plucked Austin off a cruise ship musical theater group.

The last Lyric Line is (unlike the rest of the song) " BRING HIM UP* " ..... not home ! Calling upon the Lord to call Him Up - the Lad in this saga .... that being his rescue if needed. The Aria is from "Le Miz" and just a great melody and performance herein.

Let me just ask a dumb question. Why do I get chills from the reaction instead of the song? I know I have this wrong but it’s because something is getting in the way. I think it’s called passion. It’s coming through quite clearly ❤️‍🔥

I love Austin Brown and Home Free!!!! And yet, people disparage country music performers. He was trained in musical theatre/ Thx for your reaction.

If you have never heard Austin sing "At Last" in the same key as Etta James you are missing something. His voice is so pure and lovely. Give it a listen.

Beautiful cover and interesting analasys, but I missed the comparison with other singers using falsetto in some parts of the song.

I've debated for weeks now as to writing this, because plain words are oft misinterpreted without the in-person ability to show emotion and intent. However, in our current world of anger, fear, confusion and anxiety, why not attempt a few words that could perhaps make someone smile and feel good?
With that intro, I'd like to tell you how much I enjoy your videos, both reaction and performance. Of all the reactors on UA-cam, there's just something special about yours. I'm a 58-yr-old pastor from Alabama with 4 (that's right... FOUR) daughters, aged 31 down to 18. I love Jesus, the Bible and music.
All that to hopefully remove the potential "sketchy" factor from what I'm about to tell you: I believe you to be an absolutely beautiful and talented young lady; your joyful spirit flows perfectly from your videos, showing us all your love for music, talent and performance. And your knowledge of vocal ability is second to none, providing your audience with both entertainment and instruction.
I pray you receive this compliment with the heart of its intention... to simply put a smile on your face and say thanks for bringing a little joy into an ever-darkening world. May God bless you and your family, as well as your channel.
