Hot Tent Camping - A Crisp Autumn Evening and Rainy Night/Morning in the Pomoly StoveHut 70 3.0

- Join me on my first hot tent camp of the season. On this trip I’m finally using a more modern flat pack stove and hot tent. This was actually the first time I’ve ever been able to carry an entire hot tent set up in my backpack, so I was very excited for this trip. After setting up camp, and processing plenty of wood for the evening, I cook myself a nice autumn meal and relax by the warm glow of the wood stove. This is definitely a very comfortable way to spend the evening in a tent. I got pretty heavy rain throughout the night and morning but everything stayed nice and dry inside the tent. Overall I really enjoyed this trip and I’m looking forward to more hot tent camps this winter when the temps drop below freezing!

I wasn't expecting the chimney to be unrolled from a tube into another tube, so cool.
It’s very convenient and much lighter than the stainless steel tubes that are bulkier and have to all be fit together 👍
That stove and its glow makes everything look so cosy! Soup looked lovely too!
I really like that this stove has the side glass. It definitely adds a bit more of the glowing ambiance to the tent compared to my old stove that just had glass on the front 🔥👍. Can’t go wrong with a warm soup next to a fire! Appreciate you watching!
You’re dangerous for my bank balance 😂
Lovely set up, be a great mid winter option 👌🏼
😂 I’m dangerous for my own bank balance. I’m currently researching and updating my winter sleeping system for my camps in the mountains. (been using the same system for 6 yrs). I did really really enjoy this setup! Will be fantastic for cold winter nights in a woodland!
Have to say im not a camper but watching your videos it almost makes me want to do it! Have to compliment you on the camera work and ambience you create. And man you can cook! Very relaxing and interesting watch. Good work 👏
Thank you! Campings not for everyone but it’s definitely a reset but for me so if you’re interested I would highly recommend giving it a go at some point. Really appreciate the comment! ATB
I'm going to totally blame you now if I end up getting into hot tent camping and have to re-mortgage my apartment to get all the gear. 🤣 Looks amazing.
Great vid as always mate. 👍
😂 It’s definitely a comfortable way to camp in cold weather 👍. Appreciate the comment!
Awesome video, what a tent and stove, the soup looked delicious! As always what I like about your content are the great locations, kit, filming, and cooking!!! Thanks so much
Thank you! It was definitely a nice spot to enjoy the autumn leaves. Really appreciate comment and the continued support 🙏👍🏕️
Slowly becoming my favourite outdoor channel (trust me I watch a lot!)
Keep up the great content 🏕
Very kind of you to say. Really happy you’re enjoying the videos. Hope you have a nice weekend!
I really love that setup. Without the stove, it's a perfect gear vestibule, too. Great soup for sleeping alone. 😇
Thanks! It’s a really interesting design. I do like the gear storage/stove space. When the awning is closed you also have some space under there as well. Appreciate the comment!
it could also be a dogs sleeping area
Uncle used to use a small piece of tarp or even the roll the tent went into to transport wood...
A small 3 yard tarp is great too... piles of wood in one trip :D
A small piece of tarp definitely come in handy for a variety of tasks 👍. I considered using the bag the tent came in, but I wasn’t that far from camp. Appreciate you stopping by again to watch another video!
Really love this tent great colour very roomy and open and tall enough for even me and the fire/ stove makes it extremely cosy and then the sound of the rain ❤❤❤❤
Really love your videos it’s ,y daily addiction right now and it’s helping me plan ideas in my head how I would do things
I love the serenity of it being in the actual world not inside a brick or concrete enclosure wasting your life like I currently am
When I’m in nature I feel alive I love the rain hitting me and the wind really makes you feel alive even it is a simulation😂 it’s good simulated nature 😂
Love your leave no trace mentality and that you remind people about this makes them conscience of it
👍💯
This tent was a fantastic upgrade from my Polish Lavvu that I used hot tenting for many years. It has a lot of nice features and is very comfortable 👍. The colour blends in nicely with an autumn woodland as well. Leaving a place as you found it is very easy. I just wish more people would LNT 👍. All the best
Thank you for yet another soothing and beautifully filmed video. Hope you have a lovely thanksgiving!
