    Reha, I want to thank you for this video. I have a Panasonic LX10, I took your advice and purchased the Magfilter adapter, as a matter of fact, I purchased two of them. One for use with an ND filter and one for use with a Circular Polarizer lens filter. By having two Magfilter adapters with the filters premounted it takes less than 15 seconds to switch out filters.

    • @LDN_BOX

      which size filter did you use for the LX10?

    • @CharlesLScofieldJr
      @CharlesLScofieldJr 4 роки тому +1

      @@LDN_BOX I used a Tiffen 52mm CPL and 52mm Variable ND Filter.

      Charles L. Scofield Jr. Cheers for the response, much appreciated!
      Btw, what was your thoughts on the LX10, were you using primarily for video or photography?

    • @CharlesLScofieldJr
      @CharlesLScofieldJr 4 роки тому +2

      @@LDN_BOX It has been a great little camera, I got it primarily to shoot 4k video, but it does great for photos too. I just wish it had a greater zoom than it does. I use it whenever I am hiking over rough terrain. I got a fishing vest because it has many pockets and was made of lightweight mesh. Works well when changing out Magnafilters so you don't drop them.

      Charles L. Scofield Jr. Awesome, cheers for the tip! I bought it as I have a TZ80 with x30 zoom but wanted something for closer distances and better in lower light for street photography.
      Can you get bokeh effects whilst shooting people with it at F1.4 or slightly above?

    I installed the Magfilter and I am so disappointed with this thing. The magnets do not align straight. Maybe you didn't have that problem, but it's frustrating. I went ahead and removed it completely. The Lensmate is probably the better option for everyone. And yes, I took great pains to get it aligned right on both the camera and the adaptor. I would not recommend the Magfilter to anyone! I mostly use this camera for photos, the MF was not very secure so I would have never used it for video... (all this is just my humble opinion) I did buy the Magfilter after watching this video, that is why I am commenting here. Really a great idea, but not very functional. Have a great day. =D

    I had a mag filter polarizer for my zs100. I sold that camera and went for the LX100. It works perfectly on the LX10. No vignetting.

    Just a real shame the Lensmate isn't easily available outwith the USA. Import costs to the UK are astronomical for what it is...but I do think its a neater solution.

    I bought the LensMate kit for my newly purchased Rx100 MK7. I took a trip to Europe for 10 days, coming home yesterday. Halfway through the trip, the adapter fell off. The adhesive failed I guess. Not too happy with it. Also, trying to screw a filter on the adapter is difficult at best, especially a circular polarizer. I haven't had a chance to contact LensMate to see what they will do about it.

    Bought a MagFilter, it fell off and disappeared within a week of owning it because it’s only held up by a magnet. Will never buy again, wasted $30. Purchased a Lensmate afterwards and it’s so much more dependable. Choose Lensmate.

    Just got my LX10/LX15 three days ago and I am so glad to have found your video! Very helpful and very informative. Will definitely get the lensmate. Also, would you kindly be able to make video tips/tricks on taking great photos by using LX10/LX15? This is my first compact camera so still a beginner on this. Many thanks!

    Useful, thanks, I just swapped my G7Xii for an LX15 as I am a Panasonic shooter and I shoot everything in 4K, just watched a few of your videos which have been quite useful in setting it up, even though I am quite familiar with the LUMIX menus on my G80 and GH5. The LX should be quite useful for those evening shoots where I don't want to take the bigger cams out. Subscribed :-)

    I have the magfilter. It does the job, but It has a tendency to jump out of my hands. I guess it's bullet proof but I also was adjusting counter clock wise and it opened up dropping the glass and guts on my floor. I also dropped it by touching it by mistake and the magnet does not hold and the last thing today, the glue dried up and it just came off in my hand. I probably will try the lensmate. I think these are more like novelties that help with the amateur cameras, but it's not a professional solution. I got an SL2 for about the same price as my point and shoot (body only), bought a couple of lenses (wide 10-24mm zoom and a 50mm) and I am a lot happier. Either way, you have to be extra careful when using filters even when they screw onto the lens .

    I noticed that the magfilter does bring about a slight amount of corner shading at 24mm, but I guess it's easy to remove that in post processing.

    Would have been SO much nicer to have a built in ND filter Sony WTF. Who really wants to buy a $1200 camera and then slap crappy adhesive on it covering logos and stuff....not sure why they didn't include that in such a fancy high end point and shoot.

    Thanks for this video. What actually holds the ring to the camera? Is it glue or magnetism? If glue, how easy is it to remove the glue at a later date without damaging the camera?

    • @Lunaray100
      @Lunaray100 3 роки тому +1

      The metal ring holds to the camera using a custom cut 3M adhesive. If installed correctly, and securing mounted it will last on the camera for years. Should you want to remove it, say when sending the camera in for repair, it is easy to remove using the uninstall tool included with the Kit. Should you lose the uninstall tool you can also use a piece of dental floss. Place the camera on its back, put the dental floss around your 2 index fingers with 2 inches in the middle. Set the dental floss at 12 oclock between the camera and the metal ring, hold the camera steady with your thumbs and pull the floss towards you not up. This will release the ring. The adhesive may have left some sticky residue, just use a tiny bit of alcohol on a que-tip to remove.

      Reha Alev thanks for the quick response! May I ask how you did remove it? Did you use dental floss as suggested in other videos? I’d like to make sure a) there is a safe way to remove the filter and b) the front of the lens is not left damaged (even cosmetically) by using the filter adapter for months on. Cheers, C
