Can a tuned Porsche 911 outrun a Formula 1 car and a Moto GP bike? You’re in the right place to find out!
Mat’s behind the wheel of a 991 generation Porsche 911 Turbo S for this race, and it’s been fettled by the folks at ES Motor. The engine has been fully built, upping the capacity from 3.8 litres to 4.2 litres, and it can put out 1,400hp to the wheels. However, it’s a touch damp out on the carwow runway today so it’s been reined in a bit to “just” 1,200hp.
Lining up next to the Porsche is Liam Lawson in the Red Bull RB8 Formula 1 car, the same one which took Sebastian Vettel to victory in the 2012 world championship. It’s powered by a 2.4-litre naturally-aspirated V8 with 800hp, which may seem like a massive deficit over the Porsche but it is significantly lighter than that car. It tips the scales at around 700kg, compared to around 1,700kg for the 911.
Finally then, let’s take a look at the two-wheeled offering. Taking the helm of the Red Bull KTM RC16 is none other than Dani Pedrosa. His bike has a 1,000CC V4 engine with 270hp, more than enough in a vehicle which weighs just 157kg and only has one wheel to put the power down.

See how he handled a season of DTM alongside Alex Albon. Almost a punishment season for the two of them. Liam got the title stolen from him. Red Bull put out a whole video series about it. Liam is the real deal, can achieve a high level very early on.

Whenever I watch the moto gp bike launch it reminds me of what skills that Dani has vs other normal bikers

I never fail to be amazed at how fast the GP bikes are in a straight line. And to think these guys do knee down turns on such a machine is mind blowing.

Yes they are and there are some es tuned 911 Turbos here in the USA that are pushing over 1850 horsepower, which would have beaten that F1 car... but not sure about the bike... and also there are some underground racing Huracans here which have anywhere between 2,500 to 4300 horsepower, depending on how much boost it's dialed up to and what kind of gas they are using, but if somebody had brought an underground racing 2500 or 3500hp huracan, it would have definitely beaten that bike no doubt..

When the last 9.6 sec 1/4 mile.. you know its a fast race
What amazes me most is that the stock 992 Turbo is does a 10.2s 1/4 mile, that's only 0.6 seconds slower than this 911 with twice the power.
Cause it’s a unprepared surface that is very dirty and has grass growing out of it etc, that makes big power cars very traction limited. You would see a huge difference at a drag track.
@@garyrayner6330 It actually pulls a 10.2 on this track, but what's different here is the damp, in the dry that tuned 911 would probably pull a 9.0.
@@SRS-GAMES - I'm not sure that Turbo is going half a second faster in the dry, the Turbo is far less traction restricted than the bike & F1 car.

Pedrosa stole the show and second came the sound of that V8! Third the skills of Liam in wet braking on slick tires. 911 was a monster but in this line up was the least impressive. Great video there!

a stock R1 bar a tied down front end or extended swing arm can beat this GP bike for fun over a quarter. Theres streched 2004 R1s with nothing but a 4" longer swing arm, some cans and a power commander doing 8sec on the button.
