Roy Orbison had the most unique voice in the history of pop music. His few performances with The Traveling Wilburys shortly before he died are fabulous. So glad that they are all on UA-cam to enjoy over and over.
There is nothing like this today! This incredible music played live... no samples, no over-dubbs ...just pure guitar and bass, with drums. You can't do better today!
@Matt1JWill2 hello! So this makes it even more sad. Do you even know when it happened? Fact still remains no talent like this is being appreciated like it used to be. Shoot even the boy bands of yesterday is better than today's garbage.
This song always makes me want to strut my stuff. I’ve never been quite convinced that I “stuff” to strut, but at least I get some extra confidence from the song.
Roy Orbison was truly a rare talent. His range was, and is still untouched today. It's rare to have a male vocalist hit such high notes, yet can also do wonders to the low notes. He did it with such force, such power, but the best of all, such clarity that his music will live on for thousands of years unsurpassed. What still amazes me since the first I've heard his music until today is, he did it with ease. It's incredible. His voice is unmatched even today..!!
One of the great things about Roy Orbison was that he was humble, cooperative, genuinely nice and had great manners. How I wish that there were more singers like that today!
The singers of today don't have that class that Roy had what a terrific role model some of the singers today wouldn't give you the right time of day all they care about is money
I dedicate this song to all nurses, they never get the credit that they deserve for all the time that they invest in their form of compassion!!!!!!!! Love you 💞
Those pretty ladies in the ER are a welcome site for Us EMTs when we roll into the E.R. especially when it goes south at work and we need lifeflight . The guys and gals who show up are a welcome site
I love the part when all these well-known guitar players are playing their guitars for an extended period of time. It looks like they are all enjoying themselves immensely and there is absolutely no clash of egos there.
One of my oldest brothers attended high school with Roy . And when Roy started making records. My brother gathering and playing Roy's records .when my brother entered the US Navy in 62-63 . I made it my job and pleasure to keep adding to my brothers collection. So when he got back home in 68 has was surprised to see how many Roy Orbison he then owned . So I have always been a huge fan. His unique voice and talent was not given the praise and fame I personally believe he deserved. Thank you for sharing. May he RIP and God bless and keep his family.
One of my very favourite things about this concert is how _intensely focused_ all the younger musicians are on him. They are playing with a Legend, and they know it.
Pretty Woman was the number 1 song when I enlisted in the USAF in Sep 1964. I'll never forget it. Roy Orbison & his music were a huge part of my teen years. He was one of a kind. RIP, Roy.
James Burton, he was Elvis Presley guitarist on stage from 1970 till Elvis died, and I believe he was a wrecking crew member for a while. Probably the best talent on that stage, even Bruce thought so in the interview of this show...
You know, I knew James Burton was bad as hell some of what i've heard being a huge Elvis fan, and that Bruce could play but I really didn't know he was that good! You're so right those two together is like nothing I'd heard. AWSOME!
I am 68 years old and every time i see this performance, I feel myself a teenager again , full adrenaline after hearing that wonderful combination ( the best voice and guitar work). I feel myself so lucky that this great artists where a part of my childhood...
Mate, I just turned 60 a few days ago, and I have lost count of how many times I've played this wonderful piece. Wouldn't have it been something if the pair of us were sitting in that venue, listening to the master himself (as well as his starring back-up artistes, no less), drinking in this glorious song? The word "legend" is often loosely bandied about. But you and I know that, when it comes to Roy Orbison, that word defned him completely. Guess what? I'm going to play it again!
Right I'll be 67yrs old soon and like you it takes me back in time to when i use to go to teen town every friday night to dance.if i had teeth I'd give my eye teeth to go back even for one friday night.when all was good.i miss those day's.😪😪😔😔.

La mayoria estamos en una edad avanzada. Envío un abrazo a tu esposo y una palabra de fuerza para tí, con estas canciones de RO salido de un talento tan ingenuo y exquisito. Jesucristo les ama
James Burton also played lead guitar on Elvis Presley's tours. Ricky Nelsons songs at the end of Ozzie & Harriot episodes. Also played with John Denver. And on many recording sessions.
I am afraid my friend alot of people did not know the facts. BUT after watching this guitar duel between the two for the first time(November 12 2021).....I declare the winner hands down....
I am 40 years old. I heard this from my boss's vcd. I immediately liked it and I gave it to my father who loves rock and roll. He kept listening to this plus this video. At that time in 2005, UA-cam did not exist in my country, Indonesia.
How great was this entire evening? Just the look of joy on the face of the Boss as he stands beside his hero Roy while trading licks with the legendary James Burton, says what the whole night was about. A stellar night for all who performed and for all of us, fans of Roy Orbison.
I was 29 years old in Van Nuys California with my little son he was three we were walking down the street and all this construction man stopped working and they sang that song to me and I’ll never forget it and I loved it and he said mama there’s singingThat song do you mama you’re the pretty woman I’ll never forget that that’s one of my one of my most beautiful memories in my life