Thank you for watching another one of my videos! It’s always nice to get out into the forest this time of year. Hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving as well! ATB
Level 10 coziness indeed! Loved that, thanks for sharing your adventures :)
😂👍 Thanks! It was a really nice camp!
Cheer's 🥂 for a hundred years....
Hope you had a wonderful New Years 👍
@@GoingSoloOutdoors I hope you had a Great New years 🎊 too...may all of your wishes come true for this New year....
Have been pondering on buying that tent and stove. Dont get to bad in winter time here, especially with freezing temps. But as I get older, I believe having a nice warm tent on wet cool autumn nights is starting to sound nice lol. I will definitely be checking into now, thanks for sharing. Stay safe and good adventures.
It’s a unique camping experience. It definitely makes for a comfortable evening in the tent! I usually never keep the stove going once I go to bed though. I use to and you have to wake up every couple hours to feed the stove and that’s no fun so I still bring a winter sleeping bag. Being able to warm the tent up in the morning with the stove is also very nice! Appreciate the comment!
Nice comfy camp, a lot of work, but so worth it. Fantastic soup - I thought for a second you were going to baton the carrots for full bushcraft effect!
Definitely a lot more work for a hot tent camp but absolutely worth it for the cozy night in the tent. Appreciate the comment! Hope you have a nice weekend.
Finally dude! have been waiting for your new video! 👍👍
I wish I could get out more often! Hope you enjoy the video 👍
@@GoingSoloOutdoors Oh yeah, love the lighter setup in a single backpack. And rainy weather + stove camping feels so cozy!
@@hunterthompson8450 being able to carry everything in the backpack is a huge improvement! I do really like my old stove, but carrying it in a duffel bag was tough
I really enjoyed your video! It looks like it was a great location. I am considering hot tent camping gear options for here in Central Ohio and that specific Pomoly tent/stove combo is on my short list. I’m not a backpacking camper. So although weight is important when I’m on the motorcycle, it is not much of a concern as it is for others. I motorcycle camp and truck camp. Thank you for posting this video.
Thank you for watching. This is a great hot tent and stove combo. I really like the versatility and size of this hot tent. Makes for a really comfortable camp 👍. Really appreciate you taking the time to comment. ATB
I enjoyed this video. I have a similar tent from One Tigris. It doesn't have a stove jack but opens up on the front and the back. At 70 years old hot stove camping wouldn't be good for these sore bones. Lol. But, I do love to watch others do the winter camping. Looks like so much fun. But age has caught up with me. Too many atheletic endevours my whole life did a number on my joints. But, wouldn't have traded it for anything. Hiking and camping was probably the most rewarding outdoor activity I enjoyed most. Great video as always.😊
I believe I have the same tent you are talking about. The One Tigris backwoods bungalow. I absolutely love that tent for camping in the woods 👍. This has that similar baker style design but with the additional doors on the side and the area for the stove. Such comfortable tents! You may not be able to do what you once did but those sore bones and joints are a badge of honor for a life well lived 👍😀. Really appreciate your thoughtful comment. All the best.
You can use the ashes with some water it cleans the glass very easily.
👍😀That’s a good tip! I’ve done that technique with our woodstove at home. Thanks for watching
Looks like you had a really nice time in your hot tent! I also picked up some pro cooking skilles watching you make soup. We are waiting for more snow in Norway. Looking forward to go skiing and wintercamping. Thank you for a great video! Atb Ørjan
Thanks buddy! I’m no pro cook, but I do my best to make a tasty meal 👍. I’m sure I’ll be jealous when I see pictures and videos of you camping in the snow! I’m really hoping we get some nice snowfall here this year so I can do some more snow camps 🤞🙏❄️
great to see another of your films. i enjoy your channel, thank you! also nice to see the new hot tent setup!
Thanks! I was extremely excited to use this new more modern setup. I’ve been using my old heavier setup for around 6 to 7 years. It was time for a lighter upgrade 👍. I really appreciate the continued support!
