Thank for this detailed video- at the 3:14 mark trying to change photo style- I don't know why my menu doesn't highlight and allow me to switch to Nat from Std?
Thank you again, my go to for setting up my camera, which drove me absolutely mad! Still not totally happy with this Lumix, at that price I thought footage would be awesome, but there you go. Have a nice weekend Reha!
Thanks so much for this video! I couldn't figure out how to turn off the auto-focus function and it kept messing up my filming. Plus I'm going to purchase the recommended upgrades to the LX10 you suggested in the other video. Subbed. You're the best! Keep it up!
It would be churlish to criticise, but heck a few things. First thank you picture quality amazing on my iMac 27inch full screen. So sharp.Your recommendations so clear.I had to use the computer andput my camera on a minipod at slight angle to see back and top. Then it was easy to edit as you spoke. Had to pause a lot as you dont hang around. One suggestion, slow down and allow us to do the thing.Maybe a 10 minute video instead of 5 minute. SoThank you sir!! (p.s I bought that magfilter form Holland as difficult in UK). It's handy! In a World of badly focused amateur often rubbish youtuber vids, you are a Star.
I have pulled the trigger on the LX10 over the weekend. I must say coming from my familiar Canon menu system [I have a PowershotPro1 (2005), S95 (2011), 70D (2014),100D(2016)], the menu and onscreen icons and controls is a bit strange at first. I have to familiarize for a long while. This video again helped me a lot with the numerous setting crammed into this tiny camera. Thank you again.
Hi love the reviews you do on the lumix lx15, however I am stuck 🙃 the video filming I have tried everything, but when filming either background hazy or background ok and I am hazy, any tips for both please not to be hazy. Love the vlogging.
Reha, thank you again for this video. I am able to follow and I know this method of filming...select aperture, set frame rate then set the corresponding shutter speed then let the ISO adjustment get the final exposure you want. My question is how about when I mount it to the gimbal and im just following my subject from behind or side to side? my results have been mixed. Sometimes everything is sharp and sometimes it's just unusable with footages showing some lens fine breathing in and out. Is it just maybe Im wrong with my AF mode selection. This is my first panasonic...I'm coming from the canon world. Thank you again.
Thanks for this. Great work on sorting the focus settings. Seems to be such a misunderstood camera, I get some fantastic photographs from it, just needs patience. The aperture ring is a great addition and the general speed of use is much quicker than the Sony RX. That’s my opinion though.
As a photo camera I can only agree. The results are extremely good. Especially the RAW files. For video however, I feel there are some downsides that Panasonic needs to fix. Thanks for your feedback!
thank you so much for the settings. I could set all for filming, but I can't change the option "Style Photo". I don't know why but it is still in grey like I can't change it and remains on "STD". Do you know how I can change the "Photo style" option?
nope, it doesn't; surprisingly the ZS200 which I also have has that AUTO ISO function in movie mode (manual where you can control it or just let it on Auto mode after selecting the aperture & framerates)
Thank you for the video bro! One question: is it possible to set up a log profile? Or the thing that you can do it’s change the manual options “contrast etc”?
Great video - I went out and invested in the LX10 as I like the bokeh and the colours of the Leica lens over the competition and as I already have the G85 so its the same menu system - it does have some short comings but so do all the competitors Sony V limited to 5 minutes of 4K overheating (lx10 is 15 minutes) and almost twice the price, Canon g7X no 4K Trying out the camera I note that the camera has different focal lengths depending what you have activated i.e. @ 1080p Min 25mm - Stabilisation off - Levelling off Min 27mm - Stabilisation ON - Levelling off Min 30mm - Stabilisation ON - Levelling ON 4K is cropped more Keep up the great videos
Thanks much and have fun with your new camera. Once you know what it can do and what not, you'll get better at managing its shortcomings. It's a very good camera.
Hi Reha! thanks for a really clear and useful video! Question: can you connect a lavalierer to this camera for clearer sound? Im under the impression its not possible...
Great video! Thanks for posting! I just have one question. I set up my LX 10 as shown on you your video. But now my picture taking is in burst mode. I selected the bottom button from the toggle. And the selected single shot. But it is still in burst mode somehow. Is there something in this setup that I can change to a have single shot?
Hi Reha, I have LUMIX LX10 camera, and all photos shots in MP4 format, how can I change it to JPG format, because I need a photos. Tomorrow I need to shoot music rock concert, please give me your advice how to set up for make a nice photos from the stage? Thanks.
This is the video I am looking for & having some concerns regarding the presence of picture profiles suitable for post on this camera. I've been on the sidelines for sometime now waiting for the canon G7x III to come out to replace my old but wonderful canon S95 from 2011. But it looks like the G7x III ain't coming soon and this LX10 seems to fit my requirements, going to do some videos on travel on a small setup. I already have the Zhiyun crane M, so im getting closer to buying this LX10. Let my 70D and 100D do the stills shooting.yeah! Thank you for your work.
Thank you for your reply. I have monitored these compacts since 2010 and have seen the iterations of the S95-S120, 5 versions of the RX100, and the late comer G7x I & II. For some reason I have avoided going the Sony RX path (costlier, no touch screen despite 5 iterations, overheat in 4K); the LX10 is budget friendlier and also I'm eyeing the Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema 4K in Sept 2018 so I will need to allocate some funds there especially I don't have any M43 lens at all, only EF-S and EF lenses. I will ponder on these.Thank you again for your work.
Thanks for this video, much appreciated! Quick question, it looks like your trying to immitate an slog type picture profile. Does your approach maximize dynamic range and if so what is your post color grading strategy?
Reha, I have enjoyed your videos since discovering your channel from the LX10 content. What is your opinion on the focal length issue of the lens when shooting in 4K? It goes from the advertised 24mm to 36mm at the wide end. For me this has ruined what is an otherwise wonderful little camera. I have been an LX fan since the LX3, but due to the nature of the shooting I do (inside airplane cockpits) this is an issue. Even in 1080p it only allows 30mm at the wide end. Thoughts?
Unfortunately not much we can do about it. I was wondering whether there are conversion filters that cold be screwed via adapter to the lens but haven found/tried anything yet.
Subscribed! Your videos about LX10 help a lot! Just one questions: do you still think that Lumix LX10 is more a 'value for money' than a Sony RX100 mark iv / v ?
+Gian Marco Salvi Thanks! It depends on how you use it. For vlogging I wouldn't be so sure. As a secondary camera for b-roll absolutely. Also you need to keep in mind the Sony costs much more. If money isnt an issue, I'd go with the Sony.
This choice is making me crazy! Right now the LX10 and the Sony RX100 IV have the same price, the sony mark v is too much for me... I really love the f 1.4, the touch screen and the user-friendly menu of the LX10 but i really like the fast AF, the super slowmo and the flat color profile of the Sony too! Right now i really changing my decision every week... I hope that Canon/Sony/Panasonic will release a new point&shoot soon to get rid of any doubt. Anyway thanks Reha, keep going, your videos are great, straight to the point and simple to understand! :)
Trying your set up for film making and have it exactly the same as you show in this video! My question is how are you adjusting your F stop on the fly? Thanks
Thank You i was so confused here! Trying to get this camera set up for doing drumming videos. With your settings when i hit my kick drum the whole shot jumps! LOL not having much luck here so far! My goal is to use this camera for filming live bands. So trying to get this camera to operate flawlessly is very challenging!
Try placing it on a sponge or something similar to absorb the vibration. Also keep distance to your drums and zoom in from a distance. Record the audio separately and sync audio and video in post.
thanks i will try these suggestions, i noticed also with your settings i can no longer change my focus point even for taking pictures. I can not get it to return to the 49 points of interest or whatever i only get a box now! Sorry for harassing you Reha! LOL ;)

