I've been a CZ fan ever since I bought my first CZ75 but I've loved the Shadow guns since I started seeing them and they are just downright impressive. I will have the Orange someday
The slowmo footage really shows how much the recoil of this gun is driven by the slide striking the frame at the rear end of the slide rail. All of the rearward momentum of the slide very quickly gets transferred to the frame. I would love to see side-by-side slomo footage of this gun and Sig Sauer’s competition-level pistol model being shot to see the difference in recoil from the slide’s rearward stoopage.
CZ75 SHADOW 2 IMO is the best Hammer fired steel frame pistol on the planet under $1500. Now they have Optics Ready model.
I think you'd like the CZ/Dan Wesson DWX. Love to see your review on that
@Earl Lee The P226 TACOPS and CZ75 SHADOW 2 are my Favorites. The DWX Compact I got to hold at gun show . Def gonna be picking up one for sure . It was the only handgun at SHOT I saw that peaked my curiosity. Cross between 1911 and Shadow 2 . What's not to like . I will probably wait for the 2nd Generation to get one Optics Ready Compact. The Full Size I'm hoping to have one by the end of the year .
You should try a Beretta 92x Performance. Neck and Neck.
Don't think you can find Shadow 2 Orange under $1,500. The closet price I saw to that number was $1,750. Normally they dictate price of $1,999 and up. I got a regular Shadow 2 (Blue) which I got it for $850 through Military/LE program. But S2 Orange usually costs twice as much.
@@SOBIsHobbies yea but there’s practically no difference between the blue and orange. The cheapest of the variants i believe is blue SAO with the 4.89 barrel length at $1300. It’s a masterpiece
@@SOBIsHobbies i't not worth it: but a regular shadow 2 & spend the "savings" on internal upgrades; no one has ever regreted getting a shadow 2 & the aftermarket is booming

the CZ-75 is still very much underrated in most shooting circles
No pistol has been copied more than the CZ 75
sean white yes, but many US shooters give you a dumbfounded look when you speak about it.
The weight is a valid complaint. Even with the standard model. Although once you get it on the range, it performs beautifully.
The Biggest Iron I’m speaking of the general design.
@@ryand.3858 dude, true, I enjoy modern firearms. They certainly have there place as tool but honestly my favorite guns are those pre civil war and pre turn of the century, 20th century that is. I enjoy them all but lever guns and revolvers are probably my favorite. Being in my early 20s its hard to find people my age who enjoy blackpowder.
I carried CZ-75’s all through the 90’s and 2000’s and I carry a P-07 and I have never felt under gunned. The P-09 is another excellent pistol.
yeah the P07 seems like an excellent option. I'm one of those Glock guys who openly admits that I'd choose anything else if it had to be stock lol.
I'm thrilled you happened upon the Shadow 2, imo it is the pinnacle of DA/SA handguns and a must try for anyone that loves shooting. Thanks Larry!
I love my CZ Shadow 2 Orange, it’s just supreme. I’m so glad Larry made a video about it, youtube kinda lacks this gun.
CZ Accu-S2 is simply awesome. My favorite range gun.
I have the Shadow 2(blue grips) and love it. The Orange you show here looks very nice indeed.
I don't own a gun, I've only shot BB guns in my life and there's no reason for me to acquire a gun but the presentation on display in every part of this series is fascinating. Always interested in what's new and what Larry has to say about every piece.

Great video, Larry. You should do more competition gun reviews. I want to hear how something truly refined for speed compares to something optimized for real world combat.

Hot damn!!! That was awesome! Never shot a CZ but I’ve heard really good things about it... may just have to get myself one. Next on my list for sure.
They're really really nice. I've only fired the P-09 and the Evo 3, but I thought the P-09 was easily as nice as the Glocks I've fired.
Id like to see some groupings.
This is the best video I have seen in a long time. It is my mission to find this gun.
Somebody at the range got a Shadow 2, several tried it and they all did excellent groups, first time, no adjustments. Try that with any handgun and at least a few will bungle it, but not the Shadow 2. Of course as a big CZ fan I couldn't be there and with the stay at home issue, not happened yet ... But I'm happy to see my favorite brand of guns is doing so well.
I hopped on the CZ train after a buddy let me shoot his 75 D PCR at the range. I bought one about a week later and carry it every day. Accurate, reliable and feels better in my hand than any other pistol I've ever handled.

