Dear Paul, Thank you once again !!! What makes your lessons stand out from the rest of the other videos on photography is that your explanation is in the simplest of terms and language as well as you use the most basic models of body and glass(lens). You are a natural teacher !!! Stay safe and blessed ...! 1. Use a large aperture 2. Use a fast prime lens, if possible 3. Use aperture/manual priority 4. Move closer to the subject 5. Increase distance between subject and background 6. Use backlit/sidelit or hair light ( if possible)
i Just bought my first DSLR camera for my 70th Bday and you are one of my teacher's. I like that you get to the point and don't wonder, like telling me what your dog eats or some other lame story like so many other YT vids ( no offence ) to your pup or you. Thank you for helping me understand my new camera......
Great to hear! I just bought one myself at the age of 75! Loving it! We're never too old to learn. Paul's definitely the guy to teach us too. Less waffle, more useful content!
Finally! I think I am beginning to understand how to get blur...I have been working on this for several weeks with no results. I have watched many of your videos but just watched this one. Thank you, you have helped SO much.
THANK YOU. My photography teacher gave me one last chance to figure out FOD by today. Nothing, not even the cameras manual ( or my teacher) could help me figure it out. But you, this video.. it saved me!! Thank you!
I just bought a beginner Canon camera and have been overwhelmed trying to watch a million you tube videos- nothing stuck until I came across your videos. I believe I am FINALLY starting to understand! Thank you!! xox
So, how come you’re the best!!! I’ve learned so much from your short videos than I ever learned from reading and other videos that get off track. Thank you so much.
Commenter Roby James could not have said it better! This is my first time visiting this channel and I'll be back. You are a great teacher, a great presenter, explainer and demonstrator. I enjoyed your video immensely! Very nice job. Thank you!
I recently started Photography & I just want to say Thank u for sharing your videos & tips . They have helped me so much . ❤ I have a Canon Rebel T6 & I love it .
Im a newbie on the field of Photography and been checking on some of vedios to help me with some cool tips but so I must say your your vedio are just the best and I can easily uderstand thank you so much for sharing with us
Hi. I've been taking pictures for decades and took courses in College. Due to situation, I hadn't touched my Nikon 5100 for 2 years. I picked it up the other day and forgot how to blur background. Sure I forget many techniques. Your tutorial helped me greatly. I had the eureka moment. lol Now, I subscribed and will watch you as if I'm listening to my great prof! Thank you so much for your easy approach to the scary abyss of photography which can bring you out into the sunlight! All the best. Thanks again!
Wow, I have been using the Nikon and learned more about what I have trying to do on it in this video than most others. The pace was perfect. The pictures assisted in a better understanding of results achieved from methods in the video instruction. Thanks
Thank you Paul for taking the time to clearly explain these techniques and methods to achieve these results. I just recently got into photography beyond taking photos with a cell phone and your help and advice has made a tremendous difference for me and also given me the motivation to keep learning more. I've got an entry level Canon Rebel T7 and the pictures I can take with the knowledge you willingly share has been a fantastic experience. I cannot believe how good some of the pictures I have taken have turned out. Thank you for everything you are doing to help us fall in love with this wonderful hobby!
Thank you! I'm not a photographer and I've been watching several videos on how to blur the background on my videos. Your video is the first that explained things in very simply lay terms that was easy to understand and eased my confusion. Awesome video!!🙌🙌🙌
Thank you. That little tidbit you shared about the focal length affecting aperture is exactly what I needed to know. I was trying to take a photo of flowers in a tree outside with a shallow aperture, but the camera wouldn't let me. It kept changing to f 5.6. Now i know why. 😊
I agree with everyone on here you by far are the best videos explaining different modes and helping us actually learn how yo use our cameras. Thank you
Being a newbie photographer I was curious about the word macro around the lens so thank you for explaining what it really meant. You have a great way of knowing your audience and how to explain in more depth and detail. Thank you so much.