Now, you have a stew 🍲 going on .... 😋
It was very tasty 👍
Absolutely fantastic film! The tent is perfect for the placement of the stove. I think I much prefer that to my OneTigris Iron Wall. As Chris from MCM Outdoors said, you certainly cook up some excellent food! ATB
I agree about the stove placement. It’s nice not having to worry about bumping into it. Which was always a massive concern when I hot tent camp with my kids in our Lavvu. Chris is a nice guy! I definitely enjoy cooking 👍. Appreciate the comment!
great job on the bushcraft and i tried a previous recipe from the one tigris backwoods bungalo video which was great. added to the bush cookbook, thank you. I am getting the tent and stove. Pomoly give this man some money for that one!! lol Cheers brother
😂 no money necessary. Just glad you liked the video and the recipe. This hot tent and stove combination has been nice so far. Looking forward to using it this winter. Hopefully in some snow ❄️🤞. Appreciate you taking the time to comment! ATB
Heck yeah! Let's hit Snowdonia next!
😀👍 I will be starting to look for any possibility of snow. Still a bit early but we are getting close 🤞❄️
Awesome as always. Thank you for sharing.
God bless you and your family.
So kind of you to comment on each video you watch. It is really appreciated 🙏😀
Ay up fella.
Looks cosy me owd, great camp 👍🙂
Thanks! It was a nice camp 👍
Really enjoying your camping recipes so far. Amazing ingredients, but simple enough. Not your regular boil in a bag MRE style meals lol
Thanks! For these single night camps it’s nice to have a regular meal and the cooking gives me something to do in the evening.
Another cracking film Todd. Amazing how small that stove packs down. ATB Jiffy 👍🏻
Thanks Jiffy. It’s pretty impressive how far stoves have come 👍.
I was close to buying a new FireHiking Fireden, but your video changed my mind. I'm running an older Luxe 3w titanium stove (good stove, efficient burn), but that Pomoly stove is a much better setup design. Cheers.
I remember the Luxe 3W! I stove have my old Luxe Hexpeak and Megahorn, I think you would definitely enjoy the upgrades of some of the modern Pomoly stoves 👍.
just discover your channel from your unexpected hail video and started binge watching all your videos, really love your calm and confident personality when dealing with unexpected situation.
keep going bro 🔥.
Thank you! That hail camp was definitely a memorable one. Still can’t believe that was in July. I really appreciate you taking the time to watch my other videos! All the best
I love this tent model and stove.
I am pretty happy with it so far 👍. Definitely an upgrade from my old setup!
What specific model of stove did you decide on? I'm also looking for something relatively light and small that will fit in my backpack.
@@bartfpv2992 I’m using the T1 mini 3 👍
I have the same hot tent, only managed to get out in it once and loved it but planning on a few more trips for January. Great video again
Thanks! I’m really enjoying it so far. The space is nice! Especially compared to my small flourless Lavvu 👍
Coziness level is definitely 10. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Hot tenting is by far the most cozy way to camp 👍😀. Like being at home by the woodstove!
Have been waiting for this video!! Looks super cozy! My husband and I look forward to hot tent camping for the first time this season!
It’s definitely a fun way to camp 👍. Hope the two of you have a great time! ATB
Really enjoyed the conversation and video! Thank you for sharing with us!
I’m glad you liked it. I’m still trying to find that balance between talking to the camera and just enjoying my camp. I felt like I had a bit more time to just relax on this camp which was nice. The longer nights definitely help with that. Appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment!
@@GoingSoloOutdoorsI think you are doing great on the balance and yes it is nice to be able to enjoy camp. Glad you were able to get out! Your welcome!
You should get a lav mic. So when you turn your head or do a wide shot (when you are further from the cam) you will still get consistent sound. Pro advice from a film guy. ;)
Edit. ok for sure you need a Dundee knife... LOL. and a Michael Jackson silicon glove for the stove
I completely agree with you and I’ve wanted to get one since I started the channel but I just can’t do it. I know it sounds stupid but I just can’t stomach wearing a lav mic 🤣 (I may just have to shout more). It’s bad enough I’m playing with a camera so much while I’m out camping! really appreciate watching and taking the time to comment.
