If I use this product can I put down grass seed after the first mowing? 🤔 Thank you for your time and any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Sorry for your loss Teri. If you sprayed this on your lawn today, I’d give it 3 days or so before mowing again. Assuming your lawn is Bermuda, grass seed shouldn’t be needed to fill in bare spots. If the area is shaded, it will be difficult to grow grass there.

Hey Ron nice video but would have been great if you could actually show it in action so that first timers like me would know how to use this with hose if there is any manual or setting to restrict the quantity that should get mixed with the water when this bottle is attached to hose?
There’s not really a setting Mayank. You just connect it to your hose and turn it on. When applying, the goal is to apply evenly while minimizing overlaps. You can see an example of what I’m talking about here: ua-cam.com/video/0wxW3zXrvX8/v-deo.html
When I watch your video and see you on the pristine golf like lawn I see Tiger Woods!!! I bet you get this a lot. Kidding aside, this is the only big box weed killer that kills crab grass!!!
Absolutely will swear by the Spectracide weed stop products. One thing I don't think you mentioned is orange cap has quinclorac, which I believe will kill St. Augustine. Yellow cap doesn't have quinclorac. Same for bentgrass. Learned the latter the hard way.
I didn't mention that it's not safe for St. Aug. That's a good call Jason. To your point the quinclorac in the orange cap would lay the smackdown on the St. Aug. It would be treating it like it's crabgrass. 😂 Thanks for watching sir.
Very informative on how to manage the treatment but you didn't cover completely how to apply it. First step is stretching out your hose and flushing out the inside for possible critters. Then attach to hose end. Then turn on hose. Then turn on weed kill by first removing wedge pin that holds plastic lever in shut position, then pull lever toward you. (Note: if pin is not removed the lever will brake off and it will be harder to turn on). As the hose water goes in it mixes with the concentrate and a nice 16-20 ' spray comes out. My question is how do you know when you used it up as there may still be 1/2-1/3 liquid still inside. Is that concentrate or is it completely diluted water that only contains a slight mixture as it gets less concentrated. These questions to me are important. How do I know when the effectiveness is gone? Still a bit left inside but exactly what is inside and how does it mix?
Appreciate you watching Michael. I don't use Spectracide for weed control. Celsius and Certainty are much better options. golfcourselawn.store/collections/lawn-weed-killers
Great video!! I use Tenacity; 2,4,D; and Quinclorac in their separate high concentration formulations. Just used Battleship III on my project lawn that has a bunch of stuff I can’t even pronounce or spell, but it does have Triclopyr, is a 2,4,D free formulation, and has its own proprietary adjuvant for adhesion to the weeds when sprayed... first time using it, so I’m anxious to see the results! I forgot the PPE...🤦♂️.
Very cool Lawngineer. You're a pro though. You're probably more comfortable than most with mixing and applying herbicides than most people. Let me know how that blend works. Definitely want to wear the right PPE when handling this stuff. Thanks for watching and chiming in sir! Appreciate the support.
Hi Al. The product contains a herbicide called Quinclorac which works pretty well against crabgrass. The earlier in the season you catch the crabgrass the better. If you're looking for a product to kill young crabgrass AND prevent new growth, you'll need a pre-emergent like dithiopyr: ron-henry.com/dithiopyrliquid
Hi Raized By Nerdz. I wouldn't use this (or any herbicide) on newly seeded lawns. Let the lawn get established and take care of the weeds later. Just not worth the risk of damaging the new grass.
@@RonHenry Absolutely!! I am actually going to go and try out the recommended product today. I hoping it is as affective as I need. Regardless, the instructions given in this video gave me a good idea of how to properly apply it. Please keep up the good work!
Hi Linda. It should work well against spurge. For poa annua, you're better using a product like Image. I did a video on how to apply it here: ua-cam.com/video/It73dHfjsl4/v-deo.html
Hmm. Amazon won't deliver to TX? Might have to make pilgrimage to Home Depot or Wally World and see if they have it in stock. I'm not sure why TX is so particular about certain herbicides.
Thank you Ron for another great video. I put down Negate Sunday due to tons of POA. Some of the POA has seeds. You recommend not bagging clippings when you have put down a herbicide, but what are your thoughts in this situation? Thanks!
Heya Jeff. If you want to bag the clippings because you're afraid of blowing poa seeds all over the lawn, you can. Any seeds that go down now aren't likely to germinate until the fall so a long as you put down a fall pre-emergent, you should be ok. Great question. Thanks for watching.