Being an S2 owner, I’ve watched hundreds of videos on the gun. You’d think I’d be saturated by now. But man, your video rocks! Going to have to record a slow mo vid with my S2 next range session. Thanks for the idea! Subbed!
I shot a CZ p10c a few weeks ago and I was thoroughly impressed with that guns shooting. Solid groups right out of the gate with the first clip, i was impressed...
you found a clip loaded CZ p10C? I was under the impression all P10C's were magazine loaded

Instead of berating them and mocking them why don't you just educate them ? We have enough problems in our community without slamming another gun owner. This is why we're behind the anti gunners. You don't see them on different pages. They're always on the same page and that to pass new "gun control" laws as fast as they can ... Just sayin ' ... ✌🏻
I love this pistol, it's heavy but it soaks up all the recoil. I'm not a competitive shooter but totally get why they love this pistol.

I got to try a CZ Shadow at my local range a while back. I had shot pistols once or twice before, being exclusively a rifle/shotgun guy. I was very impressed with how easy it was to shoot well, putting all my rounds into a rough hole at a realistic distance (fairly close). I definitely found my new favourite if I were to get my restricted license (yeah, that's another story in itself).

Picked up one of these last week and it is truly an astounding pistol. Near zero muzzle flip, fantastic trigger and sights, plus the thing is built like a tank. Hate to say it, but it shoots better than my 1911s, and I've had some nice ones.
Me to sad to say I still love my 1911's but man I love shooting this gun I know its heavy but would love to have it on me if I ever needed it.
Great video, MSG Vickers. Have to ask, the mag on your bench appears to be very clearly stamped .40. Do you know something we don't? Like a .40 model either forthcoming or cancelled? Thanks and keep up the great work.

Mr.Vickers first off thank you for your servise to our country and for your vids. I have a question for you. I bought a bcm recce14 and I remeber watching one of your vids and on your rifle you had fixed sights instead of flip up. What brand sights were the?

I've had an older SP-01 for at least 10 years. Larry forgot to mention the outstanding reliability, durability and price. I've got other guns that are a lot more expensive that are generally regarded as being the pinnacle of accuracy. But the CZ is better, and it doesn't even have adjustable sights! It's never malfunctioned or jammed, not once.
About time you gave CZ credit...

Just looking at the slow mo, it looks like muzzle flip is maybe an inch with a std two hand hold. Thats crazy.
Larry do a video discussing manufacturers should focus on bringing a truly modern Westernized Russian AK design or look at bringing a Non-Russian like Valmet or your favorite a mil-spec East German AK.

The CZ SP 01 Tactical is like the poor man's version of the Shadow and is also a joy to shoot. Steel framed guns are great at the range, but the weight can be prohibitive for carry.

A good belt is the key!
That's exactly what I plan to be doing with my SP-01 Tactical. With a Surefire X300U-A, AND a Trijicon Type II LED RMR (after I send it to Cajun Gunworks for slide milling). A good belt *is* key. A good holster also will help. Hopefully the new Legacy Holster will be a good one.

Vickers!! Can you try to get a hand on the MPT-55 & MPT-76 to review? It's a fairly new Turkish infantry weapon. There is not much video's to find about while it's a pretty nice weapon which meets all the NATO tests.

I have both as well and after some work done by Cajun gun works my P09 is a better gun for the money.

I have been shooting Shadow 2's for years. Have thousands of rounds through them. When I finally decided to buy my own, it was the Orange. This is a forever gun. I absolutely love everything about this gun. With 147 gr bullets, it is a beast. I will take a tuned Shadow 2 over an overpriced Stacatto every time.
Love your videos keep up the good work. Would like to see more .308 rifles covered in the channel.

I like your channel. But I have one question..I onw this gun. I love this gun. Can you tell me why you hold the trigger back after firing to utilize the phenomenal reset and then take your finger completely off of the trigger? Not criticizing, just wondering why.

Hi Larry, FYI the frame and slide are also hand fit at the factory and tighter than a regular Shadow2.
The Shadow2 Orange model is now on the USPSA Production and Carry Optics Approved list. Great video!

No difference in slide fit between the S2 and the Orange model. The only difference is the barrel bushing, comp hammer, lighter mainspring and slightly longer firing pin, in addition to organs grips/mag release button. Get a clue.
Dacos127 of my three generic Shadow2’s I can swap slides and frames without issue. I can not drop my S2 Orange top end onto a standard S2 without machining material off the slide. Vice versa, I cannot drop my standard S2 top ends onto my S2 Orange (unless I’m willing to machine some material off). The slide to frame fit on my S2 Orange IS noticeably tighter than the fit on my 3 standard S2’s. This was further confirmed to me at Shot Show when I spoke with the CZ rep.
is it worth $500-600 extra over the blue?
I saw LAV winge a bit grabbing the pistol. Wasn't a 1911 or Glock. Great video per usual.
