Introducing the pinnacle of car vs bike drag races - Porsche 918 Spyder vs Red Bull MotoGP bike!!
That’s right, we’ve finally got our hands on a 918 Spyder, and it’s going head-to-head over the quarter-mile against MotoGP legend Dani Pedrosa and a Red Bull KTM RC16 from the 2021 MotoGP season!
So let’s take a look at the stats - starting with the Porsche, it’s powered by a 4.6-litre naturally-aspirated V8, coupled with two electric motors, which combine to produce 887hp and 1,280Nm of torque! It’s equipped with all-wheel drive and tips the scales at 1,674kg.
But of course, the bike is oh-so-much lighter, with the bike and rider combining to weigh in at just 200kg! Its 1000cc engine can also put down 270hp.
So what do you think, will the bike walk it? Or will it be a photo finish? There’s only one way to find out - LET’S RACE!

To put things in perspective : 6th gear @ 40mph on a bike that is geared at 190kmh @ 1st gear beat a 918 Spyder at 2nd gear @ 40mph. This is some next level shit.

Afaik MotoGP bikes are geared with long 1-2-3 and short 4-5-6 - it's still impressive, but 4-5-6 are relatively close and short

its been done before, f1 cars will outcorner gp bikes but acceleration is faster on the bike provided there is a talented rider to keep it down.
with that said, todays modern f1 cars im not so sure, with DRS aswell it might be the difference with the reduced airflow over the wing.

This car is so unbelievably impressive. Could definitely do a 9.9 with just one driver in it. Anywhere from 70 to 90kg off is a lot of weight.

Wikipedia says it did 9.7 seconds. Fun fact is that even the fastest production motorbike for 1/4 miles did 9.47 seconds, the Kawasaki ZX-14R. :D
@@mateagoston8145 Motorbikes have that ridiculous power to weight ratio, and with a good rider that knows how to put the power down, it easily crushes the 10 second marks. The 918 Spyder power to weight isn't that impressive compared to motorbikes. It just has an amazing launch system.

When I read the MotoGP in title, I thought it's gonna be some test racer or stunt racer on the bike but holy WOW it's THE DANI PEDROSA - the legend himself. Good to see him again.

The balls it took to do the wave at 10:43 during the roll race at that speed… Goddamn there’s levels to these world class racers
I mean actually it's not so difficult to steer with one hand at speed, especially when going straight.
The braking was very ballsy, rear was lifted pretty much the whole time and when it touched the ground it slid around like mad.

It's not that bad. You can lift your hand off at 300 easily. The steering is pretty locked at those speeds. Just be careful of speed wobble recovery
actually the bike is way more stable at high speed, it's hard to turn the handlebar at that speed

Overestimating the power to weight of the bike and Pedrosa though, Dani with full gear and the bike with full fuel and fluids is more 215kg not 200kg but other than that yes he know stuff, however Mat launches his car better though.

And hell yes, a win for the bikes. Dani's light body and his massive experience with those prototype bikes got the job done. Even the braking contest was close. That's a true professional rider.

Moto GP bikes can do 0-300 kmph in 8-9 seconds even that KTM
F1 cars will do 0-300 kmph in 10 seconds
2015-2017 F1 cars were Fastest top speed over 370+ kmph and 0-300 kmph in 10 seconds
But still not as fast as moto GP bikes
Moto GP bikes were 5 seconds faster than Any F1 from 300-350 kmph

Yep, perhaps BMW might join next season though to re-badge the Suzuki bikes for a year while preparing for a full blown works outfit in 2024. That was what the sources said & a most possible move in case they are certain to join in 2024.
Above all the crews & the bikes of Suzuki would help them a lot in their own project if they grab this opportunity.
@@damarfadlan9251 MotoGP restirctions. And, it's quite normal that what we see on the web about the GP bikes is not true at all. Even all the info in it. It has been outdated.I've observed that maybe in 2014 or 15 when HRC Vice pres. Shuhei Nakamoto was asked by one journalist about the horsepower of their Gp bike. Nakamoto-san just look at the guy, said something & just smiled. I think they aren't allowed to say the actual number or stuff the new components inside the bike to make it more quicker.
Also, you see that bikes have more mapping, those are also affects its speed. There slow mapping there that allowed them to control the top speed in order to conserve the tires.

