The black-tie event was an historical moment: an official inaugural event featuring some of the finest musicians of the '50s and '60s from Stax and Chess Records including Bo Diddley, Percy Sledge and Carla Thomas, along with several hotshot Texas blues guitarists such as Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimmie Vaughan at the height of their careers.

Sitting on the back porch smoking my good homegrown and listening to SRV, me and the dog are fucked up and watching the swamp critters. Damn retirement is good!.
Breaks string and just plays on!!! More talent in one finger than most have on two hands!!!!! R.I.P Stevie
HOLY HOLY TEXAS BLUES BABY! I miss him so much...RIP!!
Stevie's mix of Southern blues/rock n roll, style of playing is like NO other. Yes Clapton is great and Hendrix was as well but, NO ONE can and will EVER replace SRV! That's my 2 cents and how I feel! RIP Stevie. We miss u ever damn day.
Agree 100%
They broke the mold when he was born
Legend
All these years and I still get all the chills.
Very thankful I saw him live on many occasions. Music did indeed just flow thru him on onto the guitar.
Didn't nobody teach Stevie to play like this. No else can. Behind his back, standing on his head, Stevie could do it all! Karl
His best performance period! RIP god I miss him !
The best there is the best there was and the best there ever will be R.I.Pl
His mission was to come to Earth play guitar is fantastic is he could recover from addiction tell people it's possible try to send a message of love one another and God took him back when his mission was complete and he knew that he saw that

The music just flows out of him ! Got a bit of "showman" in him too. Would loved to have seen him in concert....had many chances. Gonna disappoint with language here but.....he's just F'in Awesome !!!!! Oh Yeah, Thanks a Million for this video...just made my day!
This is so insane, how can a human play like this? SRV is one in a hundred years.
Stevie Ray Vaughan on stage and one of the greatest blue's and rock n roll legends that ever lived..a short life of extreme success and a time of his life he got 8nto drugs but cleaned up in the end..a terrific band..Stevie learned to sing like his guitar playing and went on to write his own songs and they were a success..Stevie Ray Vaughan traveled over the world and fans loved him..Great guitar player and could make string witches in a second on stage..RIP
My favorite.. my Guitar God.. toes to nose.. bled Soul from his finger tips.
One of Stevie's best ! Damn near brings tears to the eyes just hearing that guitar sing! Agreed Olga....miss the Hell out of him. Lost him way too soon! He stills lives on here though :)
How grand would it be to be introduced by Albert Collins himself?
He was introduced by johnny Copeland

Wonderful! Thanks for uploading.
Albert freakin Collins!
He plays like he sold his soul
Boy those washington socialites got woke up that night I bet they couldn't be still.perfectly flawless.
...he sure broke a few strings that night.
When you can't play music neither sing, you become a rapper.
If someone asks how this strings stay alive, the answer is simple:
They don't.

Because shredding a guitar isn't good enough forward....must do it behind your back 😏😮
THATS POSSESSION, LOL
Jimmy who. My god stevie stold the show.
Jimmie Vaughan seems absolutely lost when SRV breaks a string. I know alot of people respect him and all, I just never thought he was all that great
Shabby mcdoogle Then you just don't get it or him. That is quite understandable.
Well then. you don't get it. Without Jimmy, Stevie would never have picked up a guitar. Jimmy and his band were playin' gigs when Stevie was still in school. Stevie always said he learned a lot from his big brother.
Put down the pipe.
@@gmandersonjr 😂😂😂😂
If you don't get why Jimmie Lee is so good, then you probably wouldn't have gotten Stevie Ray as a person. Stevie idolized his big brother. And always said he learned so much from him.
And someone told me the other day Kenny Wayne shepherd was better than Stevie ray Vaughan. I laughed so hard I almost couldn't keep writing.
HOLY HOLY TEXAS BLUES BABY! I miss him so much...RIP!!
