Congratulations to Bachmann on the attention to detail they've achieved on this loco Sam. They were a common sight working the Cardiff Valleys in the early sixties. However, I still can't understand, why in this day and age, that they still can't produce a decent reliable motor. These locos are not purchased to be put on static show by most people. Another excellent review from you Sam....Thanks you....Bob
An absolute stunning locomotive the detail, the sheer pulling power, the reasonable price, Great job Bachmann. The 94xx is one of my favourite locomotives by the late era GWR superintendent Hawksworth. More to the point the 94xx was the first locomotive I bought (though produced by Lima models) which also makes it my favourite. Great review Sam. Certainly worth the money
Nice to see such a positive review for a Bachmann steam loco. Great review Sam with all details taken into consideration. Cheers mate. Keep up the good work.
What a beautiful model. I really didn't expect that from Backmann. It reminds me a lot of the GWR Pannier tank which I absolutely love. Great review, Sam 👍
This is a really fabulous model- glad you’ve picked one up and reviewed it! :) Also, great job conveying how heavy it feels- mine arrived yesterday, and the first time I picked it up it felt like it a solid, dense lump which weighs a tonne!
Great to see that Bachmann have upped their game! A second decent GWR release too. The metal chimney top is particularly exciting (come on Dapol on the Large Prairie!). Would definitely get one of these if it was appropriate to my layout!
Beautiful locomotive. I have a soft spot for this class, because my first locomotive that I got for my N gauge layout back in 2003 was a 94XX. Now that I've seen this, maybe I'll need a OO gauge version!

I have no complaints about the current RRP of £134.95: it's a lot of money, but you're getting what you pay for. And the discounted price of £120 represents very good value! Well done, Bachmann.
Amazing review on the Bachmann 94xx! This model looks fantastic with the amount of detail it has for a new locomotive along with the weight of this thing! It’s unfortunate that the glue marks let this model down, but other than that, he’s a smart looking locomotive! I’ll give this one a B.

My Locomotion-exclusive 9400 arrived yesterday on my Stateside doorstep. To borrow a phrase from your side of the pond: I'm gobsmacked. This model is exceptionally good so far! It looks incredible. Mine luckily has no obvious glue marks or wonky parts (shame B-mann's inconsistent QC bit you, they really, really need to work on that). The 9400 runs well on a loop of test track. I'll need to chip it before I can run it at my club, but so far it's looking like a winner in performance as well as looks.
Well, you did it Sam. The GWR 9400 is by far my favorite Pannier Tank and I have been teetering on whether to buy it or not due to price and bad experience with Bachmann models but your review was astounding. Hi Sam, another good review video. Lovely looking loco especially since I am a lover of "God's Wonderful Railway" and the panniers in particular. Pity about the blemishes and miss-fits you mentioned. Matt Slade bought one fitted with DCC sound, but had to send it back because it didn't run properly. He got another one and reviewed it, and it seemed to run properly. It seems that they don't all work properly. Regards Alan.
When I saw that you were reviewing this,I immediately clicked because the 94xxs are Good Shunters and awesome Bankers! also I forgot Bachmann was making one,I know that Lima and Graham Farish (before Graham Farish switched to N Gauge) made one in OO Gauge
Do any OO gauge models feature moving valve gear and connecting rods? I remember about a decade ago they experimented with moving valve gear in a top-end 1880s HO scale U.S. locomotive, and people were complaining it jammed up too easily. 24:18 You ask "What model railways have prototypical gradients and curves?" My answer: Mine will, assuming I'm able to make one. Nothing more than a 1:80 gradient or less than a 5th radius curve on the main line, or 1:40 and 3rd radius on branch lines. All said, it's a great model, just one tier below the Class 37 and MR 1P. Great review as always!
Not to my knowledge Steven, at least not between the frames. I've only ever seen that done in O gauge so far! Wow - that's very impressive - definitely not very common to see that though! Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Another great honest review . I would be ' Chuffed ' with this model . I always enjoy it when I see you have reviewed a model as you do a really well detailed overall of the model. Im into modern foreign models such as Roco and Piko etc etc and the detail on them also is stunning. I also purchased a ACME DB class 120 loco recently and had the same trouble with the sanders and life guards dragging along the rail heads and getting caught in the points on every axle .. Keep up the great reviews !
