Fun fact: when Roy Orbison came to my hometown on tour, my grandmother was young then and rushed the stage. Security caught her, and instead of kicking her out, Roy Orbison signed an autograph for her and was super nice. She still has the signed picture decades later. Thank you, Roy Orbison, for being nice to my crazy fan girl grandma. ❤️
What a pretty fan girl

@SwingFi I have watched this video dozens of times. My eyes are not what they once were, but I don't see any women on stage. Where did Bonnie Raitt and KD Lang appear?
@@Inigo_The_Son This is just one song; you have to watch the entire Black and White concert to see them all. Not just this one song. By the way, she's only a backup singer. I don't recall the women singing with him, but I might be wrong on that. Been years since I watched the entire concert myself.
The liberals still like Tiny Tim!
@@mikejohn0088 I don't know what politics has to do with it, but 40 years ago I drove Tiny Tim in a limousine, so we spent a couple days together. He was very friendly, but really weird. Even though it was 100+ degrees in Austin, he wore like 6 layers of clothing, finishing with a heavy multi-colored coat. This made him smell pretty bad. I was required to wear a suit, and just looking at his clothes made me sweat more. Overall, he was a more pleasant customer than 90% of celebrities I drove.

The guitar jam with James Burton and Bruce Springsteen was pure magic!
I fuckin knew that was Bruce
They're the best oh yeahhhhh
James Burton, he was Elvis Presley guitarist on stage from 1970 till Elvis died, and I believe he was a wrecking crew member for a while. Probably the best talent on that stage, even Bruce thought so in the interview of this show...
You know, I knew James Burton was bad as hell some of what i've heard being a huge Elvis fan, and that Bruce could play but I really didn't know he was that good! You're so right those two together is like nothing I'd heard. AWSOME!

Roy Orbison was truly a rare talent. His range was, and is still untouched today. It's rare to have a male vocalist hit such high notes, yet can also do wonders to the low notes. He did it with such force, such power, but the best of all, such clarity that his music will live on for thousands of years unsurpassed. What still amazes me since the first I've heard his music until today is, he did it with ease. It's incredible. His voice is unmatched even today..!!

Maybe it's just me, but other than being a golden night of raw artists, with Roy in the middle, calmly but seriously watching everyone in the band do their thing, it just seemed as though he was a very solid centerpiece with a type of aura that cemented the whole band that night. It's like he was wearing an invisible crown, like a dad watching his children perform and keeping an eye on each one. When Roy joined the Traveling Wilbury's, I think that was a very magic moment for the group to have his talents combined with the other Royalty of music. That was a time when music was serious and involved. I lived through it; I know. Never to be repeated again.
So this Band was known as The Travelling Wilburys and was Roy Orbison's come back Band after a few years playing small venues in Australia and some of the European Countries, they have their own UA-cam channel and there's a Documentary about them as well as the Roy Orbison Preservation Society that also made a Documentary

Stage full of god given talents. Must have been amazing for those that witnessed this concert.
The guitarist who added the most to this performance in his typically unassuming way was the incredibly talented James Burton. He's the one outdueling Bruce. If you know his pedigree, then you know why he is so remarkably talented as a guitarist. The former leader of Elvis Presley's band has played with just about every conceivable major Country & Rock & Roll artist. They all regard him as an icon of the guitar.
Originally started as Rick Nelson's guitar player who at one time was second in popularity to Elvis.
Thanks, Jack. How well I know a that. The tragedy that was Ricky Nelson. He was THE teen idol of the 1950's, and should have done much more with his music. He was just a bit too syrupy and "pretty." The country wanted something different and first got the "Bad Boy," Elvis and then The Beatles and then The Stones. Nelson was left dealing with drug addiction and a failed marriage. Burton was simply one if the best lead guitarists of that era and is still respected beyond his prime.
@@michaelnilsson3596 I think he did try and get more edge; in fact some say he was responsible for the beginnings of country rock. His unique voice and talent was not given the praise and fame I personally believe he deserved. Thank you for sharing. May he RIP and God bless and keep his family.
God Bless Your Brother Also 🙏
Its so sad what happened to his first wife and 2 children 😪😪
In IRELAND we still TALK and LISTEN to roy.

What an Awesome thing U did for your Brother! From an AF Brat/USCG Retired!
Look the way they idolize him and I don't think he thought he deserved it but omg he did and still does .
Im 42 and my 19 and 17 year old daughters love roy and alot of other oldie legends ...pass on the real music to future generations
What a concert. Not only Roy Orbison of course, but all the other incredible stars. Must have been an amazing evening.
Would’ve loved to have been there.
Songs like this are a legendary. Will never go out of date. This is what you call music. YEH
Oh yes unlike the crap you get these days
😃😃😄😄
@@delsingh5897 I honestly don’t understand comments like these. Every generation has shitty music and you knew it like hell if you were born in those days.
@@barrycuda6866 rubbish last 15 or so year's been nothing but crap no good singer's or groups, best music era was 80s 90s and most people know that.
@@barrycuda6866 Your a kpop fan you have no right to comment about music.
He was raised near me in Texas and granny and I would watch him on a local music program. Way before he got famous.
71 in Galveston Texas remembering sitting behind the Dairy Queen with my boy friend on Saturday night. He passed in 2010. Im crying now. My memories as a teen will always invlude him and 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner! My memories become more cherished each day. Treasures of my ❤️
I dedicate this song to all nurses, they never get the credit that they deserve for all the time that they invest in their form of compassion!!!!!!!! Love you 💞
Beautiful comment, gosh I love this song, takes me back to the good old days when music was played from the heart, anyway hope you're doing great?.
Those pretty ladies in the ER are a welcome site for Us EMTs when we roll into the E.R. especially when it goes south at work and we need lifeflight . The guys and gals who show up are a welcome site

I've listened to Roy Orbison since I can remember, he was my Grandfather's favorite! Pretty Woman was the song he always dedicated to my grandmother. They were both such amazing people, I miss them terribly 😇😇
On that night, those guys knew that they were creating something very special. You can see it in their faces...
This is once in a lifetime type of stuff, totally great... That stage has some very heavy hitters, wish Tom Petty could have been up there also...
@@Orkney3 Well sad. Frosting on the cake.
They wanted to show how to party with the best in the world and still have fun
More than that, they knew what they were doing.

I am 71 years old and Roy Orbison's music brought me into my teens. In 1965 when Pretty woman came out I thought it was the greatest song ever sung.
It still is!
He was fantastic
I am not 70 yet, it’s getting close, butI still love thissong
