- Here's my review of the 2018 Lexus GX 460. It is almost the same vehicle it was as a 2010 model with slight updates over the years. It's a fine vehicle for comfortable transportation of 4 people. The 3rd row is perfect for people who don't need a car seat. If you do need child seats, the captain seats are great so you can avoid folding down the second row to access the third row of seats. Interior works, but the dash needs to be updated with more premium materials a la 2018 LX 570. If you're in the market, I'd recommend getting a new or used GX for comfortability, fit and finish, reliability, polished driving experience,, and off road usage.
It's nice to see a model that hasn't been changed for a few seasons, just for the sake of change...Lexus perfected an already great vehicle.
I love the new lexus grilles. I dont understand why so many hate it. Its far more interesting than past lexus grilles.
These vehicles are such high quality that I really see no reason to upgrade from GX 470. Really look forward to the next model revision.

I purchased a 18 Lexus GX 460 sports package (same model) last month for 54,000 marked down from 61,3000.
Mind you mine was a demo and had about 1,200 miles on it but never titled, all perks and warranties of new car.
The Luxury package run anywhere from 67 to 69k and include a suspension you can raise, crawl control and upgraded leather.
The vehicle overall is a big powerful SUV, body on frame. The main drawback is gas consumption. I get about 17 city, 19-20 highway. Lexus recommends premium gas but I use the mid grade.
The brakes feel spongey if that makes sense and the steering feels loose and not tight.
Anyone in the market should look for a used one with low mileage as not much has changed on them over the years.

Brilliant advice! Yes, a used low mileage for the GX is the way to go. Same if you’re in the market for a Toyota 4 Runner.
I'm soooo considering this car for my every day ride and weekend trips. But I'm soooo worried about the gas mileage. I have a highlander right now and I feel like I may regret it if I trade the highlander for this.
Just consider the comfort and extra space a fair trade off for the extra gas!
Mine gets 18.5 mpg. So much comfort and ability!

@@111washI ended up getting the VW Atlas. Although the GX is more reliable, I was sold by the advanced technology and HUGE space in the Atlas. I'm 6'3 and the Atlas is the only vehicle I feel small in.. 😆
I know that this video is a year old, but if you're still using the convertible car seat seen in the video for a rear facing child, please check the installation instructions. It appears that you have the seatbelt routed through the belt path for the forward facing configuration.

Is it typically Lexus quiet and refined inside at highway speed?
We have a mdx and I’m thinking this for its replacement eventually- the mdx definitely lacked quiet isolation interior i want but held up for 10 years ok
Yes. Every single Lexus SUV is much much quieter than an MDX. See my review on that car! The GX is a tank: Very sturdy and quiet! V8 is fairly quiet on the inside and makes a pleasing growl when prodded.
Go with the sequoia if you have a family. If your a more of. Weekend Warrior off-roader go with the gx.

We have a 2018 Toyota Camry and need something bigger because we have 3 kids. I’m currently looking at 2018 for this model. Do you still have it ? How has it been ? The reviews for longevity seems to be amazing. Since our Camry is paid off we’re keeping it but want something big and spacious to grow with and keep forever.
The sienna is excellent. It will fit all your family needs and more. Mines is 17 years old and it runs like brand new.

It's okay. Honestly I rarely listen to any music in the gx. I love how it's so quiet!

Nathan Tmr if you have an older 2015 model, it had entirely different front bumper and grill. Your Lexus parts store might have something similar
You don't have her car seat installed right. You have the seat belt routed through the forward facing belt path, not the rear. You can see where the latches are hanging, that is where the seat belt should be routed through. Notice how you can't get her in because the seatbelt is in the way? Ugh.

1 disadvantage of this car is: this car uses KDSS system. KDSS makes this car uncomfortable to drive. on the bumps the car is very tough
I would say that's an advantage, not a disadvantage. KDSS is great.

I rode in one recently (a 2012) and it was very comfortable. It's quite cumbersome to drive though. In that regard I'd rather have a GX470.
Maybe they make the entire car wood... lol. BYW the screen is fluctuating and flickering??? Great quality trucks love them BUT for the price they need to update interior...
1) gain 8 inches by shrinking front end engine compartment (larger 3rd row)
2) gain 7 more inches by increasing wheel base slightly (increased cargo)
3) double sun roofs are a standard in luxury these days...
4). Updated tech package...
5). Ease up on Macy day parade float look by tucking the the trim back into the truck rather than have it curving out... yuk.
Do that and they have the perfect family suv...
I like your ideas. I'm pretty sure they're refreshing this model in 2020 and replacing in 2022-3. The screen is solid, its refresh rate and my phone's don't match up that's why you get lines and flickering.

Buy yourself a Honda Pilot...way better vehicle for your purpose. Use the savings to go on a vacation with your family. You won't regret it.
CalzonaNFX the pilot is a nice vehicle! You should check out my review of it. Pilot is much bigger inside. It's down in power, towing capacity, off road capability, and comfort. The only thing the pilot didn't do well enough for me was road noise. It was one of the loudest cars I have driven. If that doesn't bother you then the Pilot is great!
I usually have music on so I don't notice the road noise. Even with the music down, I'm not bothered by the road noise. Then again, I don't really have a good reference point. I have the 2019 Pilot and love it.
I can see that. I am usually listening to podcasts or silence :) The Pilot is a great vehicle overall - I gave it a lot of praise in my review.
CalzonaNFX how does it feel to own one of the newer pilots? I have a 2013 model (best looking gen imo) and was trying to get hip to the 16' model. It looks too futuristic to me. Mind u, the pilot has been aging like wine since its debut but it seems like mass pop is 😴😴
el jefe if you need a more modern people moving machine, the pilot is a great choice if you don't want a minivan.