@@GoingSoloOutdoors yah, the other 2 options are either have a full documentary film crew with you (obviously sleeping in your tent with you) or to just do only closer shots...hehe (They do make shotgun mics for cameras as well.). I like my film crew idea. My buddy in London can send some people to you. He's Canadian
@@kevinn1158 haha yeah no film crews for me please. I do these camps so I don’t have to see people! I currently use a rode videomicro, but I have thought about upgrading it to one of their beefier models.
Microphone 🎙️
Ugh I’ve started looking a lav mics again. If I get it, I will only probably wear in certain shots though.
Very nice, so cozy & the soup was perfect 👍🏻 thank you for sharing happy camping ⛺️
Definitely a comfortable way to spend the evening! Thanks for watching 🙏😀
Another great video. Shame it wasn’t colder outside so you got the full benefit of the stove.
Thanks! I agree, I’m really excited for the temps to start dropping below freezing. However, it was a good test to see if I can use the stove in the shoulder seasons. I was pleasantly surprised that I comfortably can, unlike my old set up. Appreciate the comment!
Nice setup 👌 THANKS
Definitely a cozy way to camp 👍😀. Thanks for watching!
Another great video 😃👍 I need to try hot tent camping one day!
Thanks! I highly recommend it 👍. It’s a bit more effort to get everything setup and ready for the evening, but once you do it’s a really cosy way to spend the night in a tent.
Food always looks great.
Thank you!

Very nice my friend 🤠
Thanks! It was a fun camp 👍
Good camp, Nice combination of tent and stove, the Casstrom forest its one of my favorite! Happy Christmas e New year mu friend! 🤠🙏🏻
It’s a very cosy setup 👍. The No 10 is probably my favorite belt knife. Happy holidays buddy!
Smart man, wearing gloves when rolling that piece of titanium into a long round pipe.
Hilleberg doesn't have anything similar to your hot tent.
I've never even been inside a HOT tent/stove combination, let along overnight with one.
Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada
👍 Gloves are a must, the pipe can definitely be quite sharp! Hot tenting is very fun and comfortable but it requires a lot more work and heavy gear. I am surprised Hilleberg never developed a hot tent. I think it would be a nice addition to their lineup. Appreciate the comment!
@@GoingSoloOutdoors I paid $680 for my Enan in 2020. Some time ago I noticed it was $720. Apparently prices were raised in 2020, it is now $785. Akto was $595 in 2020, it is now $690. I can well imagine I could sell my Enan for more than I paid for it & this is for a piece of personal property, something that normally depreciates over time. Hilleberg raises price on the first of a new year, IF they are going to raise prices. HOwever, I still believe Hilleberg brand is a better value than most other brands & their tents have truly withstood the test of time & usage all over the world.
@@azclaimjumper yes I noticed they raised the prices across the board this year. Both in the states and here in Europe. I still believe they are worth every penny but paying a couple hundred extra for some of the two man black and red label tents is a tough pill to swallow for many. But I believe people who are in the market for expedition caliber tents will continue to pay the cost for the handmade quality construction of a Hilleberg. I know I will.
New to your channel and really appreciate your editing. Great presentation. Just curious why you saw rounds then have to tote them to the stove. I have always found it easier to drag branches to the tent site and sawing there.
It absolutely is easier to drag the branches to the tent 👍. I normally would have but there was a dense bit of brush between me and the tent and the branches just kept getting hung up. I wasn’t too far from the tent and I found a nice log to brace them on for cutting so I just decided to cut it all there. Really appreciate you watching!
A great way to clean the glass is by using some wet kitchen towel and the fine ash from the stove 😀
Love your videos!!
