    About this Video:
    In this video I share my first look at the CZ Shadow 2 Orange and the Shadow Blue for an accuracy comparison. I take them both down to the range and shoot 30 rnds each from them with 3 different types of ammo at 25m. This gives a likely outcome due to the Shadow 2 Orange having a hand fitted barrel to slide. I end up shooting some very tidy groups with the new orange and some not so bad ones with the shadow 2 blue. The Shadow 2 Orange just outperforms the Shadow 2 blue with my match ammo and my practice ammo, which are very accurate rnds for 9mm over 25m. Thanks for watching AzzaTac Talk Show Episode 9 CZ Shadow 2 Orange vs Blue Accuracy. Tune in next time for the nest Episode of Azzatac talk show.

    Big difference in your time taken to shoot with the orange , also the blue shot consistently high giving the impression that it may not be sighted in correctly . The orange is supposedly more accurate out of the box but can’t really agree that this was a accurate comparison between the 2 remembering this is only my opinion for what it’s worth . I have just purchased a blue and look forward to shooting it . Being an average shooter as far as accuracy I am hoping I can improve it a little . Thanks for taking the time to make this video .

    The Blue Bullets truncated 147 gr. Felt recoil is low with 130 PF. Good all around bullet for paper or steel.
    Enjoying the comparisons with the two models. I believe the Accuracy all comes down to lock up with the barrel and slide and the tolerance with the bushing.

    Mine shot well, my groupings were better than a Sig and Walther PPQ. But I don't like the top slide. It's not tall enough, not much grooves to help with grip, and it's hard to rack it back. Thank you for making this comparison, especially that there's a huge price difference.

    • @azzatac9763
      @azzatac9763  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks for your comment Paul O. I found the same with my slide. I put a lighter recoil spring in it (10lbs) and it is heaps better to rack. The price difference makes it not really worth it if you are just shooting IPSC. If you are shooting matches that require you shoot over 50m I think it would be worth it. What discipline are u shooting with yours?

    Thanks for this comparison video; I've been curious as to what I'm missing with my Shadow 2 (Black).
    There are not much content out there where shooters actually bench or try to minimize the human element to test a gun's accuracy. I am happy to see you also shoot 10 round groups and then just account for the occasional flyer.
    My Shadow shoots 125 grain best (Hornady HAP, LOS, or really any decent hollow point). With Power Pistol, 5 shot groups will consistently group (benched) at 1.5 inches at 25 yards (with the occasional 1 inch group), but 115s and 147s are fine too. The Shadow seems to be just a hair less accurate than a comparable 1911 9mm, but that still beats 98% of the other guns out there.

    • @azzatac9763
      @azzatac9763  3 роки тому

      Thanks again for your comments AC. I think my Shadow 2 Blue is only a little bit less accurate than the orange. A comparison like this is hard to do. I aim to do more at some different distances. Honestly you are not missing out on much over 25m. I think 50m is where I will see the most difference. 115 HAP is a really good projectile and works well with all my pistols but they are quite expensive.

    Off topic but watching a few of your cz videos as a new shooter in Aus... I should get the single action blue over double action? Bit confused why so many for sale are DA maybe I'm missing something in the competition rules

    • @azzatac9763
      @azzatac9763  2 роки тому +1

      G'day mate. The simple answer is that they are meant to be DA. They have been modified to be single action.
      To give you some clarity on the the rules. If it is DA it will be able to be shot in Production and Stadard. If it is SA only you can only shoot it in Standard same as a CZ TS2. This is not the preferred Pistol for standard as 2011 chambered in 357 sig is what the top guys are shooting Standard division. Hope this helps mate let me know if you have any other questions? G'Day from WA mate ;) I have just purchased a Shadow 2 Orange (still waiting for it to get here...) and am already looking for any possible improvements/accessories I can get. I really like thumb rests TS models have (I imagine it would help with recoil control too), would that make gun illegible for Production Division in IPSC? Also do you use progressive press for reloading and if so what model?

      First improvement would be to upgrade the springs Check out my product! www.azzatac.com/product-page/eemann-tech-upgrade-kit-for-cz-shadow-2
      Link to my store for the spring kit I use.
      The thumb rest would put the Pistol in standard. But it would help with recoil control, however I use armanov grips to help with that they are also available at my store. Two more things I would do is mags and mag bases and a reduced mag release spring. Unfortunately I don't have mags for sale, but the best ones to get are metgar or tanfoglio and I have bases for both.

The shadow seems to fit the bill. The bullseye shooting was why I was wondering about the orange moreso. In reality the blue will outshoot me but there's not much info on the two other than your video and a few threads so didn't want to buy twice and cry twice. Appreciate you making the video and shooting from a rested position to try and remove shooter skill from the equation, although I'd like to note for others that some shooter error did make its way into the video since you're flinching a bit on the trigger squeeze (check out 3:36 when the gun doesn't go off when the hammer drops, you can see the flinch perfectly there). Maybe some more dry fire training (and live fire with some dummy rounds in the mag) might help with this, but let's be real, even the best shooters sometimes flinch when shooting pistols, and it's a really difficult issue to try and eliminate completely. At least for me, I find that some days I don't flinch and can shoot great, and other days I'm flinching and pulling shots without noticing it. Just wanted to mention the issue since it does affect the quality of the results a bit and should be taken into account, but hope this doesn't come off as too nitpicky.

Also, when removing the barrel you need to wiggle it out of the slight due to the tight bushing. But for IPSC/USPSA it's not truly needed the Blue is plenty accurate enough... What makes the pistol is the shooter, not the gadgets or aftermarket stuff.... Does it help? Yes, is it needed?