If you're planning on spraying it with a tank sprayer, this is the version I'd use: amzn.to/3Qp3ywf
This is great...can you apply this now (sept. 1 ) before you do an overseed or will it stop the seed from germinating ?
You can apply this now. Won't prevent your seed from germinating. It's not pre-emergent.
Great video.
Thanks for watching pbenga. I appreciate the support.
Sorry Ron, please add weather factor to this great video. Thanks
Noted!
Always go stuff as always.
Thanks Perpetual Student. Thanks for watching.
I been watching a lot of lawn videos. And lemme tel you a lot of these busters have trash lawns. This guys talk is in the turf baby
Appreciate it Kevin!
How long do I wait till I see the effects of the weed killer working?
Hi Kevin. 7 - 10 days.
When I watch your video and see you on the pristine golf like lawn I see Tiger Woods!!! I bet you get this a lot. Kidding aside, this is the only big box weed killer that kills crab grass!!!
Thanks Thomas. I do get the Tiger Woods comment a lot. I don't really see the resemblance though. Glad you're getting good results with Spectracide.
Good stuff Ron. Thanks
Thanks so much Leon. I appreciate it.
No doubt this man is a pro presenter! He’s definitely not a gardener!
Appreciate it Anthony. I think? 😎 I’m not a gardener but I do love working on lawns.
Any protection against crabgrass?
@@RonHenry thanks Ron much appreciated!
@@alceja3522 anytime sir.
What about if I just seeded a bermuda lawn?
Hi Raized By Nerdz. I wouldn't use this (or any herbicide) on newly seeded lawns. Let the lawn get established and take care of the weeds later. Just not worth the risk of damaging the new grass.
I am loving yours vids sir
Thanks so much eliseo. Thank you for watching. Let me know if I can help with anything.
Does this product kill flowers/shrubs?
I wouldn't spray it on flowers or shrubs. It will likely damage / kill them.
Please, what's the model and brand of that lawn mower you have in this video ?
It's a Toro Greensmaster 1600 Kayzed.
Love it, keep it simple!
Anytime T Winnings. Let me know if I can help with anything else. Thanks for watching.
Can we mix this with Prodiamine in one app? The concentrate is $10 in Lowes and thinking of trying a weed killer for the first time.
I've never mixed it with prodiamine Topcat. Can't think of why it wouldn't work, I've just never done it.
DUDE!!! THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!
Anytime Omega. Glad it was helpful.
@@RonHenry Absolutely!! I am actually going to go and try out the recommended product today. I hoping it is as affective as I need. Regardless, the instructions given in this video gave me a good idea of how to properly apply it. Please keep up the good work!
Does it work on Poa and spurge?
Hi Linda. It should work well against spurge. For poa annua, you're better using a product like Image. I did a video on how to apply it here: ua-cam.com/video/It73dHfjsl4/v-deo.html
@@RonHenry thanks for the quick response Ron. Advice noted.
Hi ron, is it okey to put down granular 20-0-6 then blanket spray with this weed stop? Thanks for sharing your knowledge! God Bless.
Sure Tay Ka. Just make sure you're applying the 20-0-6 at the correct rate. Thanks for watching the content.
Can you use this on a back yard putting green
hey, would you recommend applying this after a mow?
Wait 2 days after mowing
Great content. I live in an HOA and my neighbors weeds are trying to creep under the fence into my yard. It’s so frustrating.
Heya Jack N. Once the weeds cross over, they're fair game to spray in my opinion. Sorry you're having to deal with that.
@@RonHenry is this good for spot spraying too? I have one little spot in my yard that some type of weed is trying to grow up.
@@jackn.2611 Hey Jack. Yep. It's good to use for spot spraying too. Blanket or spot spraying will work with this product. Thanks for watching.
Hey Ron, tried to order. I guess they can't deliver in TX. Any suggestions
Hmm. Amazon won't deliver to TX? Might have to make pilgrimage to Home Depot or Wally World and see if they have it in stock. I'm not sure why TX is so particular about certain herbicides.
Stuff is indeed awesome. Just try to avoid applying it on a windy day.
Definitely Brandon. Early morning or afternoon application when the wind is low is a good idea. Great point Brandon. Thanks for chiming in.
Can you use this product in excessive heat areas like Bakersfield California?
Use Celsius instead Melissa: golfcourselawn.store/products/celsius-wg-broadleaf-and-grassy-weed-control-for-warm-season-turf