That’s actually what I do with our woodstove at home. Except I have a disgusting sponge that I’ll dip in the ash. I could have used one of my rehydrating towelettes. Not sure why I didn’t think of that 😂👍. Next time! Appreciate the comment! Hope you have a nice weekend
@@GoingSoloOutdoors Thank you for the reply! I'm unwell at the moment so cheered myself up watching several of your videos and looking for camping bits and bobs 😀 I'm set on getting the Pomoly Stove Hut 3.0 in the new year - just bought a tent stove, sadly not a Pomoly though!
Have an amazing Christmas !!
@@soniadavies35Hope you feel better. I think you will enjoy the hot tent and have a nice Christmas as well!
Another superb video mate. Thank you👊🏻
Thank you! Always fun to get out in a hot tent 🏕️🔥
That was great another successful camp thanks for the videos keep up the good work 🔥
Thanks! I always really enjoy the autumn camps 🏕️🍂
I love this tent! This is the second video that I’ve seen where it’s being backpacked! I didn’t think that was possible.
Being a semi-experienced backpacker, I tallied up the weight of some of your items. You’re shouldering quite a lot just from the tent and stove alone. Two cans of liquid brew ha ha, non-dehydrated goods, milk.. (fresh milk?! How are you keeping that cooled?!)
At your age and strength probably fairly barely doable but at 50 not for me. I would like to try this on my own while keeping the pack weight to around mid-30 lbs.
You’re right about the tent awning poles being too short. I have a comfortable camp chair that makes it so the awning rests on my head. I searched around and found super light weight aluminum collapsible ones that extend out much more than those 4 foot-ish stick ones. Much better clearance! Regardless, I like your set-up and can’t wait to see more with it!
It’s been a great hot tent so far. Any hot tent setup is going to be heavy compared to a normal backpacking trip. I was just extremely happy to be able to fit everything in this pack. Definitely doable though. The key is to find a pack that carries the weight well. This pack feels like magic. Everything‘s actually quite comfortable to carry. I’ve always been very athletic though, so I can’t speak to how it might feel for everyone. That’s something you have to decide for yourself. As for the food, I usually freeze certain items. In the summers I will also freeze water and keep that next to the food. However, on winter camps, it’s not much of a concern. I still really enjoy using my canvas Lavvu but this tent has so many modern features it’s a bit more versatile and can be comfortably used throughout the years. If you’re concerned about weight, you can easily just cut sticks to length for the poles and make your own stakes. They also sell this tent in a 20 D material which is lighter as well 👍. Appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment. ATB
As always a really enjoyable and relaxing video. We've caught up with all of your videos now. We tried to ration ourselves so that we didn't run out but that didn't work out too well so have started watching the old ones again. In my opinion I think that you should leave your job and jus concentrate on making videos. At least one a day......or 2....2 would be better! 😂
😂👍 this is just a hobby/passion. Truly appreciate you taking the time to watch all my videos. It really means a lot! Maybe one day I will be able to make full camping videos more often. I do make at least one or two short videos a week over on Instagram of my little coffee outings or cooking hikes if you’re interested 👍. Hope you’re having a nice weekend! ATB
I do watch all the short videos, just really enjoy.the longer ones.
@@andylittlebritain7680 you are the best!! My plan is to get out for another camp at the end of the month.
Super relaxing hot tent camping video. Big thumbs up 👍. Do you never use any sugar in your coffee in the morning?
I'm looking forward to your next vids, ATB🙂
Hot tenting is such a relaxing way to camp. Like being at home by the fireplace. No I don’t take sugar in my coffee. When I’m outdoors it’s usually black. At home I am usually an espresso drinker so so I will usually make a flat white in the mornings with two shots of espresso and no sugar. I love my coffee a little too much 😅.
@@GoingSoloOutdoors Great. 👍 I'm also a coffee lover 😄 I drink it with a little sugar (espresso, instant coffee - no matter what)
@@borkogb 👍👍 I’ve been using a bit more instant coffee lately while out camping. Definitely convenient
What pack do you use? I’m in need of a new one and am always looking for recommendations! Great video and showcasing of both the tent and stove; stunning campsite, too!
