  • Today we compare the new Springfield Prodigy to the tried and true CZ shadow 2. That CZ shadow series is a crowd favorite in the competition scene, and with a price point similar to the Prodigy, is it worth choosing one over the other?

    I have a Shadow 2, my brother has a 4.25 Prodigy. We both like the recoil feel on the prodigy more, it just feels softer. But we're both able to shoot the Shadow faster, and more accurately. Both great guns, but they fill very different roles.

      @@iamnotarealboyYeah I love CZ, they are very high quality guns man but I really want a 2011 and don’t want to put a mortgage on my house just to get one. So I’m going to go for the Prodigy cause I don’t plan on competing in my life but do plan to carry it and train with it and upgrade it along the way. I just love the old school 1911 style man. It’s a timeless classic. Once I get a little more financially stable I plan on getting a CZ and a couple other dream guns. That’s the plan anyway. Thanks for the advice brother!

    Kind of a strange comparision. S2 was built as a comp. gun, the Prodigy is a budget 2011 carry gun. Nobody carries a S2. Nobody cares about offhand shots at steel @ 50, 75 and 100 yards. You're the variable, not the gun. Those guns are more accurate than you are.

Definitely tried hard at being that guy but his daddy would buy him EVERYTHING! He got him a newer diesel work truck with Reading service truck boxes on it and also gave him another diesel truck cause he didn’t have his own vehicle, he had to use his wife’s car. Lmao. Dude was something else and I still have to deal with him occasionally cause he’s my older brother’s “friend”. Pretty much just someone he’s known since high school, my brother don’t mess with him much cause he’s a goofball all the time and does goofy shit like carry a full size pistol on his appendix! He’s not a terrible person, he does take care of his family and stuff but he just does weird shit all the time. Last time I shot with him he literally went prone shooting that same shadow. Hahaha! Prodigy isn't a competition gun. If someone was going to run it in comps they would have it tuned. It doesn't coe tuned. It's a USA made gun at a 2011 budget price.
    Comparing CZ shadow to 2011 is like comparing a tuned cast 1911Rock Island to a stock TRP. Yeah it will do well in this scenario, but it would still not be a valid comparison. Nobody runs a stock prodigy from the factory at competition. The cz is a cheap competition gun that CZ sets up for competition from the factory with certain classes in mind with it's weight and capacity.

    • @DavidJosephBoth
      @DavidJosephBoth 9 місяців тому +1

      Vid seemed bias from the go btw. And I own neither.
      The fact that prodigy is even being compared is impressive considering it did come as a budget 2011 with mim internals and not set up for competition like the CZ is 100% set up for.

    • @sirhackman666
      @sirhackman666 3 місяці тому

      Exactly, it’s a budget gun for people who want a 2011 but don’t want to take a loan from the bank to get one! I want a Prodigy because I want a 1911 frame but with more capacity and that’s it. I don’t ever plan to use it competitively at all. Obviously a gun set up for people just starting in competition without spending thousands from the factory would do better in comparison and yeah this guy might as well just started the video with “I love CZ and all other guns aren’t shit, so this new 2011 is also shit. Hit that subscribe button for my next review!”.

    Everyone is entitled to operate their pistol how they see fit but hitting the slide release takes about 50 to 60 percent off the time of a manual slide cycle reload so I just don't get guys still going over the top like that, makes zero sense and listen, miss me with the "that's the way you're supposed to do it", that's fud lore, let's just do what works best fellas okay?

    • @abowens777
      @abowens777 Рік тому +1

      I concur. You lose significant time by manually operating the slide like that. Not just in the operation of the slide vs hitting the slide release, but it adds a whole step that interrupts and delays sight acquisition.

    • @wilf6384
      @wilf6384 Рік тому +2

      @@abowens777 I couldn't agree more brother. The slide release is intuitive and what's interesting is some of the same guys that state it's a slide "catch" only, will be the first guys to tell you it's too far forward or set too far back to use as a release, doesn't make any sense if you're going over the top, what do you care where it is? LOL. Thanks for your common sense comment my friend, God bless.

    • @sirhackman666
      @sirhackman666 3 місяці тому +1

      Yeah I’ve never understood that either and all these UA-cam shooters swear by it, talking about miss feeds and so on and how it could get you killed in a defensive scenario but I’ve never had a miss feed from a slide release. That’s like saying every time you reload an AR you need to use the charging handle because it’s the wrong way. It’s called a slide release for a reason people!
