@@Themanwhocameback2 Great movie great soundtrack. And I would have to agree with you, "I need you" is a better song than "Help." To be honest "Ticket to Ride" and "You've got to hide your love away are better than "Help."
I just read his obituary. He died from an overdose of DRUGS, that brought on a massive heart attack. verdict 'Accidental Death' , bloody hell--what a way to go.
There were, I believe, thirteen cameras filming all the time, so what you rightly lament is probably the editor's choice. In the same vein I am sorry we see no closeup of Klaus Voorman (George's oldest friend, save for Paul) who was on bass for two songs towards the end (and was not acknowledged by Clapton, either).
This was one of my favourite songs when I got the Help album as a 13-year-old in 1988. The few Beatles fans I had among my friends said this song was bs. I later heard other musicians saying Help would have been a better album without "I need you" and "Its only love"??? I dont get it?? How and why?
Ikr good old tom, probably understood george better than any of the beatles themselves, George always looked his happiest when he was with him and the wilburys
Last year I sang every Beatles song at karaoke and my surprise favorites were both this and "You Like Me Too Much" from the Help! album, And both written by George.
I feel such emotion in Tom’s performance of this beautiful song. You constantly see Tom looking up, as if to Heaven, in thoughts of...’I really miss you man, I still need you in my life’. I don’t know how Tom got through this song, but he did, in reverence to his Dear Dear friend...
One of my favorites by George Harrison sung by another favorite, Tom Petty. I saw Tom in Austin about 6 months before he passed and I can honestly say one of the best concerts ever!
I totally agree. This sweet, understated song is done to perfection by baby Beatle Tom. He adds a warmth and tenderness that takes it to another level.
Beautifully done. Only people like Tom Petty have the musical sensibility and finesse to play pretty, tasteful rock songs like this. So sad that George and Tom are both gone now.
😢 so emotional and I am watching this in 2022! WOW Toms eyes were just sad( you can feel his sadness when he looks up ) & he did such an amazing job! What a huge loss - both of them - but I have to admit I miss Tom a little more!! I loved how someone in the comments called Tom the baby Beatle 💕 I hope they are some where playing in peace.
These songs took on such a different meaning at this show. Watching Tom looking up and singing "Please remember how I feel about you. I could never really live without you," that really hit me hard.
What an awesome rendition of one of George's signature songs. These musicians and song writers represent the best of rock & roll and it's sad to see them passing on.

I think it's very nice that there was a huge tribute concert for George. I can tell that a lot of people loved him and he had a huge influence on the world.
I love this song and I love that Tom played it so close to the original! Awesome! Thank you Tom Petty and your wonderful band for giving us such great music! Such talent!
Such class, to pay tribute to someone he obviously respected with a rendition of one of his best, but most overlooked, songs. Pure class and talent. RIP

I love the great comments here but I also wanted to point out that Paul and George’s voices blended so perfectly well during the Beatles when many people thought that it was Always John and Paul..God Bless All Of You ..
My beloved uncle passed away 2 years ago from prostate cancer 😢 Few weeks after he died, I used to play this song along with Across the Universe and All Things Must Pass. Even though he loved me a lot, I started to value his love and charm in his last days 😢😭💔 Before he started to get ill, I was an immature teenager. Refused to empathize with him. But now that he's gone, I can tell you wisely to love the ones that love you too ❤ No matter how they show you their love, please love them 🥹🙏🏻🤗✨ Blessings to you all. God bless you in heaven, uncle May 🙏🏻✨❤️
So sad that now Tom Petty is gone too. Hear he sings about his friend George and now they're both gone. I have this on the DVD box set and watch it all the time especially this month of November.
First time I’ve heard this song and surprised I don’t know it as I’m in my late 60s and grew up with the Beatles and Tom Petty. Great song. Lots of emotions in it from the great one singing it and from what I’m reading in comments it was a George Harrison song. It’s like Tom Petty is singing to George in this and always looking up like he’s looking up,to heaven. Thanks for the memories RIP Tom Petty ❤️
GREAT PERFORMANCE......thanks TOM PETTY.......today in heaven play this song with GEORGE ,ROY ORBISON and BILLY PRESTON too.....Happy birthday MY SWEET GEORGE
A wonderful cover of one of George's best, most underrated songs. A real beauty. I have tears in my eyes. And the UK version of 'Help!' is also one of the best, most underrated Beatles albums. Side one, in particular, is every bit as good as side two of 'Abbey Road'.

A George Harrison classic that doesn't get the recognition it deserves.
It was on the HELP soundtrack, but was never a single. I think it's better than Lennon's title song.

The best ever Beatles cover by a mile
I recently met Tom's former lighting guy who said Tom was the best to work with. Wish I had seen him in concert.

I doubt even Tom would agree with that, we all love George "emotionally perfect"? haha

There's a lovely melancholy to many of George's songs - including this one.
All the more-so, as it was written /recorded by George, as a message to his former wife, in his repsonse to to their marrital break-up