Hi Paul, I follow your channel Photo Genius and I find the information shared by you is very generic, easy to understand for the beginners like me and the way you put this information through this channel is brilliant. The way you talk about photography technique is very simple and with full of information. I really very thank you for sharing all the information about photography using DSLR cameras.
You're such a phenomenal teacher, I went through 5 videos that just baited me and didn't provide any clear insight. You did it magnificently sir! Thank you so much, you earned by sub!
Just been given a present of a Canon camera with little or no knowledge of how to use it, your video's have been a great help to me for learning and I am looking forward to trying out the tips you gave, thanks for that.....
you literally explain it so easily than others. I don't know how but I completely understand everything when I watch your videos, when I watch others its so complicated lol
Excellent video in explaining depth of field. I have never found a video that teaches this so clearly. After many years I now understand the numbers on the lens. EOS Rebel T7 newbie USA Maryland. Thank you!
Hi Paul, today I bought a small note book and started writing down all ur notes, even I watched again the previous 2 videos to add more notes, thanks again
Im a newbie on photography and been checking a bunch of channels for tips and tricks to get me going and I must say.. your channel sir, might just be the best 😀👍🏻
I’ve just come across your videos, your tuitions are spot on, well delivered and easy to understand. I’ve struggled with the dslr cameras since changing from film not that long ago ! You’ve given the right information for me to ‘give it a go’ thank you
Thankyou for this video! Currently doing a photography course and it kept telling me raise apperture by one shot (3clicks) and never said to go in close and such this makes more sense then my text books! Instant subscribe!
You are amazing! You explain everything so incredibly well.... I absolutely love your videos and a HUGE thank you.... I was absolutely clueless to how a digital camera functions etc and now I can purchase a digital camera with confidence.... THANK YOU 💖
I'm new to photography. I have a lovely Sony RX100 miii and learning so much. Thanks for the vid. Now I know a lot more and was wondering how to blur background. Now I know. Cheers from the UK
Hi, Mr Genius. I really do fuljoy your programs. I have always been stuck in Auto Mode all my life, LOL. Thinking Manual to be Far too Technical for me. On Watching and Trying your ideas and suggestions. I'm getting used to Shooting in Manual. And fuljoying doing so. It does make sense shooting in Manual. You are in Control of the Camera. Not the other way round. You Explain things very Clearly. Excellent stuff Man. Thanks for your Expertise. Respect!
Thank you Paul as I have had my DSLR since 2012 and have been using Auto since then and having found your channel it has made it so much easier to understand the manual modes. Thank you :D I was reading the manual and thinking that there had to be something easier out there. Thank you again.
I just discovered this channel few days ago, looking for photography tips and trick and Canon EOS cameras ideas - be cause I want to move one step further in my hobby, choosing a DSLR after months of using smartphone to shot - a I find it brilliant. Very good information, mostly for beginners, very good presented, I like a lot the author - has charisma, has a good teaching technique. You can very well understand what he is presenting. Bravo!
The best training clips for the beginners line myself. you made this very simple and interesting. Thank you so much Paul. Will follow the rest of the clips.
You are awesome❣️ i am enrolled online for a class on mastering my camera but this is the part - depth of field that i did not understand. I don’t think the teacher touched about the lenses and how they affect the depth of field. I am so glad to have found you👍 i will check the prime lens because i think that was what he used and no matter what i do to get the effect he has on his photo, i couldn’t because i am using the 18mm-55mm lens. And because there was no discussion on the lens, i was not aware that my lens was stuck at 35mm or whatever. Anyway, thank you...
This is very informative. I didn't realize I cold have more control of the camera and pictures. I was in "Auto" I guess because I was lazy and didn't know that much for the first few months. I was "Point And Shoot" frame of mind. BUT NOW that i know more, I can take the same type of pictures and maybe get better results, although the results i had before were good. I also like how he had the same kind of canon I have so I can take his advice and apply it to my particular camera. It's the old, "Turn the wheel barrel over" concept. I have the owners manual, BUT this walks me through the steps in much more detail.
Dear Paul, Thank you once again !!!
