Honestly, i dont think you guys need to rent a studio to make a good podcast. Just the two of you talking with a good mic in front of your computer is fantastic. That should massively cut down the cost.
One of the best channels to discuss the relationship crisis without whinny boys and girls ranting on each other. Was a fresh perspective to have mature people having adult conversations on the relationship crisis going on.
There is a ton of crap out there when it comes to building relationships, your podcast has been a breath of fresh air bringing clarity and sanity to an already muddied world of social engagement. Ill be sad to see you not continue this as your podcast has brought me great comfort in my own life. Good luck with whatever you have next!!
Always high quality conversation -- it's what the people in this niche need to hear, but maybe not what they want to hear. I've tried UA-cam before and it's extremely difficult and time consuming. If you ever wanted a go again in the future perhaps starting a Patreon would help hit that break even.
Big thanks Emily and Todd for a really great podcast series 🤝🏼💯👏🏼👏🏼 I only discovered it a week or so ago, I didn't see any adverts for it on IG (I'm not on TT). All your videos constitute an outstanding resource for people struggling with the horrors of modern dating, I hope the videos will still be available, I'm going to go back through them all. I agree, your long-form, well researched, articulately expressed videos are too grounded for the algorithm to pick up. It seems to be the manic, in-your-face, controversial, short-form content that gets pushed more. Meta etc don't want to encourage us to sit and think too long and deeply about important stuff like relationships 😣 they just want clicks and traffic. We are in a period of flux rn, men and women are out of sync across society. Your series is a major contribution towards rebalancing and resyncing men and women, I'm sure many people appreciate this like I do. I'm 50, never married, no kids, the past 25 years I've had a string of failed short-term relationships, many years of singledom, and unlikely to ever find my soulmate (due to decades of emotional neglect and abuse from my parents). Still, I've learned a lot from you and have come to a better acceptance of my lot. Thank you 🙏🏻 Best wishes Emily for the rest of your pregnancy and birth of new baby 😍 and all best to you Todd for your return to practice. Peace and love from Scotland ✌🏼☺
Just go to a third world country. Women will be falling over themselves to talk to you, just have good hygiene and dignified clothes as well as smile and look them in the eyes. Then, get ready to get those numbers.
For what it's worth, I will miss you two. I like the more solution based discussion you brought to the table regarding the current dating market. The discussions you had with other content creators were my favorite. It is unfortunate that the viewership is widely drama based these days and the channels that succeed seem to be like modern day Jerry Springer shows. Overall, I appreciate your content and wish you both success in where you focus your efforts in the future!
I really appreciated this channel. You two really filled a void in the dating discourse. Because most channels are younger guys who seem over the top. But you two are older with experience. And have a very grounded way of discussing things.
I can't begin to tell you how great these Pods are. I just found out about it like a week ago, and here I am finding out that it's ending, bummer. Well, I'm already looking forward to your next project. Excellent material. Thank You Emily & Todd.
Sad to see you guys go. You've got a great podcast here with interesting non superficial takes ! Was about to offer to come on for an interview with you two 🙏We've got a dating channel focusing on holistic practices with 140k subs, The Natural Lifestyles. Let me know if you'd still like to do it ? The next episode could be a high quality zoom interview :)
Thank you for all the content, I would listen to your podcasts almost daily on the way to the gym and back in the morning before then going out to work. Sad to see you go but hope to see you back one day, meanwhile I will be watching the backlog of videos I have not yet seen
Sad to see that this will be the last episode but I do have a sizeable backlog to go through still, you have been both refreshing and challenging to listen to, as someone who has never dated and has no idea how to even start or whether I even should.
Noo! This is one of the few genuine podcast that discussed these topics without divulging into toxicity. That was why I just began getting into this channels videos. :( The more popular channels are just thriving off of rage bait.