It's been 9 damn years and the 918 Spyder is still shredding, on the 1/4 mile or on the track, you don't wanna mess with this car!
One of the greatest, if not the greatest modern super-/hypercars in my opinion.
I love the 918, but would still rather have a carrera GT, even though I have a general dislike for almost all other Porsche cars(the 3rd and 4th exceptions are the GT3RS and GT2RS) ...
And I can't afford either, even at their original msrp 😂😂🤣

Danni braking that bike without abs was just a treat. That is the pinnacle of being at the top of your game. Anyone who has ridden sports bike with no abs and has had to emergency stop will know that feeling of the rear lifting.
It gets very very dodgy. He is a master!!
Even worse, when one is braking hard in an emergency situation and the front decides to start under-rotating! That's a horrible feeling!
Dani is very light and was never great on the brakes… put Rossi or Petrucci and they would beat the car.
For me the back doesn't lift but the front locks up.
or the feeling when emergency breaking with abs, when you feel it cut the brakes way too early because of a slight bump in the road and you know you could break much harder without abs

@@LeeXRV I think in the future, bikes will be my go to - bat shit crazy speed and great sound - while still being somewhat affordable. 30k euros gets you the most insane bikes while barely even coming into the range of sportier cars. Imagine what cars you'd have to buy to keep up with an R1 or your S1000RR and how much they'd cost. Gas mileage on bikes is okay as well imo.

Best drag you’ve done! Looked like everyone was having so much fun. That MotoGP bike is far more impressive (in the right hands) compared to the F1 equivalent.
Im a bike man jim and the moto gp bike is an absolute animal but the grip of an f1 car is insane with the aero and tyres. It definately takes more skill to pilot a moto gp bike though. Major balls to ride one of them to its maximum!

Exactly, Red Bull are always game especially the next MotoGP race will be at Silverstone. Red Bull & KTM bringing their year old GP bike in Carwow is already a good P. R.
Next time the Red Bull Gp bike goes there or the 2017 -18 F1 car get on the show, we hope Matt would be able to invite the Toyota Lmp1 or Porsche Lmp1 in the race along with a Bugatti Chiron Super Sport, Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut, SSC Tuatara, tuned Porsche turbo S 1600 HP, Nissan GTR 1600 HP & Rimac Nevera in case the owner would allow to lend it to Matt for this segment.

Now, with Rossi gone, Lorenzo gone, Stoner gone for so long, Pedrosa gone & even Marc out for the entire season. They are in deep shit. Good thing Red Bull is doing this.
I had the extreme pleasure to ride with Dani last year at Jerez. He is such a legend! This was a treat to watch. Hopefully more people checkout MotoGP - the bikes are *ferocious*!

Almost 300bhp and only 200kg including the rider is a ridiculous power to weight ratio! As a big Moto GP fan it was so good to see Dani on a bike again and looked so happy to be having fun. One of the nicest guys in the paddock along with Vale.

@@justinjake258 No, Lorenzo is always the best starter if you have seen the races in the past followed by Casey Stoner, Marc Marquez, A. Rins, Bradley Smith. I was wrong D. Pedrosa is in 6th. You have seen in this video that he didn't even get a good start at all. He was wheel spinning half of the quarter mile in one of the of the drag races they did.

MotoGP bikes are absolutely insane. Man, I love them. I forgot which track, but they did over 220mph this year.
They have been doing over 220 for quite some years now. 2021 record was held by KTM RC16, which is used in this video at 225.4mph, this year at mugello i think it got to 226 maybe