The speed was high, but they where used on a portion of an express train, running through Gloucestershire, it might have been a portion of the Cheltenham Flyer.
Hi Sam, great review. I was never going to buy another Bachmann, but had to buy Thomas, Annie and Clarabel for my little boy which is an awesome runner. Bachmann have failed to deliver full orders of the 94XX to my local shop, ll he was getting was DCC sound versions so I bought one. The model is brilliant and DCC sound is a revalation! Bachmann back to being great again? Detail and finish almost as good as Dapol Mogul which says a lot. Cheers Sam and keep up the good work. And oh, the finish on mine was spot on, unlike yours.
Ahh I don't blame you there! And that's a great pity - it seems Bachmann's production capacity is way down these days, a shame! :( Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Great video Sam! I loved the metallic shine on the chimney and the huge amount of daylight where the valve gear is! Very clever design! Shame about the quality but I think Bachmann are into a winner here and I’m certainly considering it! I love a good Pannier Tank! Hope you’re well and safe!
Amazing model, though I’m not a fan of GWR locomotives I have to admit this one is a stunner and if I had a chance I would consider it. Seems like Bachmann have discovered how to make a good model.
Nice to see Bachmann going up in the world with their steam locos as they have more than proved they know how to make a good diesel. A bit of quality control could have really done wonders for this as it might've actually been hot on the heels of their impressive 37. They could definitely be on to a winner with this standard provided they keep their quality in check.
#9402 was built at Swindon Works on April 12th, 1947 and saw service until September 1st, 1959 when it was withdrawn. It was cut up at Cashmore's Scrapyard in December 1960 at the age of 13.
Always liked the 9400. This one looks really good. I had a Lima one all plastic with a horrible mecanism though it didn't look too bad once well weathered. I think it's still packed away with the rest of my stuff and badly in need of a good replacement chassis. I also found an ancient Graham Farish all metal one on ebay shortly before we moved house (in 2013 😳🙄) and the layout was dismantled. As far as I remember, it looks good and is heavy but no idea what it runs like. As for the quality of assembly of the Bachmann one I guess they're manufactured in China by fairly low paid workers. I can't imagine the ladies in Margate letting stuff like that pass back in the day but that's progress for you and also why the price is reasonable. The guard iron sticking into points probably doesn't mean they don't test them before packing, it just means they only get tested on plain track so maybe there's a suggestion for Bachmann to put sets of points in the factory test tracks! I must admit over £100 for a loco still seems an awful lot but that's a sign I'm just getting old...
Thanks a lot Robin! All the best getting yours dug out - hopefully it'll be still running okay! Yes that's a good point on the guard irons actually! Thanks for watching, Sam :)
I had the mid-century die-cast version. Detail was...minimal... but weight was good! It needed 24 inch radius curves to reliably run. One of my favourite types of loco.
I've heard about those - but blimey, 24 inch radius - that's crazy!! Would it really not run well on anything below that?!? Thanks for watching, Sam :)
@@SamsTrains Yeah, all the wheels were flanged and didn't move much side to side and maybe were at the limits of gauge so on a curve it would jam enough to sometimes stop it. As a result I couldn't run it on my store display which I was running Bachmann's On30 on 18 inch radius. If I could find an O gauge 3-rail example I might actually by one for my Christmas level (providing it could handle O-27 curves). Cheers, Dan.
Hi Sam no not entirely convinced about the slow speed the Hornby j36 was a hole lot better never the less a nice loco and again a great review .Thanks Sam.
I've got the locomotion version, it's just so heavy!! I'll check mine over for the quality issues though. I certainly didn't notice any. Great review 👍
THAT is a sweet engine! I chuckle every time you try to justify the price you paid! 😂 Now I know why you have this channel- to help you afford your addiction. Great job! You are my go to on all things RR.
Looks a very nicely detailed model - shame about the glue marks. At your recommendation (some years ago) I this week bought a Hornby Merchant Navy (35030 'Elder Dempster Lines') as I was hauled by this engine in 1965 on the Bournemouth Belle. No glue marks, wonderful detail and paint, but the little accessories are very fiddly to fit. I notice that on my other Hornby Merchant Navy, the original '21C1 'Channel Packet,' these are already fitted. Keep the reviews coming!
