This was such a great video! I was able to follow along easily, and because you provided the traceable pattern, I was able to get a feel for the layering and tools without stressing about how poor I think my line work is. This gave me a big confidence boost! Thank you!

I struggle a lot with confident lineart because I have hand tremors, so I played around with Krita and found I really liked the weighted option over the stabilize option. The Select+Liquify tool also really helped me be able to continue onto the rest of the piece.
There were some things I ended up changing a little, but I'm happy with being able to finish it. Is there a place we can post the results?

You are amazing! Thanks for showing us and teaching. Something must be said for learning by copying and tracing without dismissing all other learning techniques which focuses on muscle memory, proportions and anatomy. A beginner has got to start somewhere.
Even Walt Disney in his early days had to build an older version today’s tracing light board to create mickey mouse scenes and other comic strips.

i just want to say as a noob at drawing on a tablet and in general this helped me learn soo much. i use infinite painter and your procreate tutorial helped me learn when to clip and alpha lock. you cover all the basics and i love how you explain it all. keep up the great work.

Mine came out really rough because I don't have a tablet, I'm using Gimp with a mouse. I kept having to search how to do what you were doing in Gimp. But all in all, I think mine came out pretty well. (PS, I gave her purple hair and eyebrows, because I like the unusual hair colors you see in Japanese art, and a blue shirt with stars.)
I am a complete beginner in digital art but gradually learning through UA-cam. I am using Ibis paint X and its very good free software to for a beginner like me. I just loved your video and would follow your tutorials for sure. Please keep uploading more tutorials and I am very sure your UA-cam channel is going to be huge. Amazing tutorial. Thank you.

As someone who’s struggled to understand the software by just having a play with it… I’ve found this super helpful thank you! I think tracing is a great way to skip some steps for beginners to get used to the software. Nothing worse than spending ages on something and it not working out

I discovered that Krita has a terrible UI for Android and will try out Clip Studio Paint next with your other instructional video. I hope you make more tutorial content; I found it easy to follow your instructions (though I did have to pause and go back a lot).

Thank you very much ! I would say the style of this videos illustration is just a cartoon character maybe a mixture of disney and anime. and if you meant my other character drawings i would say its some kind of semi realism or stylized portraits !

I actually use Krita and could still do most of what you explained. Just thought I'd let you know. You might get extra viewers if you didn't limit the title to Procreate, I just clicked on it because the thumbnail looked attractive and was surprised that I could actually use the video as a tutorial in Krita.

Thank you for this! I've been illustrating with Procreate for a few years now but my coloring skills are something I need to work on. Yours is the best example on how to approach color and working with layers so far. I'm wondering if you might also show us how to blend some of the hard shadow lines into the skin tones to make a soft edge and perhaps adding highlight glow effects to areas like the forehead or wherever the light source might be coming from. Thank you again. I'm really enjoying your work and insight. :)

Thank you for your kind words ! Procreate Is made for beeing more straight forward than other programs. I would definitely give it a try if you think photoshop is too complicated! You don’t need all the features it has to create beautiful art 🙂
