    Going to be replacing my pulley tensioner myself this weekend on my 2016 535i M SPORT. I was looking for the perfect example video on how to do it and came across this one. Thanks for this video. I will comment when I finish replacing that this weekend.

    Just a heads up when you change the tensioner you should always change the belt...if you change the belt you should always change the tensioner...they go hand in hand and your right there so do them together

      Totally forgot to mention in the video that my belt is Basically NEW. But yea I agree when you get in there might as well do it all - belt, tensioner and idler pulleys 👍

      Once you held the tensioner back with the drill bit. Would removal and installation of a new belt required any other steps or would it simply came off
      Thanks

      @@joeblack1698 yeah comes off real easy once tensioner is depressed 👍

    if you're replacing the idler pulley, the bolt head is blocked by that bracket from the Ac compressor hoses. What do you do about that?

    • @BIMMERLEAGUE
      @BIMMERLEAGUE  Місяць тому

      I don’t remember exactly. Are you able to remove to bracket to get to it ? Otherwise some sort of angled socket

    Does this BMW have dynamic drive? I’m trying to figure out if mine does. It makes a difference in the belts.

    How about the idler pulley and bolt ? Should we replace that as well. I’m seeing others selling kits. Is it just a money grab ? Or just tensioner and belt is fine ?

    Tensioner, belt everything are replaced, all bmw group parts but tensioner shaking again. What can be the problem.

    • @BIMMERLEAGUE
      @BIMMERLEAGUE  2 роки тому

      It should have a slight wiggle but if shaking too much brand new I’d look into your harmonic balancer
