  • Class-leading power, and luxury. We're looking at the $85,000.00 2019 Ford F-150 Limited with the new high output 3.5L EcoBoost Twin-Turbo V6 engine.
    PRN T-Shirts now available! Check out our original designs here: teespring.com/stores/prn
    This episode of TestDrive Snapshot goes over what's new for the 2019 Ford F-150 Limited, the top-end trim for Ford's best selling light duty pickup truck. We're mixing it up on this episode with lots of real-world sound bites and audio clips of the H.O. V6 engine, as well as tonnes of turbo spool and exhaust notes.
    We recommend watching our episode of TestDrive on the 2019 Ford F-150 Platinum from late last year to go over everything that's different for 2019 and everything else about the Ford F-Series light duty pickup truck.

    I like how the 2019 Ford F-150 limited has dual exhaust in the back and not just one exhaust coming out the side. It makes it look newer and not older like the other trim levels with the single exhaust coming out the side👍🏿

    The RAM is no joke and beautiful interior, the Ford F-150 is old money though. I love the King Ranch edition but this Limited looks great and you fit so well into it. The truck is fast but I wonder if the V8 will be more reliable in long term. Great review.

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  5 років тому +3

      Any force induction engine has the potential to be problematic down the road, I'm sure in the F-150 enthusiast forums you can find plenty of complaints about the EcoBoost engines, but considering how many Ford sells it's probably a small percentage. We've got the 2019 RAM 2500 this week, different beast but I'm hoping it'll open us up to more truck testing.

    • @JakeDrives1
      @JakeDrives1 5 років тому

      I’m sure the NA motors would be more reliable. But I have to say, we own a 2016 with the 5.0l and it feels gutless. This is pre-10 speed but if I were to order one I’d definitely have to go for the 3.5EB as much as I detest the sound of it. I’ve heard and read wonderful things about the EB. If well maintained it should be a pleasure to live with !

    the normal 3.5 in the f150 is also very nice, loads of power

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  5 років тому +1

      I believe we tested that engine with the first F-150 we did a few years back, but either way Ford has a solid lineup of engine choices for this truck.

    • @ddrum121
      @ddrum121 5 років тому +1

      @@PRNTestDrive would you guys rather own an F150 with the 3.5 ecoboost, or the 5.0 coyote? Im not sure how reliable the Ecoboost engines will be considering the added complexity. Also it would make sense that parts for the 5.0 would be much easier to come by.

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  5 років тому +1

      Great question. I haven't had the pleasure of driving the Coyote, but I know it's still a solid choice for a lot of buyers who want a no-fuss engine and aren't as worried about fuel economy or total payload/towing. Any forced induction engine has the potential for faster wear-and-tear down the road since it's under heavier strain. There's probably more aftermarket solutions for the Coyote also since it;'s been around for a while.

    • @ddrum121
      @ddrum121 5 років тому

      @@PRNTestDrive Yea thats the discussion I keep having with people about the 3.5 vs the 5.0. My folks are looking to get a new F150 and I suggested they get the 5.0 due to its proven reliability/parts, Ive driven one aswell and its great power, sounds great too.
      In the real world though gas mileage is probably better for the 5.0 than the ecoboost. I could not for the life of me get the 3.5 above 19mpg highway driving cross country in eco mode. Great review btw

    I just picked mine up in Toronto for $66K before tx, solid deal. I'm loving it, fast, smooth, great interior, quiet...maybe a little too quiet...there are some new options in terms of exhaust, might try the Mountune raptor exhaust which should add a little bottom end rasp which is about all I want.

      Unfortunately you can't with the Limited, Ford limits (ha) that trim to their High Output 3.5L EcoBoost engine. For 2021 I believe they've opened it up to include the new PowerBoost engine. Alternatively you could go with the 5.0L in the Platinum trim, there's really no difference in equipment you just don't get the exclusive interior leather colours or the exterior badging.

      This weekend wife and I took a Ford Limited for a cruise. Just for shits and giggles. Nope, my 2019 Ram is the ride to have by far. Now the Ford would be my second pick. The interiors of those GMs are so outdated. Dollar to dollar the Ram is worth it. That Ford had zap though. Really hard to say between the Ram and Ford had more snap and zip. GM 6.4 had balls for sure.

    I'd still take the ram. It literally competes with German luxury in the longhorn and limited trims.
    Anyways the f150 limited is the boss's truck, but the heavy duty limited is for rich people with 5th wheels, race horses, race cars or people who hotshot and tow for a living.
    Ram even introduced a limited trim chassis cab for the 3500-5500 trucks, so that way you can have your upfitted truck with a loaded interior. These arent only the boss's truck anymore as they were 15 years ago

    Who the F thinks a good review of a pickup, should be showing us making it act like a dragster. Give me a break. I don't care if a truck can get to a hundred miles an hour in just a few seconds. What the heck do I do with that information. Yeah man, I bought this truck because it's really fast. Get a truck up to those speeds then it is being forced to do something it wasn't built for. Give me, again, a break.

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  5 років тому +7

      That's.... that's the entire point of this tuck. That's the only reason you buy the 2019 Limited... is speed. You want all the luxury but fuel efficiency? Get the Platinum we featured last October with the 3.0L Power Stroke Turbo Diesel, comes with all the same features as this minus the special colour for the leather. The reason you buy a 2019 Limited is performance, that's the entire reason why Ford added the Raptor engine to this trim. Maybe you should relax a little before getting all worked up and missing the entire point of this video and the truck.

      Gregory S 🤨 2 close friends have 3.5 EB super crew 2017+ F150’s, I have a 2018 PLATINUM 3.5 EB as well... and we all talk about how fast they are, and how cool would it be for that RAPTOR engine to be available to other lower trims. We all are early 30’s MD’s and we don’t NEED a truck, we just like them, and we love it’s performance. Personally I enjoyed watching the truck being driven fast, more than it carrying plywood. If FORD didn’t knew it’s clientele they wouldn’t sell so many of these. That simple.