Thanks a lot John - ahh sounds fantastic - glad to hear it was in good shape, and yes the accessories can be very fiddly indeed! Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Between this and the 1P, maybe Bachmann is finally taking note and upping the ante and pulling out the stops to make better steamers. Very sharp-looking engine and excellent review as always.
I'm really impressed with Bachmann recently. This model is fantastic, and the RRP is good too! Especially when you put it next to much smaller tank engines, like the Hattons P Class, or Hornby Peckett. Do you think Bachmann might be starting to get the hint on price? :P
Yeah me too Ben - they've really turned this around haven't they?! I hope they are getting the hint... although the newly announced version is much more expensive! :/ Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Hey Sam! I recently just got back into the hobby and thought I’d get a little advice. I own a Jinty with the electrical pickup coming from the center axle. It tends to stall on turnouts if it drops below 30 on my controller. My turnouts have insulated frogs, just for the record. Since this Pannier has all wheel pickups, would that mean it can go through any turnout (insulated or non insulated) at slow speeds without stalling? I’d like to run a consist at more realistic speeds but my Jinty can only do so when it’s not going over turnouts. Hope to hear from you soon. Love your videos! Take care, mate!
Lovely! I have to say that one of the reasons my layout is British and not Swedish is that even a basic Märklin loco is way more expensive than any top line Bachmann or Hornby 😜
If you are going to plan a Q&A or something similar, then I got a nice question for you Sam: What is the most fragile locomotive you ever had? Or similar: What train had the most fragile parts on it were the parts broke off the easyest? Also just a regular question for you Sam: Do Bachmann and Hornby produce their locomotives in China too? Because piko does. Its of course cheaper to make then assembeling it in England. It's a big shame that it doesn't happen nowaday's...
I bought the br black one of this 94XX with sound fitted as I struggled to find a 8 pin decoder to fit my other pannier 87XX due to space. However i dont think it would of been a issue with this loco, also i didn’t realise it had firebox glow till i was playing with the function buttons, so please with this model from bachmann great slow runner which is great for my layout which is mainly a shunting layout.
Like many others Sam I couldn't quite commit to buying one - until your review. Thanks for recommending Model Railways Direct - purchased with a smile. Thanks very much. 😇
@@SamsTrains For prospective purchasers, like myself, your list has real value. It would be great if you posted it and then added a link to it in your summary on every video!
I like the 9400 class. As you said it looks beefy 💪. Even the handrails are chunky: I thought at first they were a bit overscale, but after watching the video of you riding behind the real thing they're just that big! Tempting.
@@SamsTrains Annnddd... I just purchased the Locomotion exclusive 9400! It will be my first OO UK model - I have some N gauge UK models. I can't wait for it to arrive here in the States!
Great review of one of my favourite variations of pannier. I agree the detailing paintwork and weight are top notch (aside from the few niggles mentioned). I'm not sure going coreless was the right move - but likely done to allow prototypical daylight under the boiler. I've just converted a Lima 94xx body with a Bachmann Collett 0-6-0 chassis for a budget (£60) 94xx as I can't justify the cost of the new release.
Hi Sam. I do love the 94xx class and so I was eager to see if it lived up to my hopes. And it does seem to from what you have said. Shame about the glitches but as you say, they aren’t major ones that you can’t put right yourself. 🙂 I wanted to get a BR outline one to pull some coal wagons and I was annoyed a bit about the gearing, but in fairness it seems to pull perfectly well anyway, so I think I might take a punt 🤔 Or at least I will do...I am on a self-imposed embargo in the meantime until we have moved house! 😄 Cheers mate, have a good week! 🍀
Hi Sam, have you ever thought of doing a video on how to wire up your turntable so it can be worked with the flick of a switch (or, if not, using it more in your videos)? I'm tempted to buy one but am put off as it looks potentially tricky to do.
I would LOVE to see a Picture in Picture of the controller when you are doing the slow speed tests. When it’s crawling we’re left to guess what you’re doing to the controls. Did it stop because you tried slowing it down or is it an engine problem. Know what I mean? Thx!
