Lovely engine, sounds stunning in the higher rpm’s.
Question guys, I’m getting a squealing noise just before the start/stop comes in a cuts the engine. Any ideas what it could be?
Possible starter motor, would have to physically check the car to be certain
7 year old car with a cracked engine block? Reliability at its finest.

I needed a new rad fan and new rad fan wiring loom, also had a misfire on cylinder 5 that was down to a faulty coil, only able to find out the cylinder with bm main dealer software

i think the n55 is a good engine. much more reliable then the n54. the fails (waterpump, OFHG ...) are not very expensive.

Just out of curiosity what happened to this motor? Did the previous owner have a new engine fitted and is it currently on the road? Would love to know!
The engine was replaced and the customer sold it shortly after.
as he should there fucking shit I just brought one for 5k smashed back end once its repaired I won't even start the car straight sale fuck these cars

Late reply, but do you guys know what caused this issue? Was it serviced and maintained properly? Did the owner track the car?
Yes a failed water pump caused the engine to overheat then the block cracked
Can you give me some advice, I'm getting vibration at idle in my m135i. Can feel through the gearbox, which the car is a manual. No fault codes stored at all.
I would appreciate any help, to far me to come to Derby unfortunately. My car as been to 3 different garages, none of them can fix it 😒

@@isa270991 Thanks for the reply, the vibration happens when the engine goes down to 600 rpm, at 700 rpm the vibtration is better but I can still feel slight shakes.
@@shaneevans774 is the bottom pulley damper not vibrating?

@@shaneevans774 my e60 does this. When I’m racing around and then pull up. Vibrates at idle I’m not 100% certain what it is but I just thought it was the exhaust system
What do you think of the B58 engine?

@@itsimty thanks. Had mine now for 5 yrs from new. So far no issue other than water droplets in the near-side led headlight unit, and this unit also has adaptive headlights, which I ordered as an option. If BMW doesn't help, that's going to cost me around 1k I guess.

Correction. I've not been given the price for the new headlight but my local retailer has told me it will be close to 3k. Not the 1k I first thought. 😰

Is this a common faults video or a video about this specific car, sure looks like the latter.
We have seen these faults on several cars of the same model, being a specialist garage. This is why we highlighted these faults that COULD occur.

Yes hands down the m140i is fitted with the newer B58 engine, I would go for that, very easy to Tune aswell

No they don't break all the time. ALL cars have common faults. Look after it and it will be fine.