On this camp I used the Fjallraven Keb 72. I also have the 52L version and I really like it. It may not be the lightest pack but it is very durable and has a comfortable carry system 👍. Really appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment. ATB

Love your channel and this was a great video. Love the hot tent also that soup looked fabulous. I’m going to make this weekend. Thanks for sharing. Watching from Florida.
Thank you! The first hot tent camp of the year is always very exciting. Especially when you can find a place with some nice autumn colors. Hope you enjoy the soup! It’s tasty 👍
Great content! Didn’t really get on with the roll out pipe! Nearly disastrous, invested in Pomoly‘s pipe sections, s o much more sturdy!
Thanks! There is definitely a learning curve to prepping a new pipe and properly burning it in so that you can easily roll it into shape. But once you do it’s extremely easy. I have a sectioned pipe as well for my other stove. More weight and pack size but definitely more sturdy. Really appreciate you watching!
@ had it shape and everything, it crumpled in a breeze, even though I had it anchored! My spider senses were right!
Interesting 🤔. Not sure what the issue was but that definitely shouldn’t have happen. You should contact Pomoly. I’ve had mine in actual strong winds with zero issue. At least you now have something your happy with and that’s all that matters, Just a bit more to carry. All the best
@ actually the weight isn’t too bad! But in the world of tents, it’s horses for courses, I wouldn’t be using the stove hut up a mpountain.
Fantastic film again 😀
Thanks! 👍
Been a while. Always looking forward to your videos.
I wish I could get out more often! But I am already planning to head out on a trip at the end of the month as well 👍
Another inviting video. You make the tent look amazing but reviews say it leaks from the rain and caves in the wind. Did you have any leaks or suspect certain areas might be prone to it? If the wind did pick up it looks like it would push the fabric onto the hot metal of the stove. Do you think that is too easy to happen to risk buying it given how windy the UK is?
I have also seen previous versions of this tent leak. I can’t speak to those, but this tent, version 3.0 has taped seams and did really well in heavy rain all night. There are additional guy out points on the stove portion of the tent that keeps it stable in the wind. In a dense woodland you also don’t typically deal with ground level wind so that’s not really an issue I’m concerned with either. That being said, I would not camp in any hot tent in a windy open area. For the price I’m pretty happy with the quality of this hot tent so far. It kept me dry and comfortable all night so I can’t complain 👍. Appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment.
@@GoingSoloOutdoors Thank you for the reply. Much appreciated. Yes, it would be a great tent for the woods. It's affordable, so maybe I'll be able to try it out before too long.
They make a few different versions of it. This is the 70d material one. I specifically wanted this one because from what I could see it was the one with the new updates like the taped seams 👍. I’m not sure if the others have that
I Know This Is A Year Old,But Have Seen Past Video’s Of This,And You Have The Only Decent Updated One..As Long As Theres No Leaks,I Would Like 1 Of These,I Love The Design.
I love the design of this tent! This new version has been great. So far all the seams that are taped have held and the tent has continued to keep me dry when it is raining! Really appreciate you watching. Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Its a Backwoods Bungalo with a porch added on for the stove. Maybe that big side wall could have a built in tap so you can harvest that rain water you collected ha ha.
What do you think about sitting the stove on a flat rock with the legs folded so that the heat goes into the rock making it a thermal heat sink, radiating out longer after the fire has gone out,?
From what you were saying it seems like you could put a mesh grill raide up an inch to get seperation between the ash and new sticks
Yeah it definitely has that similar baker style design like my backwoods bungalow but much more spacious inside with additional side doors. I’ve used a rock underneath before. Works as a heat sink but not really necessary if your sleeping bag keeps is warm enough when the fire goes out. I haven’t done it yet but at some point I might try putting a small rack on the base to raise the coals. Thanks for watching!
@@GoingSoloOutdoors IThanks for the reply. I was just thinking that when you put a rack in and want the air flow you put a bloack of wood under it at the front to hold it up, then it will just burn down and settle lower naturally as the rest of the wood burns too.
I recently bought 2 hot tents, One for car camping one for chasing whitetails in the hills!! Was wondering what backpack brand that is? I really like the look!!