"i got exactly what i payed for", if Sam is ever going to do another one of those videos where he laughs at things he says too much that needs to be there. (i remember the sort of locomotive kit that was just assorted leftovers, being pretty much just a parody of usual review - an excellent idea *chef excellence appears*) Weight alone might not mean everything but it is decent starting point for good traction, as was explained by this channel before. Oh my god an actual copper chimney top! I mean Sam was talking about this in nigh every video, as it seems to be excessively rare - glad they managed to FINALLY do this for him and yes only him XD
I always admired the design of the pannier tanks since they were designed to haul heavier loads of freight and passenger trains on the branchline services. What's the difference between this design and the earlier design of pannier tanks?
Me too Kenneth - admirable designs indeed! This was just the latest iteration of the design - presumably it was designed to be that much more efficient and powerful!" Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Just one thing Sam. Most impressive to look at. With that small motor and high gearing, has it enough power for the wheels to slip if the loco is prevented from moving, ie too heavy train or possibly stuck at the buffers?
Hi Sam did you know that the Hawksworth 1500 class is in production i don't know what model brand is producing it but I would love to have one especially if there is a 1501 in production because the real 1501 is based at the Severn Valley Railway and its in BR Black
@@SamsTrains I plan to get one for my 17th Which is Quite some time away so I'll have to wait Until then and i also plan to get the LNER Hush Hush the first version
I have a reccomendation for another bachmann engine, the ON30 1890s inside frame 4-4-0. its not a massive engine but mine (which is the version with extra lining) is amazing in detail and is also quite hefty
I have the BR Black early crest of this model, and I've ha dno issues with it. Still got the guards on the front of the engine. And it seems to be that with these bigger and longer tanks, it's the wheelbase that makes them "slog" round tight curves, never had an issue with the hearing being almost a one to one ratio. A fly wheel would be nice, but the fact the motor is really good, a flywheel would t make a significant difference
Great to hear that Matthew - I've refitted mine too now, so it's all good! Yes you could be right - they certainly do have a pretty large wheelbase! Thanks for watching, Sam :)
@@SamsTrains yeah, usually wheelbase is an issue on tight curves on tanks. Quality of mine was superb, I think you might of had a first production batch, as I cnst fin and sort of glue marks or detail broken or hung off. Usually I find those on Hornby locomotives
I really like the look of Bachmann pannier tanks I've always been put off by the performance from the panniers back in 2011 as the slow speed was non-existent. But seeing how finely detailed and polished this loco is... Certainly worth the wait!!! A shame about the quality defects though. Hopefully this is not a running theme with them.
If bachmann can get their build quality issues addressed and continue to produce models to this level of detail, they will gain a lot of respect and I suspect a lot more customers too!

That's fair enough - even so, that speed was above and beyond! ;D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Always liked those tank engines, I should get one myself, personally my favourite Livery of most engines is early BR, either green or black
Thank you! I'd highly recommend these overall! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Thanks a lot Harry - me too - just a great looker isn't it? I agree - definitely much better than I expected! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Amazing model, though I’m not a fan of GWR locomotives I have to admit this one is a stunner and if I had a chance I would consider it. Seems like Bachmann have discovered how to make a good model.
Thanks a lot James, glad you thought so too! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
I agree with you - quality control was lacking, but a huge improvement from normal!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
I was hoping you'd review this one. My first-ever British model was the old Lima version of this. Still have it, but now I'm thinking of an upgrade...
Thanks Matthew - ahh fantastic - I'd definitely recommend this! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Great Video Sam And That's An Awesome Pannier Tank Engine Pal
Thanks Jacob, really glad you liked it! :D

#9402 was built at Swindon Works on April 12th, 1947 and saw service until September 1st, 1959 when it was withdrawn. It was cut up at Cashmore's Scrapyard in December 1960 at the age of 13.
Duly noted Vincent, many thanks for the info! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Wow, excellent review of the GWR 9400 Class Pannier from Bachmann Sam.
I have a choice between the one that you got or one of the BR black versions.
Thanks a lot Joe - ooh tricky, I'd hate to make that choice!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Nice review sam, a bit surprised with the glue marks and general running issues, beautiful loco just the same at that money would buy one myself 👍
Thanks Ciaran - yeah me too - but at least they're a bit more forgivable at that price!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Might have to get myself one of these, don't usually model after the 30s but will have to make an exception for this!
The loco you saw on the south devon railway is now on ecclsbourne valley railway. I have been in its cab and I now really like the class!