I think they probably should go to the ottorinolaringologist and check their ears. Something is not o.k. Otherwise I deffinitely cannot understand what is wrong with this wonderful song and so professional musicians. Better than this is not possible.
4.5 into 135 is less than 3%.... Some simply don't like certain players/singers such as I don't care for Barbara Strisand.... Great voice, but so what... (You can tell 100 people that Jesus CHRIST himself will show up at 4 o'clock tomorrow - pick a spot, any spot - and you're going to piss off at least 4 people...! It's human nature...)
I love this song by Roy Orbison. The band is great, too. Roy Orison doesn't take away from the back-up band at all. He let's them shine as well. They are truly enjoying themselves. It's really awesome. Thank you for the great music 🎶
Amen to that cuz we were the lucky ones living the dream of being there to experience the best. Oh yeah and no F-ing social media, yeah those were the days.
♥✞♥The Resurrection of Christ. It is the core of our Christian belief. It is not that Christ went to the Cross or that He died and was buried in a borrowed tomb that is the crux of our faith. It is His glorious resurrection. Without it, there would be no Christianity. He would be another dead prophet. But the fact that He was raised from the dead...THAT is the foundation of our faith. That is where our hope comes from. It doesn't matter what our circumstances--Jesus was resurrected. It doesn't matter who has left our lives or how many times we have failed--Jesus was resurrected. When we base our faith on that fact, it doesn't matter what is going on in our lives, our faith doesn't falter because that fact never changes. Jesus was resurrected from the dead, and therein lies the faith of the Christian believer.♥✞♥✞♥

@@Matt1JWill2 btw it’s Boss not Bruce
@Matt1JWill2 hello!
So this makes it even more sad. Do you even know when it happened?
Fact still remains no talent like this is being appreciated like it used to be. Shoot even the boy bands of yesterday is better than today's garbage.
😂
I worked at the college radio station in the 60's and this is the music we played. the BEST MUSIC EVER, BY FAR !!!!
Every Woman should walk like a "Pretty Woman"....You ALL are!
Took me a lifetime to realize this.
God Bless you ALL ❤️
Hell yeah
This song always makes me want to strut my stuff. I’ve never been quite convinced that I “stuff” to strut, but at least I get some extra confidence from the song.
You are just lucky that you did not meet one of the bitches.
That’s a whole lot of talent on stage…..and every single one considers it a huge honor to jam with Roy!
Was that a young Bruce Springsteen on stage with Mr. Roy Orbison?
@@roxannekabotsky2997 Yes it is.
No
Agreed
Bruce sharing a mic with Jackson Browne. I’m not sure who it is w Elvis Costello- Tom Waits?
Classic--they'll still be playing this 100 years from now.
You better believe it bro...
I learned this song from my dad ...he is 73, and i liked it at the age of 25...im now 45
Roy Orbison was truly a rare talent.
Paul Fonua Well said, I couldn't agree more, you have great taste, if you don't mind me saying.
Yes he is
Agree.
Yes he was
Roy was a three cord musician
This classic will never die. Thank you mr Roy Orbison
Someone please mention the group members; Bruce, Jackson Brown , Roy.
Roy the Boy ♥️🎶♥️‼️ Elvis Called Him “The BEST VOICE IN ROCK n ROLL”; Indeed !!!
HE definitely was the best. Shame he died so young. 😪

I beleive the BIG O wrote songs for Elvis
Roy Orbison was the 1 singer Elvis NEVER wanted to follow on stage. Elvis said he just could never live up to that performance.
I'm almost 73 and listening as well 💯
❤this is music
One of the great things about Roy Orbison was that he was humble, cooperative, genuinely nice and had great manners. How I wish that there were more singers like that today!
Simply & beautifully said. Bless you. 😄
You bet
The singers of today don't have that class that Roy had what a terrific role model some of the singers today wouldn't give you the right time of day all they care about is money
I dedicate this song to all nurses, they never get the credit that they deserve for all the time that they invest in their form of compassion!!!!!!!! Love you 💞
Beautiful comment, gosh I love this song, takes me back to the good old days when music was played from the heart, anyway hope you're doing great?.

Exactly. Only fascinating people with his voice.
51 years old and I was just 16 when he passed away I then purchased his greatest hits of that same year in CD 💿 man he was something else the Big O!!
I love the part when all these well-known guitar players are playing their guitars for an extended period of time. It looks like they are all enjoying themselves immensely and there is absolutely no clash of egos there.

Springsteen looked like he was having the most fun. mho..... P.S. I thought Roy Orbison was blind until I was 33. LOL......

That's my favorite part. It looks like Bruce Springsteen is in ecstasy to be playing with an idol of his.
Very Well said, Yeah go Roy, they all knew who they we're with alright!!! 👍👍

The guitar jam with James Burton and Bruce Springsteen was pure magic!
I fuckin knew that was Bruce
They're the best oh yeahhhhh
James Burton, he was Elvis Presley guitarist on stage from 1970 till Elvis died, and I believe he was a wrecking crew member for a while. Probably the best talent on that stage, even Bruce thought so in the interview of this show...
You know, I knew James Burton was bad as hell some of what i've heard being a huge Elvis fan, and that Bruce could play but I really didn't know he was that good! You're so right those two together is like nothing I'd heard. AWSOME!
@Jim Morris me too! Take a note from the king and stay out of politics!
I am 68 years old and every time i see this performance, I feel myself a teenager again , full adrenaline after hearing that wonderful combination ( the best voice and guitar work). I feel myself so lucky that this great artists where a part of my childhood...
Janocum, I am 68 also and this video brought back a ton of memories.
I'm 80 years old and I love it. I have the album in my truck and play it every time I go out.
Right I'll be 67yrs old soon and like you it takes me back in time to when i use to go to teen town every friday night to dance.if i had teeth I'd give my eye teeth to go back even for one friday night.when all was good.i miss those day's.😪😪😔😔.

Of course, he excluded himself, being so humble.. Roy is great, but Elvis is another dimension..

Fantastic performance. That Burton guy is hell of a guitarist. Bruce was obviously into it and Orbison's voice was perfect.
James Burton, gave that Springsteen fellow a free lesson on guitar playing...
James Burton is a Living Legend, in the Hall of Fame, Elvis Presley's Guitarist , Rickey Nelson's band ext, Fender Telecaster Man
You can see Burton on The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet as Ricky's guitarist.

James Burton was in the waiting room, handing out cigars.

Hello dear how are you doing today.