Nice! I’m using the Fjallraven Keb 72 on this camp 👍
Great video as always! Food looked delicious as always but I think I would have some concerns about the fumes in the tent from the stove especially at night when you are sleeping. 😧
Thanks! I typically take a carbon monoxide detector with me if I plan on attempting to keep the stove running throughout the night. I’ve done it before but to be honest it’s no fun waking up every couple hours to throw a log in. So I just bring a warm enough sleeping bag and only enjoy the warmth of the stove while I am awake 👍
Hi. Nice video! This tent with stove is very cool! I like it! I have a question about your cooking pot and the kettle that fits in the pot. Which size are the pot and kettle that they fit so perfectly together? Greetings Markus
Hi Markus. I am using the small trangia kettle 0.6L and the MSR stowaway pot 775 ml. It’s a nice combination 👍
Thanks for your answer. Yes this combination is very cool. I own the same pot but not the trangia. I don’t like aluminum for cooking gear. Is the 775ml capacity enough for your outdoor cooking?
@@markusgro1430 I usually use it when I am making stews, soups or chilli for just me. On many camps I often just use a skillet for most meals 👍

Hey brother awesome vid! Do you happen to have a gear list anywhere because I want to check out those pants and that pack was pretty nice! Where can I find a list of things you use?
If you take a look at my community tab I will post a flat lay photo of all my gear before each trip 👍. I don’t normally include camera equipment or clothing though. On this trip, I was using the Fjallraven Vidda Pro trousers. They have been going strong for 6-7 years now!
Hello, just wondering what the stove is called, great video btw!
Thanks! It’s the Pomoly T1 mini 3 👍
Can you pitch a tent in any British woodland area ? Fantastic content, Sir
Thanks! No, it is not legal to wildcamp just anywhere. I try to find out who the landowner is and get permission ahead of time. If I can’t determine the landowner and the woodland is large I will find an isolated location, pitch late and leave early. Always leaving absolutely no trace. Appreciate the comment!

This must be the 3.0. I have the 2.0, and it has the Velcro stove jack, instead of the zippered. The only problem I have is zipping and unzipping the awning….the flaps always gets stuck in the zipper

I did really enjoy using this tent. I’m not sure the name of the thermostat. It just says Eurohike on it. I believe I just randomly purchased it at the counter of some camping store at some point. It’s cheap but light and serves its purpose 👍. If you do an Internet search hopefully you can find it. Appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment!
I was going to buy a lavuu I am retired I couldn't swing it I'm on a fixed income. Thanks for the reply
@@roscoexparfield4319you should look at military surplus stores. Thats where I got my first Lavvu for around $20
Thanks I looked on eBay it was a genuine polish surplus. I will do that
You should get an ikea bag to help carry the cut up rounds.
That would definitely work 👍. But normally I don’t process wood away from camp like this. My tent was close by and I found a nice log to cut the wood on. That’s the only reason I did. Appreciate the comment!
went camping in 50 degree couple week ago up north was nice
That’s a nice temperature for a camp 🏕️. Appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment. ATB
I love cabbage. It's one of the most underappreciated vegetables in the U.S.😂
I like cabbage as well. But that may be because my mom made it a lot when I was growing up. This recipe was actually modified recipe that my mother gave me 👍
Love this video,
What is that tent?
Thank you! This is the Pomoly Stovehut 70 3.0
im now looking into a hot tent setup so thanks for the amazing video , what stove is this please ?
Glad you liked the video. It’s a very comfortable way to camp when the weather gets cold 👍😀
@ it looks amazing and the videos are so good , was this a pomoly t1 mini ?
Cheers
@@philipmullan6321 oh sorry forgot to answer the question about the stove. This is the T1 Mini 3 👍
Love your vids m8. Subscribed. What model is this stove. I see a lot of pomoly stoves but most are minis. would a mini be hot enough to heat this tent. thanx.
Thanks, really appreciate the support. This is the T1 mini 3. It is definitely hot enough to heat this tent 👍.
@@GoingSoloOutdoors thank you m8. top man
Literally just discovered your videos, watched 3 already. I have to ask where did you get the "leather" base thing for your stove. I need one. Cheers!
