Please post more bento prep videos, how to store (fridge/freezer), and how to pack, what side dishes can be made in advanced, etc. I love making bento. It’s hard to find bento prep in English. Thank you so much for sharing.

These Bento boxes and recipes are also great for making bentos for disabled people to have a grab and eat meal that has a good variety for taste, interest, and health.
I'm disabled. I can cook some days but many days I am not able. So by making a lot of these recipes and putting them in the freezer means I can pull parts out to make a couple of easy bentos on my better days to have in the fridge for the next couple of days lunches when I'm alone and can't cook or make food. Thank you for your help. 💟😍😋

      Hi, again!:-)
      Thanks for the comment!
I didn't expect my recipe helps disabled people. But you inspire me with your story.
We have more homemade "prepared food" recipe in our food culture.

Thank you for this! Very informative and helpful. I am collating healthy full meal recipes for my mom and I found that japanese bento recipes are great for that. I really appreciate how much thought and passion the Japanese gives into making meals. I am planning on following Japanese diet for my parents who needs low fat and low salt meals without compromising taste. Once again, Thank you very much!

That was great. With these ideas, along with the tomagoyaki and hamburg I have the makings of several nice bento. My job is awful right now, but I've discovered that having a nice little lunch to look forward to can make all the difference between going crazy or not. ( The one challenge is going to be finding the thin cut port cutlet. I don't think I've ever seen that in my grocery stores.)
    Thanks as always!

Jasper Fen if you're in the US, you might have luck finding it at Walmart! I've found thin pork there occasionally, as well as thinly sliced beef labeled as "sizzle steak" pretty regularly :)

Hi Jasper! You can try what I do. Sometimes when I cannot find, I take the boneless porkchop and put in a ziplock bag and gently smash it with the bottom of a drinking glass. you can get it very thin, and clean up is much easier with the zip lock =) itadakimasu!!

That just looks great, Ogata-san! And you are soo fast in preparing it. I cook at home, usually in the evening after I get home from work. But I don't do fancy stuff, because I don't have much time. Also, I am sooo slow! 😅 So I'm looking forward again to next week's video with the tips and tricks for preparing the bento! ☺️

Japanese Everyday Food :Kitchen Princess Bamboo thanks for saying that. Buying something is not very healthy and quite expensive here in Munich. So I try to cook sometimes at least. Sometimes I only eat bread with cheese or so. We Germans love our bread 😆 also we don't have the great コンビニ like 7/11,that you have in Japan, which are so well equipped and not too expensive.
Also I respect that you take 30 minutes time in the morning to cook bentos for your son /family! 😊👪

Hi Tabitha!! I just read your comment! What does your husband do? (I want to make bento for my husband, but he is welder, and I don't think bento will be a filling meal for him in the day..) did you already try to make this for him at lunch time? does your hubby like the bento lunch box? I think I will try to make a bento for my hubby too! He is a big eater and self-labeled 'manly-man' lol. I hope it is filling for him! Thank you to the comment. Sorry for poor English, is not my 1st language lol.

@@mangachanfan1556 Hi!! 😄 I think your english is very good! My husband works on water heaters for a living. His days vary on activity level. Some days he is running a lot of test and other days he will have to move 100 to 200lb water heaters. But I am a personal trainer for a living and study nutrition. I adjust my husbands meals according to his activities. Your husband has a very hard working job so I think the bento box would be very filling for him. You would need to pack more carbohydrates and proteins in his bento box to give him sustained energy throughout his day. I pack my husbands meals similar to the bento box, but still learning to pack it authentic. 😄 I hope this is helpful!! ❤

My daughters love tsukune meatballs. Never thought to pack that in a bento, but they seem logical to use for an easy protein. Also, never thought to add dashi to the pumpkin. Do you use the left over liquids for anything?
Thank you for the weekly planning ideas. Truly enjoying this series.

I'm so impressed by your understanding for Japanese food. I believe you have a certain knowledge for our food culture.
I add dashi powder to Kabocha for extra flavor. We need to season Bento Okazu just a little bit more than usual because we eat it room temp. The left over liquid will absorb after a while. Thank for watching! Stay in touch!!

Hello again Kitchen Princess Bamboo. I make comment in all the videos, so sorry to bother you again haha. I wish to try these bento boxes for myself first, and if its a success, make for my family. I work a 9-5 job, and ready-made homemade meals are my favorite. I have 1 question: when you make these ahead of time, do you store in the fridge overnight till next day? If so, how to reheat? Is microwave is too strong for delicate bento box to reheat? Please advise me, I want to try this soon! Thanks and love from Florida!

Bento is served at room temp. for the most of the case.
Actually, my son likes to eat warm food, same as you, he carries thurmos Bento box.
