My 2018 luxury don't have that driver support option and most that I've seen did not have it either before I bought this one. I actually dislike auto high beam and radar cruise ctrl so I'm good though.
What's up Brooks, GBY! I personally own a 2011 GX460 [Luxury built trim package] that I purchased for $24 grand back in Sept. of 2018 from a Porsche dealership in NJ [the truck is in between good and excellent condition]... it had 35k miles on it, 1 previous owner, Starfire Pearl with the Ecru interior [just like the one in this video) with all the "bells and whistles"... except for the cooler/icebox in the center console/compartment and the tonneau cargo cover, but with the Tvs on the headrests and the RSCA button [just above the center diff. button]. The dealership had it under "GX460 Premium model"... I'm assuming they did not know it was a "Luxury trim package"... blessed me!🙌💯
Word of warning on the ecru seats...they get dirty which requires regular cleaning, then the dye come off the seats. Mine were toast in 6 months and Lexus calls it wear and tear not covered by warranty. I don r know the other colors hold up
Hey Brooks A few years ago I mentioned that I was aiming to get myself a GX of my own and requested that you do a review of it to help me figure out the features I wanted to get for mine. Fast forward to today, and I'm one year into owning my own GX. 2017 model, "Basic" trim level [for Kuwait, at least]. I didn't bother with the premium [Which is the name of the top feature package available here and, seemingly, has more features than the luxury package in this video. More on that in a moment] because the sticker price went up significantly for features I wouldn't really use. Mark Levinson speakers were one feature. LDA and blind spot monitors were another. Backseat entertainment system [with monitors set into the backs of the front seats, which I noticed were absent from the luxury trim in this video]. Liquid graphite wheels [the ones on mine are the basic plain six spoke alloy wheels], and interestingly, cabernet semi-aniline leather [which I don't see being shown on the Build your GX pages on the US Lexus site, but rather, present on the LX]. In addition, it also includes the radar cruise control and the additional cameras on the front and sides of the vehicle. Curiously, the basic trim here comes with ecru semi-aniline leather throughout, including the steering wheel [which does have the mahogany wood feature], and an almost full set of center console options. I'd have to double check my car, but from memory, the only difference between my basic and this luxury trim level is that the suspension options on mine only comes with sport and comfort [there's no middle ground], and with the DAC/Hill-Start, there is no speed option. Just an on and off option. I'd have to double check to see if that's because they're merged into one feature and is fully automated or whether it doesn't have DAC at all and is only a start assist. All trims come with the ice box feature, as well as powered third row seats. I did notice, if I'm not mistaken, that my engine bay comes with a protective cover that conceals everything except for the top of the engine block [which is still covered by the same pale grey plastic guard present in this video]. Presumably it's an extra layer of protection from the dust we have to deal with here.
The Toyota Prado? Yes, it is. In fact, it is one of the most popular SUVs in the market for people who can't afford, or can't make use of, the bigger Land Cruiser. Everyone goes for the Land Cruiser Prado instead. The reason I wanted the GX was actually because the Land Cruiser was too big a vehicle for my tastes but I wanted a higher level of luxury than the Prado provided [the version of it we get here does not come with leather seats or wooden steering wheel or many of the other nicer features that it gets in markets like Japan and Australia].
Bells and whistles is a mile away form the base. The Mark Levison sounds system w/ 17 spks, Driving/ parking assistance, supple semi aniline leather - heated/cooling enabled, BSM, wheels, air suspension, etc
Wow. How much driving did you do that day? A full tank on mine lasts a whole week, and I'm on a daily commute to work for a total of about 50 miles a day. You'd have to have been flooring it to get that kind of fuel consumption.
@@RPGTKingpin glad you said this. Cause I got a little scare when he said that.. I want this truck but I want to know how this truck treat the gas.. how much is it to full up a empty tank?

Hey Brooks. I found your channel via your friend Garrison (whose channel I also follow). I just wanted to say that I'm loving your videos and I really enjoy watching them. Nice job with this one :).
Hi I been watching your channel for a while love it btw could you explain what the internship is I’m 16 getting ready to graduate from high school and I wanna get into the car business a little more but I don’t where to really start at
Thanks for watching for a while! I'll see what I can do in terms of sharing more detail, but I can explain a little bit about my path.. The automotive field is very diverse. Everything from engineering to artists to advertisers are needed. I work in the business side of the industry. I am finishing up my degree in business administration (Specifically, marketing). The side of the business I work on works heavily with dealers in a respective area, be it allocating cars or opening new dealerships or adjusting lease prices. I find it incredibly fascinating. It all depends on what interests you most.
Yeah agreed. I'm looking at this compared to a Disco 5 or LR4. Coming from an LR3 and Disco 1. Much nicer interiors. But I also wheel these vehicles so that's a factor.
@@gasolinaquema8416 only if someone wants to keep a car for decades. I am not that kind of buyer. For me comfort, performance and driving experience are more important.
Not sure about where you live, but over here the reputation for reliability, the luxury and the brand mean that Lexus vehicles in particular tend to stay with people until a refresh comes out. My dad had the old LX 470 from 2003 all the way until the LX 570 came out. And if it wasn't for the fact his current car is still in pristine condition, he'd probably get the new LX 570 to replace it. I myself jumped from an old 1999 Toyota Prado to the 2017 GX 460. So yeah, if your market is anything like mine, I wouldn't bet on finding any used unless you get a certified used one from the dealerships themselves. Bright side, those tend to be really good, since their owners tend to be the type with too much money and too short an attention span, and either rent or purchase then sell back to the dealer every time a refresh or new model year comes out with updated features.
Hi,can some one guide me on where to get retractable cargo shades for GX460 I've been looking all over the internet and cant find the one that I need. Thanks in advance.
You meant the tonneau cargo cover [thats what Lexus calls it]? I personally looking to get one for my 2011 GX460 [my truck has the slots, square looking holes where it connects, or where it sits, you know the cargo cover, since some trucks don't come equipped or have the fitting placement for the cargo cover], e bay has a few original ones and some other non original ones [after market]... they want like $3 to 4 hundred bucks for the used ones [original]... the dealership has them for like $6 to 7 hundred bucks... so you know!
I have a 2017 gx any information on Lexus plans to restyle or update the gx460 model I’ve got no motivation to trade for a newer model because nothing has changed

2018 Lexus GX460, 2,247 miles
The driver support package on the Luxury models are actually more rare than you may think....
Thanks so much for doing this. Much better job than the salesman that basically said: Here's the car, test drive it....not much else.
