    On my stove the pipe, a soda can fits , I just poked a bunch of holes, cut of the tab top of can, put on pipe...works perfectly to keep sparks and ash Iin not burning tent....and rain or snow doesn't come down the pipe causing fire to snap and pop.

    For frozen ground, take a steel starter stake that is large enough to put in a pilot hole. Then use your more fragile stakes in the pilot hole.

    Great video. This tent is a blast to setup if your into working with your surroundings. You can hike this tent up for standing room and use other tarps to change out the shape or bank draft if your not making earth contact. I even run it off my SUV as an outdoor kitchen. I have no illusion about its build quality but if your good with repair this will last a fair while. That is, if you don't burn it down! A welders blanket might make a good cheap addition to that spark zone...I might get off my ass and do that myself.

    What a difference a year makes. I ordered a Tegiman last night, it'll be here tomorrow. Caught it on sale for $164./shipped.
    Thanks for this bid. I'll keep an eye out for potential issues.
    I'll be using a vintage cast iron wood stove and I'll try the side vent to keep spark damage at bay.
    This'll be more of a deer camp set-up in the Catskills for me so it'll be stationary for a good long while.
    For warm weather, I'm going to make two doors made of bug netting for some good cross ventilation.

    The original creator of this tent lone wolf 902 said it’s just a perfect weather tent not good for snow and the new one he made is much better. Check out the new design. I just got mine in the mail. It’s a bit heavy and cost just a little more but it is a great quality tent. This looks like the ugly sister compared to the new one. Letting everyone know so they support the original creator of this tent. The one this company cheated..

    I have a teepee tent which is a good solid hot tent, but wanted a smaller size for car camping. I got this onetigris because of size. Have a good hammock tent as well, but I don't sleep well in a hammock, I'll try a horizontal because need to lay on side, am a side sleeper. However... this tent my 6.2. Backpacking cot fits perfectly in the back side ways, I'm 511 so the width of tent is perfect for doing this leaves space for a table, a camp chair, your gear, it's spacious. There are all kinds of things you can bring to shield the wood stove. But I turn mine side ways like in this video and never had a issue of burning the tent. Use atleast one stick as pole where the stove goes... wind, you don't want wind to blow the tent material to the store. All the other sides is fine even it blows up like a balloon in the wind, it's good nothing to worry.

    All guys interested in doing hot tent camping. It's nice. However there are some concerns you should know about if you never done it. First thing you should do is burn in that wood stove outside like in your backyard, to burn off the manufacturing chemicals. Learn the size of wood you need.
    The most concerning thing is when your fire is going, at night, the chimney will glow red hot. You can't see it on video camera or bright daylight.
    The very first time I had used a tent stove, that scared me, put a lot of anxiety on me that I couldn't sleep, sat there and worrying. Since that first time, I've been hot tent camping tons. It is normal for the chimney to glow.

      @@AbundantAdventures I haven't seen a review mention if they can STAND UP in the tent or not. I just set mine up but I didn't tie off each end. I just used the one long cord they provided to string through the middle. So I need to retie it - as it is "Hanging" off that middle cord that is long and so slacks down. So better to just use two cords at the end and no "middle" cord maybe. I have two cords tied off at the end also but they seem to be competing with the middle cord that is long. hmm. The rain forest you experienced was from the heating source you chose. Those buddy heaters are great but unfortunately they create some pretty drastic condensation especially in smaller spaces. Need a good spark arrester , those holes would piss me off

    • @AbundantAdventures
      @AbundantAdventures  3 роки тому +1

      The wood stove is the wild wild west stove and it has a spark arrestor at the bottom of the pipe.
      I think it will be better once I'm using regular wood instead of the pallet wood and I especially won't be using the fat wood to start it again. My first night had no holes at all so I've gotta just use regular wood.

    I wonder how that thing would hold up in heavy snow and high winds; looks flimsy to me. And the roof angle is not steep; I bet snow would pool on it.

    • @AbundantAdventures
      @AbundantAdventures  3 роки тому

      Yeah, I think you'd have to hit the sides to shake the snow loose every once in awhile if it was a heavy snow fall.

    • @HandfulOfTranquility
      @HandfulOfTranquility Рік тому

      Part of the reason the roof angle was shallow is because he had the tent pitched quite a bit too low and wide. Raising the tent several inches and then bringing the sides just a bit closer together will make the roof section quite a bit steeper. Not sure if it would be steep enough for snow or not, though I intend to find out :)

    • @AbundantAdventures
      @AbundantAdventures  2 роки тому

      @@northeastwildernesswalker Well, in that particular case I learned not to use fat wood in those stoves, or if you do to only use shavings and not full sticks.
      But in general, those stoves will get that hot no matter what you do unless you don't want heat. The stainless steal stoves do a better but those lightweight titanium stoves just heat up super fast and get red hot and then cool off real quick as well.

    I stand with Lonewolf 902. OneTigris screwed him. I only ever purchased only one OneTigris product which was the 15° bag. I woke up looking like I was flogged by ducks with feathers sticking all over my clothes. Guess that's what I get for a Chinese company. Ended up going with the Klymit 0° Antero which is by far a more superior product.

    Good thing the tent was pitched tight with no wrinkles. That company is garbage. They screwed my buddy around on that design and he told them to basically get lost and they kept the design. That's why you have a long panel replaced beside their logo. They had to take my buddies logo off it and that's the only way they could do it. Lots of leak points.