Thank you Emily and Todd for continuing on with the podcast even though you weren't even making the money spent on the podcast back. I will miss this podcast. Hope everything works out in both of your future endeavors.
aww man, im 10 minutes in and I am gonna have to come back and finish this later, its making me sad right now and I've already had a sad week. I will save my final comment for when I finish the video, but I just want to say I really enjoyed the podcast, I found it thoughtful, helpful, and entertaining, and I will miss it. I wish there was more that I could have done to help...and just in case you only read this comment and don't catch the one I make later (probably will end up being tomorrow), I wish you both peace, health, and happiness.... and now I must go because the sniffling and watery eyes are about to make me feel less manly (and thats ok).....
Just found Emily and am enjoying her posts immensely. I am a 70 y/o male who dates a 50 y/o and 40 y/o and pre internet used to run a professional matchmaking service so I am not your average bear. Still, my own life experience, age, and social status seem to resonate totally with the young men commenting on this platform. So I guess I will be following Emily going fwd for pure entertainment value. GREAT job Emily.
UA-cam for content creators is incredibly difficult, in order to compete with the average network you need to be uploading atleast 3 videos a day. Now for channels big enough to go live, you can get around having to do lots of content by going live for long periods of time. Watch time is one of the biggest drivers of algorithm strength.
Todd and Emily did a great job of bringing great insight from several different angles in todays dating market. I’m sure both will have a lot of success in future endeavors
I was actually going through your older podcasts when this came up in my notifications. It's sad to see it end so soon, and you're right, the manoshpere isn't ready for nuanced discussions. Unfortunately I think that missing piece will lead to it's downfall in the coming years
Tbh I’m actually surprised the manosphere still has content to put out. I think most of the creators have just resorted to focusing on drama and that sort of thing which is beyond boring to me .. makes me wonder where this space will be in a few years..? Surely it has a time limit of sorts
Awe shucks, I came in right about when you were done. My favorite song in middle school was 99 problems by Jay Z, there are definitely many issues men are facing today, even the most top tier guys that's right, just because people do well with women doesn't mean they do well in life in general and it is important that people remember that. I think a lot of young men especially think too much about what their status is in the sexual market while what makes men attractive to women is mostly non-sexual. Thanks for giving me something to listen to!
What about filming with only a single camera without a studio background and no preparation on an irregular schedule? That could bring down the monetary investment by a lot and save you time. I think you might be too ambitious in terms of quality while the audience might not even care. It would be sad if the channel would not upload any more videos :(
I am a MUCH smaller UA-camr and your content is great. If you continued with a low budget basis, I think things might pick up. Most podcasts started small and grew organically. It has to be something done on the side rather than pouring money in from the start, as Emily pointed out.
There aren't many podcasts like this where there is a female and male host. Many people willing to throw money into a Patreon too. Also Todd asks the great questions that we all want to know
My favorite guest is Wheat Waffles. That community or sub section of the internet in general has been viewed a bit negatively in general by people and it's great to invite someone from that group to talk and share their perspective. I also like in the end Todd said he's thinking of maybe having group sessions of just men having group talks and stuff. That led me to think, all those group talk shows like freshandfit, whatever, pearly things, they mostly invite women to their shows and occasionally have one or two men there, but there isn't a show that's the complete opposite in which it's majority men talking about their issues. Maybe not even limited to relationship, but maybe finding work, self improvement, getting confidence, loneliness, etc. I know why this type of show hardly exist it's because it doesn't get as many views and clicks, but I think it's good for men especially young men and their development.
It is a pity this podcast is going down. I think you were pretty reserved in your opinions - sure, maybe a bit more on the "red pill" side, but something much better than what we are left with. A more sober approach does not attract views and this showed once again. Man, it sucks since nobody talks about these problems rationally and I don't like the idea of being "the top G" - I had this phase when I was 16.
UA-cam is definitely a marathon not a sprint. I've really enjoyed watching you both and will miss the videos. However I totally understand the time and monetary investment. Not to mention that the majority of people who would probably benefit the most from your content don't like watching long form UA-cam videos. I wish you to the best in all your endeavors!
