- I've lived in my Porsche Cayenne for over a year now. My friend Evan Lewis and I decided to drive to the most northern part of Canada to experience the Arctic Ocean, and the adventure that comes along with it. Follow along as we make the journey.

Renton Walmart coming through with the evening entertainment as always 😂
Thanks for taking us along, great vid! As for the fuel sensor, not a big deal, especially if you know the average miles you drive per tank. Along with your computer fuel distance estimate, I would reset your trip odometer after filling up and use that to estimate where your fuel level is. It's a trick many motorcycle people use, since many bikes don't actually have a fuel gauge, just a low fuel light. As for oil, it's usually a lot cheaper to buy a 5 gallon jug vs single quarts, especially at Walmart.
Thank you! I wish the cayenne allowed for multiple trip odometers at once so I could monitor oil and fuel consumption!
That Porsche is goals, I like that build out, man it sounds amazing too. 🤘🏻
Thank you so much!
Very cool video man when you left Langley you were in the Valley, my hometown, that helicopter was logging for the fix of the #1 highway that got completely washed out a bit ago in the floods.
Just found the channel and love the build!
🤘🤘🤘
Really good man keep the videos up!!!
Thank you so much!
Rings/bore issues suck. I've got them as well on my 08 project. I found if you avoid engine breaking aka go neutral on deceleration it helps a TON with oil burn. I haven't had to add a liter or change a plug in over a month doing that.
Unfortunately I've decided on swapping the engine when given the opportunity!
I'll be doing the same in time lol
Another great video Harry. Keep on keeping on.
Two V8 MONSTERS. That's cool!
Thank you!!
This was rad man. Keep it up homie
Damn sad to hear that the engine started to act up, but at least it's going to make the trip more memorable. Nothing like some side of the road wrenching!
We'll get through it! thank you. It was definitely an adventure!
I have the TT Cayenne and I call her my whiny little girlfriend as shes always bitching at me just like your does. Love that your running 35" tires. Love that you took her to the Artic. Hope you post the rest of the trip faster as I can't wait to see the vidoes! Thanks Harrison
I'll start getting the rest out faster!
Hello Harrison! your content is one of my big inspirations to build a 9PA overlander. Thanks for your tips on the roof racks as well on FB.
I initially planned a trip to the Arctic Ocean with my 4runner but life got in the way, but hoping to take my 955 CTT up next year.
Is part 3 of the series coming out? I hope you made it all the way!
Looking forward to part 3.
Where did part 3 go oven?
Just stumbled on your vids, cool stuff, please keep doing this! Very interesting to watch.
Thank you!
Great video as always
Thank you!
Mercedes says! 1 Liter for 600 miles is ok!!
Check the PCV valve first! If thats gone the engine burns heaps of oil!
Did you ever try changing PCV valves? (In relation to oil consumption)
I didn’t, no! But confirmed bad bore scoring after the trip
10 litres is 2.64 US Gallons
Thank you!
Did the engine issue come out of nowhere or has it slowly progressed over a certain number of miles? I have same vehicle (08 cayenne S - engine code is 9PAAH1) but only 86k miles and no obvious signs of any issues. Best of luck on the journey, look forward to the updates.
Came slowly over the course of about 30k miles! Nothing I could do though unfortunately!
Last min of the video, it says Check coolant level not oil. Also have you heard about the hood latch sensor? Once you get that low oil level light, you have to open the hood and close it to reset the dash.
My coolant level light came on yes, but kept going because of the bridge, and not being able to stop. Temperatures seemed fine also! I believe the message was a bit of a fluke but I did check after and it was fine!
@@HarrisonSchoen I wouldn’t suspect bad ring land, valve seals, and/or bad compression if the car isn’t smoking blue/black smoke on accel and decal. Are you solely relying on the dash warning or a dipstick?
Great videos.
What weight oil are you using by the way?
I get it is tricky in the Arctic to to temperatures,, but here in Europe Porsche often recommend 10w60 as these engines get older, as many use a quart every 1000km even when new, same as BMW and Alpina with their V8's here as well. So as they age they can drop to a quart/litre every 600km or 400 miles.
This doesn't mean the engine has serious issues, just the way it is, and can go on forever like this.
I use 10w60 also! The vehicle has very abnormal oil consumption, no doubt about it. I’ve now confirmed bore scoring.
@@HarrisonSchoen Oh, if you are using 10w60 already, then yeah, not great.
Good luck on sorting it, how many cylinders are showing scoring?
On the 911s it is usually cylinders 6 and sometimes 5. I know people do them all, but I often think it would be considerably cheaper to just do 5 and 6.
It is the way the coolant flows on the flat sixes, never looked into what happens on the V8s.
Can you tell if that burns oil or leaks it? Leaks aren’t too bad of a deal to fix but my Porsche knowledge is lacking
Bro i envy you, what is the ground clearance of Porsche.
CAD isnt 1 to 1 its something like .70 usd = 1 CAD.
gas is significantly more expensive across the border. reccomend people grabbing gas on the US side if possible.
also arrivecan isnt needed anymore. not sure when this was filmed. agree it is stupid app. but tbh shouldve checked online what's required or allowed into the country and seen they say you need to fill the form out on the app. sucks it was a 3-4 hr mistake
It is what it is! this was filmed back in July! I appreciate you!
Do they offer warranties for Porsches? For us Ford guys, there's a pretty good extended warranty through Ford with a $100 deductible.
if this was anywhere near a new vehicle, I'm sure they would. It's too old for anything but an aftermarket warranty!
Motor swap asap lol.
Yes 😂
Both fuel pumps cost me $200
13:57 Spoiler alert. The engine was that bad
hahahahahahaha
lol watching donut videos on the road??
Dude, road trip? These 2 videos were just 30 minutes of your face ranting.. barely showing the road or scenery, maps, etc...
