I think my favorite parts of your videos are the cutting and chopping of wood and the fires. I love the entire presentation--but there's just something about fires in nature---not out of control, but fires you can sit in front of and think. Really lovely.
OMG, I thought I was the only one feeling that way, 😯. He has a way of explaining with this calmness that I love. Alot to learn from these videos too. Just love it!!!
I think that was the tent Lone Wolf designed for One Tigris but has since quit working with them as they allegedly ripped off all his photos using for their worldwide promos. Worth checking his recent video if you are interested 👍🏻
Thanks again Andy for another super-special uplifting video. Lovely to see you out and about and I am really happy to see new growth in the woods again, greenery starting to come back. Thank you.
Have the tent. Don't hammock at all but at the price range and it's ability to easily fit 2 cots it works great for me. I've gotten into the habit of building an interior stick frame that I tie together which really limits the tents movement in wind. So far so good. Built my own wood stove from a 50'' tool box which works great and burns considerably longer than my small collapsible...although the large stove is not really an option if your hiking a good distance. Used it (tent and stove) several times in the winter here (Ontario Canada) and stayed toasty all night.
I just tried setting it up and the other vids do not use those center loops in the ridgeline. It seems more taut just tying off the ends of the ridgeline. So I need to re-set up the tent. Do you have a vid of your internal frame? I bought adjustable paint poles as they are only $7 each or so. six of them but - still craving a frame. Do you get it to the 6 feet 1 inch height? Would like to be able to stand up in this tent. thanks
@@voidisyinyangvoidisyinyang885 I can make a short vid if you want but its pretty basic. I used pvc angled joints for the top front and rear (A shaped junction) from there I cut wood to fit snugly into pvc which forms the A - part of frame on either end. Make sure they end where the roof meets the walls of tent. On the inside wall part of tent I drive in 4 foot sections of cut wood 1/2 inch diameter, 3 on one side, 3 on the other. I join them with cordage or tie-wraps using a continuous piece of wood on each side running the length of the tent...so for each of the three anchors on each side you have a long beam lashed to the top of them on each side. Picture a short fence. You then attach the A- frame part of your roof (making sure to have your center pole connected to the pvc as well.) If you want extra strength for your center roof beam lash two lengths of wood together. I use a cot so I'm able to use a central support beam. In high wind conditions I've added additional beams running from wall to roof. Note that you should still tie off your external cordage and be sure to remove any protrusions that could damage the tent from your main roof beam. Sounds complicated but it only takes me about 35 min to set the frame up now alone. Much quicker with help.
Dude you don't need an expensive tent for it to be good. You just need a easy to put up tent that is waterproof and your set. I use a backpack from blacks that was £20 and it's all you need haha
I would really enjoy a mid fall camp in the Wind River mountains of Wyoming with your set up. I have canvas wall tents to cover with a heavy silver tarp and frame to handle the snow load late fall. Another excellent video and camp sir… and obviously… the cooking
The more you travel, the more you see that there are so many wonderful things in the world. It can be difficult to settle for something great when you can see that there could always be something better just round the next corner. Travel can sometimes simply be about a quest for perfection. This quest for perfection that we are looking for,we found just now in your video so the only that we have to say on you: Huge thank you and keep going!!!!!!
Great video. I have that tent, and the Kompound hammock, and have had a number of nights in both. There's a big difference in wind reduction from having a tent around the hammock, even without a stove, but condensation can be a problem due to the single skin. I use hiking poles at the 4 corners to prop up the tent and provide a bit of stability. I could cut some sticks but I like the quickness of this system. I have to say though, the OneTigris Kompound hammock isn't very good IMO. The ridgeline fixture isn't strong enough (thin ribbon tape, cheap paracord and a plastic adjuster) and with it being a short hammock it's tricky to get a good diagonal lay. Despite this it gets very good reviews. I replaced the ridgeline with one made of dyneema from Henge Hammocks. That underblanket too isnt cut right to allow a diagonal lay either - my son has one. I've been using the Snugpak UQ for a couple of years now (previously with my TW Green Hornet hammock), but recently got one of the OneWind 0C UQ. Should give me another few degree's of warmth over the Snugpak. I've also just received an Easy Hammock Classic (the uninsulated version) just before Christmas and the difference in workmanship is night and day over the OneTigris. Matthew (prop of Easy Hammocks) does great work. Can't wait for the next camp at my group's permission. Hoping one day I'll be able to get one of those Pomoly woodstoves to complete the setup. ATB for 2022.