Ahh cool - and lucky you being inside the cab!! :D
Cheers, Dan.
awesome review Sam can't wait for even more model reviews!
Thanks so much - lots more to come!! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Absolutely Speechless🤯 It's not perfect but it's near it.
You're right Jason - pretty darn near it!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Hi Sam no not entirely convinced about the slow speed the Hornby j36 was a hole lot better never the less a nice loco and again a great review .Thanks Sam.
Yeah you're right Tony - it's not on the same level as the J36!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
I've got the locomotion version, it's just so heavy!! I'll check mine over for the quality issues though. I certainly didn't notice any. Great review 👍
Ahh fantastic - yeah the weight is awesome! Good luck - hopefully you won't find any!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
@@SamsTrains , I didn't find any imperfections on mine. It's a shame they aren't all in perfect condition though.
Bachmann seem to be getting a grip and upping their quality
They certainly are! Some way to go yet, but they're definitely getting there!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
THAT is a sweet engine! I chuckle every time you try to justify the price you paid! 😂 Now I know why you have this channel- to help you afford your addiction. Great job! You are my go to on all things RR.
haha thanks Woody, I do my best! ;D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
I really hope they are - it certainly looks like they listened with these!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Thank you Sam for another amazing review. What is your favourite class of steam engine. Mine is the Merchant Navy Class or the Lord Nelson class
Thanks Matthew - great choice - mine is either that or the C1 Atlantic! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Quick question. Do you ever plan to see the Gresley A4 Union of South Africa at the east Lancashire railway?
Maybe some day Liam - I'd love that! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Lovely! I have to say that one of the reasons my layout is British and not Swedish is that even a basic Märklin loco is way more expensive than any top line Bachmann or Hornby 😜
Yeah I don't blame you mate - the prices are pretty crazy sometimes!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Great review Sam I thought you might have got one of these it looks great
Thanks a lot David - yeah I couldn't resist - and they do look grand! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
It's a big shame that it doesn't happen nowaday's...
haha that's a very good question Arthur, I'll have to think about that!!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Thanks a lot for sharing - yes the glow is an amazing feature! Glad you're pleased with yours!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Like many others Sam I couldn't quite commit to buying one - until your review. Thanks for recommending Model Railways Direct - purchased with a smile. Thanks very much. 😇
That's great to hear, thanks so much for your confidence mate!!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Great reviews! Enjoy every one. Is your full rankings list available anywhere?
Thanks a lot Steve! They aren't unfortunately, though I'm thinking about making them available soon!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
@@SamsTrains For prospective purchasers, like myself, your list has real value. It would be great if you posted it and then added a link to it in your summary on every video!
Are you going to get the Hornby 6 wheel and 4 wheel coaches? As I am waiting on your review before buying or not buying any of them.
I hope so - will be really interesting to see how they turn out!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
I like the 9400 class. As you said it looks beefy 💪. Even the handrails are chunky: I thought at first they were a bit overscale, but after watching the video of you riding behind the real thing they're just that big! Tempting.
Thanks Sharky - haha yeah, they really are mighty in real life too... I had forgotten just how much so though!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Thanks very much Steve - yep not perfect but fantastic overall! That sounds great though - cool little project!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
hey Sam, here in the US there's no such thing as "detail bags" everything's pre-fitted weather you like it or not!
Yeah i heard that too - pretty interesting! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
I love the great western railway and I love your reviews
Thanks so much mate, that's lovely to hear! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Cheers mate, have a good week! 🍀
Me to Tim - that's great to hear! haha sounds good - reckon you'll have to get one eventually, it's inevitable! ;D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Hi Sam, have you ever thought of doing a video on how to wire up your turntable so it can be worked with the flick of a switch (or, if not, using it more in your videos)? I'm tempted to buy one but am put off as it looks potentially tricky to do.
That's an interesting idea - mine's just hooked up to a controller, and that works fine! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
@@SamsTrains Thanks for the reply! Looks like I was overthinking it.
That model looks awesome! I did some calculations and found that it's scale weight is 123 tonnes- over twice its actual weight!
I would LOVE to see a Picture in Picture of the controller when you are doing the slow speed tests. When it’s crawling we’re left to guess what you’re doing to the controls. Did it stop because you tried slowing it down or is it an engine problem. Know what I mean? Thx!
