Thank you for great tips! I’m filming on Canon M50 with a wide angle 12mm
lens from Rokinon. The lowest aperture on the lens is F2. I’ll try sitting a bit closer to the camera to make the background even blurrier

Hi Justin thanks for another great video but I have a question. I use open camera on my android galaxy A50 phone which works well in general and when focused has a great quality except after lots of effort and testing I can guarantee my focus to be as crisp as I want. I put everything to manual, settings but do I use auto focus,or focus locked or focus infinity or focus manual or focus continuous video? They all work well but if I move a little can tend to go out of focus or my jumper is focused more than my face. Would face recognition sort this out?

Thank you. I have a Sony HXR-MC2500 video camera and I use all manual settings. However, if the aperture is set, then I zoom in for a shot, the aperture changes. When I zoom out, the change remains until I reset it. Does that happen with other cameras?

What mobile camera app can you recommend that helps the blurring the background?
The image processor is the “brain” of the camera not the sensor as stated. The retina would be a more accurate comparison of human to camera.
I am using a c100 mk2 and I'm trying to do interviews with a blurred background but I cant seem to get the background blurry, foreground works but by changing the f and aperture mainly makes the screen darker. any tips?

I take it into Facetune and blur the background that way! I use the detail button to enhance my face or whatever I’m making clearer and I’m pretty happy with it!

Completely off topic, but did you know if you search something specific like "how to get bokeh in video" you get different thumbnail between mobile and desktop? Mobile shows the actual thumbnail, desktop shows the chapter it thinks you're looking for. At least for me right now.
UA-cam are always running different tests like that to see what works best for the viewers, always interesting to see!