I often use a little leather mat from Hultafors called the trekkers little helper. Really appreciate you watching multiple videos 🙏😀.
Good camp vid. Hey what model Benchmade or other knife do you use? Winter camping now.
On this camp I was using the Victorinox Hercules and the casstrom no10 forest knife. The only benchmade I have is the bugout. I often use the victorinox soldiers knife for food prep.
great video! What model of stove is that?
Thanks! I am using the Pomoly T1 Mini 3 👍
We call that a stewp when we make a thick soup. From Rachel Ray Year’s ago.
A fitting name 👍 I will have to use that. Appreciate the comment!
Love the vid! How long does it take for the stove to cool down enough for you to pack it away?
Aside from the weight savings, its ability to cool down quickly is another huge benefit of a titanium stove. It cools much faster than my old stainless steel stove. Normally I would never use my old stove in the morning because it just takes so long for it to cool down. This on the other hand cools down extremely fast 👍
I wonder if you can buy a grate insert for the stove?
I have one for my other stove. I’ve considered just placing a few metal bolts on the base of the stove and placing it on top in this stove. Would probably help a good bit.
@@GoingSoloOutdoors great idea!
What victorinox knife model do you use.😅that look delicious.❤.
Thanks! I am using the victorinox soldiers knife
Genial 😂🎉
😀👍
Do you prefer this type of hot tent to the teepee style ? Thanks
I have only ever used tipi style hot tents until I got this tent. Tipi tents definitely have their advantages though. They evenly distribute heat (you do still get temperature differences the higher you go in the tipi though), they are quick to pitch, and they are better at shedding snow and wind. That being said, I really really liked using this tent. I have a very large tipi I also use with my family and friends but it’s a bit difficult to get a perfect pitch on slightly uneven ground. This tent however was very easy to setup and has a lot of versatility my tipi tents don’t have. I am also a big fan of baker style tents which are nice when it’s raining. It’s honestly too early to say which I prefer. I am still in the honeymoon phase with this tent. The only thing I can say for sure at this time is that it has way more features than my tipi tents. I know that may not be a definitive answer to your question but hopefully it helps 👍
@@GoingSoloOutdoors that’s brilliant thank you. I actually have this tent but haven’t used overnight just yet. Was thinking of getting a tipi style too but not sure if I’d miss not having a floor. Enjoyed your video 👍
@@colincox2058 Thanks! My one man Tipi tent is normally way too hot to camp in when it’s above freezing. It doesn’t have a floor and normally I don’t miss the floor below freezing because there’s no bugs and the grounds usually pretty solid. However, on this camp, I really enjoyed having a floor and a bug net because it was pretty buggy still. I think a tipi tent is definitely worth trying at some point. Humans have been using them for a long time for a reason. They are brilliant in a wide range of conditions 👍.
Lovely stuff.
Where’d you get the velcro topped dry bag from?
That’s my bear bag from Zpacks! I’ve been using that as my food bag since back in the day when I went through my ultralight phase 😆. I still use it on every camp 👍
Can you drop a link or name of this exact tent ? Right up the alley of what im looking for
I am using the Pomoly STOVEHUT 70 version 3.0 👍. Thanks for watching the video! ATB
Which Pomoly tent is that? Any leaks in the rain? I’ve heard stories 😉
I have heard and even seen videos on UA-cam of the leaking problems in older versions 👍. This is the Stovehut 70 version 3.0. I can report no leaks so far. And it rained really heavy throughout the night into the morning. All the seams look really well taped and there is even a waterproof zipper on stove cover which I thought was really nice touch. I was a bit concerned as well until I got the tent in hand. I’ve only camped in it once in the rain so time will tell, but I’m happy with it so far 👍. Hope that helps! Really appreciate you taking the time to comment! ATB
Did they fix the licking water problem? Cause im about to buy one and I want to know if they have fix that problem
The seams are all taped and and I have not experienced any leaks in mine yet 👍
Pick up some elephant poles. That's what I use. Packing up stinks. 😊
I will look into them 👍