Ive got something like the tent on my wish list. Might try a hammock with it too . Pathfinder has something to run saplings through and make a cot out of too . When I can save up for them.
You know you've made it if they etch your name on a wood stove. : - ) Tent with hammock and stove is genius. Can be used as a tarp shelter in warm climate with a built in bug net. Everything in one box.
Hi Andy Very strange but interesting set up. I like the personalized touch on the stove. Don't know if anyone has said before but you have a very unique axe swing the way you tip out sideways when you get into the swing upward. Maybe I noticed because I was on a softball league in my younger days. Anyway nice video take care
That Kent weather..is so amazing..sun and not a breeze.. Living in the wettest, gloomiest and possibly breeziest city in the UK I dream of days like this..
Your videos are so chilled and easy to follow thanks for sharing them I'm from Kent but moved to Southern Ireland 2004 just bought myself and my son a Hammock each and a 3x3 tarp should be fun adventures. Just about to buy a roofbox lite tent more adventures. Thanks again for the inspiration.
It seems like a good tent if you were going to be at the same camp for awhile. Otherwise, it seems like a lot of work for one night. I like hammocks for resting, but that swinging all night wouldn't be too great. Thanks for sharing.
I'm already a subscriber to lonewolf 902. He camps out alot and into alot of things. He's fixed up his truck with wooden planks and he's got a bed in there and orger things. He's putting in lights so his truck will light up all over. You have a good channel also.. I'm subscribed to alot of people that go out and do things on their own. Corporals corner is a good show. the most frightening thing for first-time wood burning tent stove users is, the noise it makes, the pop and creak of the metal, also the chimney pipe will glow red. The first time I used one, I was up all night watching it because, when you're in a tent and the thought hits you that you have a fire inside your tent, your mind starts reeling and worry. I got used to it, no big deal when get used to it. it's something that will take time to get your head around. if you follow all the right ways, being safe, you will have a great time with a stove in your tent. but ... get a larger tent. I live where it rains a lot, so I set up that I can do my cooking and heat source in the tent, just in case I need to stay inside a whole day. Camping in heavy rain , If you have the right gear... is so very nice and enjoyable...most beautiful relaxing camping is listening to the rain on the tent and enjoying a nice warm fire...oh it's so relaxing and therapeutic.
oh, and don't let these guys fool you about hot tents. I went in early spring. still snow on ground, was 10 degrees f pretty much whole day and night... but in my hot tent with wood stove, keeping it stoked, it was 70s the whole time..I didn't need to get in my sleep bag to sleep, slept on top. was in shorts and t shirt. when I was in the army, we had ftx field training. a huge tent for 30 guys, a 55 gallon drum was a tent stove. it was always toasty in that tent, was about the same in my camp tent. I could boil water, make coffee in a percolator, cook up food that didn't require much. it was like RV camping in a tent if you get the right things.
Morning Andy, Just heard about a young boy by the name of Max from north Devon, He has spent 363 days under canvas to raise money for a hospice that cared for an adventurer, The young man was inspied by this man who before he died gave him his tent and told him, " seek out an adventure ", Max is calling for all people to join him tonight for a night under the stars, Me and the kids tonight will have an adventure.

Yes, I designed it, they stole it and I left them
Nice mention about Lone Wolf. You're a class-act.

How cool is it that you have your channel name on the stove burner in your tent? Awesome.
Monogrammed towels always struck me as pretentious but a monogrammed stove-----I'm impressed. And quite a nice stove.
Very humble of you to mention LoneWolf 902. This channel and LoneWolf's are my to go channels for bushcraft. Thanks for the video!
I thought he's laying the onetigris stuff on pretty thick, and then boom out comes the pomoly stove 🤣😂🤣😂😉😉👏🏼👏🏼
I recall that Lonewolf 902 didn't have a good experience with this company.
Among others
It was lonewolf 902 design
@@gnrgazza this design has been around before that to be honest, but yes he did bring it to onetigris and they did do the dirty on him.

Probably better than Faceless housecats.

It's bigger because of the heater. To give it space and not catch gear on fire.
An interesting concept. I think the hammock takes too much room though. A cot would be better. Both meals you made looked delicious!
I'll never buy OneTigris because of the way they conduct themselves. Thanks for the vid, love the stove haha