That's a good idea - I could try that maybe! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
"i got exactly what i payed for",
if Sam is ever going to do another one of those videos where he laughs at things he says too much that needs to be there. (i remember the sort of locomotive kit that was just assorted leftovers, being pretty much just a parody of usual review - an excellent idea *chef excellence appears*)
Weight alone might not mean everything but it is decent starting point for good traction, as was explained by this channel before.
Oh my god an actual copper chimney top! I mean Sam was talking about this in nigh every video, as it seems to be excessively rare - glad they managed to FINALLY do this for him and yes only him XD
haha did I say that a lot this time?! Absolutely, the weight was fantastic to see, great quality overall!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
I always admired the design of the pannier tanks since they were designed to haul heavier loads of freight and passenger trains on the branchline services. What's the difference between this design and the earlier design of pannier tanks?
Me too Kenneth - admirable designs indeed! This was just the latest iteration of the design - presumably it was designed to be that much more efficient and powerful!"
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Great loco and amazing review !!
The odd loco out has to be the standard 4mt on the siding.
Will you be reviewing the J27 by oxford?
Thanks so much Shiny, and well spotted! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
I happened to come across the fact that the LSWR liveried T9 has come into stock. Review soon?
Maybe! If the wallet allows it! ;D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Just one thing Sam. Most impressive to look at. With that small motor and high gearing, has it enough power for the wheels to slip if the loco is prevented from moving, ie too heavy train or possibly stuck at the buffers?
That's a good question Andrew, I didn't test this - I'd expect so though!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
You upload a 9400 on the same day I got a 2251 which was just the tender version of the 9400
haha awesome Luke - how is your 9400? :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
It reminds me of Duck. Nice loco! It's hard to imagine that Bachmann can get it right all the time, but a few good ones can slip through. Nice video!
Thanks mate, yep - this was certainly one of those good ones! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
That's because Duck was based on the GWR 5700 class, the 9400 was the final evolution of that family of GWR panniers.
Just wondering where this sits in the review list ? Is it higher or lower than the centenary peckett ?
Sorry - can't believe that got missed out! It's 3rd, above the LMS 10,000, below the Peckett!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
@@SamsTrains cheers Sam, great video as always
Hi Sam what is your most powerful locomotive?
Probably the Vitrains class 37! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
@@SamsTrains Very Interesting I Quite like the Class 37
A very unique GWR tank engine indeed. Glad there are still two left. One of them is in the Steam Museum in Swindon.
Absolutely Tomas, me too - glad they weren't all scrapped!

Hi from South Africa my dad has this train but the Lima train version of this train love your video's
Ahh awesome - I've heard a lot about the Lima one, never tried it though!
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
after your review debated weather to buy one of these but mine is a great loco and runs well at slow speed and no faults with the detail.
Great to hear that - yes overall I was very pleased with mine too!! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Hi Sam did you know that the Hawksworth 1500 class is in production i don't know what model brand is producing it but I would love to have one especially if there is a 1501 in production because the real 1501 is based at the Severn Valley Railway and its in BR Black
Sure! It's Rapido - they should be really good! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Thanks a lot for this - I'd love to try some ON30 one day! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Hi Sam,I had my reservations about this, But it turned out not to bad , Looks quite nice , Good Review , All the Best Brian 🤗
Thanks Brian - yeah overall I can give this a thumbs up! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
If you ask me, a pannier with a smokebox that reaches further than the 57xx looks pretty weird, but that aside to looks pretty nice
haha you're right, it is pretty strange looking! ;D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
Me too Charlie - yeah their other panniers have terrible mechanisms - fortunately these are much better!! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
@@SamsTrains do you know if the newer 5700 / 8750 panniers have the same mechanism?
Hello Sam! Quick question, exactly how many engines do you have? I have 9, but i crave for more, but, i wanna know how much you have, could you tell?
Hey! I'm not too sure exactly, but it's over 400 now! :O
9 is loads though - which ones do you have?! :D
Thanks for watching, Sam :)
@@SamsTrains i have american locos, i know i have 1 hornby, 6 bachmann, and 2 model power
If bachmann can get their build quality issues addressed and continue to produce models to this level of detail, they will gain a lot of respect and I suspect a lot more customers too!
Yeah you're right - I agree with that 100%!
