My granny would make rice pudding & an apple pie every Sunday! All the family would go to grannys house after church every Sunday for lunch!! I've tried real hard to keep this tradition going in our family!! Thank you so muchTammy 💕 I'll be making Creamy Rice Pudding Sunday!! 💕🌹
I never used butter in mine, other than that, I make the old fashion way ! So good ! Thank you, love watching you cook….You make everything so simple looking… That’s a Complement ! 🌸
Looks delicious! I am used to eating cold rice pudding so I had never seen the butter added before. When I was little my daddy would eat leftover rice with milk and sugar added (like cereal). He passed away when I was 9 years old and I haven't had it in many years. I remember it was good.
I use to fix it for my dad and he really enjoyed it. I think it reminded him of my mom. She always cooded hers low and slow like yours, no eggs. She would add the raisins just at the last 15 minute stir. I'd say I learned well. Yum-my!♥️
I love the rice pudding of a little Afghan cafe; she puts pistachios, cardamom, and rose - the rose is so subtle you can barely taste it. Oh my it's soooo good. I'm going to try your recipe but omit the raisins and add the cardamom and rose - I've never made rice pudding before, so I'm anxious to try my hand at it.
@@legaltidbits I hated them too until I tried golden raisins. I like those a lot. Give them a try, they're not as hard core tasting as the regular variety raisins.
That sounds delicious! I love cardamom and pistachios. Do you know if they used rose petals, rose elixir, or rosehips? I would like to try making your version. ☺️
I like to soak my raisins in cherry whiskey or some amaretto the day before. Also add canned coconut milk, Mexican vanilla, and a cinnamon stick to the cooking process 😋
Hi Tammy, it’s a blessing to find this recipe! Thanks so much for sharing it. Yours is the closest to the one my grandmother and great grandmother cooked. No water and put the sugar in last. That’s about all I remember because she didn’t measure and I was really young watching her cook it on her old chambers stove! Though she lived to 102 years, I could never pen down the particulars. I’m making it tomorrow and looking forward to remembering my grandmother at her stove, and the special Lady who was kind enough to share her recipe. God bless you.
This must be very close to my great- grandmother's recipe for rice pudding. Granny Hefferman in Altoona, PA. She always made it on the stovetop (not in the oven), and always used dark raisins, and a splash of real vanilla. I don't remember any butter, but that looks like a tasty ingredient. My grandmother saved & made all of my great-grandma's recipes, and those were the flavors of my childhood. I have my grandmother's recipe box, but the recipe for rice pudding was incomplete. I'm so grateful to watch your show, and see how you cook so many old-fashioned recipes! It helps me recreate those childhood memories. Thank you!! 💗
Tammy you look so cute & comfy today, I love that outfit! I'm sorry you're having "one of those days"...but you sure picked a great dish to give that good old comfort food fix! It's hard with fibromyalgia & auto-immunes we just never know when we're gonna wake up to those days but may I say, you are a great example for us to follow. You stay positive & just give it to God & He helps you cope. It's really beautiful to watch, & I appreciate you sharing your experiences & coping methods, & just your heart with us. We love ya!
I hope you are feeling better Tammy. I love rice pudding, going to have to try it your way. I always add some Mexican Vanilla to mine and it usually has eggs in it. Yours looks much creamier.
I prefer baked rice pudding to the stove top--I made it once and was very disappointed. I guess it depends on what you're used to eating. I have some cooked rice and have been thinking of trying the baked rice pudding in the Instant Pot, possibly in custard cups. Update: I made about 2/3 a recipe of BH&G Rice Pudding (plaid cookbook) and poured it in 4 large custard cups, covered each with foil, stacked on racks in the IP (add 1 cup water to the pot) and cooked 7 min, then let pressure release naturally for 8 min or so and it was perfect! I didn't have to heat up the kitchen with my oven and it was that custard texture I like. It is nice having the individual serving dishes.
Hi Tammy, I made the Peanut Butter pie with the topping on it. I put some mini Reese's in it. It was so great. I send the video to our son here in Alberta and our son In the Netherlands. They will make it too. I will let you know what they say. They promise to make it. And I share it with my Nephew and niece. So I will let you know. In the netherlands people dont make things like that with peanut butter. In the Netherlands you make peanutbuttersaus and eat it with your fries. Mmmmm yummie. Love you❤❤🤗🤗
You are the sweetest little thang and I just love watching and listening to you! I have tried so many of your recipes and even though I grew up in Kentucky, my mamaw and mommy both cooked similar recipes you cook. We had blackberry dumplings, sweet rice pudding, gravy and biscuits and all those delicious deadly food. Something new to me that I just live is all your microwave pie fillings. I just made your coconut cream pie recipe which is my husband’s favorite! Love you and love your recipes!!!!
This rice pudding was so good. I've never made rice pudding like this before and I've never had it so creamy. I added a cinnamon stick and some cardamom to mine too. Ill be making rice pudding like this from now on.

Delicious! My mom&dad used to make the rice sticky with same ingredients, just cooked in different sequences, my dad's mom called it resin grit. It was excellent. But the rice pudding is the same as my mothers. Thank you Tammy&Chris for bringing me joy watching your your shows. Y'all are enjoyable&funny. Have a Glorious, Blessed day!!!!!!!

Mom baked hers. I make mine on stovetop with cornstarch and eggs blah blah.....a lot of work for two servings. I would have made much more. I use leftover rice, usually from oriental food. Makes me want rice pudding.
You are loved sweet lady!!!

I could just listen to you every day..

Going to make this very soon thanks Tammy lots of love 💕 from Chester England
♥️💞
Hey Tammy, Patricia from central Florida. Can you do this on stovetop with leftover rice? Love your channel.
It would not be as creamy because the non cooked rice absorbs the milk, maybe you could try with heavy cream.
Great
Looks delicious, I love your outfit
I have an old recipe that is in the orginal Crockpot booklet-Old Fashioned Rice Pudding. It is really good but makes more than 2 servings.
Mom baked hers. I make mine on stovetop with cornstarch and eggs blah blah.....a lot of work for two servings. I would have made much more. I use leftover rice, usually from oriental food. Makes me want rice pudding.
🔥❤😍❤🔥
Chris says, “Is that all I’m gonna get, I’m a growing boy...fill mine to the top woman” 🤣😉