All someone needs to run a podcast is a computer, two mics and conversation skills. You guys don't even need to be in the same location. For anyone else planning on running a podcast, expect at least two years without significant growth before things pick up. Invest in solid mics, keep the costs to a minimum, be consistent and patient.
Honestly I never even heard about this podcast until just now when I looked up Emily’s bio. Did you make tik toks about this Emily? If you have, it’s not getting passed around that much!
What did Todd say was the podcast before this one? I rewinded it 4 times and wasn't able to make out what he said other than that it started with the letter B.
Sad to see you go. I thought you were doing good work. It can take a long time for a vlog to take off and have continued growth. Good luck in what you do next.
It just sums up the state of play in 2024- a man and a woman having calm, well-paced, excellent discussions that are very well informed, and the number of views is surprisingly (disappointingly) low. What a shame. Great job though - both of you.
I don’t know as 3 years is a good span of time - I think if it hasn’t picked up within a year or year and a half then it’s time to either switch things up or end it
It’s partially about the money as you don’t want to put a lot of time, effort and money into something and then not even break even. No one wants to work and lose money even if their message is helping
Let's be real here. So many stopped listening because Emily proved while she has the right words she herself does not follow her own advise. That broke her male listeners hearts. We truly thought she could affect change in women. Sadly that proved to not be the case. She did more harm by giving false hope to the men who believed in her as a voice of reason.
Elaborate more on this. I kind of felt like Emily's personality varies so much based on where she posts. One personality on her own UA-cam talks, another on TikTok and then the agreeable to almost everything Todd says on this podcast. It makes for some confusion.
@@gardengrower7633 essentially you hit the point of she knows the right words but does not herself understand them. Had she truly understood her own position she would have not become pregnant out of wedlock. Good men upon her announcement immediately looked at that ring finger and knew "nuff said". She put her platform out to pasture once she showed she obviously didn't heed her own advise. Men needed a female champion being vilified this day and age as evil. At times even prince charming needs help hints Eve's very existence. I actually commented the day she announced her pregnancy that she had just ended her career. Not because she's now pregnant but because she obviously let some guy who's no man take from her everything she had built. Slides in: "A man sees a pregnant woman with no ring, that maaaan will just keep walking". Good men are tired of behaving our selves while watching women give all their good to a bad boy. Then wanting us to accept them and their children once the bad boys have gotten all they want. Good men used to be more accepting of these women. But now their tired of raising some other man's children. While often times being cheated on. It's truly sad that she ended her beautiful fledgling career for one night of passion.I hope she enjoyed it.
@@gardengrower7633 there is a nugget of truth in what you typed. Emily was too agreeable with Todd and certain guests and I feel she should have offered more push back. One of the best channels to discuss the relationship crisis without whinny boys and girls ranting on each other.
Was a fresh perspective to have mature people having adult conversations on the relationship crisis going on.
The issue is for in person guests. You can have online ones but it's dangerous to invite people over to your home.
zero need for a studio, you two could set up at your own individual homes and split screen it and both never even meet face-to-face.
There is a ton of crap out there when it comes to building relationships, your podcast has been a breath of fresh air bringing clarity and sanity to an already muddied world of social engagement. It's more realistic to expect a podcast to MAYBE "take off" after at least 3 years of being consistent. 6k subs in 8 months is incredible.
Thank you

Hopefully you guys return one day
Nooooo keep going strong. Such good topics
Just do it from home as a zoom call. Pity to loose this podcast so soon
The quality would significantly go down and I don’t have the time anymore given I’ve retuned to my practice.
I really thought this would take off
It’s a shame it didn’t.
I really hope Todd chooses me despite my opposite coast location
Good luck you two
Thanks JC
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Hello!
The thing I don't like about YT is the use of thumbnail clackbaits. So bad.
Algorithm engagement
Unfortunately it's too late. This was a great podcast I was so glad to see a new one every week
Solid podcast with some great guests but this very long form format can be a hard sell.
Shame to see a good podcast go 😔
UA-cam shorts. Enough said.