Good helpful video. But you keep saying you set focus to manual, then you show it autofocus. I have yet to find a consumer camera that allows fully manual focus of video.
Hey, how is the auto focusing after doing these settings? Also how is the videoing in general with these changes? I've just ordered this camera, mostly for taking photos but will be using videos too. From what I've seen the focusing isn't all that.
Great video. But can you help me, when it comes to setting Photo Style, that option is greyed out on my LX15 and I cannot figure out why. I have the mode dial set to (video)M as per the video. What else do I need to change to enable this option?
Hey man, I did some research and tested all the af functions to see which one works best and I think this one is really reliable for Panasonic, based on latest videos the 150 degree works best with Panasonic AF. So maybe you give this settings a try, for me it works as good as my Canon 200D/SL2. FHD 25fps 1/60 Quick AF ON Continonus AF ON AF-C Square
Does this camera allow you to set auto iso when shooting in manual mode for videos? In other words, I always want my shutter speed to be 50 and I want to manually adjust aperture and I want the camera take care of iso automatically. Is there a way to do this?
Thank you so much for your quick reply. What a shame they disabled this feature, it's the single reason I won't be buying this camera. Everything else is fantastic about this. My a7sII has the auto iso feature and it's extremely useful, especially for moments that are gone in a split second. Thanks for your great videos.
Seems like you are very familiar with this camera. I am trying to do some light painting and can’t figure out how to change the shutter speed. Any chance you can help?
i think you out it in manual movie mode. Select the frame rate of the project, select your desired aperture & and determine the final exposure by adjusting the ISO....I was wondering about this too as my Drone had that simple function of locking the Exposure...and here it doesn't seem to have one. please correct me if I am wrong.

This camera behaves neurotic. -the manual setting sometimes works, most of the time it doesn't- changing the shutter speed doesn't change the exposure. -Macro zoom doesn't focus. -The settings turned itself on to the burst mode and I could not reset this with going back to a single frame; I had to reset to factory settings to get rid of the 16 !!!! frames with every release of the shutter. -The screen touch frame to set the focusing area sometimes is available, sometimes it is not. -The icons on the screen are all over, sometimes I can turn them off, sometimes not. -the picture quality worse than any camera I ever owned. Anyone owning that camera had a trouble with the sound the camera makes? It sounds like a ventilation from the inside. Only when the lens is out. Some says the noise comes from the stabilisation or autofocus, but it sounds very noisy to be just that? I just got that camera and I've had an hybrid one for years without any sound like that. I might sound dumb but I'd really like to know if it is a normal thing. x
Big thanks for getting into the detail of this camera, Reha. It helped me a lot getting into it quickly without being too much overwhelmed.
Great! Thanks for the feedback.
Thank for this detailed video- at the 3:14 mark trying to change photo style- I don't know why my menu doesn't highlight and allow me to switch to Nat from Std?
Thanks for these advices regarding the video settings. I was still figuring out which are the best for shooting more advanced ones. Thumbs up! 👍
Watched a few of your LX15 videos, and they are most excellent!
Thank you again, my go to for setting up my camera, which drove me absolutely mad! Still not totally happy with this Lumix, at that price I thought footage would be awesome, but there you go. Have a nice weekend Reha!

Crisp. Fast. Candid. Great suggestions & Insights. An eye opener to ponderables. Thanks !!!! Subbed....
